Continued from here

He had gotten much of the same feeling from many of the people he had met on Earth, but truthfully Earth was not the only planet like that. Many planets were like that and it was why Lord Beerus found himself destroying so many worlds. They truly didn’t understand or pay the proper respects. At least so far this girl was doing both, still a few things seemed odd to Whis. The top of that list was the fact that she almost seemed to want to meet Lord Beerus. If she knew who he was, then most people want to avoid the destroyer. It wasn’t like he was seen as a friendly guy; at least with her though it made some sense. It was her way, her beliefs and from what he could tell her gift.

Either way, those were all questions to ask another time. He wanted to know more, but the final piece of the meal was still looking at him dead in the eyes. She had built up the meal as being common up to this point, but even pointed out that this was her favorite dessert. Whis even appreciated how she presented it to him. So nicely cut out and the smell was truly engaging. He summoned forth a new clean fork before using it to pick up the dessert and slowly place it in his mouth so that he could enjoy it completely. Bite after bite the attendant to the God of Destruction seemed almost stoic as he devoured the treat letting the taste be absorbed in its entirety. No distractions, just Whis and the baklava to savor.

As he finished chewing and absorbing the taste he swallowed the food allowing it to settle into his system. It was at that point that he started bouncing back and forth almost wildly, weaving his upper body back and forth as his arms moved with him at such a pace that he seemed to almost have multiple arms. ”Absolutely marvelous! DELICIOUS!!!” Whis proclaimed almost with a tear in his eye as he did so. He then took a deep breath and looked back at the young girl he was engaging in this meal with, ”If you do ever get to meet Lord Beerus, I would suggest offering him this as well. You might make an unexpected friend that way.”

In truth, Agatha was an odd woman. She was curious almost to the point of recklessness sometimes, her drive for knowledge and her love of history and anthropology often putting her in situations that no mortal in their right mind would ever willingly step into. The most prime example, of course, being the time several months ago that she'd met the Changeling King Cold in the astral realm. Much to Agatha's disgust, Cold had become rather quickly enchanted by her to the point where he actually proposed, offering to make her a queen and inviting her to live with him on Frieza-sei. The gypsy had managed to hold back the nausea she'd gotten from the idea of being married to a tyrant to politely decline the offer... but she did accept his invitation to visit the planet under his protection, so she could learn more about their culture and see the place in a way that no non-changeling ever could.

It was an opportunity she wouldn't turn down... even if she knew it was a trap to get her on the planet and never let her leave.

It was that part of her personality that made her so interested in potentially getting the opportunity to meet Beerus. Was he the God of Destruction? Oh yes. Did he have all the reputation and power to back that up? Absolutely. Would that stop her? Not a chance. The gypsy would certainly be scared as hell to be standing in the Destroyer's presence, but she only had one life and she wasn't going to let her fears define it.

However, it was Whis that was before her now, and Agatha found herself quite taken with the being. He ate the baklava rather meticulously, his expression never once so much as twitching to indicate his thoughts on the dessert. In all honesty, it made her a bit nervous -- though she masked that well by focusing on her own treat. Agatha was caught very much by surprise when the deity dropped all pretenses of formality and practically started bouncing in his seat. She laughed outright, covering her mouth with her hand as she expressed her delight and entertainment. "I'm glad you enjoyed it," the gypsy told him with a smile.

He suggested she bring some of that if she ever meet Beerus, and Agatha nodded. "Provided I have enough warning, I'll be sure to make him and you both a pan each of it," she promised with a playful wink, honestly wishing she'd brought more so he could have seconds. "May I ask what brings you to Namek, my lord?" The curious question was asked in a tone that made it clear she certainly didn't expect him to answer if it was a private or classified matter, but she wasn't afraid to ask and be social with him nonetheless.

His reaction to the tasty dessert was almost shocking from the reaction he got back from the young lady. She had been so respectful throughout the meeting, even almost fearful with respect, but at that moment she couldn’t hold back and busted out laughing. If Whis wasn’t aware of his own reactions to things he enjoyed he would have thought it to be insulting, but he understood he did get overly excited from time to time. He did love himself some delicious foods.

He didn’t take offense to it, but right after she gathered herself and expressed her desire to meet Lord Beerus as well the conversation shifted to something else; something much more interesting as she questioned why Whis was on Namek in the first place. It was a question that he couldn’t answer directly. His work for the God of Destruction wasn’t open for others to know and when something was going on it was up only to Lord Beerus to decide when to share that information with those he desired to share it with in the first place.

Whis wasn’t going to lie to the nice girl who had given him some of her own food either. That wouldn’t have been respectful and he always wanted to act with respect and honor. He gave a large grin before speaking hoping she would get the basic idea without him having to say anything outright, ”I came here just to visit another world. I know it sounds boring, but Lord Beerus had asked me to travel to a few places to learn more about what happened in the Universe while he was sleeping. It was sometime since he was last awake and since he has woken he has found enough things interesting that he plans on staying that way for a while. It is my job to make sure things go as smoothly as possible during that time.”

He told her what he could without including the specifics. The pure blooded hybrid figured she would understand his level of secrecy, but if she didn’t it was no real concern either.

She was glad her reaction to his boisterous mannerisms hadn't been taken as disrespect. One always had to be extra careful around gods; some were quite casual with mortals and perfectly open to being treated a bit more candidly, while others easily took offense to such things and would aim to destroy the person on the spot. Luckily, it seemed Whis at least had some things he didn't mind a bit of silliness over.

He also didn't appear to mind that she asked questions, though the answer he gave was more vague than not. Understandable; Agatha certainly didn't expect him to divulge her of the intricacies of whatever he spent his time doing. She listened quite raptly as he explained that he was visiting the world on behalf of Lord Beerus, to keep the other god updated on the events in the universe that had taken place during his slumber. That was interesting to know, and clued her in on the knowledge that Beerus was apparently prone to sleeping for long portions at a time.

"I'm sure there are many worlds that are quite appreciative of your efforts there," Agatha told him with a smile, easily picking up on what it could mean if things weren't going smoothly for someone with the reputation for destroying planets whole. "I don't think it sounds boring at all, actually. What you just described is more or less what I do for a living." Granted she did it more for herself, out of her desire to learn and expose herself to every corner of the universe, but she wouldn't bore him with details of her life unless he expressed an interest in knowing them.

The gypsy tilted her head a bit in thought. There was certainly a lot going on around Namek, what with the occupation by the Trade Organization, and the villages being attacked. For a brief moment she thought about commenting on it, but ultimately decided not to. After all, Agatha was sharp enough to pick up that Whis had been vague for a reason; kind enough to answer her question without telling her things he shouldn't discuss with her. So, she chose something different instead. "If you're looking for matters of interest, you might consider heading over to Toffit for a bit. I was there a couple months ago and there was a demon uprising that was lead by three angels. They actually managed to overcome the Elder Council and lock them away for a time, posing themselves as the real Council to cover their efforts at taking the planet over." That was, of course, the short version of the story. Agatha couldn't assume that such things were what Lord Beerus might be interested in knowing about, but it surely wouldn't hurt to bring the matter to Whis's attention.

Whis had enjoyed his time with the young gypsy, but he wasn’t sure that she truly understood exactly who he was. She had seemed very knowledgeable and maybe it was that knowledge that kept her at ease, but very few that knew as much about the pure blooded hybrid as she did were this comfortable being close to him. The God of Destruction was still always going to be Whis’ primary job and responsibility. It was possible they would be completely pleasant one moment and destructively hostile the next. It was the way of the destroyer and as such it was the way Whis was responsible for maintaining.

He didn’t want to be rude to the girl though, so when he responded to this question he was as truthful as he could be without being mean, ”I appreciate your advice, but ultimately our destinations are up to Lord Beerus and normally the feuds between Celestials and Demons is not his concern. I believe we have other things to deal with first, but I will keep it in mind. I am sure if I could convince him that it would be entertaining that he might end up going anyways.”

It was at that point that Whis sensed it was time to go. He was already behind on getting to meet up with Lord Beerus once more. Still before he went he wanted the young lady to know just a little bit more so she wouldn’t have gotten the wrong impression, ”Myself and even Lord Beerus may be pleasant to be around for a while, but we have a job to do. I can’t tell you the number of times I have dined with royalty, enjoying all the fine things a world could have to offer and moments later I leave an empty void with Lord Beerus at my side due to 1 or 2 missteps. Even one as wise as this world’s Grand Elder referred to me simply as ‘the bringer of destruction’. I tell you this not to concern you, but so that you don’t get any misunderstandings. You have been a fine host and company for this meal and I do appreciate it. I hope to see you again sometime, maybe with Lord Beerus.”

"Of course," Agatha told him politely, assuring him she hadn't meant anything by the suggestion. "I would never presume to know what all is important to you or Lord Beerus. I simply understand that even gods can't be everywhere at once. You can't decide if a matter is or is not important to you if you don't know about it in the first place." She smiled comfortably. Agatha was not the type of person to deign herself to know what a deity would need, but providing such information would at least help keep Whis in the know about other things going on in the universe so he could make his own informed and education decisions.

It was at this point that Whis kindly explained that he needed to be on his way, with a schedule to keep and a destructive god to keep an eye on. "It's no trouble, my lord. This was a pleasant surprise; thank you for taking time to meet me and share my lunch. I look forward to the possibility of meeting you again, someday. And Lord Beerus, as well." As terrifying as that thought was, but it was also very exciting.

Her manners dictated that she stand before Whis leave, and give him another respectful bow. Agatha would give him one more thoroughly pleased smile before bidding him a final farewell and safe travels before he took his leave.
