The walk from town to town may have not been the most efficient way to get around but it was definitely the most peaceful in his opinion. His hand gripped the sling to his pack tightly and shruged his shoulder to adjust its position. The thin line had been putting weight on his shoulder long enough for him to start losing feeling in his right hand. "I see...something Red..." Ozi mocked as he laid upon his back, watching the world through Gray's eyes. "Is it that flower?" Gray replied, his finger extended to be specific for the rose in the distance. A long pause between the two followed before Ozi finally replied in a disgruntled manner. "I hate this game...". They had been playing 'I spy' for the last three days as they walked from North City to North East Central villa for the local martial arts tournament. "Why couldn't we just fly?" he asked as he shook his head. "Because then we miss the things that are going on around us." Gray started as he looked over his shoulder and noticed a car approaching quickly. "We miss out on meeting people, and seeing girls, god the girls!" he drooled as his eyes filled with heart shaped glitter at the thought of a pretty young thing. "Your pathetic..." Ozi remarked as he sat up, his eyes squinting so he could focus on the fast approaching motor vehicle. "Death approaches..." Ozi instincts were never far from the truth when he could sense someone's emotions. "How can you tell?" Gray asked as he turned his head slightly. "Death and sadness have similar looks in a human's eyes." He started as the car approached and beginning to slow down as if to stop near Gray. "That and all black is a dead give away." he finished with a smirk as he rolled over to try and rest. "Dead give away....haha" Gray chuckled nervously as he shrugged off the inside joke as the car approached. The red pick up truck slowly came to a screeching halt, its breaks needing replaced as it gave off a squeal of metal on metal friction. The man steering dressed in a full black suit with a black fedora. "Hello there sir, need a ride?" he started as his left hand extended its index finger and pushed his fedora up slightly revealing his eyes. The sadness in his eyes was unsettling and nerve wrecking for the first few minutes that they made eye contact. "Sure, I would really appreciate it. Can I get a ride to the next town?" Gray asked as he started to walk around the front of the truck to get in through the passenger door. "Sure, thats where I am headed." agreeing to Gray's request as he leaned over the center seat to unlock the passenger door. As he leaned back to his seat he revealed a bouquet of roses that rested on the middle seat. He already knew the answer to the question but chose to not make the situation awkward, he would have to engage in conversation on the way to the next village. "So are the Roses for the misses" Gray asked with a friendly smile as he nodded his head toward them. "Nope" The older man responded with a short and blunt answer followed by silence. "Good job dumb ass" Ozi said as he busted into laughter at the hilarious idea of the next 20 miles being uncomfortably silent. Gray ignored Ozi's mocking and waited patiently for a follow up remark about the roses and heard nothing. His head turning forward and locking on the road as he sat nervously. "Well....this is great." he thought to himself after several silent miles. "Its for my son...." the old man started as he paused for a moment, his left hand rubbing his eye brows in a stressful manner as he held back several tears. "He died this week..." he continued, his hand returning to the safe driver's position of ten and two. "He aparently was apart of some underground organization that fights...and they killed him for trying to leave." he paused once more, a stream of tears quitely running down his face as he fought back the idea of sobbing hysterically. "Fuck...." Ozi went on as he shook his head. "Why does your ears not have a mute button. I can't listen to this sob story." Ozi's heartless humor didnt go over well with Gray as he threw his head back and slammed it against the head rest, shaking the void in his mind and roughing Ozi up a little bit. "Was it not usual for him to participate in something like that?" Gray asked curiously as he looked in the distance toward the village. "Yea..." he paused as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a napkin to wipe away some of the tears. "He was an adventures and curious boy...from what I heard he went into the program to try and find a way to shut the system down. They apparently killed a close friend of his and he wanted to shut them down." he finished as the tears had dried up and his eyes seemed to carry nothing but rage for a few moments. Gray locked his focus on the old man as he got a brilliant idea. "When we get to town, point me in the direction of someone that can get me into this underground club..." he finished as he looked away. His fist gripping tightly shut as he closed his eyes for a moment and thought about all the horrible things that he may have to do. "Boy..." he started. "The last thing I need in my long life is the thought of sending another young man to his untimely death. You do not have to do anything for me, especially that." He finished as his tone took a more serious edge. "Sir, with all do respect....I am nothing like your son or his friend." Gray replied as he turned to lock eyes with the older man. His eyes filled with fire and anger and putting off an uneasy feeling to the old man. He could tell that Gray was different, something about the look in his eyes told him that Gray was a warrior and not your average man. Could he be one of those warriors that fly around and shoot energy from their hands? If he was than he may stand a chance taking out this organization and putting all those victims to rest. The following day after Gray had finally arrived to the small village he attended the funeral of the young man and followed the boy's father around for the next few days. Watching the attitude of the village seem to diminish before his eyes in just the few hours that he had walked around. "Has this town always been like this?" Gray asked as he looked to the old man for answers. "No, this village used to be a happy place until this drug dealer came here about six or seven months ago." he said as he paused for a moment. "Now that you mention it thats about the time the underground fight league started up. That's when several of the bright and talented young men of this town were recruited and violently died shortly after." his eyes locked with Gray and sharing their disappointing glare with him. "So....how do they go about recruiting for these fights..." Gray's eyes scanning the streets around them to look for anyone that seemed to be observing those around him. "I am not sure, usually they start fights with young men publiclly and there are several people 'Scouting' as the fight goes on." he finished as he nodded his head toward the corner of the nearest street. Gray's eyes diverted and focused on a young man that was leaning against the wall, his hat tilted slightly down to hide his face as he crossed his arms. "I see..." Gray started as he turned slowly away from the young man and noticed another walking in his direction. "They are coming to try and recruit me then..." he finished as he slowly rose to his feet. "What are you doing?!" the old man nervously asked as Gray started to walk away from the table. "Just stay there...." he said under his voice but loud enough for the older man to hear. He knew that things may get heated here in just a moment, especially since he was about to put on a show. "Hey ass hole" a voice came from over Gray's shoulder, he turned around slowly. If he was unaware of the mans presence the punch may have caught him off guard. As the right fist came closer to his he leaned back and let it pass, his making eye contact with the strangers as his momentum carried him forward. Gray's right hand swung under the arm and threw a small uppercut into the man's stomach forcing his body to a halt and up in the air just a little bit. His left wrapping around the mans waist and gripping his belt tightly, his right shifting upwards toward his collar as he pulled both simultaneously and spun the man over and slamming him onto his back. The man in the baseball cap leaned off of the wall and onto his feet, starting a slow walk to gray. A night stick slipped down from his jacket sleeve as he sprinted toward him with his right arm out. Swinging wide with enough force to knock out an unknowing man instantly. However his attack came to a sudden halt as Gray grabbed a hold of the night stick and jerked the gentleman towards him, his right knee rising up quickly and slamming just under the 10th rib. The crackling pop was as violent internally as it sounded externally. His fractured rib puncturing into the base of his lung's, its sharp edges ripping into the pleural space in his chest cavity forcing a pnuomothorax. "Thats some quite impressive martial arts you have there..." a voice from around the corner announced as it followed with a few quick claps. "Beautifully done!" he shouted in excitement as his hands fell to his side. "I am Ryuk and I am...." he started and paused for a moment to look for the proper words to describe his title. "a recruiter of sorts." he finished as he pulled a card out of his pocket and handed it to Gray. "So your a talent agent eh?" Gray asked sarcastically as he turned away from him and started to walk away. "Where are you going boy?" Ryuk's tone quickly changed from a friendly and welcoming presence to a more harsh and angered. "You smell funny, I wanted to get my distance".Gray's sarcastic tone carried through the air and fell onto more than just Ryuk's ears. Several cackles of laughter went on behind him as he walked away. "Fine..." Ryuk responded, his hand reaching into his jacket and pulling out a side arm. Quickly firing it into the sky to let Gray know he had it and then pointed it toward the old man that had given Gray the ride. Gray turned around, his eyes connecting with the helpless expression of the old man. "What?" he questioned as he turned his head rebelliously. "Do you really think I care if you kill some old fart in this town that I have no ties with?" he said as he rose his right hand in the air and pointing a single finger up in the air. "Dueces" he responded as a second finger rose to reveal a peace sign. He was willing to call out the strangers bluff to see if he would really follow through. Gray was quick enough to step in if things got out of hand, but he couldn't walk away to fast. "Nah? How about twenty-five thousand zennie?" Ryuk asked as he dropped the gun to his side realizing that forcing this stranger to do things was not the answer. "We will give you twenty five if you come and fight at least one fight for my boss, if you win there will be more...much much more" he went on, desperately trying to recruit someone of his abilities. "Sure..." he replied as he started to walk slowly toward Ryuk. His eyes slowly making their way to the old man as he tilted his head down to hide his expression. He smiled in confirmation for the old man that he knew what he was doing and to not worry about was gonig to happen next. After several minutes of walking the two of them had finally made their way to what appeared to be a normal laundry shop. "Here we are..." Ryuk said as he held his hand up in the air like one of those game show girls. "Looks like a clean joint!" Gray responded jokingly as he slapped his belly in laughter. "Your embarrassing..." Ozi replied as he shook his head in disbelief. "This is our base of operations, this is where we come to do the fights and where you are gonna make your money!" Ryuk responded as he pointed two fingers at Gray in buddy Jesus like style. "Thats awkwardly reassuring!" Gray responded as he reached for the door knob but was halted by Ryuk's halting hand gesture before he could open the door. "What?" Gray responded curiously as he withdrew his hand from the door handle. "Your entrance is this way!" Ryuk responded as he reached for a doorbell, pressing it and revealing a trap door beneath Gray that sent him in an uncontrollable spin through the ducts of the traps path and into the basement below. "Its a good thing we saw that coming a mile away...how long are you going to sell this bid for?" Ozi asked as he was beginning to become bored. "Till we find out whos in charge..." Gray responded as he rotated his body enough to brace himself to land as he landed on his feet in the center of what appeared to be a large cage of some sorts, the blinding lights focused on his location. "Ladies and Gentleman!!!!! Behold! the Orange demon from the East!" the announcer shouted across the intercom. "Do they know that I am inside you?" Ozi questioned as he focused on the lights and sounds of the arenas. "No...we didn't transform or ever refer to it. We even withdrew from using our Ki in public so that we could remain hidden" Gray thought to himself so that Ozi could hear it. "He will be taking on the Demon from the North! The blades of death! Let us not forget Stewart the striker!" the announcer continued as several lights came on to various corners of the arena revealing the other combatants that were waiting within. "This will be a last man standing free for all death match!" the announcer went on as the lights dimmed and started to spin. "Fighters on your mark...." the announcer paused as a loud bang went off. The lights focusing on the far corner of the ring where a man lay dead upon the floor. "It appears we are having technical difficulties. It appears that the demon from the north decided to take a short cut out of this bought!" the announcer finished as all the lights in the arena came on. Revealing the audience of what appeared to be several thousand people around the room. "This...is insane..." Gray whispered as he spun a small circle to view the audience." "Fighters! Go!!!!!" The announcer shouted as the lights dimmed once more and focused just on the arena itself. Blade of death charged towards Stewart the striker and threw a blade into the air, his body rolling into the guard of the striker and sliding his blade across the belly of the striker. His body splitting open immediately and his guts dropping out of the open wound within his midsection. The unseen crowd around them burst into cheer and shouts of excitement and boo's of disappointment. "Holy crap!!!!" the announcer shouted as the crowd reacted. "That was the fastest we have ever seen someone drop to the ground!" he went on as the crowd cheered some more. "Now its just the demon and the blades left standing! Who will walk away with the extra twenty five thousand!." he finished as the flights spun around the room before finally focusing on the two remaining fighters. The blade charged toward Gray, his right scimitar leading the charge as his left drug on the ground creating sparks. He stepped into the guard of Gray, the blade slicing straight through Gray's black Gi. Gray locked his elbow to his side pinning the blade to his body without taking any damage. Blade's response was to drag his left blade wide to take a wide swipe into Gray's side but was stopped as Gray reached his foot out and kicked the blade away. "Your sword play is impressive..." he whispered politely complementing the warrior as he rose his left knee to meet the elbow of blade's, sending out a sickening crack as his distal humerus ripped off the ulcrenon process that kept his elbow together. The warrior dropped down to his knees and screamed in pain, the entire crowd silent as they watched in amazement. "Holy Poop! Look at that! Blades was taken out almost as fast as he took out the striker!" the announcer shouted as the crowd remained silent, a dim light highlighting on an upper balcony where a shadowy figure watched from above. Gray let the broken arm go as it fell limp to blade's side. He smirked as he threw his knee into blade's chin and sent him flying backwards and sliding across the ground violently. He started to walk slowly towards the fallen warrior, stopping just several feet away from him and looking up toward the announcers area and the shadowy figure above. He felt there was no need to kill off this man since he could be rendered harmless for the rest of his time on earth. Meanwhile the man who stood upon a balcony looking down to a crowd of rowdy participants and observers. He had created his empire upon the idea of the underground fight league with many followers. He stepped up to the rail that overlooked the small arena and looked down to an orange haired boy standing over the body of one of his previous winners. "Impressive..." he thought to himself as the man lay on the ground, awaiting the call for his death or his life. "Lets see how good this man really is...." he thought to himself as he reached into his pocket, tossing down a pill to the man on the ground. "Round 2...." he said with a smirk as he tossed the drugs to the downed warrior. He needed for this fight to last longer, but this orange haired warrior was not letting it happen. "Lord Fayzr is saying go for round two has he tosses down a supplement for our very own blades!!!!!" the announcer shouted in joy as the lights focused on a regular low powerleveled man named Fayzr. "The boss himself calls for the continuation of this fight!" The announcer went on giving off the only that thing Gray was waiting to hear. The drug slammed onto the ground and bounced around a couple of times before it stopped several feet from Blades. "So your the guy in charge of this?" Gray looked up and asked as he walked away from Blades and towards the announcer. "I'm the last thing that you should be paying attention to boy....but yes I am the boss...." Fayzr finished as he shook his head in disbelief that Gray would pay more attention to the things above him rather than the man in the ring that could kill them. Gray vanished from sight for a moment and reappeared between blades and the drug that was tossed down to him. The whole crowd gasping as they witnessed the display of Gray's ability. He reached down and grabbed the drug, holding into the air above his head to observe it. "interesting..." Gray finished as he threw the drug out of the ring while looking up toward Fayzr. "He has special abilities! This man has real potential to become the new champion!" The announcer went on as he started to chant Gray's name, the crowd following suit as Fayzr clapped in excitement. His hand reaching down beside him to grab hold of a black duffel bag that he tossed off the side of the balcony toward Gray. He landed with a loud though, his eyes diverted toward the money for a moment before looking back to Fayzr. "I would rather end you..." Gray said allowed as he put the crowd to pure silence as they were surprised by his response. Gray vanished from their sight once more, this time reappearing behind the drug lord on the balcony, his hand placed gently onto his right shoulder as he stood firmly behind him. "What..." Fayzr said in a panicked whisper. He felt the pressure of Gray's hand on his shoulder as he nervously look over towards him. "This is the end for you, Im sorry..." Gray said as his left hand gently placed against the back of his head, his index finger pointing toward the occipital bone. He let out a burst of energy in the form of a finger blast, ripping through his bone and brain matter. Splattering it all around the room like a smashed watermelon contest. Gray's eyes fell shut in shame at the idea of taking this man's life, but he needed to send a message to his followers that this business of running an underground deathmatch was wrong. The crowd all around him yelled in panic as they trampled over each other to escape the bloody chaos. "Humans..." Ozi started as he watched the panic beneath him. "reminds me of my old stomping grounds when I had my demonic form..." he smiled as he thought of several events and blood rampages that he went on before the demon hunter had killed him and forced his soul to find a new host. "I wish...I wish I didn't have to kill him...but I feel this was the only way to stop it from happening." Gray's eyes shut tightly as his fist clinched, his other hand letting go of Fayzr's body and letting it fall over the balcony and to the ground. "At least this way it will send a message to all the wanna be drug dealers that this is a no go. And that old man's boy can rest in peace knowing no one else will suffer that way again." Gray finished as he looked towards the dark ceiling, wondering if this event will scar him or if he will carry on without any doubts.
