Juch: Yan VS Juch Juch's ship still stood in the docking bay. He had already obtained clearance to leave the planet at tomorrow morning, so it's just a matter of making sure that the businesses that he wanted finished were finished on Damaskia. And of course, planning for the trip towards Kelioux. There were some things better done here than over there, despite the fact that he was returning back to his home turf. For example, it was simpler to check out on various armaments here than on Kelioux if he wanted to stay a little more subtle. With his briefcase in tow, the android moved away from the market shops, heading back towards his ship. Yan: He should be celebrating. So many good things had happened. Things were all falling into place. He should be pleased. Instead, Yan sat at the bottom of Juch’s boarding ramp with his head in his hands, appearing beaten down and exhausted. It was not the first time Juch would find him as such, and just like the many times before, when the man addressed him he’d likely pop back up, laid back and untouchable. Such displays of vulnerability never lasted. He took the time alone to sulk, but he did not like to complain. He had done enough of that. Lifting his head slowly, his dark eyes stared at the ground for a moment, then he dug into his pocket to pull out another cigarillo. There was a small carefully made pile of filters next to his left foot. He’d been sitting there for some time apparently, waiting for Juch’s return and almost missing the company of Mr. Fields. Almost. He lit it up and took an absent drag, closing his eyes once more and sighing out the smoke. Juch: It took a while to move from the market to the docking bay, what with the increased security around these parts. Apparently the police force was a little on edge, with some whispers about 'recent incidents' and whatnot. Juch didn't know what sort of things had happened recently, but he moved past the checkpoints with little problem. As he entered the silent garage, the android noted a pinpoint of light sitting at the foot of his ship. He approached without speaking, as the figure underneath the dim light became more apparent. "Yan." It seemed as if a switch had turned on for the redhead, but Juch's eyes traveled over Mister Cass' form as he stood in front of him, not offering up another word during the examination. Yan: As expected, Yan immediately smiled at Juch’s weak greeting. It was a little strained. He still looked tired, or perhaps strung out. Too many drugs in one day’ll do that to a person, and even someone as experienced as Yan couldn’t hide all the adverse effects. “Juch,” he says in turn, then he laughs. “You’re serious as usual,” he notes, pushing himself up, scooping up the butts as he went. “Too serious~” he adds with a smirk. Juch: Juch quirked an eyebrow at Yan. The younger man seemed a little more battered than usual, but as to the reason why, the android hadn't fathomed yet. However, his gaze covered the small pile of filters that Mister Cass had scooped up, and spoke simply, "Have I kept you waiting?" He then moved up the ramp and unlocked the door, ignoring the redhead's jab at his seriousness--though this wasn't exactly helping his case here--expecting Yan to follow suit. Yan: Yan nods, though he was obviously untroubled by the wait. He pocketed his hands, slipping the trash inside, and followed him up the ramp. “I almost died today. Not really, but it got people worried,” he says, keeping his smirk. It seemed to genuinely amuse him. For one, that they thought he could die so easily was funny, and for two, the look on Tomoko’s face was still quite classic. He could feel her worry then, and it surprised him, but it was Anna’s who weighed more heavily. “It was a busy day overall,” he explains holding in a sigh. “I had to fight, fuck, cook, and calm.” Juch: With his slippers on, the android placed his suitcase by the door as he removed his overcoat and scarf, humming to himself, "Hoh? Is that so?" "Since when were you that easy to kill, hm?" his hands picked up the container once more as Juch closed the door, assuming that Yan had entered the ship as well, "Well, why don't you tell me about it?" Yan: “That’s how I felt about it, but they got worried anyway,” Yan says with a soft hum. He slipped his own shoes off at the door, as was habit now, and found the spare pair of slippers. He took one final drag of his newly lit cigarette then blew it out the door and put it out on his portable ashtray. Bloody Jantellovene would kick his ass if he smoked in the ship, which he wouldn’t have minded, but he almost thought she might do something worse. Either way, he’d rather test it with her on board then risk Juch getting into trouble for it on his own. “Not much to tell,” he adds. “I did finally settle my debt with Beerus though, and I might have suggested he find you.” The purple cat was a thorn in his side, but he was also useful. He had gotten on his good side, but he wanted to see how Juch would play with him. He was much better with people than Yan was, at least when it came to maintaining and controlling. Yan was too impatient to try and control people. He rather rile them up, which was why the God of Destruction was so boring to him. He was too easily riled up and he always did the same thing in response to it: blow shit up. Juch: "Hmm, so you got them to care enough to get worried; it's a step forward, I'd think," Juch moved into the living quarters, dropping the briefcase by the door of his office before moving towards the kitchen. Well, at least Yan had the decency to stop the smoke. He only told him off about it once, in the end, "I would be more impressed if Beerus was included in 'them'," he continued, pausing in front of one of the cabinets, "Tea this time, or something else?" Yan: Yan smiles a little, but it wasn’t that much of an accomplishment. Maybe for Tomoko. That woman, normally she could not see past herself. It had taken almost two years for him to weave his way under her skin. He had been the pick-upee for so long, something to keep her entertained, but eventually she got used to him being there. That was the trick. People loved routine, and if you stuck around long enough to be part of one, you were sure to be missed. “Oh, he sort of was,” he says, gaining a grin. “He didn’t want me to die before I fed him. It was a worry over his stomach? Now that that debt is settled, he won’t just show up when I need him to…” he explains, touching his lip with his index finger. That would be inconvenient. It had been entertaining by itself to use Sosa into luring him to his play sites, but now he would not jump to the call. Well, maybe he would. Yan had pleased him with his cooking. If he offered him more than maybe that would be as effective. Would it be worth it though, he had to wonder. “I’m always for tea,” he adds, reaching into his blazer and pulling out a capsule. With the simple push of a button, a breif case appeared for him, but he easily offered it to Juch. “Kranzer’s nondisclosure agreements as requested.” Juch: Juch clicked his tongue, "By the Lost, was he that enarmored with that meal? What did you say to him to bring out such a response?" "Well, at least he won't be hunting you down anymore, which is a plus in my book--you may not think of it as such, but I can see if an alternative arrangement could be feasible," at Yan's affirmation, the professor removed the tea set from the cabinet. His eyes glanced over at the briefcase that Yan provided for him, and offered a 'good. Very good' before procuring some water for the tea, "Open it for me, will you? I'll take a look when the water is heating up." Yan: “He was that enamored. I seriously only offered in passing and the guy got obsessed,” Yan says not withholding a laugh. It was terribly ridiculous, but he supposed being a god left you with that kind of free time. He only nodded as Juch continued though, making his way to the couch and setting the case on the table. He opened it easily, and pulled out the large packet he had forced the sergeant to go through. He had signed appropriately himself as witness, though Juch would have very bad luck if he wanted him to sign something of the same. “He sure showed me up today,” Yan says absently, turning the subject onto Kranzer. “I want to take him to a ki specialist when we get to Kelioux. He’s got more than his body can handle. Haven’t seen nothing like it in a while.” Juch: Juch let out a chuckle, shaking his head as he finished up the preparations. The cheerful bubbling from the kettle would have to wait--the fire had only just started, "I think there are better ways to spend time." The android did not hold back at a smirk at the extensive documentation at Kranzer had to deal with. Be careful what you wish for, for the monkey will sometimes give you exactly what you said. Fortunately, this was what Juch had wanted, and sat down on the couch beside Yan to peruse through the papers, "I know the good ones," it was an absent minded response, as the android was evidently more focused on reading, "Depending on what sort of ki you're looking at, I can take a look at him myself." "So, what exactly have you told that soldier of yours about what we're doing?" Yan: “I was actually thinking of someone from Kibune,” he admits, for the first time actually speaking of one of the outer terraformed cities. Yan had hinted his intimate knowledge of Kelioux, and he was just that kind of bad egg to get involved with those kinds of folks, so it probably wouldn’t surprise the professor, except for the fact he would be trusting some outlaw over the renown one’s Juch was speaking of. The people of Kibune were known for their trafficking, not their science. They were business people, quick to do anything to make a zeni. There was no known name in ki study out there, nor should there be, but Yan apparently knew of someone. He leaned back, lacing his fingers together and smiled easily. “I don’t want him to think I trust you, nor do I want Adel to understand what he’s capable of,” he explains, tapping his fingers on the back of his hands. “It might be fun.” “As for what he knows...well, not much,” Yan says with another smile. “He understands I’ve been sanctioned by the emperor to do as I please, and that’s enough for him to follow.” Juch: "Mm," there was nothing about that reaction that showed that Juch had taken offense to Yan's preference. He did know of Kibune--he had traveled there a few times for business, and for...work--but the shady realms there haven't produced any scholarly talent for quite some time. However, Juch's control did not extend to Kranzer, so he released the matter from his grasp easily and without challenge. "He shouldn't think that I trust you after I made him go through with this bureaucratic nonsense," the professor chuckled, "But you followed the procedure to a tee. Good." "Well, if you're going to Kibune anyways, it'd save me the trouble of going there myself," Juch murmured as he turned the page, "Hmm, interesting." Yan: Yan smiles slightly and nods, remembering Kranzer’s annoyance. He wasn’t sure the soldier thought that much about trust. Yan had asked him his thoughts and they hadn’t proved intense. He saw conflict as Yan wished he see it, but he had not thought any deeper than that, at least not yet. The smile faded at Juch’s last comment, shifting to a guarded curiosity. “What do you need from Kibune?” he asks, almost hesitant. He wasn’t sure if this was business of business or Juch’s main work. Could it be called his main work? Yan wasn’t sure. He wondered how welcome Juch would be to do business in Kibune considering that work. They did not like the police, and did not find comfort in filling their pockets for security. They were happier drawing blood. But Juch was more careful than that, he was sure, and so his curiosity remained. Juch: Juch turned another page, not sparing Yan a glance, even as the redhead's expression changed, "Mmhm, interesting," evidently, his attention was still more focused on the dull rambles of the paperwork, but he soon supplied a complementary afterthought, "Well, I wanted to deliver a message to someone there by hand. So it depends on when you were planning on going there, I'd say." He looked up from the packet, "What do you think about Kibune and Cactaylisma?" it was an out of blue question, but then again, Juch had the habit of changing topics when not necessarily changing topics. Yan: Yan held back from asking “Who?” immediately. He didn’t want even Juch to know how intimately he was involved with the city. He was too involved, if he was honest, and bringing Kranzer there was a slightly risky move. There was a woman there he wanted to meet again though, and he thought she would be the best choice for Kranzer’s “problem.” So he brushed it off, and waited for Juch to continue on his own. What he replied with made Yan raise a brow. “Kibune with royalty…” he starts, obviously finding the idea ridiculous. He shrugs though. “They certainly have their similarities, but Kibune is small time in comparison. They like living in their little bubble, branching out sometimes for kicks, but nothing like Lecorix,” he offers, before giving him a look to ask what he was getting at. Juch: "Mhm, a good start," the android nodded, leaning back on the couch. His cheek was cupped by one of his palms, and he leaned into his hand, "But Lecorix is just a figurehead. It's organized crime supported by a government, but that government...well, that's a different story, unrelated to this." "Now, given your understanding of Kibune, how do they compete with Lecorix's Star Wolves and Siberus' Suicide Station now? Consider the same question if Kibune obtains similar resources as the other two." Juch: 1033 Yan: 1430 |
