It was a hot summer’s day with a virtually cloudless sky in the sacred land of Korin. The merchant by the name Shorin was going about his usual business trekking through Karin forest to trade with the villagers. The merchant himself was a rather mysterious man. Although he interacted with the people of the land on a daily basis the residents of village did not know much about the latter. He stood at 5 feet and 8 inches tall. His cloak covered almost every part of his body only showing that he blue eyes and slightly tan skin. During the times he did speak to the villagers it would be about the merchandise he carried; he would talk about the functions of what he was saying or the history of the items in question. The most personal thing he told most people he made transactions with was his name, Although the natives found the ambiguity unsettling they trusted the merchant regardless because his merchandise was always on par with their standards. The merchant more often than not was in his own company alone just like this moment but unknown to him he had an observer from far away. A large pigman looking at him from afar through a telescope. The creature stood at 8 feet it’s snout was 5 inches and had two tusk sticking out around each side of it’s upper lip. It had two bulky arms and a black bracelet on the wrist of each of them. His legs were surprisingly short, slightly less than a foot in length. After watching and waiting a few more minutes the creature pressed a button on his telescope making it become a capsule and proceeded to put it away in his belt. The pigman jumped down from a hill right in the path of the merchant and landed right before him and spoke. “You! Merchant. Give bag to me all merchandise,”shouted the pigman “Just who are you?” “Midboss Cervil Bore, Now give bag” “I’ll give you everything in the bag granted you can pay” ”Cervil pay by not making you pay” “Not making me pay how exactly?” “Toll! Toll of pain, Toll of sleep.” “Toll of sleep?” ”Merchant no pay, Merchant sleep. ”Sleep for how long and what will make me sleep?” ”Cervil make you sleep! Temporarily, Permanently, no difference to boss. Boss just wants item.” “Just an item? Then why take the Whole bag?” ”Cervil forgot what, So Cervil takes everything” “I won’t simply let that happen.” ”You no give Cervil fight merchant and win and winner will take all! The pigman slammed a foot on the ground and made a fist as he pulled his arm back for his initial attack. ”Special Closed Palm Arm Extension Force Excretion Attack!” The beast jumped forward to throw a punch at Shorin just before the punch connected, the force of the attack still carried on to the ground making a hole roughly the size of his fist. The merchant disappeared right before the punch connected. The pig man landed and slide a few inches upon hitting the ground Cervil quickly turned around to see where the merchant had went to see that the merchant was right behind right behind him. The merchant pull out one of his weapons an automatic crossbow, yes an automatic crossbow. Instead of a single arrow sitting on the middle pressed against a single string string there were several arrows some next to each other and others overlapping all pressed against three strings. The trader pointed his weapon of choice at the pigman and proceeded to fire sending shooting several arrows arrows at the pig man. The pig man raised his arms and began moving them to deflect the onslaught and got and quickly ducked and started running to the right. Albeit the fact he spoke in Engrish implied a lack of intelligence on top of being cringe worthy. The strength of his attacks and having such great speed and maneuverability despite his plump physique showed that he was not going to go down easily. He ran with a stream of arrows right behind him. The merchant eventually fired his last arrow and Cervil turned around to face as he prepared to make his next move. The pig man ran at the merchant and started throwing punches one after another as fast as he could. ”Rapid Fire Special Closed Special Closed Palms Arm Extension Force Excretion Attack” The merchant moved in the opposite directions at an erratic tempo before disappear again and reappearing doing a backflip catching the ground with his hands and sliding back. The merchant moved at a pace fast enough to make the dirt behind him. He jumped into the air and landed a kick right in Cervil stomach. The pigman’s eyes widened and cheeks puffed up as he flinched back and got sent back several feet. ”Midboss Cervil done with games, Now you Sleep!” The pig man got another capsule from his belt and pressed on the top of it. After a puff of smoke along black chain connected to a wreaking ball was revealed. Cervil took the chain and spun it around beside him and took a swing at Shorin. The merchant jumped in the air making the ball hit a tree knocking it down. The merchant pulled a dagger and started running towards the pigman disappearing from side to side and emerging right in front of Cervil. The cloaked trader took asideway slash at the pig man but Cervil jumped back. The merchant continued his attack and the pigman continued to jump back and rotate to the left and the right to dodge the onslaught. The Midboss threw a punch that sent the trader flying and made his bag come off his shoulder but the merchant caught it with his right hand. Cervil sent pull on the chain with his left arm making the wreaking ball come backward towards Shorin. The salesman acted quickly and pulled a stone from his bag making a bubble shield appear around him but in the process he dropped his bag. The wreaking ball hit the shield making the merchant roll and bounce in the direction of the Pigman. The Pig man spun the ball around him and sent swinging towards bubbled merchant in a similar fashion to that of a baseball player swinging at a baseball. The merchant bounced up one more time just before the pigman’s wreaking ball made contact sending the merchant flying off into the air in the opposite direction. The Pigman look as the merchant flew off inside his bubble until the pig man could no longer see him. The pig man went to merchants bag and took it. ”Shorin sleep long, Cervil taste Victory, Now report to boss.” WC: 1,127 |

Having been out a sort of short expedition through the land of Korin, it was only fitting that he run into some kind of mischief or another. Of course. What was a casual stroll without a mishap? Trouble seemed to follow Xaphiel everywhere he went, although he never really looked at it as such. He more so just figured it was chalked up to him always being in right place at the right times. Could have even been considered a blessing, if one looked at it that way. At any rate, he had a job to do. Strider had sent him here to collect samples of the air, soil and even plant life. The reasoning wasn't all that clear, but Strider seemed to believe that a lot of the elements found here were found no where else on the planet. Whatever. Xaphiel didn't really ever bother asking the old man too many science for fear that he would drone on all day and never let him out the door. He certainly wasn't going to start the habit this time either. He continued his stroll, a small device in his left hand that he waved around at plants and shrubbery that he found. Occasionally he would knee down to gather some data on the soil with the device, but honestly he had no actual idea of what the hell he was actually doing. He was literally just pointing and waving this thing at stuff until a light went off. He assumed that meant the analysis was done. Oh! Then there was a *ding*! Haha, I did it! He thought to himself, feeling as though he'd just beaten a high score on a game. Really showed how serious he took his current task. Xaph could picture it now. The scolding that Strider would lay upon him was he got back in about he hadn't done anything right. Oh, well. Didn't matter. He tried. He beat his high score. Suddenly, Xaphiel could hear something. It was a light whirring noise, as if something was soaring toward him. His eyes were still fixated on the ground as he crouched, but his ears raised and twitched in the direction of the sound. "Hm.. ? What's tha-- AACK" And then, he was cracked in the back head as he stood by a flying object. He stumbled forward, trying to catch his footing again before he turned around to look at whatever the hell just hit him. "Hey, what's the deal--.. huh.." He stopped mid question to see what had hit him was a person. A rather small person and judging by their garb, a salesperson of some sort. They sat there for a moment and rubbed their head before slowly making it back to their feet. Xaphiel raised an eyebrow before inquiring, "So, wanna tell me why you just flew through the air and hit me in the head?" The merchant finished rubbing his head and looked up at the strange android with a look of frustration on his face before responding. "This pig beast man... he's--.. Urgh, I gotta go, I gotta stop him!" With that, the merchant took off and was fast back on the heels of the thieving beast. As he closed in, he could see that the pig-man was already making his dash away with his stuff and picked up the pace quite a bit. He was obviously quite worn, making it hard to keep up with the thief. "Hey, you wait the hell up!" The pig-man looked back at his victim and smirked before letting out a confidently evil laugh. "Merchant too late! Merchant need give up!" His laughter continued for a few more seconds as he dashed while looking backwards at the merchant. However, as he was turning his head back around to look ahead of him at where he was going, he ran face first into a knee that would nearly cause the beast's head to explode. The impact immediately sent him flying backwards toward the merchant as he landed and slid at the trader's feet. The craziest part being is Xaphiel only had held out his knee, putting very little force into the strike. That was if he had put any in at all. It was pretty pathetic, really. He let out a sigh and began pacing toward the two of them."This your guy?" He asked the salesman and to which he responded by snatching up his goods that the pig was laying on the ground with. "Sure is.. Thanks for the -- assistance!" He grunted the last part out as he had to actually yank the bag from the pig's arm. The pig squirmed around on the ground clutching his face and wailing out in pain. "OHHH, WHO HURT CERVIL.. ! CERVIL MAKE YOU PAY!.. AOOWW..." If he was going to make anybody pay it wasn't going to be here and now. Xaphiel shook his head and pitied the pig. "Boss be angry.. Boss break both you!" "I'll be sure to keep an eye over my shoulder." Xaphiel responded sarcastically before looking at the merchant and strolling off. "I'd suggest you find out who this 'boss' is and get him handled quickly. You're looking at a future full of problems and this is bound to not be the last little loser you'll have comin' for you. Cut the head of the dragon, bud." With that, he continued to stroll through the wooded area with device in hand attempting to scan more of his surroundings and he waved his free hand up, saying goodbye to the merchant. "Take it easy." ---- WC: 931 |

The Merchant rifled through his bag making sure that none of his possessions and merchandise was missing or damaged because of the thief. He took out his belonging one spending a second to examine each one of his trinkets, tools, and medicines were all unscathed by the events that ensued during this day and he was relieved. He looked at Xaphiel as he began to walk away. "Thank you so much, you saved my life and my livihood" Xaphiel took his leave and the merchant remained where he was looking at Cervil with the android's earlier statement fresh in mind. He approached the defeated pigman. "Did any of this jug your memory of what your boss wanted by any chance?" "Ughhh...still can't quite remember. Boss told me get something. "But what?" "Piece." "Piece? Like a piece of paper, or music, or to a puzzle" "Yes" "Yes to what!"The anxiety was very detectable in the merchants tone "All things." "So your boss wants paper, sheet music and puzzle pieces?" "Just one thing" "What was the one thing?" "Something Shorin had...or traded" "Or traded? So not even I know what you or this boss of you're wants" All the merchants annoyance and frustration was articulated in the sigh he released. The merchant stood with his thoughts thinking of what. Rapidly going through the trinkets and tools in his possession as well as the one's he sold before he eventually opened up his bag and showed a random item(a stack of paper) to the pigman. "Would your boss want paper" "No" "Ok,"Shorin went through his a second time bag and pulled out sheet music. "Would your boss want sheet music" "No not that kind of music...something specific, not from merchant." The merchant went through his bag a third time and pulled out a wooden box with glass in the middle revealing pieces to a jigsaw puzzle. "Was it this?" The merchant said shaking it making the sound wooden pieces jumping up and hitting the container from the inside. "No, different puzzle...puzzle was puzzle but not puzzle" "Puzzle was and was not, forget it" Shorin continued to pull items from his bag form his bag and the same formula was repeated with the merchant showing Cervil an item in his bag and the pigman saying no. "Would your boss be after this rag doll?" "No." The merchant gave off a sigh before dropping the doll on the ground causing it to make a squeaking noise when it landed next his automatic crossbow, a flail, various different daggers instruments including a recorder, clarinet, snare drum, and maracas, and a cook book, along with various other things that would belong to a merchant or The merchant pulled out a smaller bag and removed the string pulling out a green bean. "Would he want a senzu bean by chance." "Bean? Dumb merchant. Boss no have no use for beans." The merchant ate the senzu bean managing to do away with his fatigue albeit the anxiety remained. "Who is your boss anyway?" "You don't need to know boss." "Well then how am I suppose to know what he wants with me" "You not needed nor the others" "others?" "Find targets until item found " "Find targets until item found? so I'm not the only one. Considering you forgot what I guess it's possible you forgot who. How did you know me by name?" "You famous merchant, likely to have what boss looked for." "I see. Well you can be sure that I'll be putting the word out about you and your bosses activities." The merchant picked up his belongings and placed them in his bag as he turned his back to walk away and make his way to Korin's tower to get some to carry out his business with the cat as well as get much needed rest in the village. Unknown to him the events that unfolded were being observed by the boss mentioned by Cervil with assistance from a little helper. An owl that stood in a tree with it's talons secure around a branch. An enchantment in his glasses allowing him to see everything from a far while concealed in the shadows that covered all but the big yellow, round lenses of his glasses. "It seemed that Shorin didn't have what I was looking for and he'll be alerting others of my search, oh well there are other things I have for my plans. Fufufu." WC: 739 TWC: 2,797 |
