Yan Cass:
Yan (Combat Rune) vs Juch
Yan and Juch arrived at the small encampment without much trouble. Namek had been practically forgotten since the war, the exception being some lone dragon ball searchers. The PTO hardly cared about this world in comparison to the many others they picked up and it seemed almost lost to the times. The encampment was a lot smaller than Yan’s “memories” but it was a nice little place and the small number of guards had seen the crash. After deciding they weren’t enemies, they were happy to take them in for the night and help them with supplies. They highly advised to wait for the morn though, as the nights could be a bit rough in these parts with monsters the PTO had disposed there.

Yan let Juch do most of the social work, explaining his ship and what they may need. He placed himself instead by a warm fire as the sun set and the air cooled. He only had a light jacket, meant for the temperatures on Juch’s ship and not the cooler air of this part of Namek. His head was pounding at this point. He was no stranger to headaches and he still held his stash of drugs which he mulled over absently. A few would be more than helpful but might leave him ill equipped to deal with any trouble. He wasn’t sure Juch would approve of him being high as a kite the first evening on a slightly enemy planet. Kelioux was anti-PTO or something weren’t they? After they’d kinda stolen Juno…He doubted they’d find any real trouble here, but one never knew.
Juch:
"Yes, I think that'd do. Alright, thank you," the small fire began to be one of the few sources of light around these parts--if you were accustomed to any sort of city life, it would be a little disconcerting. One can forget exactly how dark the night can become. Juch's cane settled down next to Yan, as some vague smell began to wash over the area. Holding a steaming plastic tray in his hand, Juch crouched down and held it in front of the redhead, "Hungry? It's the best we can do at the moment. Most everything in the ship is...not fit for consumption anymore."

If there was any concern that he was on foreign soil, the android didn't show it. The list of supplies that he conjured up with, littered with checkmarks, was folded back up in his breast pocket with his other hand, "They have a few spare bunks for us--at least we won't have to spend the night outside."
Yan Cass:
Yan smiled a little as he heard the soft thump of Juch’s cane. He could recognize it easily now after the time spent listening for it in the ship. It was different compared to that, hitting the soft ground, but the extra step was still noticeable. He closed his medcase quickly and pocketed it again with ease before turning just a little to see him in the soft light. He took the tray with a small nod of thanks. “I’ve had worse,” he says lightly before he turned his head back to the flame as he set it in his lap and took a small seat. He gestured the man to do the same.

“Scared of the dark Juch?” Yan asks with a small smirk, at the mention of sleeping outside. He was a city boy himself at one time, but he’d trained in much darker places, much more dangerous places. Namek seemed like a haven in comparison. He had already thought of many good places to sleep on the way there in case the guard post refused them. That was just how his mind worked, even while it thumped and howled. “A little bit of camping never did anyone harm. ‘Cept in those horror movies but I don’t suppose you watch those.”
Juch:
Juch blinked at the crisp snap of a case, but didn't pay it much mind; instead, he allowed the steaming tray of undistinguishable lumps to be removed from his possession, and took a seat, empty handed, "With what you know about me, do you think I'd be scared of the dark?" he retorted, stroking his mustache, "And here I thought you were somewhat observative."

It was clear he didn't take it as an actual challenge, but he was very familiar with the shadows. Sure, there were physical confrontations there too, but...outsmarting them was also a prerequisite, "I haven't seen any good ones, at least," he continued with a smile, "But if you can make me think about some new ideas...well, you could draw me in."

The fire was warm, and the cold was beginning to press against his back. There was very little sunlight remaining, and in the distance, there was already echoes of...well, something. The children of the night were already waking up.
Yan Cass:
Yan grins a little at the androids retort, expecting as much. Juch’s shadows weren’t quite the same as the wilderness’s darkness though. As the sun was setting he was reminded of his time on Kanassa and it made his head hurt a wee bit more. He noted Juch didn’t make any move to eat the grub but Yan easily took a bite without thinking and swallowed the same way. He didn’t much care for food one way or another but he’d forgotten to eat most of the day before the crash, so this was what he was stuck with.

“Not a big fan of meaningless sex, running, and murder?” he asks, summing up the average slasher in a few words. Actually, thinking about it that way, one would think Yan would like slashers more. They were often a bit boring to him though. He wasn’t a tellie person to start. He hated sitting for too long doing anything. He took another bite as a sharp pain shot through his head once more and he let out a noticeable wince for the first time. Had he whacked his head again on top of things? It was quite possible though if Juch asked he would definitely blame the food.

“They got everything we need?” he asks instead, glancing back to him curiously.
Juch:
"Surprisingly, no," there was a chuckle as Juch looked back at the fire. Another pop and crackle--they can be quite loud. However, his attention drifted back to Yan, just to see the trace of the wince disappear from Mister Cass' face. It wasn't much to go on, and it was more of an automatic response, a knee jerk reaction, but Juch asked anyways, "Are you alright?"

"Well, they have enough. All we have to do is to make sure we seal everything up nicely; I'd rather not have an implosion while we're traveling in space," the android nodded, "As for the rest, well, the interior needs redecorating, and I'm sure that we'll be making the remainder of the trip in violation of several safety procedures. But," he offered a shrug, "It's the best we got at this point. It may take a day or two to repair what we can and go through the exterior with a fine tooth comb--perhaps even longer than two days, maybe."
Yan Cass:
“Have you tried this food?” Yan says simply, gaining another small grin. Of course he blamed the food. He was not one to admit real weakness. Oh, he would whine and moan about the smallest of things but when it came to something that truly troubled him, well, Juch hadn’t reached that level of confidence yet. A bit more prodding and he’d probably spill, he wasn’t very good at keeping his own secrets, but brushing it off was his first instinct, always.

As Juch continued though the grin faded and despite his words he continued eating. “Just don’t let me near the controls again, I’m sure we’ll be fine~” he notes with similar ease before leaning back a little. “Once we get to Earth there will be plenty more supplies to get everything back in check, as long as it’s up to par for that…” he trails off, looking over his shoulder back to the encampment and registering how small the place actually was. Well, Juch said they had enough, so he would have to take him on that. He was the more mechanical of the two. “We’re more than halfway there right?”
Juch:
"It couldn't be that bad, now could it?" Juch raised an eyebrow, "The stuff I had was at least alright."

It was enough to draw out a smile from the old professor and he exhaled with a shake of his head, "Well, I'll make sure that we get to Earth in one piece," the android nodded, "But it'd mean that we'll be stuck here for some time. It looks like ramen will have to wait for a little while longer, I'm afraid. But once we do, it should be all set. Earth has enough equipment to do a full repair, although I may to visit Kelioux again for some of the more advanced machinery--aah well, we're going there anyways after this, so it'd have to do. It may be a little more expensive now though, without Juno."

"But yes, although it's only a little more than half, unfortunately. I'm guessing we'll have to travel at a slower speed for the remainder of the trip, so we may still arrive later than expected."
Yan Cass:
Yan swallows the most recent bit of his food then sticks out his tongue in protest that it wasn’t that bad. He went back to eating though as Juch continued. He pursed his lips a little at the idea of staying much longer and then noticeably frowned. “Should I look for a proper mechanic?” he asks, scrunching his brow. Juch was not sounding at all convincing with his ability to repair the ship and there had to be someone on Namek that knew what they were doing. It wasn’t Juno or anything but it was a whole planet that had been involved in a galactic war, surely someone knew ships.

“There’s really no rush on anything but,” he looks back to him innocently. “Trouble comes as trouble waits.”
Juch:
"A proper mechanic will still need time to fix a ship, Mister Cass," Juch admonished with a gentle tone, "And that's with all the right tools in place. A broken windshield on a car may take a day or two to fix, but anything more severe will take up weeks or even months, much less a ship. That is simply part of the process, and hiring another person to do your work isn't going to change that. Very generally speaking, you have to replace many components, test the rest to make sure there's nothing amiss, and finally leak check the entire ship. Because nothing can go wrong once you're out in space."

"However, if you'd like, you may go search for someone else--I can imagine it'd only speed up the process," he nodded, "As by how much, well, it'd be hard to say."
Yan Cass:
Yan keeps his small pout but in the end simply shrugs. Juch, of course, spoke sound logic. He was too reasonable at times. He couldn’t offer a guy any false hope? Yan sighs lightly as the fire cracks once more, so very loudly. He set the empty tray down at his side and leaned his shoulder against Juch’s. “Chaos gods be damned then,” he says lightly with a light sigh. There was in fact a nice lump on his head that he noticed only as it touched Juch’s shoulder and sent another rush of searing pain through his brain. He didn’t flinch this time, and simply closed his eyes and hoped the android didn’t move much.

“Space travel just isn’t as safe as it used to be,” he notes, though what he meant was not quite clear. Space travel had definitely gotten much better in the more recent years and it was truly carelessness that had caused all his most recent accidents. He could dream anyway.
Juch:
"Chaos gods be damned," Juch repeated with a small smile, closing his eyes as he felt Yan's head make contact with his shoulder, "Are you that worried about it, Mister Cass?"

While he still didn't buy it, he wasn't going to brush off a concern like that in the end. He did open one eye though, after noticing the odd sensation of Yan's head--it felt like there was an extra protrusion there somewhere. However, Yan seemed serene, so he didn't raise any concerns about it, "A lot of things have changed," he murmured, "Sometimes I wish I could go back..."

The guards have gone about their own duties, leaving the two sitting by the fire in peace.
Yan Cass:
“A little,” he admits absently. He knew Juch still didn’t really get it and that was fine in it’s own way. For a change he was taking him seriously anyway and so he wouldn’t completely brush that off. “It’ll be a test of my merit certainly,” he says with a small smirk, as if suggesting he didn’t have much merit to start. He didn’t think he did but if he could avoid going crazy on Namek it would say something about him, right? Right!

He heard Juch continue though and lifted his head so his cheek would rest on his shoulder instead. That was better for him anyhow and this way he could still see the man’s face. “To when exactly would you go Juch?”
Juch:
Juch fell silent. The wind began to pick up, and the fire danced with even more intensity. A bit of time has passed, with not even a reaction from the android--when it seemed that Juch was just going to ignore the question entirely, he finally spoke up, "Probably to the beginning, Mister Cass."

His expression didn't change in the least, but his eyes had glazed over--he was staring at something past the dancing flames, but to what, only he would know. However, there was a hint of finality in his voice. It seemed unlikely that Yan was going to get much more out of him tonight.
