Oji smiled as he strolled through the woods, the sun shining in through the gaps in the leafy canopy above. His heightened senses picked up on every little life form that scattered throughout the forest. He could tell that the animals were not afraid of him, yet were on alert.

Though the Paladin enjoyed his strolls and hikes through nature, it was not the reason he journeyed here. Oji had heard rumors that there was a Saiyan renegade who had taken up training in the woods. The Saiyan Empire was present on Earth, yet this one seemed to be a stray. It sent an alarm through the Paladin forces on Earth, and Oji was sent to investigate.

Yet what he had found through the words of the villagers near these woods was that this Saiyan was unlike his violent breed. Apparently he kept to himself, and wasn’t very destructive, at least compared to the rest of his brethren. Though Oji’s own opinions of Saiyans was limited, having only met three of them. Two of them, Goku and Levana, were good company and there was nothing about their nature that betrayed a ferocious killer-except their prowess in battle of course, which Oji had seen first-handed. However Oji had also met the prince of all Saiyans himself, Vegeta, who seemed to be everything and more of the myths and legends told of the Saiyan race.

Oji wasn’t at all intimidated about meeting another, and he knew that it was easier for him to simply walk through the woods and wait for his opponent to arrive. He knew that Saiyans were better at being the hunters, rather than the hunted.

Aegis had been tipped off the last time he came across a villager. There was someone looking for him. Had King Vegeta sent out a hunting party? Aegis knew that they had a presence on Earth but he had no idea how much of one it was. He was hoping hiding in the woods would keep him hidden, but it seemed to have failed once before as well. He needed to end this chase before it began and innocence was hurt again because of him. Aegis was however, curious as to why this person didn't kill the villagers. Did he want him to be warned?

Either way he refused to be the hunted this time and took to the tree tops. He tapped his scouter and it quickly locked on a high power level. Aegis worried if it was an Elite he would be better off running then fighting. Quickly pushing back his fear Aegis began to fly using his Bukujutsu tech. He had learned it while on Earth and it made travel much faster. As he grew close to the power source he landed back into the trees. He wanted to remain hidden as he tracked. If the person had allies they might see him. Aegis jumped once again from tree to tree and caught up to the person attempting to find him.

Aegis was surprised at what he found. The man with red hair and a lean fit body. He was clad in armor and look very powerful. However, Aegis wondered how he got his red hair. Saiyans have black and and one of the reasons he was looked down upon himself was due to his blond hair. Looking about Aegis couldn't find a tail and knew this was no saiyan. So what did he want then? The best thing to do was ask. Aegis didn't fell anything menacing about this man. In fact it was as if the man radiated an aura of good. Aegis leaped out of the tree and landed on the ground behind the interesting man. He held an ball of energy ready in his left hand just in case.

"Who are you?" asked Aegis calmly, "What do you want with me?"

Oji’s ears perked slightly as he felt a presence quickly approaching his destination. Smiling, he assumed the power level belonged to the Saiyan renegade he was after. Even though Oji could feel him lingering in the trees, he waited to allow the warrior to present himself. He felt that this was more respectful.

Hearing the Saiyan speak from behind him, Oji turned around to see a blonde hair Saiyan standing before him. It was this visible trait that stood out, as most Saiyans that Oji had seen and even met, always seemed to share the same dark hair color. Levana was one of these exceptions, but he had learned that she was also only half-saiyan. Oji quickly pondered if it was the same case with this man.

The Celestial also took note of the ball of energy that Aegis possessed within one of his hands. He probably wouldn’t have noticed it if it hadn’t been for his sense ability. However he wasn’t alarmed by it, if the Saiyan wanted to attack him he would have done it already.

Lifting his left hand up and back, he pulled one side of his white cloak back to reveal the sword strapped to his side. He did this not to challenge or intimidate the warrior, but simply to present his own arms so the Saiyan wouldn’t think that Oji was hiding anything from him.

“My name is Oji Waza, I am part of the Avalonian Protectorate here on Earth, specifically as a new member of the Paladin Brotherhood,” Oji suddenly stopped himself at those last words, “Well, not quite a full-fledged member, at least not yet. However, I am seeking you on their behalf. They are concerned about your presence as you appear to be hiding away from the rest of the Saiyan Empire. Why is that?”

The Celestial paused, almost as if he was waiting for the man’s response. However, Oji then did not give him a chance as he spoke up again, “I hear the Empire does not deal well with strays. Their methods are quite cruel, in my opinion. So I can understand why you would be afraid of them.”

Oji’s words were bold, but they were meant to be. From what he had heard and witnessed from Saiyans was that they were very protective of their pride. To say anything to disparage their honor was to welcome death. Oji wondered if the Saiyan would act out violently, or would he be more reserve and calculating?

There was a small pause as the man in front of Aegis examined him. He wondered if he was sizing him up or just simply noticing his strange color of hair. It wasn't until the man showed Aegis his weapon that he realized that he wasn't here to fight; at least at the moment. He had divulged what could have been a surprise attack other wise. Aegis closed his hand into a fist the the energy he was holding dissipated away. There seemed to be no threat of combat at the moment and Aegis didn't want to be the one to start it. He was waiting for a reply to his question patently.

"My name is Oji Waza, I am part of the Avalonian Protectorate here on Earth, specifically as a new member of the Paladin Brotherhood,” there was a pause as if he was contemplating telling Aegis something else and sure enough there was more,“Well, not quite a full-fledged member, at least not yet. However, I am seeking you on their behalf. They are concerned about your presence as you appear to be hiding away from the rest of the Saiyan Empire. Why is that?”

Aegis noticed that Oji was waiting for a response, but right before words managed to escape Aegis's lips Oji spoke again.

“I hear the Empire does not deal well with strays. Their methods are quite cruel, in my opinion. So I can understand why you would be afraid of them.”

Aegis chuckled at Oji's last comment. Afraid. Aegis was far from afraid, however, he wasn't stupid. There was no way he could take on a empire with just himself. His goal was to survive. Aegis could feel his blood pressure rising as he started to contemplate the arrogance, or stupidity this man had to say such a thing to a saiyan. It surely invited death to anyone so bold. Aegis however relaxed as he focused on the fact that it took bravery to say such a thing.

" How very brave of you to say such a thing Mr. Waza. First let me introduce myself. I am Aegis Aden former member of the Saiyan Empire," Aegis took a breath and continued on, " As far as being afraid. I am not afraid of the Saiyans. If I was any other saiyans you would have one hell of a fight on your hands, but i am sure you already knew that. Didn't you?

Oji was stronger the Aegis, and Aegis knew it. Besides the last question was rhetorical as they both knew the answer. If Oji didn't then he ignorantly ignored the many rumors he must have heard of him from others. This wasn't meant for a fight and Aegis quickly understood this. This was for recruitment.

" Why, is a not so full fledge member of the brotherhood out here? Wouldn't this be better suited for a full fledge member?" Aegis was returning Oji's chiding with his own playful chiding,"Anyway i'm here because I don't simply kill because i am told too. I don't commit genocide for power or control. Besides this means little without knowing why they are so interested. As i know you understand i am just trying to live in peace. I don't cater to the whims of those who kill for power."

Aegis wondered how Oji would respond. Would his comments incite violence? Argis didn't think so, but he has been wrong before. Because of that reason he was ready to fight if need be. He would rather this end peacefully but you never know what lurks in the mind of another person.

(i didn't count you talking in word count as you wrote those words not me.)

A Saiyan who won’t kill for the empire…? Oji pondered the words of the stranger carefully. His mission was to see if this Saiyan renegade would be a threat to those around him. The Paladin Brotherhood feared that a Saiyan who was left to his whims would easily go about on a killing rampage. However, this didn’t appear to be the case.

When Oji first arrived here, he found the farms and surrounding towns to be unharmed. Though that still wasn’t enough to determine the safety of this renegade, Oji had to discover more about him through personal interaction.

The Saiyan didn’t seem to give in to a violent spout, though he did appear visibly annoyed and even issue forth a warning. Still Oji could not detect anything from his tone that meant he was about to attack him. He even chuckled when he heard Aegis’s own retort to his taunt. He was impressed to hear that a Saiyan did not wish to commit genocide for his own empire. Why not? Of course, Oji could fully understand why someone would not want to perform such an act. But why would a Saiyan, one who was bred and born for battle, not wish to do so?

“Well that is indeed an interesting stance for a Saiyan to take, to not want to kill for their empire. But if that’s the case, then what is your plan now? Surely you don’t plan on living here in the woods for the rest of your life?” Oji inquired, hoping to get some light on the stranger’s motivations. Was he going to hide away from the empire indefinitely? Was he seeking to strike out against them? If he was, then that could be a problem. Earth, despite having its own defense forces and the Paladin Brotherhood, was mostly under control of the Saiyan Empire.

Aegis could see the gears spinning in the mind of the man in front of him. He knew he was not like other saiyans, and that alone is a reason to be curious. Aegis however didn't know this man well enough to divulge any of his past. Maybe one day these two could be friends, but it boiled down to this encounter. Aegis's thoughts were interrupted by Oji's voice.

“Well that is indeed an interesting stance for a Saiyan to take, to not want to kill for their empire. But if that’s the case, then what is your plan now? Surely you don’t plan on living here in the woods for the rest of your life?”

Aegis smiled at the question. His plans were to in fact stay hidden and keep low. The Empire however had found him, and made this an impossibility. They knew where he was and they wouldn't stop until he was killed. Aegis's knew he didn't half to fight but he was done. He was done running.

"My plan is simple. I am no longer running from the Empire. I intend to stand a fight. They found me in another small village and they massacred the people to find me. I will not allow that to happen again."

Aegis's resolve could be heard in his words. As well as his guilt for the killings of those people. He carried the weight of all those lives on his shoulders and he had to do something about it. The only answer he had at the moment was to fight. To ride this planet of the Empire.

Aegis's relaxed a little and sighed," Why is your brotherhood interested in me. I have never attacked any of your outposts and as I'm sure you noticed I remain peaceful. So what is it your people are planning and want?"

Aegis was unsure if he asked the right question, but hopefully he would be given some insight into what is going on. Are they trying to recruit him or eradicate him? Do they live by honor or are they no better then the Empire?

Oji studied the man’s reactions carefully. He appeared to be passionate about his emotions towards the empire, yet he reeled back some of his anger when he began to inquire about Oji’s own objective. It was good to see that the Saiyan was in control of his emotions, something that Oji was led to believe was a rare trait for a Saiyan to possess.

And it was indeed true, the Saiyan had not attacked any Paladin outpost or had appeared to made any attempt to harm any Earthlings. And Oji was alarmed to hear that the Saiyan Empire’s own warriors massacred a neighboring village just to track him down. Yet even though the Saiyan hadn’t done anything dastardly, the Paladin Brotherhood was always to remain vigilant of any possible evil. That meant extinguishing the flames of evil before it was even ignited.

Yet the conviction that Aegis spoke with in regards to the safety of the villagers rid Oji of any shadow of a doubt that this man was a threat to the Brotherhood or to Earth. Though there was indeed no telling what path this man would take to reach his goals, Oji had a feeling that it wasn’t a dark one.

A satisfied smile appeared across the Paladins face as he breathed a sigh of relief. His posture then suddenly seemed to relax and his hand slid off of the handle of his sword.

“Well, then, that is good to know! I’m sure not many Earthlings have a guardian angel watching over them who happens to be a Saiyan! Those villagers are in good hands,” Oji began to walk upon slowly to the Saiyan. “I’ll inform the Brotherhood of the villager deaths, though I’m sure you’ve already taken care of the killers. It’s rare to find a vigilant soul, in any race or form. If it so happens to interest you, I’m sure the Paladin Brotherhood would gladly allow one such as yourself into their ranks.”

Oji stopped right before the blonde haired Saiyan and extended out hand. His smile widened as he continued to speak, “Though it is just an idea, and its your choice in the end. And even if you choose not to, then I am sure we will still find ourselves fighting side by side one day.”

Whether or not the Saiyan chose to shake Oji’s hand, the Celestial would take to the air, giving off one last glance to the Saiyan before blasting off.

“For now, the Brotherhood has no quarrels with you Aegis. Good luck to you.”

Aegis studied the mans reactions to Aegis' words. When the man smiled he know that there was no reason to worry. When he removed his hand from the hilt of his sword the threat of combat to was removed. An air of understanding and kinship was more of a presence between the two. Though no ones approval is needed for the actions that Aegis has and will take. It was good to know that he had an ally on this planet. So far he had found friends only in the natives. This man was clearly no native to the planet.

Aegis smiled when Oji offered for him to join the ranks of the Brotherhood. It was a kind gesture and Aegis didn't have a reason to doubt the mans believes. Aegis, however, had been a tool once before and had no wish to be so again. He knew nothing about the Brotherhood and there was no grantee that he would be anything other then a pawn in there games. The man before him however was honorable and this appealed to Aegis. Because of this Aegis kept his thoughts to himself and when the man extended his had. Aegis meet it with the same vigor.

"I am sorry but at the moment i have no wish to take sides. I thank you for your kind offer. If you ever need an ally Oji you can count on me."

Aegis released the mans hand and waited as he took to the air. There was a final glance between the two and they both seemed to understand were the other came from. At least that is what Aegis thought. He meant what he said as well. Oji would have a permanent ally in him.
