Yesterday, he had asked him to come to Kame House in order to get a more special and intense training and that someone else would be joining them. Of course he was a little curious on the matter, but agreed nonetheless and made himself ready for the following morning. As the sun rose, the demon pulled himself out of bed and headed into the hallway outside his room. His hand lifted to ruffle through his tangerine strands, a sigh passing his lips as he slipped into the bathroom and got ready for the day. After a shower and a change of cloth, he entered the hall once more and headed down the flight of stairs to the living room. Inside, his daughter sat on the sofa, a controller in her hand as she played video games on their television. He couldn't help but to chuckle as he rounded the couch and sat himself down on the armrest. "You're being pretty aggressive there." He mused as her fingers mashed down on the buttons and she leaned to the side with an expression of pure concentration. "I keep dying! There's nooo way they're this good at the game! They're totally cheating." She huffed and stuck her tongue out past her lips and curved it against the corner of her mouth. Yamato merely snorted and stood back up to his feet while tossing his dark jacket on over his shoulders. "I'm heading out, I don't know when I'll be back." He watched as Elena groaned at the 'You lose' screen before falling over in complete defeat. After a moment of melodrama, she sat up and offered her father a smile. "It's cool, I'll text you if I need 'ya." He nodded in response and leaned over to press an affectionate kiss to the side of her head before waltzing his way out the door. The demon's slender frame slid into his vehicle and closed the door behind him, revving the engine and taking off down the road. It was true that Kame House was across the water, but he lived pretty far away from the island itself and didn't want to tired himself out with flight. He arrived at a familiar place, Satan City, he had been here a few times when he paid visits to Mr. Satan. He chuckled quietly at the memory as he parked his car and stepped out. Soon a crimson aura surrounded him as he took off for the sky and headed towards the isolated home. Brown combat boots touched down to the ground, sand kicking up slightly at his entrance as he let his crimson gaze roam around the island. Everything appeared empty for the most part, causing him to think that everyone must have been either inside or on the other side of the house. His feet pressed into the sandy beach as he traversed around in search of Master Roshi and a new face that he was actually eager to meet. Elijah awoke in his hammock he’d hung between two large overhead beams slowly. Swinging his legs over the side he got a reminder of why he’d set up his sleeping arrangement this way, his bare feet getting slick from the condensation that gathered below. As much as he hated the way Earthlings lived in their quaintly decorated apartments crammed as full as possible, living in this miserable warehouse was definitely worse. He grabbed a can of ravioli from a bench against the far wall and poured it into a large bowl. Eli grabbed a spoon and rattled it repeatedly against the tin wall, creating an echoing high pitched sound. “Rise and shine, Ellen, rise and shine. It’s another beautiful day and you still have a lot to tell me.” He slid the bowl into the small makeshift prison cell he’d created for her to stay in until she told him everything she knew of his past. She’d graduated from a miserable bed of straw strewn on the floor of her cage to a hammock of her own for being cooperative over the past few days. She awoke with a groan, “Jesus Christ, Elijah, I’ve told you all I know. You’re still feeding me shitty slop like some Earth pig and keeping me in a cage. Just let me go home.” She was broken compared to the cocky self that had arrived at Earth through the witches summons. Her spirit damp and she was skinnier, her cheekbones more defined. She did have some beauty, but Elijah didn’t care much for romance even if he did realize it. “Say what you will, I know there’s more you’ve yet to tell me. Regardless, I’ll be gone for the day. Training with Roshi.” “Training with a man who calls himself the Turtle Hermit, you’re as pathetic as the humans who live here.” Eli ignored her as he slipped on a coat and stepped out into a soft morning rain shower, ignoring her words. He’d be lying if he didn’t say he was skeptical, but Soul and Barkley both seemed to have had good experiences with him and they were stronger than he. So, today he fought his loner instinct and took to the skies in the direction of the Kame House, in hopes of improving his combat abilities. It didn’t take long to notice Roshi’s pink hut. The skies had cleared on the way, allowing the sun to shine down on its sandy beach. Not much to look at, but certainly a better way to live than packed into those large skyscrapers like sardines. The beach looked relatively empty, except for a single soul with fiery hair, not unlike that he’d seen on Bark. Eli touched down gently behind them and figured it would be best to strike up some kind of conversation before going in. “Hey, uh, I’m Elijah. Are you here to train with this Roshi guy as well?” Eli realized quickly how stupid that question was, why else would they be here, but rather than continue making a fool of himself, he instead followed quietly to allow the man to respond. How long had it been since she first arrived on the small island seeking out training with the Turtle Hermit? The young demoness bit her lower lip as she thought back. The passage of time here was vastly different than what she experienced before her rebirth. Only the passing of the sun has allowed her to discern how time flows in this realm. When she first met the old man she didn’t think much of him. However, he put her through some very rigorous training which wasn’t altogether appreciated. Lyra wasn’t one to like being covered in dirt for instance. It reminded her entirely too much of her previous life. It was an existence she was slowly growing to despise. Communication was another obstacle she was having to work on. She only spoke a few words of the local dialect. This led to some very strange situations where the old hermit made offhanded comments about her only to realize that she didn’t understand a word he said. She picked up a few more words from both the master and his students but it was only enough to get her by in the smallest fraction of situations. This morning she knew that he had something different planned for her. When he tried to explain it she continued to have difficulty in deciphering his words. Eventually he left her alone and she wandered off until it was closer to the time she was meant to arrive. He told her to return after the rise of the sun; what most call the morning. This provided her ample time in finding sustenance to see her through the day. She quickly became aware of how uneasy hear eating habits made the others so she decided to go with her gut instinct and only eat when she was alone. When she finally returned the sun had risen over the horizon. She could just make out two figures on the beach. At first she thought one was Master Roshi but when she drew closer she quickly found that to not be the case. Lyra appeared to be rather young despite the fact that she’d survived for untold centuries as a lowly scavenger in the netherworld. For the time being she slowed her forward momentum down until she gradually came to a complete stope. Lyra hovered forty feet off the ground as her emerald-eyed gaze shifted from one unfamiliar face to another. Once she realized she didn’t know these two people her flight response kicked in. The panic that tore through her caused a surge in her ki that carried it throughout her body. In a sudden burst of speed her body virtually vanished as she maneuvered towards a corner of the house. Lyra hoped that she could conceal her presence before the other two noticed her. The young demoness was rather short. She was clad in a dark form fitted dress that had a certain antiquity air about it. Her hair was the color of unburnt coal. It cascaded over her shoulders as she peered out. This left half of her pale face and one large emerald eye visible as she attempted to observe them.

He had felt his shoulders tense momentarily as his head began to turn towards the figure, who had ended up speaking up before his eyes had met theirs. “Hey, uh, I’m Elijah. Are you here to train with this Roshi guy as well?” An eyebrow lifted at this, mostly curious if this was the mystery student that was training with them. "I'm Yamato... it's nice to meet you. I am here to train with Roshi as well." He offered a tiny smile, though it came off awkward due to his social anxiety. A second scent picked up and raced across the area, kicking sand up around them before disappearing before one's eyes opened after blinking. It was sudden and almost hardly questionable, but it had Yamato on his toes. He was always constantly hunted by people that wanted him dead, so it wasn't out of the question that he had suddenly shifted into a defensive stance. A red aura suddenly burst around him as his crimson gaze darted around the island, hoping to find what had just came to visit them. It was faint from the distance and his somewhat bad eyesight, but he caught a glimpse of a lime green glowing and peering straight at them. Yamato's lips parted open to speak, to question just who they were or what they wanted, but he was interrupted with wooden staff coming down against his head. The demon almost comically dropped to the ground within an instant as Master Roshi stood over him, stroking his white beard with a low laugh. "Calm down now, all of you are my students, it's not time to battle each other just yet." Yamato slowly sat up now, rubbing the lump that had formed on his head as he sat cross-legged on the sand. "Now then, come on out, beautiful. There's no reason to hide." ______________________________________________________ Note: Please feel free to play as Roshi as well. Simply enough, the ginger that Elijah came landing in behind seemed more than pleased to introduce himself. "I'm Yamato... it's nice to meet you. I am here to train with Roshi as well." The name almost made Eli smile as it reminded him of an appropriately red Earth fruit, the tomato. Simple enough to remember, he thought. As they proceeded on their way to the pink hut, he was suddenly caught off guard as this other student, Yamato, suddenly flared up an external aura and seemed to kind of slide into a fighting pose. Elijah was confused and took a few steps back before he saw what Yamato was looking at. There was a small girl watching them, around the corner of the house. Eli would have never noticed her, but Yamato must possess the ability to sense ki, something Elijah was actually hoping Roshi would get around to teaching him eventually. Roshi walked out the door of the house and looked at the scene, before bringing down his gnarled staff down harshly onto Yamato's skull, telling them to calm down because they were all his students. It seemed curious, such a rag tag bunch. Eli was sort of just taking it all in as Roshi called out the the third member of their small training class. "Now then, come on out, beautiful. There's no reason to hide." Elijah couldn't help but smirk at that one, he'd heard of Roshi's inappropriate mannerisms and perverted antics. It did seem odd that he'd be into such young women, but truly he understood little about Earthlings and their desires. Roshi spoke up again, "Now, I know what you're all thinking. That you're here to train with Master Roshi, the greatest marshal artist of all time. And you're right! I am the greatest marshal artist of all time, it's so kind of you to notice! As for training... I actually fell asleep when I was going to prepare and I forgot." It took Eli a moment to process just what Roshi just said before he took a step away, "What the hell, why did I even come here?" "Now don't walk away yet, Elijah, we have work to do!" "You just sai-" "I know what I said you little nitwit, I'm still your master! Now. I know what you really could do for me. I had another student like yourselves not to long ago named Henry and the little shit stole all my magazines!" Roshi's nose let out a trickle of blood as he spoke and his bald head turned bright red while he stamped his feet during his tantrum. "He lives in Satan City, go get them back for me!" Elijah sighed in disgust, "Magazines? Roshi are these perverted magazines?" "Does it matter!? I'll teach you whatever you want you little runt!" Elijah looked to the others he'd forgotten were still around during his bickering and looked for their input on the situation. WC: 490/1010 |

At first she was largely curious about the new arrivals. Lyra understood that Roshi was there to protect his students if there was a great enough need but that didn’t mean she was above being intimidated. When Yamato’s power flared without warning it incited a soft noise as she quickly vanished behind the corner of the building. The urge to flee nearly overtook her desire to see what Roshi wanted. In fact it would have if not for the fact she felt the sudden increase of Yamato’s power cease. It wasn’t until she heard the sound of Roshi’s voice that she risked taking another peak around the corner. She didn’t really understand much of what he said. The language barrier was still quite a hurdle for the elder master but she did understand that he wanted her to approach. The word beautiful may as well of fallen on deaf ears though. The word meant nothing to her but she died step out from concealment. She clasped her hands in front of her. Now that she was in view it was clear that she barely reached over four feet in height. Her long black hair matched that of the vaguely Victorian style dress she wore. They both stood out in stark contrast to her pale skin. Yamato sat upon the ground as he nursed a wound on the top of his head. Lyra’s emerald-eyed gaze shifted from the wound to Master Roshi’s staff. Had the old master struck his student? There was another man nearby that Lyra assumed was yet another student of Roshi’s. The two conversed for a while and from the tone and mannerisms she assumed something hadn’t gone as intended. She simply stared at everyone who had gathered through a wide-eyed gaze and remained silent. She did her best to pick out the words she understood. With that she’d try to piece the conversation together by filling in the gaps. Unfortunately for her she wasn’t able to make much of the conversation so she simply stood there. She didn’t stray too close to the downed red-head but she did turn his attention to him. She reminded him of someone she met once but it was clear there was no relation between the two. She quirked a single brow as she turned to look at Eli. She spoke naught a word but the level of wariness she possessed was easily distinguished in the way she stood. It was like she was ready to flee at a moment’s notice. If someone approached her she would do her best to keep what she considered to be a safe distance from them.

From the sounds of it... the training wasn't going to be what they had expected. Were they not actually going to fight, but run errands? To be honest, that wasn't very shocking to hear. He had heard a great deal about this man and how his students never actually battled with each other until the end. "Didn't have'ta hit me..." He murmured and let his gaze lift towards the female that had finally made her way over to them. The way that she held herself was all too familiar, she kept her distance from them and her lips kept tightly shut. She likely didn't understand English or Japanese very much, to which he understood. Yamato had to learn those languages, he had purely ever only known Russian. "Oi." He spoke up, hoping to meet those lime orbs once more and once he had, he found himself freezing up. A pink flush covered his tanned cheeks at her cute demeanor, nearly causing him to lose his composure. "I'm sorry about before, alright?" He rubbed the back of his head and slowly brought himself to stand up. "For scaring you that is.. I thought you may have been someone else." He realized that his words may have gone to deaf ears, so instead offered her a soft and rare smile, his head tilting to the side. He hoped this sort of act showed her that he was apologetic and hoping to start off on a new foot to things. His attention then returned to Roshi, a small sigh escaping the demon's nose. "So.. you mean to tell us that you need three people to pick you up some dirty magazines?" His brow lifted as both of his arms crossed over his own chest. "If we pick these up, you better teach us something good out of it." Though the words seemed threatening enough, he found his features softer than usual. It had likely been from his time spent with Hercule and Krillin that had gotten him used to such comical banter. "Well, Elijah and..." His gaze then fell upon the petite female, hoping that he may coax out her name at least. "My name is Yamato." He spoke this to their third member, thinking that she may not have heard him before when he told this to the other male. "Let's head out then, shall we?" His aura flared around him once more, though it hadn't been as intense as before and he brought himself to hover above the sands, awaiting for the others before he would take off towards the skies and towards their destiation of Satan City. Elijah couldn’t help but give a half smile at the conversation between Lyra and Yomato. It was a sincere apology for something Eli didn’t see worth apologizing for. There was nothing wrong with keeping your guard up. His grin became much larger at the exchange between Yomato and Roshi. "If we pick these up, you better teach us something good out of it." Elijah couldn’t have agreed more whole-heartedly. He was disappointed at such a half assed idea of training and even more so with their master thus far. No doubt he must have some skill and technique if Roshi had trained Soul, who’d bested Eli quite easily in combat. He genuinely wondered what he would learn from the main, hoping more than anything to hone his ability to control energy in a more efficient manner. Regardless, after Yomato kindly introduced himself and Elijah to their silent companion and suggested they take off, Elijah leapt to their air. He didn’t take much time to chat until they’d landed just outside of Satan City. “I really don’t know how we’re going to find them. Honestly, if we can’t find him I’d imagine the Roshi would be fine with some new magazines, he’s kind of an equal opportunity pervert.” He smiled at his own remark, before turning to the silent girl. “Why haven’t you spoken? Are you a mute?” He asked her genuinely but turned to Yomato before she’d have a chance to respond. “She’s not a mute is she?” Immediately looking back at the girl he leaned down to eye level. “You look really… evil. Much more interesting than all the boring humans on this god-forsaken planet.” Finally resting to allow the others to interject, he stepped back and looked into the city where they were supposed to find one man out of thousands. The trio soon took to the skies and toward Satan City, ready to pick up.... dirty magazines. He couldn't help but to facepalm at the mere reminder of their journey and the compensation for their training. Though, Elijah made a good point, if they couldn't find what Roshi was looking for, they could just buy new ones -- wait a minute. They'd be buying... new ones...at a store... with people looking...with a woman with them. A deep scarlet blush flew over his tanned cheeks. Kami, did he hope that they didn't have to do that. The conversation soon shifted towards Lyra as Elijah took an interest in her and wondered about her silence. However, before she could respond, he directed the question at him. A chuckle came deep within his throat as he stole a glance back towards the raven haired woman. "I'm sure she has her reasons. Perhaps she doesn't understand our language just yet, I know I was a lot like her a few years back." He mused out-loud and let his crimson gaze land upon the city that finally came to them. “You look really… evil." Yamato's brows shot up at this as he quickly stole a look towards his companions. He had never been a great judge of character, so he honestly couldn't see what it was that came off as 'evil'. If anything, he almost felt a sort of kinship to this woman, as if they were nearly the same sort of being. If not interely, then at least to some sort of extent. He didn't even know of the people he was traversing with were demons - but he could definetely sence that they weren't exactly human either. Brown boots hit the concrete streets below as he landed from the skies. Various eyes shot towards them, along with murmurs of how they were able to fly in the first place. Some even suggested that they were shooting a new movie and even recognized Yamato from Hercule's new one that had come out of the other day. An animated sweatdrop slid down the back of his head at this as he coughed into his hand and adverted his gaze around the place. The realization that they were likely lost came to him. "So... we're looking for a guy named Henry. But, did you guys notice how he didn't give us a place to search?" How many people in this city could share that name? He sighed through his nose and shoved his hands deep into his jacket's pockets. "Oi... are we really going to have to go with plan B? It was supposed to be a joke." One of his hands lifted to pinch the bridge of his nose as he began walking past the crowds of people. Well, if they didn't want to look some perverts looking to have a fun time, they better find this Henry. [dohtml]</div> <div class='yamato-words'> 502 / 1,817 / 3,795 </div> </div> [/dohtml] |

Lyra stared at Yamato during his exchange with the aging Master. Had Master Roshi struck the man that hard? The lump that the redhead rubbed was all the answer she needed on that. When he finally called out in an attempt garner her attention she tensed up ever so slightly but she did not try to move away. Instead she tilted her head to the side while avoiding direct eye contact. The redhead continued to speak as he stood up. She understood that he was addressing her but she didn’t quite understand that he was attempting to apologize for his previous behavior. Whether he realized that his words made little to no sense to her wasn’t entirely noticed but he offered a smile that was somewhat disarming. She stared at his lips for a moment as she brought her hand up towards her face. The tips of her fingers briefly brushed against her pale lips while she observed the way he positioned his mouth. Lyra did her best to mimic the movement and at first it was a horrible mockery of it but soon she offered him a smile. It might be obvious it wasn’t genuine however if he looked at her eyes as her eyes still remained guarded. The smile remained there for a few moments after Yamato turned to address Master Roshi once more. Soon though she allowed her muscles to relax and her mouth fell back into a neutral expression. It didn’t take long before the attention returned back to the young demoness; much to her dismay. That is until she recognized the word name. The man addressed himself as Yamato. Previously he mentioned Elijah and in her hysterical state she didn’t quite catch their names. At least not enough to recognize them for what they were. She stole a glance towards the other man there and pondered if Elijah was his name or some word that escaped her comprehension. “Ya ma to,” she said while she placed heavy stress on each syllable. One hand was placed over her chest as she tilted her head back up to its natural position. “Lyra.” It was the only word she spoke but and before long an aura erupted around the one called Yamato once more. Lyra appeared somewhat apprehensive at first but she didn’t sense any immediate danger from the ki as she had before. When Yamato started to ascend until his feet hovered off the ground the young demoness started to understand what was going on. The man wanted to fly somewhere. The most likely cause was to complete whatever task the elder Master had in store for them. While she couldn’t understand the mortal tongue she did find ways to understand Master Roshi, though at times he had to repeat himself and use quite a few crude drawings. The other male, Elijah, started to speak as well but she barely understood anything he said. It was clear he had spoken to her since he looked her way but before she could respond he turned to Yamato and asked a similar question. She tilted her head once more as her body began to rise up from the ground. When she hovered roughly at the same height as Yamato she noticed Elijah began to speak to her again but not before Yamato offered an answer. Her brows rose as she mimicked him by saying, “Evil?” She looked at both of the men before she let out a soft sigh. She really had no idea what they were saying. Her limited vocabulary was going to prove to be a hindrance so she’d need to try and expand it quickly. Lyra could have spoken in the native tongue from the depths of the netherworld but that usually resulted in people freaking out. On more than one occasion she’d been attacked. So for now she simply remained silent and was prepared to follow them. She’d do her best to keep pace with the other two. Idly she looked back over her shoulder towards the small house as it shrank in the distance. The young demoness felt a sense of apprehension at leaving familiar territory for the unknown. Before long the one called Yamato started to descend. Lyra gave him a few moments to gain some distance before she adjusted the flow of her ki to start her descent. Unlike her traveling companion she did not let her boots touch the ground. Instead she stopped until she hovered a few inches from the ground. The black folds of the skirt of her dress had accumulated some dust that she busily brushed away while the redhead began to speak again. Once the fabric was clean enough for her taste she looked up to notice that Yamato appeared somewhat agitated. The man pinched the bridge of his nose and this caused the hairs on the back of her neck to start to stand on end. She turned and looked around half expecting some enemy to leap out from the crowd. That’s when her expression shifted and her eyes grew wider. She’d been too preoccupied with the state of her attire that she failed to notice that she’d arrived in a busy street amidst the city. Yamato started to walk forward seemingly undeterred by the crowd and she turned to look at Elijah before she took off into the sky to hide along a nearby rooftop to track their progress from what she felt was safety.

When Lyra spoke, her voice was not matching her appearance. At least not in Elijah's opinion. He really did expect something to sound haunting. Perhaps she still was to humans, maybe they were scared of ghastly looking little girls, but honestly it kind of ruined the ensemble for him. Regardless, he liked the innocence she brought. Or perhaps it was just a lack of understanding. Either way it was hard not to smile when she spoke. "Evil?" "Maybe not," He muttered, shrugging off his earlier comment. Yomato pointed out an obvious flaw in their goal of finding this Henry which was actually kind of nagging at Eli as well. "Oi... are we really going to have to go with plan B? It was supposed to be a joke." Eli reached into the folds of his robe and pulled out a small bag of zeni. It was plenty for all the magazines Roshi could handle for probably a few weeks. He could ask them to pitch in also, but realistically none of it was his to begin with. Looting was ridiculously simple when you knew how to intimidate people by merely emitting an aura of ki, let alone using it. Still, at least he hadn't murdered anyone yet. "Realistically, it's probably the easiest." He smiled before he continued. "I have no doubt he'll notice a lack of personal touch that he's no doubt distributed among his past catalogs, but I don't see any reason not to just do it this way." He handed it to Yomato, thinking he looked the oldest out of the bunch. Eli wouldn't be allowed to buy them because he hardly looked his age and never bothered to aquire an ID. He doubted Lyra would have one either, considering she looked like an 8 year old. "I think it would be best if you paid for them, Yomato." He glanced around looking for their bright eyed companion before quickly realizing that she'd taken to the skies and was watching them skittishly from the above. He didn't mind. It was like having a guardian angel. Well, more of a guardian nightmare, but still comforting in the weirdest way. "Over there," He spoke to his red haired acquaintance, pointing across the way towards a large building flaunting a huge neon sign in the shape of a womans legs, featuring fishnets and heels. "That place definitely sells Roshi's kind of merchandise." He wandered towards it hoping his companion was following and thinking about just how easy Roshi's request turned out to be. He had no doubt their replacement would suffice the old man's needs and grew excited about the prospect of learning how to feel the power of others around him as the many peers he'd previously met already did.
