The Avatar of War
|
Lately there had been something on the Avatar of War’s mind that he wanted to get off his chest. He hated that he been avoiding it rather than tackling it on head on, but he didn’t know how to work it in along with the other problems he had. It also didn’t help that he had walls of doubt that needed to be chiseled through. After his recent visit to the Astral Realm where he talked with Yan, he realized he needed to stop leading people on. I need to say it before I give the wrong impression again. Before he wanted to do it of course, he wanted to first talk it over with a friend. The pink-haired warrior hoped that it would also help shed any doubt he had. He just wasn’t sure how the Lighting Lord would react to his news. As far as he knew, Chishan and he never exactly talked in that way. For the most part, they acted like typical guys and never sought each other out for emotional support. Since he always wanted to try something from his visit on Kanassa, Walid tried to lock on his mind with the Saiyan’s. Once he managed that, he sent out telepathic waves, hoping that his message would reach its destination. He also feared that he messed it up… and sent it to the wrong person. If you’re not busy, meet me outside… we need to talk. The Zaunite figured that the outside would provide enough space for them to be alone. He would hate it if someone else were to eavesdrop. If that were to happen though, he probably wouldn’t care much. WC: 277 |

Champ 2 Chishan did his best to keep himself busy these days in his downtime. Otherwise thoughts would attempt to invade his mind and bring him down. He was good about handling it when it became too much; he always went to Agatha and would talk to her about what he was feeling, how it was bringing him down. He knew she understood better than anyone else. He found solace in her and she in him; he provided strength when she needed it and she did the same when he did. They'd gone through trauma but they were beginning to heal--together. So to say he was severely focused on the technical work he was doing was to put it lightly. The flashing light from the soldering iron flashed against his goggles as he worked on the chassis in front of him. He'd made great strides on Harmony since everything had happened on Earth--no doubt a side effect from his absolute focus when he did. He'd just about got a pocket of metal welded onto the inside when a voice echoed in his mind, surprising him. His head rose a little to listen to the message, the voice distinctive in its pitch and tone. He was busy. But not too busy to ever talk to his friend. In a flash of movement, he had put everything back where it had come from. And a moment later, he reappeared on the outside, still sporting the goggles on his face as he looked at the Zaunite. He pulled the eyewear up onto his forehead and cocked his head a bit at Walid. He smiled, though it didn't have its usual luster. "We need to talk," He repeated Walid's words with a small laugh. "Breaking up with me so soon?" WC: 296 |

He was unsure to think about the Lightning Lord’s goggles… he didn’t know if he was swimming or bike riding. For a moment it even made him wonder if he called for the right person. As soon as the Saiyan spoke he knew exactly who it was and… he wished he’d chosen something better to say earlier. The pink-haired warrior replayed his message in his mind and realized how it might sound like that. “Well that all depends…” he said, couldn’t let that joke lose its potential, “Would that mean no more sex?” The Avatar of War didn’t really want to be joking, seeing as he called his friend out there for a serious matter, but he couldn’t help himself. In a way it helped rid all the awkward tension that was in the air around him. That, however, couldn’t go on for long. He was doing exactly what he’d been doing for a while, avoiding the issue. To show that he was serious, he showed the most serious face he could muster. “Joking aside,” he uttered, still not flinching, “I have something to say, something that I probably should have told you since Agatha also knows all about it.” That’s when he started to feel bad. He didn’t want to insult the red-haired Gypsy, but he knew the Lighting Lord first. What kind of a friend was he to tell someone else, before him? It also made him wonder if Agatha had already told him, he didn’t exactly tell her to keep it a secret. “It’s Bulma-related,” he finally said, cutting right to the chase. WC: 266 TWC: 543 |

Walid continuing the joke earned him a wry grin and a small chuckle. Honestly Chishan had made the joke to lighten the mood, which felt awfully heavy even upon him just arriving. Walid wasn't looking to talk about something easy or even light in nature. This was important to the Zaunite and, by extension, that made it important to the Saiyan Inferno. He probably could have let the joke keep going but he instead chose to let it fall away so that they could get to the meat of this meeting. The Avatar's joy melted away, his face twisting into something more stoic. It wasn't the first time Chishan had seen his friend get serious but it was definitely one of the more focused looks he'd seen in awhile. Idly he crossed his arms over his chest as Walid revealed that it was something he should have said before, as he had already told Agatha about it. Whether he knew exactly what the pink-haired warrior was getting at or if Agatha had told him didn't show on Chishan's face as he kept himself focused on Walid. "Bulma-related," He repeated softly, nodding his head. He didn't offer his thoughts on that, instead opting to keep his words until they were actually needed. "Go on," Was all he said, trying to coax out what needed to be said. Because in truth, they both had something to say that should have been told before. WC: 241 TWC: 537 |

The Avatar of War nodded when his friend told him to go on, but he hesitated at first. He didn’t even know why it felt so hard to come clean, was he crushing harder than he thought? It really didn’t help that he heard a chair or something plopping inside of his head. He didn’t have to ask what was going on in there, Brontos loved to watch the pink-haired warrior during awkward situations. “I like her,” he said after he finally found his voice, “And not in the way I like you.” Right away Walid feared that wasn’t what he should have said. “Not the way I like you?” How was the Lightning Lord supposed to react to that? What if he thought that the Zaunite didn’t see him on the same level as the blue-haired woman? Instead of worrying about it, he decided to go on, just as Chishan told him to. What scared him was that the Patron of War wasn’t laughing, was he already dead from entertainment? “I wouldn’t exactly call it a crush,” he mumbled out, “But I wouldn’t say I love her yet either.” Was that the right answer? Was his words going to later come back to bite him on his butt? Regardless of the answers to those questions he felt like he said exactly what he needed to for Chishan to understand what he meant. "Oh." It was a terrible way to respond to the revelation. There was a good bit of surprise in his voice in it, like being told someone had found one's wallet on the ground that a person didn't even realize fell out. He blinked a few times as he listened to Walid try to clarify what it was he was feeling in probably the most generalized way ever. Not exactly a crush but not exactly love. Hefty place to get stuck in. A place he knew intimately well. He reached up and scratched the back of his head softly, his fingers racking across his scalp and his face twisted in thought. Agatha had told him about Walid's confession to her and Chishan had taken his own time to process it in the only way he could. His gaze shifted a bit as his mind worked overtime but it wasn't out of confusion. It was more...well, there was another revelation he wasn't sure Walid knew about. "You know Bulma and I..." He started before he stopped, realizing how stupid that sounded. He let out a short laugh before he looked back to the Zaun. "You're my friend, Walid. One of my oldest and best. So I'm not going to keep things from you. Bulma and I had something a few months ago. There was an attraction and I acted upon it and...things happened. And truthfully, I was about ready to commit to trying a relationship with her and she seemed willing to as well. But unfortunately...I was already in love with Agatha and it took me sleeping with Bulma to realize that." His hand dropped to his side. "It tore me up, doing that to Bulma. And you know her; she just soldiered right through it. We never really talked about it; there was kind of a silent understanding that we would move on the way we had been going before everything happened. And we got on fine; better than fine actually. We got closer until we reached this point, where we're really close friends. She means a lot to me." A sigh escaped his lips. "Honestly I love her too. I guess for a time you would say it was a romantic love, almost like how I feel about Agatha. But then..." He trailed off and looked away, his mind rushing back to the events that happened right before they left. "I'm going to tell you something that I haven't even told Bulma yet. Maybe even something I haven't really voiced to Agatha either," He said softly, looking back to Walid. "There were things that happened before Agatha went to the hospital. One of which was...I was killed. Murdered by a former friend of mine. I was only dead for about five minutes but it was long enough that I remember being in the Next Dimension. When I came back, I was in a coma. Agatha tried to heal me and in doing so, created a connection between us. Something spiritual that I can't even describe in words. But I know there's only one person I want for the rest of my life and its Agatha. I just...know it now." He shook his head. "I'm sorry, this isn't about me. My point is I care about Bulma a lot. And I care about you a lot. I want you both to be happy and honestly...I think you could make her really happy, Walid. You can be the man she deserves. You just...you have to tell her." Almost immediately he already felt like he knew what was going to be said. With the name drops, and that one comment Mrs. Briefs said, it was safe to assume Walid already knew what was going to be said. What really shocked him was to know that the Lightning Lord was stuck in between Agatha and the blue-haired woman. That’s when he felt a little relieved; he didn’t know the details and partially thought that he was being a womanizer. The more he heard, the more he realized their little talk needed to come out. He would have hated to stir things up by making Chishan upset if he were to ever see the Avatar of War with Bulma. It also made him wonder if he should even consider doing it after that, it sounded like things were intense. What kind of a friend would he be if he made a move on someone his friend loved? That, however, wasn’t the end of the story. As the Saiyan went on, Walid stood there, nodding to every detail. He nearly collapsed after he heard that the Lightning Lord… was killed. He was still alive, but even if it was for a second, that still had to be a rough experience. It was touching that he was healed by the red-haired Gypsy and it made him like her even more. She had helped a friend of his really and that meant a lot to him. “That is just…” he said, blinking a few times, “I’ll admit that I felt like something was up, but I didn’t know that it was like that. Aggie… I’m glad that you and her found something like that.” Once again the spotlight was brought back to the Avatar of War. Part of him wondered if he should still pursue to woman that Chishan once loved. The fact that he received his blessing or words of encouragement made him realize that he definitely needed to. Before that though, he wanted to express his doubts. “As for Bulma, I plan to,” he muttered out, “Hell I’ve probably have plenty of times to say it. There was just always something holding me back. When I met her parents, I learned a few things, one of which was the recent guys she’s had relations with. I just didn’t think of how I could match up to someone like a Prince…” Walid then paused for a moment, unsure how the Lightning Lord would react to the other person. After everything that was just said, he feared how his friend would take to the news. Finally he managed to muster the strength. “And then there was you,” he finally revealed the second guy. That wasn't the only thing that was up. But the other part...that wasn't coming out. Chishan smiled softly. "Me too, Walid. I never thought I'd find it...especially after all the loss I've suffered. But we keep on moving forward, right?" He asked with a small laugh, his hand returning to the back of his head. Walid had only recently started talking to Chishan like this; actually it had only been one other time but it still meant a lot that the Zaun was opening up to him like this. But they'd focused enough on the Saiyan Inferno's stories and his background. The important part here was Walid and his feelings and Bulma. His hand pulled away from his head and crossed over his chest with the other as Walid explained his reservations. He'd had opportunities to confess before but something had stopped him. The Saiyan's brow furrowed as he mentioned that the topic of Bulma's former relationships came up. Of course there was Vegeta and that had apparently weakened Walid's morale a bit. But then there was Chishan. So he'd been mentioned in conversation before this. He frowned as he looked at Walid, his face showing his sympathy. But that only lasted a moment. "Walid..." He started, moving forward to stand directly in front of the Zaun. "That's stupid," He told him bluntly, reaching out and putting a hand on the man's shoulder before he could protest to the comment. "Her past is her past. You can't measure yourself up against others because it doesn't matter. She's not with the Prince and she's not with me. Relationships aren't a competition; they are about two people that care for one another trying to make each other happy. Whatever came before that means nothing as long as you two can make something great together." He smiled. "And I know you two can. Don't let anyone else determine your choices. Be yourself; because in the end, she'll appreciate that more than you playing it safe for fear of past flames," He pulled his hand off Walid's shoulder and gave it a small, playful punch. "You seem to enjoy fire..." "Be the flame that lights up her life now." WC: Doesn't even matter. TWC: 1000+ |

It was stupid and that was something even he could have agreed on. The truth was that he’d already made up his mind about ignoring all that. He was also unsure why he allowed that to even stop him in the first place. There were a lot of girls in the past that he’d encountered and he didn’t have a problem with them at all. Was it because he was chasing after a woman this time and not a girl? “Whoa whoa easy there,” the pink-haired warrior tried to remain his composure, “I meant that was what stopped me before. Your words though…” All around the realms of Walid’s stomach started to boil as a mighty flame started to roar within him. The air around him started to blow while an orange aura busted out of him. It was safe to assume that those words of confidence actually helped him out. The word choice was spot on considering how he felt whenever he was around Bulma. “I’ve got to say… they’ve gotten me all fired up,” he said with a smirk and then started to hunch over in pain, his insides were hurting, “...Crap, not at a time like this.” He had his hands clamped around his mouth to try and hold the fire within him, but it was too hot for his palms to handle. When he pulled away, out came a stream of flames. The Avatar of War leaned to the side to try and not get Chishan caught in the crossfire. His wave of fire sailed while also taking part of the ground with it. He then watched as a strand of smoke trailed off his lips. “That isn’t what you meant when you said light up her life… did you,” he said, joking, “I should also try to keep that in check before someone’s eyebrows goes missing.” |

It instilled Chishan with a warmth and light, knowing he had moved his friend a bit. With everything that had happened and all the darkness that had come from the past few weeks, knowing he was able to offer support was a huge relief to the Saiyan. His soft smile widened a bit as Walid professed how fired up he was over the prospect, his excitement bubbling up. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only thing that seemed to bubble up. Even as his aura ignited around him, the Zaun hunched over in sudden pain. There was a brief moment of concern on Chishan's part before he realized what this was. He had seen this before, once or twice when they had trained long ago. "Oh no," Was all he could say before the Avatar straightened up and his hands moved to release a torrent of fire. Walid turned his head to keep the flames from getting to Chishan, who had already leapt to the opposing side to further avoid the heat wave. When it was all said and done, the Zaun stood there with a trail of smoke billowing from his lips. He joked about the literal fire not being the one Chishan had been speaking of. And then laughter. It burst out of Chishan for the first time in quite awhile; a true, authentic laughter that shook his body and brought the widest smile to his face. It lasted a short while as all the nerves that had made up the Saiyan's body for so long were deposited out through his laughter. "Kais be damned," He finally managed to say, wiping away the tears that had gotten to the edges of his eyes. "Thanks Walid. I really needed that," He said, his smile much brighter than it had been before. "Just try not to get that excited when you finally tell her," He teased him. "Avoiding that, I'm sure it'll go great." He paused long enough to look at the man once more, his arms once again crossing over his chest. "Since we're on the track of world changing revelations...there's something else I'd like to talk to you about. About Agatha." WC: Too damn much TWC: Mucho |

The smoke from his flames began to fan out and showed what looked to be a trench. At that moment, the pink-haired warrior shook his head. He couldn’t imagine how angry the Namekians would be at him. They were supposed to act as a shield, blowing things up was the complete opposite of that. Part of him said that he should have cleaned up the mess, but he decided to ignore it until he was yelled at for it. He was also glad to see that at least one of them was laughing. As funny as his act was, the Avatar of War was worried. Whenever his emotions swam around like that, fire always erupted. Would he be able to maintain it on Namek, with all that was going on? He probably should have been scared and dealt with it, but he decided to ignore it for the time being. Maybe things would get better for him. A blank expression then took over his face the moment the Lightning Lord paused. Was there more truth that needed to be revealed? Since Chishan was there for him, he decided to do the same. His face became serious the moment he heard that it was about Agatha. Right away he felt like he already knew what it was going to be about. The mystery of her little accident was eating at him and he honestly wanted to know more about it. “Go on,” a simple response came out of Walid, “You can tell me anything.” TWC: Nearing Chishan’s Child Support Payment |

Chishan hadn't expressed this to anyone else. It had been a feeling that continued to build slowly inside of him after everything that happened with Maker and Zaine. In truth, it was probably safe to say that he had rumblings of this even before all of the pain and suffering events had transpired. He couldn't quite pin it down either way. But he needed to talk about it with someone. And preferably someone neutral. Ish. Neutral-ish. "I love her, Walid," He said quietly, as if he didn't know that. "More than anyone else I've ever met or loved before. She's...everything to me. She has been since the moment I first kissed her. Kais, I haven't even told her that," He laughed it off a bit, rubbing the back of his head. "And I was terrified of telling her for a long time because...I was afraid to lose her. It was actually Bulma that helped me prepare to tell her. She's a nomad and a traveler and she never wanted to get tied down and honestly I knew I'd never try to, I'd always want to go with her. To travel the stars and the galaxy with her. Because there's no one else in this ludicrous life that makes me feel like this. That I'm a person, not just a title, not just a brute from a savage race. I matter...because she makes me matter." He smiled softly. "I meant what I said. I can't imagine wanting to be with anyone else. She's everything to me. And I'll admit it still terrifies me a little to tell her that. I've never felt like this before for anyone else. It's..." He trailed off and let out another laugh. "...silly, I know. I'm sorry; I'm just rambling at this point." He looked back to Walid. "Thank you though. For listening." WC: Over Walid's Post Count |

He nodded and nodded over again after he listened to his friends words. From what he slowly gathered, Chishan seemed to have the same problem he had. He loved the red-haired Gypsy but was too afraid to let her know. It wasn’t quite like his, but it felt like the same to him. Part of him could also related to how Agatha felt. There was once a time when he was a wanderer, heck he still was one. Would he feel the same way though, he wondered? Would he also not want to be tied down and shackled for the rest of his life? That, however, was a question for another day. He knew what he needed to do, he needed to be the friend he wanted to be for the Saiyan. He just… hoped he didn’t ruin anything. The right words hardly ever came to him. “Let’s see,” he started off, “You want her to know that she’s the only one for her, but you’re afraid you’ll lose her in the process. I can’t say that I’m good when it comes to advice, it also doesn’t help that I wouldn’t know what I would do in that situation.” Already he felt like he was off to a bad start. What kind of help was that, telling his friend that he didn’t have any advice for him? What could he possibly say next that could possibly being helpful? “But from what I’ve been told, she makes you happy and the vice versa,” the pink-haired warrior went on, “You’re the Lightning Lord right? Just be the Lighting that jolts up her world!” Walid then flashed off a pose to strengthen his words. If he possessed the ability to, he also would have fired off strands of electricity, but sadly he didn’t. “I’m not saying you should put a ring on her,” he continued to say, “But you’re not going to be able to avoid this forever. You’ll have to eventually tell her how you feel.” WC: Over the amount of warrior’s in Chishan’s Army |

Chishan's hand naturally went behind his head and began to scratch absent-mindedly. Walid wrapped up the gist of what the Saiyan was trying to say and it made him chuckle just a little bit. "It's not so much that I'm afraid I'll lose her. It's more...she's never been in a relationship like ours before. This is the first time she's committed to one person. I just don't want to freak her out by making it seem things are moving too quickly." But what was too quickly in this universe of theirs? Danger lurked around every corner; super-powered beings that could wipe out entire civilizations with the flick of a wrist, destroy planets with just a bit of concentration. And the group of them, the Guardians, were all willing to throw themselves into the thick of those possibly lethal situations. The fact that Agatha and Chishan had been together this long without losing each other was actually more impressive than anything else, given their lifestyles. And when one has something good in their life, they should strive to hold onto it. Walid took a page out of Chishan's book and opted to deliver his own play on words involving the Saiyan's title. It made him laugh again; not as boisterous as before but still rather loud and energetic. It lasted until Walid made things very real by mentioning a ring. The laugh became a bit nervous and the slightest blush ran across his face. Had he been thinking about that next step...? "Yeah, I guess I will have to tell her. Sooner probably rather than later," He admitted, changing the subject of it real damn quick. He let out a breath, releasing his nerves in one straight go. "Thanks Walid. I appreciate the advice." He saw him blush and part of the pink-haired warrior wanted to let out a laugh. Before he’d actually done that, he didn’t have any room to judge. In fact if he were in the Saiyan’s shoes, he would have run off probably. It did make him wonder though; he was told that he was afraid that Agatha would freak out after something like that. Was it actually the other way around, was the mighty Lightning Lord the one that would do that instead? Nonetheless he didn’t pry deep into that subject. Once again the Avatar of War couldn’t talk about something that he’d react the same way about. He did, however, decide to lend one piece of advice. It wasn’t so much as advice as it was a suggestion. He felt so out of character doing it as well; it wasn’t like him to really offer his services like that for something romantic. “I will say this though,” he first said, “If you didn’t know, I do know how to play the guitar. I can always y’know help you serenade her~ I can help you sweep her off her feet like she’s swept into your heart~” Walid then hated the fact that he didn’t have that ability his friend did where could teleport places. It would have strengthened his argument had he actually had his instrument on him. He felt like it also wasn’t needed, but he was flashy, he loved to show off.
