The Avatar of War
|
Jax Ever since they landed onto Namek there was something that bothered the Avatar of War. He noticed that the blue-haired woman had a sword... and to his knowledge she didn't seem like someone who would use that. He knew that she was in a war, but he was told that she was a medic. The pink-haired warrior was curious to know how well she was with it, a reoccuring spar with weapons was something he longed for. "So Bulma," he said he finally found her, "You never told me that you used a sword." Yanny Boy Bulma wasn’t one to take much time to recover. Sure, she’d panic with the right triggers, but once the danger was passed, it was passed. That’s a bit of how she felt about Rubic. Her blade had easily been put away, and the meeting had gone through and now was the time for a short breather. At least, that’s what she thought it’d be. Walid caught her off guard, and his question more so. She raised an eyebrow, her jaw hanging slightly open, before she closed it and looked down to her arm. “Something like that,” she admits, before looking back to him. “I’m good with a rifle too, but a sword also offers defense,” she explains, giving him a small shrug. She pauses, then looks to him a bit guiltily. It only lasted for a second though as she remember the whole situation more clearly. She had not just been caught pulling out her weapon, Walid had gone and charged in. “And just what did you think you were hoping to achieve attacking an RBC Unit in a crowded village?” Jax Beams of sweat fell from Walid's forehead the moment Bulma asked him about his actions. He had honestly hoped that everyone would have forgotten about that. At the same time, he also knew that he needed to explain himself. Much like the other things in his life, he had to stop avoiding the issue. Where would that get him? "I'm really not sure what I was hoping to accomplish," he started off, "But I had a tendency to get out of control, more so when people like that are at risk." The Avatar of War probably could have left things there, but that wouldn't have been a full explaination. He wanted to inform him of everything so that there wouldn't be any surprises down the road. His reasoning probably would only make the situtation worse. "Though that's not the full reason why, where I'm from, fighting is like a formal greeting," he explained, "It's something that I've learned that I need to change before I give people the wrong idea..." Yanny Boy Bulma makes a small face at his first explanation, obviously not accepting that kind of excuse. She had much more faith in Walid than that. He might have a tendency to cause chaos, but he was not that out of control. At least, that’s what she thought, and what she saw in him. It was completely possible she was wrong. As he continued though, her frown deepened and she let out a sigh. “Walid...RBC Units...Well, Rubic is different, but not really. They function purely on logic, there’s no emotion. There’s no gut feeling or room for understanding. They think in black and white,” she explains, a bit wearily. “If Chishan hadn’t stopped you there would be nothing we could say to prove you were not a threat.” She looks to him, her brow knitted and her eyes immensely sad as she imagined the trouble that would have caused. Rubic would not have stopped until Walid was destroyed. They could have lost him, or Rubic, or both, so early in the game. It was not a time for rash behavior. Jax The details that he was given about Rubic made Walid wonder if that was the reason why he disliked android. They weren't human, they didn't always go through what organic beings did. Most of them had no choice but to do whatever they were programmed to do. With that kind of risk, he didn't feel comfortable being around any of them. "You're completely right," he said, ignoring the fact that she usually was a majority of the time, "I'd apologize, but I don't think that would be enough. I could have really destroyed all the efforts we were trying to work for." Without even realizing it, Walid realized what else could have happened if a full out assault was brought forth. Not only he'd be at risk, but everyone in the Guardians could have been as well. What if he would have to experience the loss he once went through before. "I'll do what I can to make sure that doesn't happen again," he added and then made a joke, "I'll just imagine you smacking me before I do it, that should help." Yanny Boy She could see the understanding pass over Walid’s face, followed by an almost anxiety, and it kept her from being too angry. Well, she wasn’t completely angry to begin with. Something about Walid made her give him a pass, most of the time. It was probably because he was so naive, and yet at the same time he kept such an open mind that such a simple explanation could set him back on course. He wasn’t like Chishan who she felt should know better and when he didn’t sometimes got stubborn in what he did know. “Next time, I will smack you,” she says, waving a finger at him. Next time he would not have not knowing as an excuse, and if he came at her as “this is just how I work” she would definitely punch him. Without a doubt. “I also acted a bit rashly,” she adds, pursing her lips. “I shouldn’t have pulled out a weapon. He was here because of Aria, to help aid the village. They wouldn’t have just allowed an RBC unit inside without good reason. It was stupid of me.” Jax Her confirmination about whether or not he'd recieve a blow from her was enough to make him never want to do something stupid like that. From Chishan, it wouldn't have mattered to him one way or another. From Bulma, he felt like it would have done more damage than the fist itself. He partially doubted that she had enough strength to put him out, but he wasn't one to test the waters to find out for himself. "We all do stupid stuff," he said, not wanting to pour salt into the wound, "Besides..." The pink-haired warrior then paused to stare at Bulma. A smile was plastered all over his face. "You didn't do anything did you," he added, "Sure the weapon was out, but you didn't attack with it. That counts for something." Yanny Boy “Mn,” Bulma lets out in agreement, but it was clear from her face she still didn’t buy it. “Technically, he attacked me first,” she says with a small sigh, lifting her left arm and fiddling with the controls absently. “He took out my tech,” she explains, her gaze unfocusing as it read over the information from the scouter lense against her eye. She was already planning around new code based on the information Rubic had displayed in getting around it, but it would take time. “I quite dislike people messing with my tech,” she admits, then looks back to him with a weak smile. “But he is a good friend of Chishan’s, so I’ll have to forgive him this time.” Jax "Tech?" he was at first confused. Did the android move faster than he thought? He didn't see any kind of attack. It finally hit him that she was referring to a gadget of some kind. Part of him wanted to know more about what kind of device he took, while another told him that it was better that he didn't know. She was a tech whiz, but he was a technology's worst enemy. That was one reason he wondered if it was okay for him to live at Capsule Corporation... What if he destroyed the place? "I could always help you get it back," he joked, "But yeah, that's partially why I didn't want to attack. I'm not sure if I told you this before but... I don't really like androids and don't really trust them." Yanny Boy Bulma blinks, then laughs a little. “He didn’t steal it,” she explains still smiling. “He took it out, wirelessly. Like hacked into my system and stopped it functioning.” She was still more than a bit peeved about it. It brought back all her frustrations during the war, and made her feel the same kind of powerless. On the other hand, he gave her things to improve and work on, but boy did it pinch a nerve when he said it only took a second to tear it down. Sometimes, all you needed was a second, but more time was still the better option. “I should probably get back to work in fixing it,” she says making a small face, and completely forgetting about his point in approaching her. Jax If there was an egg on hand, it would have been slapped right onto the Avatar of War's face. Her explaination did make him wonder though. He always saw her as a super genuis who was capable of many things. Who could hack into something she had? Was it the Steel Legion's Queen at work? He, however, stopped worrying over it. If the blue-haired woman wasn't that upset about it, he figured that he probably shouldn't either. "Hey I'm always here to help you out," he said as he made a pose, "I'll be your muscle!" His offer to help her with things that invovled fiddling with technology was always on the table. He was hoping it'd give them more time to do things together, but at the same time he knew that it was probably useless. Walid was a walking disaster and that was one thing that should never enter a lab. Yanny Boy Bulma smiles easily and nods. “This time it’s more just coding and the like, but I’ll definitely take you up on that the next time I need a hand,” she agrees, not exactly sure when that would be. She didn’t have any plans right then, but who knows what kind of things she might have to help repair or rebuild while they were here. Chishan would probably be the better choice for muscle, considering he was also a tinkerer too, but she appreciated Walid’s enthusiasm. It might be a good thing to get him to learn a thing or two. She didn’t think he’d be that much of a disaster with the right instruction. Jax Coding? He didn’t understand what that was and felt like it was better that he didn’t know about it. That, however, didn’t stop him from thinking about it. He knew what codes were and wondered if that was part of it. People used those to get into secret areas like a basement to a bar or a lost temple on Kelioux. Was that the same thing with technology? All that thinking then caused the pink-haired warrior’s head to spin. “And hey in return I could always assist me with that sword,” he said, not forgetting that he knew about it, “It’s been awhile since I’ve trained on a routine with someone with one.” Walid then stopped himself right there because of the last time he asked Bulma if she wanted to train with him. It reminded him of the time when he trained at Capsule Corporation and went all out against a robot. He wondered if that was enough to scare her from ever training with him. “I mean I’ll be sure to tone down of course,” he added with a nervous laugh. Yanny Boy Bulma blinks once more at the suggestion. She tilted her head, obviously not seeing the benefit she could offer. She really wasn’t much of a fighter, at least that’s what she kept saying to herself. After the training skirmish with Chishan, she felt even more unsure of herself even though he had gone to lengths to assure her. Fighting was...difficult for her. An unsure smile came to her lips though as he finished. “You would definitely have to,” she agrees, then shrugs a little. “I’m not sure how much I’d really assist,” she adds, looking away as she thought back to the times she’d ducked him for this previously. He did like his training didn’t he? “But, we’ll see.” |
