Weather or Not Difficulty: Easy Description: A mad scientist is holding the world hostage with his weather manipulation device. Making matters worse, his massively powerful android bodyguard has easily stopped any attempts at apprehending the scientist. Now you've taken it upon yourself to take the scientist down. If you can find his secret hideout, and slip past his lab's defenses, you might just have a chance at being smashed by his bodyguard. If you can take him down, however, you can capture the scientist, and collect the reward. Reward: +300 zeni, +2 DP, +20 all stats, +2 rp Credits Bonus: +10 all stats --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It seemed most of the problems revolving around technology came with a call from the Capsule Corporation. Thankfully, this one involved less dealing with gravity and more crazy person with a weather manipulation device. Why they didn’t call it a storm-bringer, Slade decided not to question. As things stood, he was standing outside of the building and sighed as he looked at the sky. It was nothing more than a large blimp with what appeared to be a large weather vane, yet it was still causing hail the size of golf balls and lightning strikes on many of the taller buildings in West City. Cracking his neck, the android let a smirk play on his lips before he lazily flew in to the ship. It was almost a joke how easy shutting down a simple machine was going to be for the android, but at least he was being paid. Sighing as he landed on the hull of the ship, he felt somewhat strange being on such a large machine that could cause untold devastation to the city. Then again, so could the android if he felt bored and sadistic enough but that bridge would be crossed when he got to it. Cracking his knuckles as he rolled his eyes, the young fighter gave a smirk as strode to the weather vane. As he got closer, Slade realized it was more of a giant tower with prongs and electrical runoff. If he had the ability, he’d be very willing to absorb the energy to grow much stronger and further push his limits. For now, however, he would have to settle for tearing it apart with his bare hands. Placing his hands on the metal, the blue-eyed android gave a slight smirk as he slowly started applying pressure to the device. It felt relatively simple enough to tip it over and send the whole thing to the ground. As he felt the device start to give way, the air was knocked out of his lungs as he skidded back. Blinking a few times to make sure he wasn’t imagining it, Slade saw a strange creature in front of him. It looked similar to him, but more simplistic and similar to a skeleton. Smirking as he realized what this was, the android rolled his right shoulder. ”Huh,” he said with a smirk. ”And here I thought I was the only android on this planet. Guess I’m still the most complete out of the two of us.” A chuckle escaped his lips as the skeleton rushed the brown-haired warrior. Taking two steps back as a fist nearly crashed into his face, Slade smiled sadistically and dove forward with a blow aimed at the other android’s abdomen. Even though the blow connected, the being didn’t even react to the impact. What could be seen as a grin on the automaton’s face was accompanied by a fist to Slade’s face. He staggered to his left and grimaced at the pain. Whoever’s bright idea it was to include pain sensors in the brown-haired man’s body should be shot if they weren’t already dead. Feeling the blimp slip from under his feet, the blue-eyed warrior let his body go and fell off. It was going to be hard to go toe-to-toe against an enemy that could seemingly shrug off any possible pain. Reorienting himself so his head wasn’t aimed at the ground, Slade returned to where he had been knocked off and smirked at the automaton. This thing seemed to be rather resilient to physical blows, but it was time to see if it could stand up to a few ki blasts. Raising his right hand and smirking, Slade released a series of ki blasts in the direction of the robot. Even though most of them missed, they were enough to seemingly distract his target. Slade took the opportunity to rush in and attempt to land a few blows. With every blow landing, he could feel the metal frame bending more as he stopped holding back. It seemed that every time he was involved with something for the Capsule Corporation, he had to use more and more of his power to complete the tasks. As the smoke cleared, the twisted form of his opponent stumbled forward before collapsing at his feet. It was almost sad how easy it was to tear apart the heap of scrap metal. Of course, he still had to figure out how to get rid of the source of the storms. It was as if his life was starting to slowly fall into place. However, he currently had to deal with a giant tower that was the bane of his existence and causing trouble for the city. Stretching out his arms, Slade sighed and ran his hands over the large pillar. He was busy looking for some sort of control panel or something that could stop the tower at least temporarily. Even if it’s just for the week, it would be nice to not deal with destruction that he would have to clean up. His fingers had come up empty as it seemed the source of power was inside the blimp itself. It would have been easy to punch his way into the ship and tear apart anything that looked like it might be important; however, he felt that would possibly take too long and cause more devastation. Sighing and curling one of his hands into a fist, Slade slammed his fist into the metal surface. A slight dent formed in the metal housing, and the android was relieved to see it wasn’t made of the same material as the robot. Grunting as he started raining blow after blow on the metal surface, a constant echo could be heard as metal kept colliding with metal. The pain and numbness radiating through his arms forced Slade to take a break and place his head against the dented metal. It was difficult to take down something of this size without anything more than the simplistic way of fighting he knew. Judging by its size, he knew his ki blasts wouldn’t do much. The brown-haired android growled in frustration and gave one last punch with a higher amount of force behind it. Sighing as he noticed the building was still standing, the young man was ready to break his way into the blimp. Closing his eyes to focus his energy and hatred, he let the anger and disappointment and any other negative emotions he could muster pour into his clenched fist. He opened his eyes with an angry growl and punched straight between his feet. The blimp gave way much more either the pillar or the robot, and that gave the blue-eyed man a little more confidence and hope. Punching repeatedly into the rigid airship, Slade growled and grunted with each punch until he felt a tingling numbness up and down his arms. Seeing a decently sized hole in the hull, an idea formed in the android’s mind. A smirk played on his lips as he placed the palm of his hand at the mouth of the hole he created. Focusing the ki into his hands, the young man calmly exhaled as he poured the energy in a series of blasts. It was a long shot, but he hoped that the high concentration would end up tearing a large enough hole in the ship that it would send it crashing to the ground. He was nothing if not hopeful when it came to borderline insane plans, but the young man knew he had to make sure that he poured enough energy into it so that he wouldn’t end up in the blast radius once it exploded. However, if it ended up going down and crashing, he would have to find a way to keep it from crashing into a high-population area. The sound of thunder lessened and the hail had all but stopped. A small smile crept across his lips as he flew off the blimp and smirked as he saw the ship slowly descend in the direction of the nearby forest. It was almost sad how easy he had made this entire situation. Descending back to the Capsule Corporation headquarters, the android couldn’t help but chuckle at the fact it had taken so many people so much effort. The reality was that he felt he was above many of the people he interacted with on a day-to-day basis. There were certainly those that were on his level if not above it, but he had yet to come across any of them yet. So far, it was a lonely existence and somewhat sad that he was currently the strongest person he knew about personally. If time would give him the chance, he would certainly see about finding someone that could match his power if not come close at the very least. Stretching his arms as he landed in front of the scientists, Slade couldn’t help but smirk as he saw the surprised expressions on their faces. The fact that they never had a chance to shut down the ship until he had come along was almost a sad fact. It was almost idiotic that some of the brightest minds on the planet couldn’t figure out that a few well-placed high-caliber rounds would take down the ship. On the other hand, it did give him a chance to test out his power against an opponent that wasn’t under high gravity. Collecting the payment for his services, the brown-haired man shook their hands as they remained dumbstruck by what they had witnessed. The simple fact that it took one man, albeit an android, to take down a machine that could manipulate the weather was simply mind-boggling. The android chuckled as he rolled his eyes and casually flew off in a random direction. He wasn’t sure where he was headed or why, but the blue-eyed man was glad to have finally been able to take care of a threat that was also putting a damper on his time on the islands. On any other day, he would have let the machine continue its trip across the sky and cause chaos where it went. However, he had been enjoying the sun until he had been pelted almost mercilessly by hail. There wasn’t a lot of pain accompanied with the hail at the time, but the annoyance was enough to make the alien want to find out what was going on. Shrugging as he let the wind whip through his hair, the android was glad to finally have a nice day to relax after testing his limits. A chuckle escaped his lips as he closed his eyes and headed for his usual hillside. If today was any hint as to what his future would hold, Slade was more than happy for it to be that way. WC: 1811 |
