Opening his eyes to reveal a serene, warm setting, Oji found himself sitting atop a tile ring within a forest. The branches of the thick oaks rustled in the gentle wind overhead, and beams of sunlight shone through their crevices. In the distance, Oji could hear the gentle movement of a river. Gazing down at his side, the young Celestial saw that his steel sword was still strapped to him. Grabbing onto the handle of the blade, Oji unsheathed it and held the sword vertically in front of him. He was glad he was able to bring it into this domain, though he mischievously wondered if he could have made it bigger. Yet the sword itself had such significance to him that he probably wouldn’t have changed it’s appearance even if the thought had occurred to him before coming to this plane. It was an important gift from an old, retired swordsman whom Oji had once saved. In return for the young Celestial’s actions, the old master gave Oji his own sword. Oji was reluctant to accept the gift, having never used a weapon before, but eventually accepted it after the old man’s insistence. Apparently, the old blade master had seen great potential in the way Oji handled himself with it. Gently swinging the blade from side to side, Oji knew that he was out of practice with the weapon. He rarely used it on his Paladin missions, since he abhorred killing others. And because of a blade’s inherent deadliness, Oji often kept it back at the barracks unless the mission was dangerous enough. However, during one of his previous spars, he had seen a powerful warrior use a staff to deflect off an array of Oji’s own ki blasts. The ability to use a weapon with such efficiency to eliminate a threat without causing harm was something Oji was interested in learning. So, upon entering this plane, Oji had focused his meditation on thinking of Whis, almost as if he were trying to send a message to the Celestial Hybrid. For now, Oji continued to warm up with slow strikes, focusing on fluid movements with his arms and swift footwork. ----- Oji WC: 361 |

Whis really did have things that he needed to do and yet every time he had started to think about doing it, something came up. The work with Grand Elder Guru was going well and he had almost acquired all the information he needed, but still during the downtime of the conversation he needed some entertainment. Since Lord Guru was its own situation he let his mind drift to the Astral Realm hoping the scenario he would find there would be entertaining. Sitting around and waiting was not that fun really. He popped into the realm to see a young warrior he had a few meetings with already. He had tried to teach him about this realm and what it could do and so when he heard the call he figured that this man was starting to figure it out, that or he was simply very lucky. Possibly unlucky if he ever angered Whis or Beerus though; the attendant now knew how easy it was to find Oji. Appearing right behind the celestial, Whis watched as he moved through some tactical fighting drills before he finally turned around and faced the mysterious mentor. Holding up his hand as if to calm down Oji he spoke, ”It is good to see you again. I can see you are getting better at your skills. You even managed to call out to me through this realm; did you know you did that?” It was at that point that Whis noticed the sword that Oji was in possession of. He gave a slight grin, ”Taking up the usage of weapons I see, I have always found them interesting myself. When used properly they can change a battle very quickly in the wielders favor.” As he finished his statement Whis summoned forth his own weapon. This time though it wasn’t his customary staff, this time it was the Ancient Blade of the Saiyan King. The glowing blue sword looked to radiate with power and while he had little connection to it, the weapon itself was very impressive. WC: 342 Whis has Combat Rune |

Turning around, Oji was glad to see Whis, and was even more pleased to hear that apparently he did indeed manage to send a message to Celestial Hybrid. The idea of sending telepathic messages to another being specifically only occurred to him during his previous spar with the God of Destruction, Beerus. When Oji had gone into the Astral Plane, his thoughts were centered on his very first encounter with the god, and lo and behold, Beerus had appeared before him. Though it wasn’t confirmed then, Oji was suspicious that perhaps he had sent some sort of signal to Beerus. “Thank you, master, I still haven’t gone to Kanassa like you recommended, but I have been spending much time on my meditation. The Astral Plane truly is a marvelous place,” Oji stated. Then, the young Celestial’s eyes widened as he witnessed a blade being summoned by the majestic attendant. The blade’s appearance was striking, and it glowed with a radiating blue hue. Perhaps it contained some supernatural properties behind it. Or perhaps it was channeling Whis’s own energy through it? Either way, it was an impressive sight. His eyes wavering with wonder, Oji inquired, “What kind of blade is that?” After waiting patiently for a response, Oji then decided not to waste the higher being’s time any longer. “Please, if you wouldn’t mind giving me a demonstration of your ability,” Oji stated respectfully. The Celestial paused for a bit, not knowing exactly how to bow with the blade properly, he eventually brought the blade straight down to his side and brought one hand up, fingers extended vertically in a knifehand in front of his face as he bowed. Then, slowing leaning back on his back heel leg, Oji extended the blade downwards in front of him with his other hand held up above him. Oji took a deep breath as he waited for Whis’s attack. ----- Oji WC: 315/676 |

![]() It had been sometime since the mysterious mentor had even thought about wielding a sword because of the might of his own personal Staff, but he did have an assortment of weapons at his beckon call if he ever needed them. This was probably his second most prized of the bunch. It was his staff, this sword and then the staff of the Namekian Grand Elder that Whis favored the most. He looked it over as he heard the request of the young warrior. He was slightly concerned that the celestial didn’t know what he was really asking for. Whis shrugged, ”This blade is that of an Ancient King. It holds powers within it that not even former owners truly grasp in its entirety, but it truly is powerful.” The attendant held out the blade towards Oji allowing him to feel the cold air radiating off of it even from this distance. The weapon was truly to be feared no matter which side of it you were on. It was one of the reasons Whis didn’t utilize it as much as he would have any other weapon. There was something that not even he had yet to figure out completely about the mythical blade. He closed his eyes briefly, allowing his mind to clear so that he could utilize the weapon at the best of his ability. When he opened them back up he looked right at Oji who had created some distance between them, ”I might be a little rusty, but please still be on complete guard, I am afraid that you might need to be if you want to see more.” With that Whis moved forward, not even at his maximum speed, but as he gripped the sword he felt the urge to inflict punishment on his target. Fighting it off he controlled his body before striking with a serious of three consecutive blows in rapid succession. The first a slash across the chest, then he brought the blast up looking to cut across the first slice before finally shifting his grip and striking in a downwards arcing motion across the shoulder of his target. He hoped Oji would survive, but he was ready to heal him just in case he was only holding on in the Astral Realm barely after the attacks. WC: 385 Whis WC: 727 |

An ancient king’s blade…? Oji pondered the significance of such a historic weapon. However, it wasn’t long before Whis went on the attack. Watching his opponent’s shoulders to get a glimpse of any telegraphed indications of a strike, Oji prepared for a counter strike. However, Whis moved so swiftly that he was barely able to block the first strike that came down across his chest. Though the Celestial managed to block it slightly, the impressive blue blade still slit the top of his chest. Keeping his sword close to his body and bracing the broad side of the blade with his free hand, Oji tried his best to block the next two strikes. Sparks flew from the second strike as Oji barely blocked it, yet the next strike struck him cleanly across the shoulder. The young Celestial leapt back, catching his bloodied sword with his other free hand as his right hand fell limb. Chuckling as he gazed down at his own blood upon his blade, Oji was furthermore impressed by how realistic everything felt and seemed in this realm. Returning his gaze to Whis, he could tell that the mystical being was holding back ever so slightly, either because he was indeed rusty or simply because he didn’t want to finish Oji off too soon. Either ways, Oji was impressed with Whis’s ability to handle such a sword. “I know it perhaps doesn’t mean much to hear a compliment from me, but even though your blade is quite impressive on its own, I do know that a sword is only as powerful as its wielder, and you seem to wield it with such ease. It must’ve taken you a long time to become this skilled?” Oji said as he respectfully bowed his head. Knowing that he wouldn’t last another attack from Whis, Oji had to go on the offensive. Erecting his posture upwards as he pointed the end of his blade towards the hybrid, Oji swiftly darted forward. He sent a quick thrust towards the weapon wielding hand of Whis, but then quickly retracted the blade downwards as he swung in a circular cut towards Whis’s torso. Continuing the motion and allowing the momentum of the swing to carry him further, Oji spun his blade in another circular cut to the higher being’s head. Now, he merely wanted to test his speed, and perhaps timing, against the swordsmanship of Whis. ----- Oji WC: 401/1,077 |

Oji was starting to show some progression, but his technique was not yet where it really needed to be. He was clearly training and while he showed a great deal of skill the swordmanship of Whis, whether he claimed to be out of practice or not was still very obvious. The compliment was nice to hear, but it wasn’t really necessary either. The hybrid was always a little cocky with his talents so he didn’t really worry about making someone look bad in situations like this. If someone wanted to get better they would need something to chase, a goal to achieve. As his opponent went to lash out at his hand Whis turned over the blade crashing it upwards in a violent manner. The strike of the hilt of his sword against the blade of Oji’s weapon caused a verbration effect which seemed to null any strike that he was trying to utilize. It also seemed to send the Celestial in a tail spin. Whis tilted backwards not knowing what was going on until he realized that it was in fact the plan of Oji to perform his next strike. Allowing it to connect was clearly not an option. Just before the blade was about to strike the hybrid vanished allowing the sword to cut only through air. Seconds later the frosty weapon was placed across the neck of Oji. Whis waited only a moment for his opponent to realize what was going on then pulled the weapon away calmly causing it to disappear and his own staff appeared in its place, as now he was much more reserved, ”Even with the power of that weapon I still prefer this for some reason. Maybe next time we meet I can show you why.” WC: 294 Whis WC: Over 1k |
