Things had been crazy. Since her time in the City of the Lost nothing had calmed down even as Vegeta remained distant. He just wasn’t there since then. He had his battle with Whis, and there’d been brief conversations, but the Saiyan Prince was in an absent lull of existence. Even when Bulla appeared, he remained locked away, untouchable. She had her daughter. She had the ship’s crew and Malah. She even had a stray fox. Why was she lonely? A new day rose however, and she was feeling a bit guilty. Daji had come to Vegeta-sei in search of a master and she had promised him one. She could not send him to King Vegeta, not after everything he had done, and her Vegeta was well… An argument was brewing, she could tell. She had realized his time had also been spent with his brother, and she could not quiet a boiling rage. First Vegeta had almost killed her, then he had gone about losing again, and again to a point past disappointment, and now he kept company with the same type of man as the one who caused him the most heart ache. She found herself sighing. At the least, the boy had taken the time to properly heal up since he would not go into a rejuvenation tank, had been well fed, and hopefully kept in good company. Despite his teenaged form he acted very much like a child, cozying up to her without a care. He was warm and kind and a pleasant distraction, but she could not keep him like a pet. ”Welp,” she lets out as she returned to the makeshift room. ”It looks like there is no master here after all.” He tone was apologetic but mostly annoyed at something past Daji’s understanding. Her gaze remained soft however. ”You’d probably be better off heading to the next planet.” 315 |

(Combat Rune, Partner Training) Bulma's arrival caused the fox in question to perk up his head, eyes, and ears towards her as she returned to the makeshift room. It smelled of something soapy, possibly a kind of detergent, as the young Kitsune's clothes were hanging up on strings. They were nearly dry, the shinobi making it a point to clean up what clothing he had with him. He was naked at this point in time, a towel on his lap as he sat on the floor of the room, a string and needle in one hand while he fiddled with his now-dry but quite mangled uniform shirt. He was trying to fix up his uniform and clothing as much as he could, since he wasn't skilled like his mate, Hayami, at making new ones. If Bulma took the time to look at the stitching, it was very uneven and almost erratic, but judging by the thoroughness of it, the stitching would hold despite its lack of coherency. "Oh..." he said, slightly disappointed in her statement. Of course, he had been looking forward to training with a warrior here on Vegeta-sei, the planet, not the King or the Prince or the--this was still really confusing!--and he couldn't help but show his disappointment as his ears drooped a little. He was not shy about his state of dress--she had tried to get him into the rejuvenation tank once before, and he absolutely refused to have any part of those claustrophobic machines. He could heal himself on his own, and while it took longer, he at least didn't have that god-awful mask on his face. However, there was something else in her tone that made him squint a little in thought, pausing in his haphazard stitching for a moment before he looked up towards her, his tail swaying behind him in curiosity. "Is... is something wrong?" He asked her. She had been very guarded during their time together, but he was slowly picking up on the most subtle of differences in her tone, her voice, her expression, her stance... it had been difficult to read her at first, but after spending a few days with her, he thought he was at least able to make a guess. "Vegeta--uhm, the prince, right?--he's not able to train me? Well, I... Well, it doesn't matter too much," he said, managing a smile as he looked back up to her again with a nod before resuming his needle-work. "I don't think this trip was a waste--I got to meet you, and you're very nice," He said, sincerety in his voice and a pleasant mood despite the bad news. WC: 442 |

Bulma felt she must be getting older, that or she had just gotten used to the lack of dress from the Saiyans on board. Either way, Daji’s small covering was more than she expected to get from anyone being nude in this place, and him specifically being out of dress actually made some sense considering the clothes line. She saw him trying to sew and she couldn’t help but smile a little, before starting her way over to him. She sat next to him, her legs crossing with ease and held her hand out for the stitching. If he gave it to her, she would set it in her lap before taking his hand and positioning it to hold it for her. The rest she did quickly with her mouth, before her hand moved all the faster. While most learned to move at super speeds in a punch or kick, Bulma had specialized in the movements of her hands. It was why she was good at pinpoint attacks, but still, her hands, or hand, moving in quick succession to suture something back together, that was what she knew how to do in her sleep. She had been quite speedy with it to begin with, fixing tears and hems, but in the war she had needed to sew people back together much faster than this. She moved his hand again as she found the next bit of damage. He asked her if something was wrong, and she didn’t look up from the cloth, whether he had given it to her not. He continued, attempting to pull at it and console her, but this time her face did not change at the mention of Vegeta, shifting into a smile as he finished. ”I’m sure you’ve met much nicer people,” she says in an almost mischievous tone. She had beaten him up to start with after all. ”Do you have your next destination charted?” she asks instead. She didn’t think giving him any further apology would put him at ease, so she didn’t offer it, focusing on better things. 346/661 |

Daji felt his smile grow a little more when Bulma sat down beside him, but it faded into a little bit of confusion for a moment as his new friend held out her hand--he still had a hard time believing she only had one arm--before he finally got the point and handed it to her, holding on to the fabric as she indicated so she could help him. He made sure to pay close attention to how she moved the needle and her fingers, his head almost moving with her hand each time she moved it, as if his eyes had to be a certain distance away at all times in order to absorb what she was showing him. His hair was probably in the way a couple of times as she worked, but her speed and dexterity were surprising... "Next... oh. Uhm..." he said, a bit of blush filling his cheeks at the embarrassment of not having his next destination planned out. He hadn't exactly liked being on this planet, but at the same time, he was finding himself hesitant to leave Bulma's side. Sure, there was her daughter for her to think about and spend time with, but he still felt that reluctance to actually leave. "Well, I... I was thinking about heading home for a little while before resuming my journey. The distance... it's so far, and yet I can still feel my mate's emotions even from here. She misses me, and I miss her, so... so I think I will spend some time with her before I go to another planet. "As for nicer people... well, I've only known a couple of people that went so far to help me when I was in trouble. Hayami, my mate, and Yan, my warden. So you're the third person to do so, out of many people I've met so far... so even if you might not be the nicest, you're still in the top three!" he said, managing a big smile at her for a moment before something touched on his mind for a moment. "That--that green-skinned woman. Where is she from? She was so strong, but I've never seen people like her before. Maybe they have a martial arts master I can learn from?" he asked, tilting his head curiously to the side before he looked back down at her deft handiwork. WC: 398 / 840 |

Bulma’s face remained still when he spoke of home. She should have smiled, but the emotion twisted up in her gut. Bulla was here. Vegeta was here. This was a home, but it still lacked Trunks. It lacked Boxer and her parents. It lacked the things she had left behind, and while it wasn’t regret that gnawed at her, there was definitely something there to cause her trouble. She still wasn’t sure she understood the whole shared empathy telepathy thing. It seemed a bit disturbing to her, though she found herself wondering if Chishan and Agatha hadn’t shared something similar. It gave her a small shudder, as if from cold, but her hands kept still and she brushed it off as nothing more than that. ”There’s nothing wrong with home,” she says instead, managing that smile in earnest. Such a bright and kind boy must have come from a warm home. While she had first thought poorly of his “warden” the way he explained him and his mate...well she could understand wanting to return there. Just thinking of the scientific studies she could initiate on a sentient planet kept a bright smile on her face, though she had to brush off those aspirations as well. Her gaze only lifted as Daji mentioned Aria, and her smile became even brighter with some pride. ”Namek!” she answers happily, though her brows furrowed after and she shifted her gaze away in thought. ”Well...Aria is kind of a mutant...Namekian...former android...Well, she’s one of a kind. But her basic genetic makeup and her people are Namekian,” she explains, looking back to him. ”The Namekians are a proud warrior race, and yet, they strive in peace. They have a very wise elder there called Guru. I’m sure he would teach you lots.” The way she spoke seemed of experience, and it was much more positive than anything she had said about Vegeta-sei. 321/982 |

There was nothing wrong with home. That was what Bulma said, almost as if there was more to her statement she had wanted to say, but... well, Daji wasn't in the practice of prying more than he should be, especially after the incident on Grace. But the sentiment was real, and the message was rather clear--maybe going back home would help him focus his mind on all that he had learned and bring it all together, rather than trying to focus so much on what each individual had to teach. Surely, there was a balance between them all that could be achieved, and sure enough, the Kitsune found himself nodding in agreement to her suggestion. But when her expression changed to a far more positive one concerning the planet he was asking about, some place called 'Nah-mech' or something like that, it was clear she had fond memories of it, even if her gaze shifted away immediately after. The woman he had described was Aria--her name anyway, and Daji nodded in remembering it from when the woman had gruffly introduced herself--and while the explanation Bulma gave was confusing, he managed to get the point--Namek was her home. "They sound so noble..." he remarked, a starry-eyed youth looking to Bulma for as much about this wonderful place as possible, his curiosity at an obvious maximum. "Guru--I'll make sure to ask for him when I go there after visiting with Hayami. It sounds a lot like the Panther Clan... content with living their lives, but ready to defend themselves. There's... there's a lot there to admire already, I guess," he said, and while Bulma had only said a little bit about the Namekians, Daji seemed convinced it would be an ideal place to go to train himself further. "Have you ever been there? What's the planet like?" Daji was getting excited again, his questions coming out swiftly and, as Bulma was likely aware at this point, she would have to halt him before he overloaded her with a million-and-one questions, each one basically superceding the last as the boy's hyper-active imagination would soon take over. Bulma grinned as Daji’s expression took on a childlike wonder. He was immediately drawn into her every word and once again she was reminded of talking to Trunks when he was much younger. She let him get his thoughts out before fixing his hand again to finish up the last bit of stitchery. ”Yes,” she says easily. ”I went to Namek with a big head thinking I could save the world~” she explains with a somewhat nostalgic smile. ”As often happens, such a task was nothing like I imagined.” She paused there leaning forward to tie a knot with her teeth and carefully pull it through to stick against the fabric. ”Namek is very green. Almost a reverse earth. The grass is blue, and the sky is green~” she explains. ”The planet orbits three suns, and the Namekians get most of their nutrients from them. They only need the sun and water to survive, although they have some strange beverages to make their diets more interesting. There’s not a lot of farming though so it’s wise to bring a good supply of food. There are a number of very large villages that are almost cities, but the architecture is very round in comparison to Earth. The Namekians themselves are...kind. They have a long withstanding history and culture, some of which was shared with Earth.” She looked back to him before her eyes closed in a smile. ”Kami, the Earth Guardian, is Namekian~” Once again, she spoke with familiarity, as if she knew the Guardian of Earth quite well, making one wonder of her importance on Earth again. 268/1250 |

Saving the world... what was she there to save it from? He was so interested in that fact that when she changed the subject towards the planet himself, he found himself wanting to know more, but that too was interrupted when she moved his hand to help her with the stitching of his clothing. She would quickly find his chin on her shoulder, his ears and eyes pointed straight at her so he could hear her better--for some reason--a completely captivated audience for her story, apparently. But the planet itself... it sounded so strange and foreign, yet he couldn't help but imagine it in his mind's eye all the same, and while the distance between himself and Hayami was quite great, she managed to lend him a few images of it as well--mostly to correct Daji's mental image--but the boy couldn't help himself as he continued to listen in on his elder's description. So he would need his own food... which wouldn't be too much of a problem, so long as he could keep his runes charged with energy, but round buildings, long history and culture... they did sound a lot like the Panther Clan... And then when she revealed that Kami was a Namekian, Daji recoiled with shock and surprise. "R--really!? I thought... I thought he was just a really powerful, green-skinned person, like... I dunno what! But... but does that mean he went to Earth from Namek to be Earth's guardian? That's... wow..." was all he could say in response to that surprise. His encounter with the Guardian of Earth had been... really tense and strict, and it was almost harrowing for the young Kitsune at the time. But then he finally got back to remembering something and spoke up again. "W--Why were you trying to save Nah-mech? Was it in danger?" He asked, once again putting his chin on her shoulder and stared so intently at her, as if he was a child just eager--so very eager--to hear the rest of the story! WC: 338 / 1534 |

Bulma felt Daji's chin on her shoulder, bringing his face very close to hers if she turned her head. It was very much like a puppy and if she had her arm she probably would have found herself stroking his head. As it was she continued explaining, and when she did turn her head to him, he was pulling back at the new information. He had apparently meant the Guardian of Earth in his travels and Bulma could not help but giggle as Daji's impression of Kami. It was a very Earthen perspective. Yes, he was green but he also had softer padding over his limbs, antennae on his head, large elfish ears, and limbs that could stretch and regenerate. (It didn't even occur to her that the last thing wouldn't be easily know to someone else.) Kami was different from a human, but Earth took in such people without a care. There were talking pigs and cat, wise dragons, shape shifters, demons, and other beastly beings. None of that stopped them from being an Earthling. It was one of the things she loved about Earth, and something that could not easily be said about other planets. "Kami had his own reasons for leaving Namek," she says knowingly. "But he has taken good care of us." Kami title or not, he was still a Namekian with a mortal soul. It took someone with pure motivations to be Guardian, but that did not mean the path to pure motivations could filled with moral shadows. The man he was now was a fine Guardian, and that was what mattered, at least in Bulma's opinion. She blinked when he spoke on her previous words, the weight of his chin returning. She found herself smiling as she had when she told Bulla the earliest parts of her life. "Namek," she corrects, "and I guess you could say that." She paused there, thinking over her journey to Namek, how it started, how it ended. She looked only thoughtful in doing so. There was no misty eyed nostalgia but there also wasn't any pain. It had been the beginning and the end, and maybe they never should have went, but they had, it happened, and the experience was hers. "After the war, Namek was placed under the rule of the PTO. When reports came in that villages were being slaughtered and chaos was sinking into the planet, not without prejudice I blamed them, the PTO. They have a really bad rep, and the Saiyan Empire hates them too, so my impression and opinion was quite skewed. Still, it wasn't completely far off... "At the time I had met a man who convinced me we could change the galaxy. We could stop children from dying, we could hold a weight no one else wanted to hold...They were all empty words in the end, but at the time I wanted desperately for it to true--Oh!" She cut herself off, looking back to him with a sudden realization. Daji had spoken about Chishan, his uncle. He knew the man in question and the knowledge of that caught her off guard. "That man..." After the initial shock she turned hesitant. She had just spoken somewhat poorly of the Saiyan who Daji seemed to think highly of. Well, Chishan would expect no less from her. "It was Chishan," she says, watching his reaction but even then her expression was soft and neutral. She said his words were empty but she did not speak his name woth distaste. She also didn't speak it the way one would have of a comrade who they fought side by side with. "The Saiyan Inferno~ The good hearted Saiyan, Overlord Chishan." She did say the titles with a bit more mock and a sneaky smile. 1880 |

She clarified his use of the word he tried to mimic earlier, as well as Kami in a general sense--and as far as Daji could see, Kami probably was a pretty good guardian, all things considered... but he had only met the guardian once, and while he had been very suspicious of the Kitsune, the interaction was at least civil... but moving on to her adventures on Namek, his ears were tall and his eyes wide as she told the story--Namek was under control of the PTO, Planet Trade Organization. He had learned a little bit about the organization from Hayami and a few other places... mostly just phrases and rumors, really. He had not had a chance to really meet anyone from that place or organization, but when she spoke about Namek... Apparently, things were getting bad for the people there, and Bulma had assumed it was because of the PTO. Daji had heard of their reputation, even in passing, and they seemed... rather harsh people and culture, being comprised of a lot of different races. The Saiyan Empire and really everyone Daji had heard talk about the PTO seemed to hate them a lot. The Kitsune felt particularly conflicted about that--how was he supposed to look at things from another's perspective, to understand their position and problems, when they did so many bad things...? He didn't have time to really think about it much further as the storyteller continued with her tale, regaling her captivated audience. She spoke of a man that said they could change the galaxy for the better, and Daji felt like that would be a really good thing to do, right? But... why were such ideals and positive things delivered with empty words, wanting those ideals and goals to be true... and when she said that man was Uncle Chishan, Daji couldn't help but reel back just a little and gasp, as if surprised and confused as well. He was probably mimicing a lot of the emotions she did when it dawned on her as well. The young Ninja never thought of Chishan as someone with a lot of empty words, just someone who got really busy all the time, but then... well, it was hard to say, but where was he now? Maybe that was what she meant--a lot of lofty goals, but he was never around to lead and make sure they came to light... He had seen that look of... irritation, disgust maybe, on Yan's face when Chishan was mentioned, yet Bulma smiled at the mention of Uncle Chishan and his various titles. She was being playful and her audience couldn't help but smile back--all of Daji's memories of the man were positive ones, but maybe that was the part of Chishan that Yan didn't like--too many promises not fulfilled? Too high a goal that could never be reached? Daji tried to hang on to what was being said and his own experiences... he knew Chishan wasn't a bad person, but at the same time... "But... but you still went to Namek, right?" he asked, lengthening his pronunciation of the planet so he could see if he was saying it right. "I know... I know Yan doesn't like Chishan, so maybe that's why, but... he never seemed so bad to me..." he said, looking thoughtful with a frown for a moment before his chin returned to her shoulder, his ninja garb all but forgotten. "Did you save them, though? Did you save the people and planet of Namek?" He asked with devoted attention and curious inquisition. 2k+ |

Bulma nodded, ready to tell the tale when Daji continued about his warden disliking Chishan. Her head tilted in distinct curiosity as her brows furrowed in an almost disbelief. She had yet to meet anyone who disliked Chishan and yet...Daji was more spot on than he realized about Yan, and Bulma too could understand disliking him for that. When you put all your hopes into something, into someone, and they turn their back on it and you...That was something she knew Chishan was capable of. He had large difficulties seeing the smaller picture, the individuals his actions effected. He didn't realize what he could mean to someone, and at the end of the day he didn't quite care either. His life was his own, and whatever he felt he needed to do, whatever he was sure of, that was how he led it. Everyone else be damned. Bulma didn't dislike Chishan for it. It was something she wished she had known before that power suit but at the same time doubted she would have listened to anyone telling her that. She didn't blame him or hold any ill will, but the idea of someone else calling him out on this appealed to her. "I might like your warden after all," she says but her tone was still filled with doubt. He asked again about Namek and her thoughts were shaken up again before she smiled. "We didn't!" she says happily. It probably seemed a weird thing to be happy about but that wasn't the end of the story. "The PTO did." 2k+ |
