The sun begins its steady rise into the sky letting in a little light into no. 18's room breaking through her curtains and shinning on her face. No. 18 lets out a yawn and stretches as the break of dawn hits her face. She turns to face the curtains and smiles. "I wonder what kind of day I will have today." she says while smiling. She proceeds to get up and do what women do to get ready for the day. A few hours fly by and no. 18 is ready to head out and see what happens today. She grabs her keys and heads into the busy streets of west city. Cars are going and people are walking, the sign that everything is as it should be, nothing out of the ordinary.

No. 18's daily routine is to train, go shopping and train some more and then go to work as a body-guard. No. 18 has a few areas she likes to train at just outside of town where fewer people can see her train. No. 18 makes her way to where some trees are and she begins stretching. A few minutes go by and here she goes, her routine consists of physical training. Five hundred punches and kicks a day. No. 18 with do five hundred punches on trees in the area then go do her shopping and do five hundred kicks on some rocks on the other side of town. A happy body leads to a clear and happy mind.

About two hours goes by and she finishes her punches, the sun is almost mid day at this point. "so far so good," she says holding her hand above her head as she looks into the sky trying to let the bright light into her eyes. Time to go grab some groceries and get some food ready for my work shift tonight. No. 18 has a favorite food court she enjoys to go to near downtown a few blocks from her place. No. 18 makes her way towards the food court.

A few blocks in town no. 18 see's a bunch of people gathering around a t.v. Store. "something must have happened?" she wonders to herself. No. 18 makes her way to the t.v. And headline in bold headline letters it spells, MASS MURDERER ON THE LOSE OR FOOD VIRUS ON THE LOSE!? "Hello to everyone tuning in, today's news is not one of good news. There has been a small string of deaths lately. Earlier this week five people have been discovered dead. But these last few days there has been as many as fifty dead bodies discovered. And the number keeps rising. There didn't seem to be enough evidence to suggest poisoning but now that the same thing showing up in all these bodies that is what the police are saying. A large-scale emergency is being issued into the city Hazmat teams will be showing up within the hours and you can expect more police over the next few days or until the reason for all this is discovered. We are also warning everyone to stay clean and be weary of other people. Be safe and have a good day everyone." The t.v. begins to talk about the weather. No. 18 loses interest and walks off towards the food court.

Sirens are blaring all the city after that report has gone off, you can see people panicking and others that don't seem worried. "Human's sure are different," No. 18 says to herself. But even No. 18 began to wonder what does this mean and what is happening. No. 18 is just one block away from the food court, she makes the turn and see's police everywhere. No. 18 try's to access the situation, the Food court looks as if a stampede of people ran through the area. Food is all over the ground and all this red juice is spilled. At that moment No. 18 begins to see some clues as too what has happened. She proceeds to try to get close to ask what has happened and she saw more than she wanted. About fifteen dead bodies are spread across the ground of the food court. However the scary thing that has No. 18 in shock is the fact that all the bodies eyes are missing. It was at that moment when she looked at the ground and realized that all the red juice on the floor wasn't juice but the eyes of all the dead bodies that melted off. As if it were even that simple, the bodies looked caved in as well. Meaning that even the bodies interior was melting. No. 18 puts her hand over her mouth as if to vomit. A police officer pokes around the chest of one of the victims, the chest caved in and blood begun pouring out from the sides. Officers began to push people back closing off the entire area.

No. 18 trying to hold herself together is still in shock. She leans against the a wall and sits down trying to process the situation. Her brain begins trying to figure what on earth could do this, or who, was it on purpose or on accident. She decides to walk home and eat leftovers while thinking. Once she got home and began to eat her dinner she was still thinking of all the information. Ding, ding, ding. No. 18 alarm was blaring from her room signaling it is time to go to work. No. 18 gets up and puts on her uniform and heads out to work. She heads to the station to find out who she is protecting and instead of a person which she usually protects she is instead on watch duty at the food court. Instead of shock striking her she smiled and muttered, "time to get to work." The other officers look at her like she got the worst possible job at the moment because what if she gets sick and dies like the others. But truth be told only No. 18 knows she is an android and everyone is like "This human is crazy."

No. 18 arrives on the scene shortly thanks to the cars they are provided at work. No. 18 doesn't waste any time and makes do with what she has. And even though the police had taken the bodies away there is still plenty of evidence lying around for her to use. No. 18 worked tirelessly all night during her shift illegally taking some samples to analyse later tonight. Time flew by so fast the next guard scheduled appeared on scene. No. 18 went to the guard and asked if they wouldn't mind if she took over the other ones shift. And the other guard was actually pretty thrilled and then left. That gives No. 18 another four hours to find any clues.

While digging around something interesting struck out above all the other evidence. It appears from the way everyone's bodies are positioned and the items that were on the floor near where the bodies were it is safe to say these fifteen people had the same contact with whatever killed them. And it looks like they also were at the same stand or near a specific stand, meaning the poison they got had to be around that area. However there happens to be twenty-five different stands here. And just because they were at a specific stand doesn't mean that they got it from the food at that stand. It could also be someone who they came in contact with. Or worse case it could be both. "Tisk, this is going to be harder than I thought."

No. 18 kept at it until the sun began to peak into sight brightening the area and that was when No. 18 was able to see something interesting. The position of where the bodies were does give a clue to where the contaminant may had originated. The bodies had one thing in common, in their direct center was booth #14. No. 18 knows that booth well because that is where she gets her groceries from as well. It is from a sweat nice old lady by the name of Meri.

No. 18 immediately began a body scan to see if anything was out of the ordinary with her. A few moments pass by and the results were all negative. No. 18 lets out a sigh and began to suspect the poison may only be strong against humans and not androids. No. 18 begins talking out loud to herself to further help her push the matter of thought. "But still, I mean I have been getting my groceries from her for years now. There is no way that it could be her. These victims have only just recently become of late. So there must have been an event between a few weeks ago and now." No. 18 clears her throat and looks around to see if anything else catches her eye. "Hmm, nothing."

"My best hope is going to be to find where Meri is and see what is going on." Shortly after reaching her conclusion the police showed up and sent No. 18 on her way. No. 18 made it straight for Meri's house. Upon arrive No. 18 knocks on the door asking for Meri, no answer. No. 18 knocks again but louder bashing the door. Still no reply. No. 18 bashes the door again and yells, "Meri, are you home?" Still nothing, not a sound. No. 18 yells "I am breaking your door down!" No. 18 got into position and put her hand into a fist and punched the door. This was not a normal punch it was Blast Punch to secure she would get in easily. As soon as No. 18 fish hit the door a small explosion blasted inwards into the house and the door shattered into hundreds of small pieces.

"Meri!?" No. 18 yells. But still nothing. No. 18 starts scanning the house for anything from an indication from where Meri is to the poison. About ten minutes into searching the house No. 18 found Meri's body on the ground unconscious. "Meri!?" No. 18 yells again. But Meri did not move. No. 18 turned Meri over to try to get a pulse. However Meri's body was beginning to melt into blood. No. 18 was shocked but also knew this would be her only chance to try to figure out what may have happened. No. 18 turned Meri over and scanned her body. The scan came up with something interesting on the back of Meri's legs, hands, and back. Her back side of the body was covered in purple scratches that were oozing out black foam.

No. 18 backed up in shock from the kind of pain Meri had probably gone through. The scan began to look online for anything related to the marks on Meri. Beep, beep, a small sound rang inside of No. 18 indicating that the scan had found a comparison. No. 18 began reading the article and definitely found it to be a match. A poisonous plant caused this women and many others an early death. "How cruel this planet is." The plant is not native to this area which has No. 18 wondering how and where on Earth did Meri find the plant. No. 18 called the police leaving a tip that someone had broken into Meri's home and she left to try to figure out what where this plant is.

No. 18 headed to the police station and requested to talk to the head chief which No. 18 knew from an incident a while back. After No. 18 got to talk to the chief he allowed her to look into the feeds and try to see if it will help. No. 18 began to search through the recordings and try to best figure out Meri's route and such. It wasn't until about thirteen hours later No. 18 found the clip where Meri had accidentally fallen over a hedge. "That's it!" No. 18 yells with excitement. The chief rushes over and then the police headed the area with about twenty cars with the Hazmet team.

Upon arrival they closed the road down and went to check under the hedge Meri had fallen off of. And sure enough the plant was growing, it wasn't a small plant either. And to top it off the climate in this area had no sunshine so the plant flourished. It wasn't until a report came back that the plant had grown/seeded new areas around the area for a few blocks. A small part of the massive city had to closed off and the people treated. No. 18 received a reward for discovering the issue at hand and West City thanks No. 18. A days later No. 18 attended the funeral of Meri, No. 18 never did tell the police it was her who invaded Meri's home but it's not like they needed to know that.

No. 18 looks up with tears on her face, "What a beautiful day it is," she said. Followed by "Rest in peace Meri, you will be missed." No. 18 began doing her regular routine again day in and day out waiting, for the next adventure to peek its head around the corner.
