Previously on Dragon Ball Rem:

5 years ago The Justice League, led by Rem and Kular, found themselves on Namek during one of its most perilous trials. Kabal, an ancient Super Namekian, had returned from his Exile into the Universe beyond Nameks borders; and finding his people much weaker than in those bygone days when he had first been cast aside, he began to Foment Rebellion upon the peaceful world.

Kabal was the strongest warrior the JL had ever faced, and his knowledge of those Lost and Ancient mystical powers of the Namekku-Sei made of him an even greater threat than his Power Level alone would have warranted.

For weeks Guru's Loyalists battled Kabal's Seijin, and just when it looked as if the abomination would consume the Entire Namekian Race in his attempt to control it, Rem discovered a secret Power within himself and unleashed it upon Kabal.

The Phoenix Force annihilated Kabal, releasing the spirits of Hundreds of Namekians he had forcefully absorbed into himself. Hundreds of others awoke from mind control, and soon the survivors had gathered together the Dragon Balls, and wished to undo all the damage done, and return all the lives lost at the hands of Kabal.

The scars of those Dark Days, however, could never truly be forgotten or washed away.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Unbeknownst to Rem or Kular, Kabal was not the only surviving Ancient. His twin brothers, Kult and Klan felt the death of their Brother, and immediately began the years long trek BACK to Namek.

Even now, as Rems own Darkened Soul feels pulled back to his world during the middle of the Arlian Conquest, Kult and Klan grow ever nearer...

"Dad?"

Rems eyes traced patterns among the stars for a few seconds further, attempting to pierce the veil of space and time that separated him from...

"Yeah, Xandrus?" Rem asked, white smile gleaming dangerously behind the black face as he turned his head down to stare at his son.

"You're doing it, again."

Rems smile disappeared, his mouth tightening into something akin to a grimace. "Yeah... "

"What are you looking for?"

Rem shrugged, turning away from the beautiful nightscape, throwing one arm across his sons shoulders. "Sometimes... I get the feeling that I... have unfinished work?"

Xandrus contemplated this, frowning. "Isnt that like, why we're here? I mean, with your friends..." Xandrus bit back what he was going to say, changing tactics, "Arent we here to do that? Gather allies, strike back against the Cosmic Emperor? Finish what the League started all those years ago? Whatever it takes."

Rem nodded. "Yeah, but... This is different... This is like.... A feeling I left the light on in a room in a house I once lived in. Only, not... not really...."

The two of them strolled back towards the Legions Encampment, far outside the city borders of the Arlian Capital. Dozens of fighters from various races and creeds sat around, laughing, joking... Sharpening weapons and telling boastful tales.

It almost felt natural, like the good old days come anew. Only, the faces were all different.

"I'm going to go grab some sleep." Rem said, extracting himself from his son and beginning to walk towards his tent.

Xandrus stood there for long seconds, watching after his troubled Sire...

----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------

Green and Red energy laced through the air. The smell of burnt corpses, the screams of dying warriors... "Well, what now?" Asked a voice to his left. "I think we're fucked."

Rem turned, Kular. Of course it was Kular. Always faithful, always stalwart. "Still got a bit of energy left?"

Kular nodded once, eyes locked onto the enemy in the distance.

"Good, then at least we won't feel completely useless as we go get ourselves killed."

Kulars face turned to him, a savage grin spreading across his volfen visage. Then, like the beast he was, he howled as he charged down the Valley... towards certain death...

-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------

Rem awoke in a start, jerking into a sitting positon so fast an instant headache set in. His pallet was soaked, his sweat having drenched it as he dreamt.

"Kabal..." Rem muttered, a spike of fear, a thrill of dread coursing through him- as if saying the name of the Abomination alone could spell doom.

"Father?" Xandrus burst through the tent, apparently having heard the fretful manner in which Rem woke from the nightmare.

"What are you doing awake?" Rem asked, his mood shifting to anger- it was more comfortable than dread, than fear...

"I..."

"I don't need a fucking nanny, Xandrus. You're going to have to stop this shit. Nothing is going to fuck with me in the middle of my own encampment, surrounded by powerful warriors. And me the strongest of them all!"

Rem rose to his feet, one hand swiping away beads of sweat that dotted his face.

"Sorry, Dad... I..."

"I'm leaving." Rem interrupted him.

Xandrus' look of confusion, disorientation over the change in conversation was evident. "O.. kay. We... going to break camp early?"

Rem shook his head, anger already passing... He had no rage in his heart for his own son... Not truly. "No... I... Remember the conversation earlier tonight?" When the young mutant nodded, Rem continued. "That light is an old enemy, and the old house... is Namek."

"But... we just LEFT Namek a few weeks ago... With the PTO in force there you said we needed to...."

"I KNOW what I said." Rem dismissed the boys arguements, his OWN arguements with a wave. "But this.... this is something else entirely."

Xandrus, still obviously confused, slowly nodded. "I'll go grab Colos and Giza. We'll..."

"No." Rem said, knowing the boys would have no chance against something like Kabal, if he truly was... what, returned? That couldnt be possible..

"Follow the plan, here. Be my eyes and my hands while I am away. Push the Rauga. Complete victory will be ours here, Soon. No quarter, no mercy. PUSH them hard." Rem insisted.

"I... Okay, Dad... We'll beat 'em, for sure."

Rem smiled then, strolling forward and nodding forward until his forehead touched his sons. "Good boy. I'll be back in a few days. A week or two tops. Just... have to check something."

Chapter 1: Down to the River to Pray...

Three days passed in the desolate subterranean catacomb. Once, Rem fell easily into meditation, and could stay within its embrace for long hours or even days until hunger drove him to emerge.

But now... on the cusp of his meeting with the Elder of his People, Rem found himself unable to concentrate. He fidgeted, he let his mind wander... Time and again he would open his eyes and glance down at his hands. His hands that were still black. The black of dark emotions and whelling power.

The Darkness would not recede this time...

How could Rem, Kaisen, Elder of Battles, go upon the near Messianic figure of Guru like.... this?

The first day passed in an impatient and short fused series of chunks of minutes at a time. The next day came and went, perhaps a bit easier... perhaps simple distressed boredom gave the man a modicum of success.

Still, time and again he would explode into short bouts of impatience and destructive anger- which only served to bring the Inky Blackness expand back over whatever areas it may have retreated from.

Day three came, and Rem knew either way it would be his last... His mind focused, his anger abated at least a bit. Morning became afternoon stretched to evening. Though the suns never set on Namek, the cycle of life turned all the same.

Hours upon hours his mind delved in upon itself, seeking out that place of transcendent peace and calm. At times, he felt it... There, at the peripheries... Like warm sunlight though Sol be unreachable... He basked in it anyway, and while never quite managing to reach that fugue state of relaxation and tranquility, there was a calming effect upon his ragged spirit.

The day ended, and like waking from a gentle nap, Rem's eyes opened slowly. Before he looked down, before he rose, the Namekians mind traveled back... Far back to that place so near that Sun of Peace he had sought...

A prayer returned to him, something his adopted Earth 'father' had repeated... A prayer the Namekian had not recalled in many centuries. He spoke it aloud now, hoping to conjure the power of the prayer, of the creator, to help him...

Quote:

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Rem rose then, exiting the cave to stand in the sunlight of his homeworld once more. His eyes closed as his neck strained and his face lifted up towards Biruga, the largest Sun in the Namekian Sky.

Seconds stretched and silence reigned supreme. A light zephyr rolled gently across his naked back. Finally, with what might have been sated contentedness, Rem sighed out an expulsion of stress, and anger, and hatred...

And then he looked down. For a solitary and beautiful moment a sense of accomplishment and joy rushed through Rem as his hands, Green, and muscles, taut Pink, showed his success. He COULD push through the darkness. He could... he...

His eyes traveled the lengths of his arms, to his biceps, where inky jet coloring swam as if alive within his muscles. He looked down, to his legs, where the black had barely retreated at all. Into the placid lake beside which he stood he turned his attention, and felt sudden despair at the sight of black lines upon his cheeks. Black tendrils reaching across his visage...

Rems soul bottomed out then. The peace, the joy, the hope... all of it evacuated him in an instant. What was left was naught but a dull numbess. An acceptance...

Without another word Rem turned away from the lake and strode back into the blackened cave, gathering and adorning his garments and gear. He had wasted three days upon this fucking planet already. Three days in which his plans for conquest of Arlia might have been expedited had he been there.

No more time for fucking around. No more time spent attempting to appease Guru's sensibilities. Rem was what he was, and the Elder would simply have to accept it...

Chapter 2: War and Peace...

Dozens of figures stood still, simply watching as Rem touched down in the center of GuruTown. The place had grown since last Rem had visited, though not much. Civilians and Warriors alike stared at him. Some in shock, some in awe. They must have heard the story by now...

How, after years of being thought dead in the Purge, Rem had returned from a mission to the Andromeda Galaxy only to find the results of that terrible time laid bare. Friends dead, allies scattered to the winds... How Rem had gathered together a group of warriors and had set off into the Galaxy to seek vengeance.

How he had led his people into a trap, and how he had only managed to rescue them after accepting Demonic Powers, only with which he could overcome his foes. How those who had survived long enough to be saved had returned to Namek, without Rem... Who hadn't had the courage to show his face since.

Rem ignored them, purposefully strolling straight towards the entrance of Guru's Home, his face unmoving, showing no signs of emotion... Could they see the black creeping along his jawline? Across his cheeks? Down the back of his neck, spreading from the pulsing veins at his temples? So what... This had been the cost to save his people, no one could judge him... No one.

Rems arms moved forward and shoved the large twin doors open, entering the large hall of the Grand Elder. Without pause or reservation he dropped to one knee, bowing his head low.

"Rem?" The aged voice cracked out.

"Yes, Sempai." Rem said, rising to his feet.... and going stock still.

He had not noticed the collection of individuals in the room when he had opened the doors... But now...

Kizu, of course, stood to the Elders Right, hand resting upon the hilt of his heron-marked sword. To the left was Paryl, perhaps Rem's most trusted and strongest student, back when he had resided full time on Namek... Beside Paryl was a strange, almost doglike Robot. Zell... a former student who's spirit had been sucked out of his body and trapped in a crystal. A crystal which now powered his robotic body.

And finally... off to the side... The one person Rem had definitely not wanted to see... Not wanted to face...

His Wife.

"I..." Rem began, unable to think how to continue. "Appreciate you... gathering my friends to welcome me..." He said awkwardly, eyes darting from one set of eyes to another, unable to meet any of them for long. "But..." Instant recrimination on Paryl and Jens face. He pushed on... "But... I fear we have a major problem."

Near the back of the group came a burst of laughter. "Hah! Why would you say that? WHICH problem might that be, Kaisen . The word was drenched in sarcasm, the title of respect for the 'Elder of Battles' sounding like a curse in Kizu's mouth. "Perhaps the PTO? Who now claim this world as their own and slaughter our people who displease them? Or the Saiyans, who randomly just invade and try to either wipe us out, or take our Dragon Balls- depending on how they feel that day. Maybe you mean the Robots, who still come out of the wood work once in a while to plague us... Or... or did you mean some OTHER problem, KAISEN."

The fire, the rage in Kizus eyes was a bonfire of emotion. Apparently, Rems absence hadn't gone unnoticed. And as he looked across the room, one face after another fell; unable to meet his gaze.

These people... truly held no faith in him....

"You fucking ungrateful people." Rems voice surprised even him. Jen, Paryl, and Guru all jerked in surprise.

"You have no clue what 'problems' are. I have been fighting and bleeding every day since my return for our people, one way or another. Even now, I have left the battlefield of Arlia to come...."

"ARLIA?" Kizu roared, apparently mystified by the comment. "What the FUCK does Arlia have to do with helping YOUR people."

Rem didn't hesitate, simply shifted a dozen feet forward. His sword was already in hand, and laid bare across Kizus throat before the Bodyguard could react. "Interrupt me one more fucking time, and our Grand Elder will be needing to spit out another egg to replace you."

"REM!" It was Jen. Her surprise, her horror at his actions and words...

"Jen, honey...." Her eyes widened in anger at THAT, or more likely his tone which conveyed the need for her to shut the fuck up. "If you would give me a fucking second to talk here..."

Rem straightened, removed the sword from Kizu's throat, and breathed out... "Like I said. I know about what is going on here, on Namek. But the wars have ravaged our people, and many of them are just too weary to fight anymore. Even I can see that. So Arlia. A Planet full of potential allies, just waiting for a grand liberator to free them. Once I have destroyed the last remnants of the Rauga and Saiyan forces on Arlia, I can truly begin the campaign to....

"War." Paryl said, quietly. He always spoke so softly... "You fight a War, so that if you win, you can fight another?"

Rem was honestly dumbstruck by the statement. "I... well... Y... Yes. I have to save our people... To save everyone..."

Awkward silence filled the room. Finally, Rem banished it with a huff...

"Thats not why I'm here though. Like I was saying, i LEFT the war on Arlia to come here to warn you... I fear.... Kabal is returned."

All eyes in the room except Jen and Guru went wide with horror. Jen had not even been in this timeline when Kabal had plagued Namek. Gurus calm was... something else.

He spoke then, finally. For the first time since Rems entry. "Kabal is dead, and will never return."

Rem didnt quite know how to respond to such a sweeping statement. He tried anyway. "I have felt him, though... I have felt a growing..."

"A growing Darkness." Guru cut him off, "A threat to the future of Namek... Something Familiar, something very akin to what you felt when you fought Kabal, yes?"

Rem nodded as Guru explained what he had been feeling even better than he could have. There was silence. And then more.

"Kabal is gone, Rem... But the Darkness IS Growing... And its actions may very well bring about the downfall of Namek itself..."

Rems face was confused, "Then... who? Where? I'll stop him. I defeated Kabal, the strongest of the Ancient Super Nameks, surely I can defeat this new threat."

Silence.

Eyes cast away from him.

Eyes turned aside.

Kizu clenching the hilt of his weapon harder...

Rem didnt even realize he was going to burst out laughing, "HAH!" Then sudden seriousness descended upon him. "No. Don't be fucking ridiculous."

No one would speak, no one WOULD FUCKING LOOK AT HIM!

"LOOK AT ME GOD DAMN IT! IF YOU FUCKERS ARE GOING TO STAND HERE AND CLAIM ME THE HARBINGER OF DEATH THEN YOU'LL BY FUCKING KAMI LOOK AT ME!"

Rage.

The fucking impertinence of these people. The fucking gall. The ungrateful, back stabbing mother fuckers. How DARE they. How fucking Dare they.

Jen was the first to look up, and her eyes went wide- whites almost completely overwhelming her pupils. "Your face..." She whispered.

Rem knew, of course he knew. The Inky Blackness of the Majin power had returned in full force now. He didn't care. He had been betrayed too many times, and now THIS?

"Kami banishing me from Earth to protect Humanity from the Cosmic Empire I could understand." Rem began to speak, low and gravelly. "Avalon, misunderstanding my intentions after what I did on Damaskia and Vegeta, I can understand..."

"Sai, turning his back on me and embracing his Saiyan Heritage I could almost empathize with..."

Rems face rose, fully black with red, dangerous eyes glaring at the group before him. "But this is beyond the fucking pale of Acceptance. This is blasphemy. This is heresy. This is a betrayal THAT WILL NOT FUCKING STAND!" His roar thundered through the small room, causing dishware to rattle, and the figures standing before him to leap out of the skins a bit.

"YOU ARE THE BETRAYER!" Roared Kizu, and he charged.

On his best day, and Rems worst, Kizu could not have come close to landing the sword strike. But on this day he did. The Namekian Forged Katana struck Rem square across the neck...

And shattered.

"Fucking die, pissant." Rem growled, sending his head forward in a flashing headbutt that absolutely shattered the bodyguards nose and cheek bones. He fell to the ground boneless...

"In hindsight, Elder", and now it was Rems voice dripping with condescension for a title. "Perhaps Kabal had not been wrong... If a strong leader had seized control of this world, if Kabal had succeeded... Would our people now be where they are? Would we be so reliant on the strength of forces too weak to protect their OWN Planet, that we crumble when the first alien ships descend upon the planet?"

"Oh the threat is real, Grand Elder... But it wasnt Kabal... and it isnt me. I see clearly now. The problem with Namek... is you! Weak, ineffective. Sitting within your ivory tower passing judgements while the rest of us work to solve our peoples Problems..."

"I FEEL IT IS TIME FOR A NEW GRAND ELDER, GURU!"

Chapter 3: Something old, Something new.

"Home, brother... Isn't it Exciting?" Klan stared out the viewport of the massive cloaked vessel as stars spat past to either side as they hurtled through Light Space.

"Hmm..."

"Aww, don't be like that. Come now, won't it be great to fuck some fine, proper Namekian Girls for the first time in... Shit, Millenia."

"..."

"Heh. Yeah, you're right. Them Andorian Bitches were delicious... Mmm..." For a few moments the talkative villain stared off into distant memory. Then, his eyes focused and then wandered across the bridge of the ship. "They made fine Capital Ships too... You know, before they went extinct."

"Heh."

Klan grinned at his brother. Both seemingly reveling in the snuffing of the brightest candle in the Fornax Galaxy. Seven billion had lived on the Andorian homeworld, with another 3.5 Billion Colonists, and a few hundred thousand 'Space Rangers'. Hunting down the last had been a chore, but with Cerebro, a device taken from the Xavians- another now-extinct species, this one from the Ursa Minor Galaxy, it had been all too easy...

"They really should have just handed over the Nega Bands..." Klan murmuered, mostly to himself. "Not that it would have saved them... Too dangerous to exist... Anyone who can threaten the Kovenent is too dangerous..."

"Uh-Hmm." Kult agreed, stepping forward and squinting at the viewscreen. For but a few moments he held the pose, then pointed at a small dot far before them.

"Really?" Klan asked, moving up and studying the screen, "You know what... it is a triple star system. I think you're right, bro. Biruga... Midena...Samaga..." Names he had neither spoken, nor heard in over 500 years. The suns that had once shined upon the two former residents of the Namekian Homeworld. The Celestial bodies that Namek orbited between.

"Home..." Klan said aloud, tasting it...

...continued.

A few short hours later the ship drops out of hyperspace and effortless shifts itself into a low orbit around the world. "Things have changed..." Klan says, noticing at least 3 different variations in ships. "Huh... That's weird..."

"Hm?"

"Its... depopulated." Kult looks at him deadpan for a moment, so Klan continues. "Well, I KNOW a lot of people died back then... But its been 500 years. and there are less than 100,000 people on Planet. Half of which are Namekku-Sei."

"Hm!" Kult hadn't noticed that data yet. It was... interesting. In 500 years, the Namekian People should have recovered at least into the millions. The two begin to delve into the data. Data was always interesting. Data revealed secrets and bestowed power in the form of knowledge. Data was like god to an adherent.

--------------------------------------

Hours later...

"Holy shit..." Klan whispered in horror. "No fucking way..."

"Eh?"

"Kult... Theres... Theres no women."

"... huh?""

"When we left... when it all went down... All of the women... died. Apparently things got worse, even after we left. There were only 2 survivors, both men. That Kataz motherfucker, and that little shit, Guru."

Kult looks blankly at Klan for a moment, then turns to a viewscreen and indicates it. On screen, it shows a count of 51,015 Namek life signatures on Planet.

"That's..." Klan looked disgusted. "That's the fucked up part man. Instead of dying off gracefully, APPARENTLY, Guru decided to host the galaxys biggest sausage party." Klans nostrils flared, then sneered. "He began to reproduce... by himself."

Kults eyes went wide. Even the Kovenant had never... that was abomination. That was sacrilege. Heresy. Genetic Immortality? Self Sexualization? It was possible, sure... But those who had done it in the past had been purged from the gene pool. It was beyond something civilized beings would consider. It was barbaric...

Kult looked at the number on the viewscreen and felt sick. What had Guru done? This was beyond the pale.

"Theres no women, man..." Klan whispered. "A five year fucking drive home, and theres no women?" Klan looked seriously annoyed, "This is going to fucking suck."

Kult could not disagree...

Chapter 4: Regicide, Interrupted.

"Stop!"

The corners of Rem's eyes twitched as he looked down. Jhen's diminuative hand punched into his chest. It was ineffectual. Once, perhaps, she might have been able to consider herself in the same general league as Rem. Now? She was as a child to him.

"Move, woman." Rems voice was hard, and he looked away- eyes locking back on the fat slob sitting unmoving before him. "Don't make me move you." The warning in his voice was as the low thumming growl of a Rottweiler.

"You WILL stop this, Rem. You're completely out of line." She was fierce, he had to give her that. Fearless. That was her mistake. She should definitely fear him. He wasn't the same 'hero' she'd met thousands of years in the past.

When her fist rose and came down towards his chest once more he struck like a viper. His left hand moved, clamped around her wrist and squeezed, then pushed her away. She hit the ground before her nervous system let her brain know that her wrist had been broken. She screamed then. The fear and pain in her eyes should have evoked a response in Rem.

Instead, he simply put a boot to her chest and began to press down... down...

"Quiet, woman. You brought this on yourself, and I don't want to hear your whining about it now." Her screams quickly descended in volume to tortured whimpers. Rem pressed harder, feeling her chest cavity beginning to bow inwards. With her lungs being forcibly compressed all sound soon stopped. "That's better..." Still, he didn't release pressure. She began to hiccup as her deoxygenated brain began to rebel against its current state. He pressed on, his eyes taking on a speculative look as he gazed upon his dying bride.

Paryl had enough then. Knowing it was futile, but unable to restrain himself any longer he lunged at Rem. He tried to tackle the Superior Namekian, tried to remove him off of Jhen.

It was almost embarrassing, however. Paryl looked like an elementary schooler attempting to take down a professional wrestler. His body slammed into Rem, and bounced off. He caught himself, and then began to drive his legs like pistons into the ground as he strained with all his strength against his Master.

Finally, Rem's foot came off Jhen's chest. It struck upwards with a devastating blow that cracked Paryls jaw when Rems knee hit him. He went out like a broken lightbulb, falling unconscious beside Jhen with all the dignity of a wet rag.

All was silent for a moment. Kizu and Paryl were unconscious, probably dying. Jhen's eyes were rolling back in her head as she too drifted into the black.

Rem and Guru were alone.

"Where was I?" Rem asked.

"You'd decided I should die for saying you were a threat to the Namekian People." With significance, Guru let his gaze move across the bodies strewn around him.

"Right." Rem said, his mouth twisting as it tried to both smile and frown in disgust.

... continued.

Moments passed as the two gazed at each other. Predator and Prey. A cat and its resigned mouse. Finally, FINALLY after what seemed an eternity Rem saw it. Rem SAW the moment Guru broke.

One moment the ancient patriarch was grim faced but unyielding to the fate plain before him, and in the next his eyes were wide, his mouth opening in a desire to refuse to accept death. It was delicious. Oh Gods above Rem had never felt anything so fulfilling as he did in that moment when Guru went from an unflappable father figure, to a spineless worm...

Rem's eyes began to half close in spiritual pleasure. His heart pounded the blood of an apex predator through him with the intensity of war drums.

"Rem..." Guru began...

"It's over, Pops." Rems hand began to rise. As much as he wanted to draw this out, his sense of dramatic timing demanded Guru's death at the pinnacle of his fear and impotence. If he waited too long, Guru might discover his vertebrae-status once more and that simply would not do.

"Rem, I... You... Were...."

"Right?" Rem asked, energy flickering in his palm just a few feet from Gurus face. "I know." That growing flicker of energy grew to became a ball and Rem brought his arm back, preparing to drive it forward and through the aged Namekians chest cavity. He began the forward thrust and...

*Bzzhuup*

Rem literally heard the sound of his energy fizzling out, like a match dropped in a glass of water the energy simply disappeared. Rem stumbled in surprise, dropping forward onto one knee so it appeared he was kneeling before Guru.

Rage returned. "WHAT DID YOU D..."

And then it hit him all at once. Fatigue. An overwhelming pressure thrusting down on his shoulders like an Atlas level weight.

"Wha... d'y..." Rem's tongue tied, felt heavy, refused to work right...

What the fuck power was this? Guru had THIS kind of power? Rem felt like he was dying... like every molecule of energy within him had been drained away in a moment. Like he'd gone a thousand nights without sleep. Like the weight of a solar system was resting on his chest.

Rem realized he was sweating absolute rivers suddenly. Then something absolutely stunning came to his realization. He was afraid. Terrified even. Why? Guru couldn't possess that kind of power. It was ridiculous. If he had that strength then surely he'd have used it before now. He'd have protected his people better than he had all these years.

Rem fell then, unable to resist the power that had gripped him. Unable to resist the drain of his life force departing him.

Rem, laying on his side, saw Guru. He was slumped in his chair. He still held on to its arms, but was white knuckle clenching them with a force of will. Was he struggling to do... this? Whatever this was, to Rem?

No... he wasn't even looking at Rem. He was still gazing at the spot Rem'd have been in had he still been standing. Finally, managing to roll himself, Rem turned towards the door of the Elders House.

There stood two blue skinned figures. One of them was smiling down at the stricken Majinamek. The other stared straight ahead with golden, pupilless eyes.

"Ahhh. So THIS is the one called Rem." Said the smirking one. "Got to be honest, when we heard about you we thought it would take a bit more effort to find and lay low the Warrior who had murdered our brother." His smile disappeared midway through the little speech.

He looked from Rem to Guru then. "Nephew Guru... time has not treated you well." The smile returned, "Oh, don't look so horrified to see us young one. We're saving your life after all..."

With that the two spun as one and disappeared out the door. Rem couldn't even take a breath as he was lifted via telepathy and dragged through the air behind them. Soon, he was just as unconscious as the fools who had stood in his way on his rampage to Guru.
