THAT IS ALL SO THIS IS CUT LINE----- --> <p>The sun was brilliant at hide and seek today. The clouds were very selective, yet the sun found a way to hide behind every single passing cloud. The blue skies were at a loss every few minutes to their King Sun. Barkley looked up toward the sun herself and the shadows overwhelmed her every so often. That was the neat part about the shadows and the sun; neither could survive on the same plane yet they were so connected. <p><b>So this is where Kami is supposed to be.</b> Barkley could stare upward at the sky and see how far the tower stretched. It was endless and it looked as if the tower went into the sky itself. Crimson strands of hair caught the dance of the wind and she winced her eyes closed in prevention of any debris entering them. Today she was going to climb the tower. <p><b>The Guardian of the Earth. I’m here to meet you, thanks Roshi for mentioning him.</b> She placed her hands onto the ground and brought herself to a kneel. With a push of her own ki, she jumped into the sky and like a rocket she zoomed upward. It took her only a few minutes to realize how far up it seemed to go and she grabbed onto the ledge and took a breath. <p><b>If I do this in one straight shot then I’ll probably not make it. I’ll have to do large jumps then.</b> After saying that she gripped the side of the tower and launched herself up even further and with a kick her aura blasted her upward with a bit more speed. She made a bit more progress before she latched on to the tower again. This was a challenge in itself, and there was no telling what Kami had in store for her when it came to a trial. She pushed off again and it continued this way for another couple of hours or so before she was able to see some kind of end to the tower. <p>She landed right at the top, which was an opening with a fountain and standing there was a cat. He was nice and pudgy with his eyes closed. Barkley stared at him and he stared at her. She watched him watch her watch him.<b>Hi?</b> <p><n>Hi.</n> He had a cane and pulled his hand from behind himself to cough a bit. <n>Lemme guess. Looking for Kami?</n> <p>Barkley nodded and looked around a few times before looking at him. <b>Are you Kami?</b> He shook his head. <p><n>Kami only wishes he looked this good.</n> He pointed upward and Barkley looked up at the ceiling. She then moved to the edge and looked up with a squint. She could see a dot. <n>He is up there. You are almost there. Have fun.</n> <p><b>Uhh…Who are you?</b> Barkley looked back to the cat and she stretched a bit. <b>Plus I’m a bit tired. I think I’ll rest here for a while. Are you a master or something?</b> <p>The cat looked at her, or she thought he looked at her for a moment, and there was a sudden hmph coming from his lips before he spoke again. <n>Korin. That is my name. A master? I wouldn’t say that, though I am known as someone who could teach you a thing or two about power.</n> <p>Barkley’s eyes brightened at his words. He was an uncharted master and she went to check him out on her phone immediately. She scrolled and searched and only got farm references. She would find out the farm references later on, but for now she put her phone up. <b>You aren’t anywhere on the network at all. But then again there are things my mother passed over. My father, however…</b> <p><n>You do resemble that red haired brat. You must be just like him. Can you not fly?</n> <p><b>Oh no, I can fly. I just get tired trying to fly for too long. I’m pretty resourceful, so I wouldn’t worry about me. Though, I do want to know what you can teach me. Also if it will be okay for me to crash at your place for a little while before I go do some trial that’ll probably require a lot of energy.</b> <p>Korin snickered and enjoyed her honesty and impudence. She wanted to learn something, but there was barely anything to teach her… or that he knew he could teach. Most master went for knowledge and many more dished out violence. Korin turned away from her and he walked off a bit and to the other end of the tower’s top. He looked down and then back upward.<n>You want to learn something from me? What if I told you that if you went to Kami how you were now, that you would not gain anything? You came up here missing something.</n> <p>Barkley tilted her head in curiosity.<n> Come closer, kid. I’ll show you.</n> Barkley moved closer to Korin, taking easy and cautious steps to him. There was something about this moment that brought up her defenses. It could be the fact that she barely knew the cat and he was barking orders at her. When she got closer her fears were realized when with speeds unregistered, the cat jumped behind her and kicked her off the ledge. <p>It would have been easy to just fly, but then there was something on her back that prevented her from doing so, it was a tag labeled ‘Pengiun’. As she was falling she closed her eyes and screamed frantically. The wind violently whipped against her face and kept her eyes closed all the way until she landed into a deep lake and sunk several feet under. The red haired little girl swam to the top of the lake and looked about with water drenched from her nappy hair. <p><b>I knew that cat was up to no good! Ugh! I can’t fly, what the heck does that mean!?</b> She eventually swam to the edge of the lake and pulled herself out of the water and shook the water off like a puppy before trying to wring out her hair. She then took out her phone and with a grumble of anger she began to dial a few numbers.<b>Think I’m going to sit here and catch pneumonia or something? Think again devilish cat.</b> She inputted the numbers and before she could think further, a portal cracked open in-front of her. She reached into it and pulled out a line of clothing as if it were a closet and she picked a completely different outfit to wear. <p>She pushed another button and another portal opened. Barkley stepped into the portal and without much time lost, she came out of it in that new outfit.<b>End Call.</b> She ended the ‘call’ and the portals faded away. She was not nice and dry, but there was still a lingering anger as she looked up. The tag that said penguin was still floating on her back and she knew that meeting the cat was the only way to get it off. <p>It was obvious that he wanted her to climb the tower properly for the first time. Oh, was she going to climb it. She placed her hands onto the ground like she did during her take off flight and with a mighty jump she scaled the tower by a few hundred feet before latching on to the tower. The first latching was tough, as she almost slipped off of it due to fatigue. She felt her muscles almost rip from gripping it. She took another deep breath and launched herself again. Barkley was determined to make it to the top once again, and with no breaks between. <p>Half-way up and she wanted to give up. This was the point she would stop jumping and was at a slow climb. Her muscles were too sore from having to stop all that momentum to cling to. She was moving based off of pure determination at this point.<b>Stupid…Cat…</b> Half a day had passed so far and she didn’t even feel like she would make it before the next day passed. The wind felt like daggers against her skin at some points and then felt like hammers trying to knock her off. She silently cursed the Penguin tag. <p>At the completion of the day, she could see the top. It would take just one more launch and she could grab onto the ledge. The question she was asking herself was, if she had that in her. Could she do it? Of course. But then would she have enough strength to catch herself afterwards? It didn’t matter. She launched herself with all her might and a vast yell that echoed throughout the skies. Barkley’s body rushed upward and her hand was outstretched toward the ledge. Just as she made it up there she clung to it, but felt an immeasurable amount of pain shoot through her arm. <p>She was about to let go and when she did, that was it. She was going to fall back down and who knew if she could survive the fall after this? Her fingers finally gave in, but before she could fully fall the cat’s paw came and grabbed her with enough strength to yank her up and over the railing. She landed on her back and looked up toward the ceiling with a grin on her face. She made it. Barkley had forgotten why she was mad with how tired she was, and soon drifted into a peaceful sleep with Korin looking over her with a Cheshire grin on his face.<n>There ya go kid, now you aren’t missing it.</n> <p>She woke up in a bed and she felt completely refreshed. Stretching, she sat up and looked around at her surroundings. It was a neat little room that consisted of just a bed and a mirror. Barkley got up and looked in the mirror to see that she was completely healed of fatigue, even by appearance. Her hands were soft and unscathed. Weird. Barkley moved out the room to see the cat was looking over the edge and she went over to join him. <b>So you wanted me to climb up the tower without flight huh?</b> <p><n>That is what the greatest are supposed to do. It defeats the purpose if you just fly up here. From here on out you can fly up here, but when taking a trial you should do it the hardest way possible to get the best rewards. Remember that when you go on the rest of ‘em. Now, go ahead and head up to Kami. He already knows you are on the way and has something in store for you.</n> Korin didn’t even look toward Barkley as he spoke. He continued to have his face fixed outside the railing. <p>Barkley could only nod and she jumped onto the railing and looked up toward the dot in the sky. She bent her knees and then launched into the sky toward it. It didn’t take her much longer to get up there. After a few minutes she was able to roll onto the look out and she saw the building upon the floating fortress in the sky. <b>Whoa this looks nice.</b> <p><n>Barkley Cass, I’ve been waiting for you. I am sorry that you had trouble with our mischievous guest underneath.</n> Barkley turned to see Kami, the old Namekian and Mr. Popo, the genie walking up to her. She bowed, as she did with all masters. <p><b>It is great to see you. I have traveled a long way, from Master Roshi.</b> <p><n>Yes, he told me about you and the boy Isaac who travels with you. Speaking of, he had just left after completing my trial.</n> <p>Barkley looked up with her eyes lowered. So he beat her here and did the trial already? So it was a race now? That was something to light her competitive spirit up. <b>Oh really? So he is already off to the next trial eh? So, Master Kami, what will I be doing for this master trial?</b> <p><n>You will be performing a kata. If you perform this kata correctly, you will stretch your ki points just right enough to gain a mastery over ki. It is a very difficult kata to learn and very few have done it. Isaac even took a few tries to master it, and he that surprised me. He is a talented child. Are you ready to attempt it, Barkley?</n> <p><b>Yes. I don’t have to luxury of time. Show it to me.</b> At those words Kami tossed her a scroll and she caught it with both hands. Unraveling it, she could see the movements and how to link them together. It looked extremely complex but she could see the diaphragm’s spelling of how it improved ki circulation. She sighed and she started off by reading and mimicking each one, step by step. Yoi! That stance was easy enough. Standing with her feet apart and her arms equally apart as well. <p><n>Wrong. You aren’t concentrating enough. You aren’t relaxed enough. There has to be a perfect balance. Your body is too stiff.</n> So that is what made it difficult. It wasn’t just getting into the stances, it was how your body read during the stances. She lowered her concentration and tried to relax until… <n>Stop. There you go, that is the perfect balance right there, do you feel the strain?</n> <p>She nodded. She could feel the strain in the stance. <n>Now you must perform each movement while maintaining that strain. Proceed.</n> <p>Barkley spaced her knees out and outstretched her hands, but could feel the strain leaving, she had to do it slowly in order to maintain that feeling. She rose her hands above her head and immediately there was a downpour of sweat starting at the top of her head. She finally crossed her arms, right in-front of the left and spaced her legs out completely and brought her arms down to her sides with her fist pointed outward. Those same fist opened up and were brought up toward her chest and then up to her face before being brought down, spaced apart. Her feet slid closer to each other as she turned and she went for a downward chop with her right hand, turning her hand into a fist and pulling the other fist back. <p>Punch. Step forward. Extend elbow and repeat the stance mirrored by chopping down and pulling the other fist down. She spun and then punched forward again. Her toes lined up and she waved her hands to the side before pulling one arm up above her head and the other down to her waist. The arm above her head extended downward and she pulled the other arm back while thrusting her knee forward and straightening the other leg. <p>She had soon lost the feeling of the strain, but that didn’t stop her from continuing the extensive kata, which Kami now joined in her doing. This way she did not have to watch the scroll no longer and could just mimic him. All he required her to do is, <n>Find a way to keep that strain throughout the entire kata.</n> <p>There were a total of 34 steps into the kata and they were only to step 9. She followed through with every moment of the kata until the very end, Yama, which put her back in the same state as Yoi. She was drenched with sweat and her breathing had escalated, but she knew she did not complete the kata the way it was intended. Kami looked her way after they were done. <p><n>How do you feel, child?</n> She looked up to him as he addressed her and she shook her head. <p><b>This is going to be tough, but I won’t give up I will practice this kata until I master it.</b> <p><n>Alright, come to me when you feel you have done so. I will be waiting on your progress.</n> With that Kami left Barkley there to continue practicing the kata. She took in a deep breath and tried to kata once again. After getting to step 9 she continued on to swing her arm back and then rising them once again over her head. In doing so, her legs clenched closed only to spread open and putting her on the tips of the toes while she clap her hands together. <p>Immediately she brought her hands down to the side and she repeated a few steps that included punching and stepping correctly. She could feel the tension every step of the way, yet there was still something wrong. After a few more steps, she lost it and she fell onto the ground. It continued like this for several tries before she flat out just lied on the ground and looked up to the darkening sky. <p><b>This is a lot harder than it sounds.</b> Her eyes simmered to a close for a moment as she slipped into a thought process of the kata. Each movement had put emphasis on one part of the body. Maybe if she put emphasis on that part with the tension, she could keep it and run it all the way through without losing the entire tension during the kata session. <p><n>Having trouble Miss Cass.</n> She opened her eyes to see… Isaac standing over her with a smile on his face. <n>Trust me it was difficult at first. But you are probably doing what I did. You are thinking too hard.</n> Barkley rolled up to her feet and she stretched. <p><b>So you came to teach me so I wouldn’t fall too far behind? How nice of you.</b> Isaac laughed as she said that. He shrugged though. <n>Won’t be fun if I don’t have some sort of competition, right? Think fast!</n> <p>He threw a punch and she blocked it. <n>Now, extend your leg. You feel that tension in the block, that’s it. That is the right amount. Each tension is a block. Like this!”</n> He let go of the punch he was trying to jam into her and he spun around and kicked at her waist. She blocked that one as well. Isaac grinned as he came with a few quicker strikes toward the top of her head and then down to her feet. Each strike was met with her blocking them and before she knew it, Barkley realized she was performing the kata effortlessly. <p>He did a final roundhouse kick and she completed the kata completely. At the pressure of his kick connecting to her forearm an aura erupted from Barkley and Isaac jumped back with a grin on his face as he watched the wonder on Barkley’s. Her aura was more refined and she felt more connected to it than she was before. Easily she stood out of the kata and looked down to her hands. <p><b>This feels… amazing. I can feel my ki channels feeding throughout my body.</b> She looked all around her body as if she could see them, but that really wasn’t the case. She felt the tingle throughout her bloodstream, though. Now it was time to practice this, and Isaac could tell by her face she was ready to. Both of the kids grinned mischievously. Isaac’s aura seeped out from around him and he dashed at her with a punch. <p>She easily held her hand out to catch his punch and fling him over her head. While doing that, she dipped low and let his hand go so that she could push her free palm forward with a blast of refined energy. She felt how easy it was for the ki to leave her body and how much control she had over how much of it left. This was the true purpose of the kata. Isaac smacked the blast away and he showered her with beams from his finger. <p>Barkley spun through a few of them and paddled the rest away as she tip toed over toward him for a more close range bout. Isaac, with pure anticipation, jumped forward toward her and his fist swung out almost wildly at her. The red head human weaved through a few and parried the one that would have hit her. This gave her the room she needed to swing at him next. <p>They both exchanged punches and kicks with each other for a bit before they finally landed one punch onto each other’s jaw and sent both of them spiraling away from each other. They were breathing heavy but both were grinning. <p><n>You aren’t letting up on your training at all. I guess you might be okay if another Finder pops up. You might not even need me to protect you.</n> <p>Barkley hadn’t heard about the Finders in a while. Well, she avoided messing with dimensional pockets as much as she could, except that one time yesterday. Thinking about it, she shuttered. A Finder could have popped up. She still had no idea what they were. <b>Ever going to tell me what they are? You only told me what they did.</b> <p>Isaac stood up straight and then thought about it with his hands behind his head. <n>Oh you are right. Hm. Finders are low level demons that are granted dimensional travel abilities. Someone has their eye on you, and asked for the Finders. I don’t know who, but someone asked our affiliation to watch you and some other people. You aren’t the only one so maybe they are busy with the other targets? </n> <p>Barkley’s skin had gone a bit cold hearing that. She was a target, but why? She didn’t reveal herself to anyone. Hell before she had the idea to hide her identity, she was attacked. But then… Kami knew her name without her saying something. Many of the masters knew her already. What if there was a master who was responsible? She would never know. At-least Isaac shared with her a bit of information. She could bring it to her father and he’d be able to tell who would probably want to find her. <p><b>Okay then, I’ll show this to Kami so I can get going to the next trial. Thanks Isaac you helped out a lot. Maybe at some point you can sit down and fill me all the way in on this Finder situation. <!-- I JUST WANT TO CUT THIS SO THAT IT LOOKS PRETTY NEAT AND STUFF.
