When Bulma discussed how she might like the Kitsune's warden after all--though she had expressed a dismay and irritation with some of the red-head's methods--Daji couldn't help but smile in response, his ears twitching happily for a moment until she continued with her story, though it was a little short in the description--Bulma and those she had travelled with hadn't save planet Namek from its suffering, leaving the boy rather flabberghasted for a moment in confusion in contrast to Bulma's smile and cheer. Wait... if they didn't save Namek from what was making it suffer, then... they were still...

But then her last statement was even more surprising still, taking Daji aback as he recoiled from her statement, leaving the Kitsune more than just a little confused, and it showed on his face in spades. He tilted his head to the side while his tail swayed oddly, his features betraying his attempts at trying to figure out what she meant. "W--wait, what? I thought you said the PTO had a bad reputation... why would they cause the suffering of the people on Namek and then be the ones to fix..." he stopped himself mid-way through his own question, his eyes falling down to the ground as his free hand--his other one was still helping her with the ninja garments, albeit absent-mindedly--held his chin in thought.

"That would mean... that someone inside the group was in the wrong, so the group tried to fix it? That... that does seem a little more reaslistic...." he admitted. He always tried to clean up his own mistakes when they happened, and sure enough, maybe that was what the PTO were trying to do in this situation? But then... where did Bulma fit into all of this? "Did you help them fix things on the planet? Your arm... you said it was from a previous encounter with someone. Even now, it smells funny, but... is that where you lost your arm? On Namek?" he asked, trying to be as gentle about the topic as possible.

Daji was so easily affected by her. Simple words brought him happiness and simpler words brought him shock. He curled up to her only to pull away again, just to curl back up to her. He started in his questioning and she cut in immediately when he paused.

”I also said I was being prejudiced as you are being now,” she says with a sharp gaze though she was still smiling. ”Just because someone has a bad reputation, doesn’t mean it’s built on facts. The PTO is a very large ever expanding organization. It’s true we can frown upon Frost who lets the bad apples sit, but that does not mean all the Praetors are out for blood. I’m a business woman myself. I can understand their moves quite clearly.”

She let that sit, and as he continued, she shook her head dismissing his words. She never said it was someone in the group, and it wasn’t more realistic at all! Just because that’s what happened didn’t mean it should be so quickly jumped to.

She blinked though as he mentioned her arm. Her gaze dropped down to it and she frowned slightly. She still wasn’t used to people even knowing about it and now that it was out in the open it seemed questions were unavoidable.

”I lost it before that,” she answers thoughtfully. ”But the ‘smell’ you’re getting...that’s probably from my time on Namek.”

She had finished his garb and she offered it back to him, happy to have her one hand back. ”On Namek I came across a fascinating enemy. Wriggle Nytebug, the last Mismian, as far as anyone knows. Mismians have the special ability to affect the world through sound. A song can be as damaging as a ki attack. It can stun you, it can slow you, it can stop your ability to heal properly.” She stopped there, smiling again. ”It was a beautiful song.”

When she made her sharper remark, he still kept cuddling up to her, but his ears flattened a little bit, as if the remark struck him some pain in one way or another. He knew better than that--he should be more open minded, of course, but when she resumed her story, his ears perked up again as she likely felt his body a bit closer to hers now as he gave her his rapt attention.

When she compared the organization to a business, and being someone who owned a business back on Earth as well, she seemed to understand their motivations and problems as well, provoking the fox to nod a little bit in understanding. So it seemed like she could relate to them, and even though he didn't understand it all, if she could relate to it, that meant he could as well to a lesser degree--almost by proxy. She seemed to dismiss his other claims, however, but when she looked down at her missing arm, he felt rather sorry for bringing it up again... but if that was what Namek smelled like... well, it would really be strange...

So she lost it before that. But to whom? He didn't understand it quite yet, as she seemed--there it was, someone Bulma had met--a Mismian, the last of her kind? He couldn't imagine how lonely that would be. He at least had another Kitsune whom he loved and cherished, but to be alone like that... he couldn't really imagine that kind of isolation, but at the same time, but to have the power to just sing a song, even one as beautiful as Bulma implied with her smile, that could stop someone from healing properly...

That would explain why he had such trouble trying to heal it, trying to help her grow a new one. She still had her other arm 'on ice' as she called it, but at the same time, it seemed like such a strange power to have, especially one that was so... debillitating...

"Wriggle... I can't imagine being alone like that, without others like herself. But to do something like that with just singing... I don't know what to think of that... but... I guess it does explain why I can't... why I can't heal it, I think. Its so... foreign, I've never seen anything like it--or, I guess heard--but... maybe I can find a way to reverse it sometime. Maybe you'll have a new arm before that, but... but if she is still around, I can't help but feel like something to counter-act the effects might help.

"But... but does her singing always result in such pain? Wouldn't that make it harder for her to have friends?"
he asked with a tilt of his head, inquisitive eyes looking up at his adopted guide in this part of the galaxy.

Bulma nodded absently as he thought of Wriggle’s pain. She had spent a lot of time trying to understand the Mismian who had changed her life so drastically from only one encounter. It had been such a short encounter. She had no time to get an understanding of the woman, and every time she tried to from what little she knew she knew she was making up things more than actually learning about her. The woman that has crushed Bulma’s skull with her foot did not seem to be the lonely type. The control she used over her underlings did not suggest she wanted friends. They were connected now however, and Bulma wanted to find something deeper of her.

So far she had been failing.

Her nose scrunched after a moment however, as she realized where Daji was making a mistake.

”She’s not the reason I can’t, uh, grow an arm back,” Bulma says scratching her cheek. ”When I lost it...Well, it was a long time before I could get to real medical help. So long in fact, I had the time to make a synthetic arm to replace it. When I finally did get to medical help, the wound had healed. When I went in a rejuvenation tank, it didn’t recognize the fact that I had an arm before. The cells died and remade themselves already,” she explains, looking to him with a frown not sure that made complete sense.

”There’s other more advanced technology I could use to grow it back now, but I’ve chosen not to,” she continues, keeping her gaze to his. ”Vegeta is training me to be strong at my weakest, which means I wouldn’t have my arm. When I do...Well, I’m really proud of my cybernetic technology. It’s really awesome, I assure you!”

When she explained why she can't grow the arm back, it was for a different reason than Daji had suspected this entire time, his widening in surprise. So all this time, she had not been able to grow it back because the arm--or rather, what was left of it--had grown what it could and just stopped. The body had accepted the lack of an arm as normal by the time she tried to fix it--resulting in Bulma having a synthetic arm to replace it. Daji couldn't imagine having... something else be there in place of his regular arm, and he managed to resist the urge to look down at his own.

More advanced technology... it was hard to imagine what could be accomplished with bits of wire and metal, but then again, he was able to produce food and water from regular magic and ki, so maybe it wasn't all that hard to imagine. But--she then described Vegeta--wait, the planet, the prince, or the king?--training her to become strong at her weakest, where she didn't have even a part of herself to help her fight, and he was suddenly reminded of the bracelet. Yan had turned it back on before the Kitsune had started this journey--and in a way, he was doing the same thing as Bulma was, becoming stronger while not in control or possession of his full powers. In all honesty... Daji had seen what he could do with his full power, and he was scared of it. Well... he was less scared of it now, truth be told...

He had learned so much from Yaidrat, Luther, Adel, King Kai... and now Bulma, though it wasn't about being physically strong so much as being better mentally. He felt so much more in control of himself, more or less, than he ever did before on Earth... maybe that was the lesson to learn here. Control...

"I can't wait to see it!" he managed to say, excitement filling his voice as his eyes widened with wonder as to what her new arm would look like. "You'll have to show me all those wonderful things you can make with your hands--hand--hands when you finally leave this place. You're... you're such a wonderful person, Bulma..." he said before snuggling up to her a little closer, his cheek rubbing up against her affectionately for a moment before his chin resumed its place on her shoulder.

"So Namek is okay now, then? I'll probably have to be careful there... right? Or are the people there--Namek people and PTO people--all pretty friendly? I'd like to meet them all when I visit."

Bulma grinned happily as his enthusiasm grew over something she was proud of. She may have already started thinking of devious plots to borrow her arm to show off--it wasn’t for training!- but thought better of it. When the boy continued though he smile remained though she laughed a little when he called her a wonderful person.

”I’ll beat you to it,” she says with ease. ”If you ever go back to Earth, or even in your galactic travels...If you see something branded ‘Capsule Corporation’ than I probably had a hand in it,” she explains happily, making a pun after his awkwardness over the word earlier. ”It started as my father’s company but these days...well these days my android son is running things, but most of the current projects should have had my oversight.”

She wasn’t sure when she was going to be leaving Vegeta-sei, or when she would be done with Vegeta the prince. She still didn’t see an end in sight. One on hand she wanted to bring Bulla home, to her family, to those that loved her for so long even without knowing her, on the other hand she could not escape a sick feeling that returning would not be a relief but another burden. She only had one hand so she had to chose, and she could feel herself leaning to the latter.

Once Daji left here, they might never see each other again. It was strange to think. She knew it was a small universe, an opprotunities to meet those of the past tended to arise but...Well, she had seen Aria, but what of Walid, Walina, Chishan, or Agatha? They seemed like ghosts now. She couldn’t shake the feeling that if she let him out of her sight, he’d be gone to. It didn’t make her want to grab hold of him, but it sat in her stomach like a small stone, weighing her down.

”Namek is good last I checked,” she offers with ease, leaning back. ”The Namekians are very friendly, and while some of the PTO can seem brutish, there are some good people there as well,” she says, seeming to be thinking of a specific person as she said it. Where was Aneka now? Another ghost.

"I--I hadn't planned on going back... to Earth..." he said, a bit of hesitation filling his voice as he looked away from her for a brief moment. It was true, he hadn't even considered going back--there were a lot of things that still weighed him down about going there, and in all seriousness, he probably didn't have any right to, not after what he had done to Kranzer and everyone around them during that...

He pushed the thought aside, deciding to focus on the things Bulma had probably accomplished. Capsule Corporation... she had seen people use technology with that name before, some on Earth, a few on Grace weirdly enough, and on a few other places. The fact that she had a hand--heh--in a lot of the things that were built by Capsule Corporation made him even had more wonderment and enthusiasm for her than ever before. The things she could dream up and make... it really surprised him and made him even more excited for what she might make next...

Well, provided she ever left the planet of Vegeta--not the prince or king--and while she reassured him that Namek and most of the PTO can be good people to speak to, Daji was more focused now on Bulma than on the next stop on his journey. Well, after going back to Hayami for a little bit. He had wanted to visit with his mate for a little while before going to another planet, if only to tend to things at home and be with her for a little while. They were missing each other rather badly and he didn't want to disappoint her...

"I'll keep an eye out, don't you worry," he said, his ears perking up as he nodded to her suggestions and reassurances. "I think I met someone on Kelioux that had something built by Capsule... it was a car, I think? He said it was 'exotic', but it looked like a regular car from Earth to me," he said before giggling a little at the event now that he had a bit of hindsight.

"But... what about you? How long do you plan on staying here?" the Kitsune asked, concern entering his face and tone as he seemed to refocus on Bulma once again, though by this point, one of Daji's articles of clothing fell on his head, dry as a bone by this point, but he checked it over for a moment to make sure it was wearable again before putting it to the side.

Her face fell a little when he said he didn’t have plans to go back to Earth. She had forgotten for a bit there that he had a sour history with the planet, and the idea of simply never going there again...Well, it was very foreign to her. Earth was the galactic melting pot. It was her favorite place in the universe. Daji not going there ever again was...sad.

He tried to go back to the topic of her inventions and she smiled again but it was much less happy than it had been prior. This whole conversation was starting to get to her. The truth of the matter was that she wasn’t sure what she was doing, or where she was going. It was easier when she had Chishan to fall back on. It easier just to depend on Vegeta.

”I’m not sure,” she admits with a small sigh. ”Before getting here, I came to understand how weak I was, but not quite what my weaknesses are,” she explains, looking back to him only to see his clothing on his head. She cracked another smile and shook her head.

”I want to figure that out first, and then I will think of the next step beyond it.”

She really didn't know what to do from here either... well, Daji had an idea, and he was slowly making a plan for where to go next, but he felt a little sadder as well when she admitted she wasn't sure what to do next. He supposed she could train with Vegeta--the Prince, right?--before finally finding out what she wanted to do. She had people she loved back on Earth, a company back home that might need her help, but... there was something about her voice that made even that seem a little unsure.

She came here to understand how weak she was, but then, that was what Daji was doing too--to find out how weak he was, grow stronger, and protect those he cared about, to learn from as many people as he possibly could. And yet, she revealed just how much of a plan he really had--not much of one. He wanted to visit Namek, to train with the people there and learn their point of view, maybe learn more about the Guardian of Earth as well... but other than that, he hadn't really planned much of anything...

No, that wasn't true either. He had Hayami--he wanted to be with her, to provide for her--for them both--with the farm land he had been given, to build a home for them both, for the kits they would be bringing into this world--if Yan didn't seem so totally opposed to the idea. He had ideas, not so much plans. More like dots in a line, and the hardest part was drawing lines between those dots. Maybe that was what Daji needed to do--draw the lines between the dots he wanted to see, to accomplish.

That made him feel a little better, at least.

"Well... if you want, Hayami and I would be more than happy to have you as a guest on Grace. Even if... even if you're not sure what to do, or where to go, we can at least make sure you are comfortable," he said with a smile and a wag of his ears as he nodded. "But whatever you decide... well, I just wanted you to know that you're an amazing person, and I wouldn't come this far without you," he said, and once again, he hugged her tightly for a moment until there was a sizzle and pop from his bag, a glow from the teleportation rune signalling that it had absorbed enough energy from the air in order to be used. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go just yet...

But he knew the person on the other side of that journey was Hayami... and he wasn't sure if he wanted to keep her waiting or not. He wanted to desperately introduce Bulma to his mate, to incorporate the both of them more in his life... but maybe it was time to start moving on...

”I might take you up on that!” Bulma immediately replied to his offer about Grace. ”If I can find it~ A sentient planet that travels through space on its own...That kind of new discovery is a scientist’s dream. I’m sure I could spent weeks there just learning,” she explains happily. It seemed like a much surer path than the one Bulma was walking now. It was easy to follow a quest for knowledge, but she had learned that she could not necessarily keep walking it as she’d like. She was trying to become stronger so she could walk it, so she could protect people, so she could move freely and confidently. She had stared down the faces of many powerful men and they had all found her wanting. She was tired of it. She wanted to place her foot in their faces.

She would start with Tarble.

Daji continued, moving forward and giving her a squeeze that she returned with her one good arm, ruffling his hair as he pulled away again. She followed his gaze to his bag and smiled again.

”Looks like you’re done waiting~” she says, reaching forward and touching his cheek gently with her knuckles. She gave him one final look, her eyes warm and her smile kind before she pulled away completely and standing up.

”Just don’t…” It seemed like she was going to say something serious, her gaze fixating on him in a stern but almost embarrassed fashion. ”Don’t be like your uncle and accidentally use that thing and pop into someone’s shower okay?” She wasn’t sure exactly how the rune worked, but if it did function a bit like Instant Transmission well...Yeah, she had some ill experiences with that.

Once she was sure he took her warning seriously she turned her back to him so he could put on some pants. When he was well enough through she turned with a grin and gave him a proper standing up hug. ”Take care of yourself and try not to get kidnapped again. If someone seems suspicious it’s okay to be suspicious of them! No good person will blame you for being careful. And make sure you learn a lot and treat Hayami well and…”

She stopped herself, pulling away with a larger grin. ”Just be good okay?” she offered with some finality, very much the words of a parent.
