The village had heard of the orange haired man in passing from travelers that had spoken of his adventures. They couldn't be mistaken once they set their eyes on his orange locks of beauty. However, now he stood before them and they were unsure of how to approach him about their situation. The town elder and Gray sat across from each other for several moments after dinner, no words had been spoken at the moment but Gray could feel there was some sort of intensity in the atmosphere he couldn't put his fingers on. "Excuse me..." he started, his right hand pressed against his mouth as he let out a few soft coughs to clear his throat. This was probably the best time for him to request assistance. "What is it?" Gray asked openly, letting the elder feel as if any request he may have was not above and beyond. "There have been murders..." he said with hesitation, the words rolling off his tongue with resistance as the ideal seemed to upset him. Gray could feel the frustration in his tone of voice, it carried great weight as the village elder. "Children, all of them from our village. The local police have their hands full, the city police refuse to help and believe that the issue is below their responsibilities." his fists clinched tightly upon the top of the table as his frustration only continued to grow more. A hand gently set on his closed fist, he followed its path and saw Gray staring at him with a smile. "I would be more than happy to help you find out what is going on here, please just give me a few days and I will find your murderer." Gray finished as he let the elders hand go and rose from the table, his eyes shutting tightly as he focused his energy on the town. He was looking for a particular energy, not one of great power but one of dark energy. Ozi had told him that if he ever needed to find true evil, he could sense it but it would take time. Dark evil usually hid very well amongst a group of people, it was easy to conceal its nature because it needed to survive by masking its intentions around others. He knew that this person was probably someone well liked among the village, someone no one would have expected. 401 Words |

There it was, after several moments of searching there was a dark spark of energy in the distance. It was like looking through the world with the lights off, each soul containing its own spark of light. Each one a bright white light that shifted about its daily routine. Those with stronger lights obtained larger amounts of energy within them. But this red flicker, its pulsating light was uneasy and scattered. Something about it was off, weither it was evil or good it was not right. His eyes opened and met with the village elder that sat on the other side of the table and sipped on his cup of tea. A smile faintly appearing upon Gray's face. "I will take care of this elder sir" he said, his left hand opening as his right fist pressed against it with his head bowing behind it. A sign of respect with those that practiced martial arts. The elder returned the same gesture and Gray made his exit from the hut. As he stepped out he look over his shoulder to what appeared to be a mountainous region that looked down on the village. "Thats where he is..." Gray said in a whisper to spark a conversation with Ozi who he knew was waiting. "Yea, but hes not that strong...you could just blast him from here." Ozi said with a devilish chuckle. "No, that is not how I want to resolve this issue..." he responded quickly, he was worried that their could be innocents that needed help. "You're no fun..." Ozi said, his tone changing to one of a more dissapointed and depressed thought. Gray's body hovered off of the ground before he took flight toward the mountains. He wasn't sure what he was about to come up to, but he knew that they had to have some ability. You could not just take someone without others noticing or being alarmed. As he approached the mountain he paused for a moment, his eyes scanning the terrain but was having issues as the snowfall began to increase. He looked over his shoulder and back down the mountain. He did not realize how high up he was till just now. A flicker of energy came to his senses that made him jerk back, his right arm following through with an overhanded arc as he brought it over his shoulder as if he was throwing a baseball. His hand slamming into the ball of energy that traveled toward him and knocked it toward the base of the mountain. The explosion echoed through the air as pieces of snow shot up from the ground and above Gray. A couple of claps sounded off in the distance, its exact location covered by the blanket of snow that fell from above. Gray tried to focus on the sounds but was unable to as they bounced off of many rocks. "He must be actually on the mountain..." he thought to himself. He started to hover a little closer but quickly turned around as another spark of energy caught his attention. Forcing him to turn quickly and slapping away another ball of energy that traveled wildly through the air and crashed into the side of the mountain doing minimal damage. "Your quick!" the voice echoed again from all over followed by a small annoying chuckle. Whoever this was, was enjoying the game of hide and seek with Gray. However Gray did not share the same enjoyment. "As much as I enjoy this...I would love to see the guy-" he stopped again as the snow stopped falling all together, almost as if on cue. "Ho-Ho" an elder man said as he stood upon a rocky cliff looking down upon Gray. "Are you looking for a poor old man such as myself?" the old man laughed a little as he slapped his staff against the ground twice. Gray felt another uneasy energy spike, this time it was to late. He felt a large ball of energy slam into his back and pushed him toward the mountain. "I can't...I can't stop it..." he grunted as his body slammed into the cliff side, the rocks piling on top of his body as it rested in a crater that the ball of energy blasted. "Ho -HO! I guess your not as tough as you thought you were!" the voice bellowed out as his laughs bounced off of mountain rocks. He turned away from the crater where Gray was buried and began to walk down the hidden path. A loud explosion stopped him in his tracks as he ran back to look down. To his surprise an unscathed Gray stood at the center of the crater, his orange aura sparking red bolts of energy. His face covered with what looked like a mask but was not risen like one. "Interesting..." the old man said to himself as he looked down at Gray. 816 Words | 1217 Twords |

His demonic energy sparked from his body like static electricity between a finger and a metal object. He was annoyed at this point, he wasn't sure what exactly it was...but it pushed him to the edge. He was never so easily pushed to the next level, but his transformation was nearly instant at this point. "You're pissing me off..." he said aloud, his head tilting as he looked up toward the old man that smiled back. "But we are just getting started!" he chuckled as his right hand rose, his fingers snapping and generating out of thin air one of the missing villagers. "What is this?!" Gray question with his fists clenching tightly "A little game!" the old man called out as he opened his hand, his palm facing the young woman who laid upon the ground unconsciously. "I am not big on games..." Gray went on, a burst of energy shot out from his body as it pushed loose dirt and gravel away. "You are about to die....give the villager up now..." he voice took an angry tone as he looked at the older man with disgust. The oldman stared back at Gray, his eyes scanning his body trying to get a read on the type of person he was. "I see you have no current fam-" he stared to pry into Gray's past to get under his skin but stopped as Gray had closed the distance between the two of them and stood several feet away. The two of them were now just several feet apart, looking each other in the eyes, the older man feeling uneasy as he could sense the ill intent that was being held back within him. His face was something different, it appeared as if his skin had peeled away and a skull was revealed. "That is quite a mask you have there..." he stated nervously. "That is quite a bluff your calling..." Gray answered back, his head tilting toward the hostage as he answered back. "Let her go...never take another...and you will live." Gray finished as his wrist rose into the air, his palm opening up several inches from the older man's face. The old man could tell at this point that there was no talking his way out of this situation. "What do you--" he was cut off again as a ball of energy began to form in Gray's palm. Was this it? Was this the defining moment of his life where it would all come to an end. He smiled nervously as he snapped his finger again and made the body vanish from site. Gray's eyes widened for a moment as the girl vanished. The ball of energy growing twice in size as he held it several inches from the old man's face. "OK OK!" He shouted excessively. "I returned the girl to her home! She's gone! Just leave me--" he began to beg for his life and mercy before being cut off by a Gray's hand that grasped tightly around his throat as the ball of energy still continued to charge. He watched helplessly as Gray's eyes closed tightly. He began to sense for energy signatures nearby, looking for someone with a weak signal in the village area that he had not sensed before. It didn't take him long to find the feinted energy signature, someone who as definitely weak and struggling for some reason. His eyes opened moments later and his grip around the older man's neck loosened. He looked back at him and began to float away slowly. "Here is the deal...if you do anything like this again..you will die." Gray stated and slowly put distance between himself and the old man, his body dropping his awakening transformation. "This wont be the last time..." the old man said under his voice as he watched Gray float away. 640 Words | 1857 Total |
