“Oh, really?” Anzu replied to his comment that she as well was ‘guilty’ of letting appearance deceive her. She wasn’t sure what he meant though; she wasn’t impressed or distracted by the red haired celestial at all so far. She also didn’t care what he meant with his words or if he was merely trying to annoy her, she was only here to train and to get stronger. She was not interested in the people she met along the way at all, unless they would turn out to be really powerful like Lord Frieza. Anzu had heard about other great warriors though, even stronger than the leader of the PTO. Of course there were rumours about the fabulous Lightning Lord, unfortunately he was said to be one of the good guys. He even had assembled a new group to try to save the universe. They were even fighting against Lord Frieza and the PTO on Namek at that same moment. How were they called again? Something with Galaxy… Protectors of the Galaxy? Savours? Whatever, she didn’t care. The idea alone made her sick already. And it was a pity that such strength was wasted to save people how didn’t deserve it or didn’t even appreciate it. Howell, there were a few others on her list, who she would want to meet at some point. Like Prince Vegeta and the Cosmic Emperor, now that were men with true power, not some arrogant Celestial who apparently thought pretty high of himself, like this one… What was his name again? She briefly checked her scouter, right Azrael… Not that it really mattered, but at least it was one more person registered in the database of the PTO and that was always a good thing. Anyway, back to this silly fight. The red head blocked her sword attacks quite easy, as she had expected considering his power level. She wasn’t stupid, she knew that he was stronger than she was. And yes he was fast too, faster than her, maybe to fast if it wasn’t for her scouter. The device monitored every move and quickly anticipated and calculated his next move, the moment his balance slightly shifted to the left to bring his right leg up towards her head. Anzu immediately ducked low and stepped to the left to avoid the kick, if only by some millimetres, while her katana lashed out to the same leg that rushed over her head. She would try to get around him, so she would stand behind him and unleash several little ki arrows from her left hand at close range. If they managed to get stuck in his skin, the arrows would explode soon afterwards. WC 448 |

The two of them engaged in the dance of combat. There was no truer test of the character of a person than such dance. Perhaps there was something more in the back of his head that may have been driving him to feel it, but in a way he very much agreed with what the Saiyan race believed. Combat was more than just a test of strength and will. It was an expression of ones inner self. Sure many of the less mentally capable Saiyans saw it only for its face value but once they became a true master they learned that battle was less physical and more spiritual. As an angel of death there were certain connotations that one might assume about him. But in all honesty he didn't really the himself to one religion or another. As a matter of fact he believed more everyday that perhaps his religion was combat. Sure there were dieties and gods and whatnot but no one religion was really the one and only answer. There was something about this form of expression that spoke to him. The problem was that the longer their dance continues the more he was already beginning to see how the alien woman viewed him. He had thought to use his charm and perhaps find something there and yet he could see that not only was she unimpressed she actually seemed...bored? It was that moment of realization that he was being viewed as a fool that spoke falsehoods, that a sudden fire ignited within him. She was disrespecting him, treating him like a lesser. She was looking for someone strong, and so he decided to take off the kid gloves. She managed to block his attack and in another motion he saw the incoming ki blasts. Rather than avoid them he raised his left forearm and allowed them to sink into his flesh. Before they exploded though he tossed the arm to the side and sent the quills of energy into the wooden floor. "Fine, I tried to be pleasant. But it seems you'd rather learn the hard way." He didn't need to transform to outclass the woman in power. All he had to do was stop holding back. The look in his eye turned from charming and jovial to pure ice. They bored into his opponent before he slipped from existence. He would reappear inches from the woman, his left hand aiming to cup her entire face in his splayed fingers. If he succeeded the plan was to lift her from her feet and slam her head through the floorboards before his hand glowed with energy that would detonate directly in her face. For good measure he would follow up with three punches to her body. He waited to see just how snippy she would be after that. |

“Oh my, how very impressive…” she replied very sweet, when he easily got ride of the ki needles before they exploded, while she waved her left hand next to her face, as if she needed extra air before she would faint. Bingo. It seemed like she had found pretty boys weakness and had finally triggered him into real combat, instead of playing some kind of charming Casanova. She knew that she had a rather expressive face and in this case her face had expressed her feeling of disappointment and maybe slight boredom due to her opponent. It was indeed how she felt in all honesty, but she had also deliberately let it show to see his reaction. And it worked. His weakness, like most warriors and men in general, was pride. Especially when it came to (pretty) girls, they wanted to act like the impressive alpha male. And well, if the girl was not impressed, things could escalate rather fast, like now. His eyes turned ice cold on her and she knew playtime was over. The scouter still beeped to warn her, as he started to move. But he was too fast and she knew it, of course she knew it. She was arrogant, for reasons, but not stupid. Though his attack suddenly turned out much more brutal than she had expected from the dear Celestial, as he directly aimed for her face instead of her torso for example. This was not just an attack, it held some revenge in it for the way she mocked him before. There was a darkness in him she hadn’t expected. Interesting. She didn’t even attempt to block or dodge, as it was useless anyway. Instead she just let the scouter register his moves and strength, at least the short moment before they device was blown away by the incoming attacks. At that point she looked more like an old rage doll than a PTO warrior, when he slammed her head down to the floor and let the ki explode directly in her face, just to continue with some extra punches. Anzu didn’t cry in pain. She didn’t scream of fear. She stopped doing those things a long time ago. Instead she laughed, while she crawled back on her feet. More than half of her face had a nasty red glow, as it was burned from the ki blast. “I never asked you to be pleasant, boy,” she answered rather amused, while she picked her scouter back up from the floor, “Oh and I like it hard… as you might have noticed. At least you finally act to your power level,” she added with a wink. She took the liberty to spend a short moment to check if her long red crimson hair was still okay, before she continued, “So tell me, my dear Romeo, do you always explode that easily? Do you always hit a, clearly weaker, girl in the face and burn her when she doesn’t fall for your charms?” She was still didn’t feel attracted to the red hair Celestial, but she could tell that within the common standards of the universe he would be considered as ‘good looking’. “I assume women fall for you all the time eh? How many girls have you had? Or how many do you have now? Do you like hitting them too? Do they like being hit?” WC 559 / 1007 |

Azrael was no moron. He knew exactly what the girl was trying to do, and if she wanted to unleash his wrath then he would be more than happy to honor those wishes. In all honesty it was something that a part of him had been pleading to do for some time. He needed an outlet, a way to release all of his pent up anger and aggression. Sure she might have been well below the level of someone he could really unleash on but she would prove resilient enough, and if he was honest with himself she had pissed him off. He was growing impatient with dealing with impudent and disrespectful welps that thought themselves something special because they could overpower most average people. It was time that he taught this one a lesson and hopefully it might benefit the galaxy as a whole. He reacted on impulse, slamming the woman down like a rag doll and she did nothing to defend herself, either because she couldn't or maybe it was what she was in to. Either way it bothered him not. For an instant there was a bit of concern that he had enjoyed it a bit too much but then he was quickly able to silence those concerns when she opened her mouth again. She called him boy and while part of him had a smart retort he decided against it. "I wonder what it was in your life that caused such barbs to grow on your tongue but it will do little for you here. Your masochism is your own to deal with. You asked for a lesson and so now you will get one. Let us begin," Azrael raised his right hand slowly and aimed it at his new student. Hisbeyes still remained unemotional and cold, not even anger showing there. "with silence." he finished as a bolt of energy flashed from his hand and and to consume the girl. 325/797 |

“Oh, well, how thoughtful of you,” she replied with a smile, while she casually put the katana away again in its holder on her back, “Don’t you worry you pretty little head about it though, I had a great family, the perfect childhood, hahaha, guess I was just…. born this way.” The moment the celestial unleashed the ki blast at her, her hands closed into first and she opened her mouth to let out a very high-toned scream. The sound wave clashed into the energy bolt and immediately made it explode in mid-air. “Ooops! You wanted silence right?” she said, while her eyes widened as if she was actually apologizing for the ‘mistake’. “Thing is though, Azrael, to get back to all the insults and name calling…” she continued in a remarkable neutral and non-sarcastic tone, while she actually used his name this time, “I know you despise me, who I am and what I stand for. But at least I know who I am, I know I’m arrogant, cynical and brutal… And I’m okay with that.” Her words were probably the most honest she had spoken in a long time and she wasn’t sure why she was telling him this now. Or actually she did know, she had seen darkness in him that sparked her interest. “I’ve met quite some warriors over time, I think I can recognize the good from the bad,” she sad, still in the same almost friendly tone, while she walked slowly closer to the red haired fighter, “You’re a Celestial, but the way you looked at me and attacked me just now…. you aren’t as pure or selfless as you claim to be. Maybe you are still fighting that side, maybe you are in denial… However it’s just a matter of time, I’m sure.” She said softly, while her right hand reached out to him to caress his cheek and lock eyes, if he would let her. She took a few steps backwards again, before she continued, “If you would chose to listen to your own inner darkness, I’m sure you know how to find me….” She finished with a smile and blew him a kiss just before her image started to fade and she returned to the real world. They would meet again, of that she was sure. WC 1000+ |

Despite how he might have reacted there was a certain peace that suddenly sat within the celestials chest. Perhaps it was all of the rage and anger that he had been holding in causing his distress. Perhaps in releasing it and embracing it he had finally found that inner peace that he desired. He couldn't deny the based urges, the side of him that was dark. After all wasn't that what he was meant to be? A balance between the two. Could darkness be used for light? It was only after he had allowed himself to be goaded into action that the words no longer held any affect over him. He had asked to be among mortals and perhaps that was the price he had to pay. No mortal was entirely one thing. He knew there was more to the woman standing before him and although she spoke of a prefect life he doubted everything was so perfect. No one ever was. Not entirely. He couldn't help but smile slightly when she mentioned how he despised her. The truth was he didn't despise her in the least. No one could be judged for what they were, at least she embraced it. He knew she was right though about some things. There was a darkness inside of him he couldn't deny. He would have to get to the bottom of that as well. But for now he merely locked his eyes with hers and before she disappeared he spoke one last time. "You're wrong you know, I don't despise you. I barely even know you, but I'm starting to." With that he allowed himself to drift as well. Wc: 1000+ |
