Continued from here It had been about a week since his inquiry and Ticho had yet to receive any word from Juch. The professor had agreed to look into it during his free time: a rather generous thing to do as free time for students and professors alike tended to be a very limited resource. Still, the saiyan couldn't help but shake the feeling that the android knew more than he let one. For an instant, he could swear his usual grin had widened ever so subtly at the mention of Bulla's name. Maybe it was nothing, but it seemed like an odd gesture to make just from hearing a name unless he knew something. In fact, the young scholar even tried asking a few professors around campus and while one or two pointed out her possible connection to Capsule Corp, none changed their mannerisms in the slightest upon mention of that name. Curious, Ticho elected to try to 'run into' the professor for casual conversation to see if he acted any different towards the saiyan. Casually, he waited outside of the building in which Juch’s office was located as if he were simply reading to study for a class. It may still seem somewhat less than subtle, but he would allow the android to make the first move if he were to acknowledge the young scholar's presence. WC: 225 |

Well, that was quite the ordeal. Juch sighed to himself. It had been some amount of time since the incident in the park, but now that everything was finally settled, he was able to return back to the matters that needed his attention the most. With his class schedule, there was only so much time to attend to things outside of academia. He had to make use of the little pockets of time here and there—five minutes, a handful of two minutes…they might not seem like much at the time, but they do add up at a certain point. As he hung up on his phone—a device now without any wears and tears—Juch approached the building that housed his office. His cane brought him near the steps, only for him to spot Ticho. Students find all sorts of places to study, and he himself used those very stairs at some point during his career. He nodded towards the Saiyan with a small smile, “Ticho,” he said as he continued to walk past the younger man, with an evident destination in mind beyond just outside of the building. The professor had proceeded past the saiyan with little more than an acknowledgement. It was unusual to be sure, as he often stopped and greeted Ticho when they encountered one anothwr. Still, the android's behavior so far included nothing particularly suspicious. Juch could simply be pressed for time, especially since his office hours would begin shortly. "Morning professor," Ticho replied, looking up briefly from his book to shoot the android a warm smile. It was psychology 101 after all to keep one guessing. The young scholar made no further attempt to stop the professor from reaching the door and entering the building to begin his usual administrative tasks. Instead of relying on direct confrontation, Ticho elected to make patience his primary tool. Following this encounter, the saiyan would proceed to do the same the next morning. Were the results the same, he would do so again the morning after that until the interaction changed. Truly, it was the definition of insanity. Even the book he studied would remain the same to make his aims more conspicuous. Surely, the professor would eventually break the infinite loop that had been placed in front of him, yielding additional data from this exercise. WC: 199 + 225 = 424 |

Another week had passed since the silver haired doctor started to see Ticho’s figure by the front entrance of the physics building. While the weather continued to become cooler and the leaves began to leave their place from the tree branches, the Saiyan’s form remained a constant during each morning. As Juch left the classrooms and move to his office for office hours, he would greet the younger scholar with a short, but friendly nod and move on with his schedule. There was still much to do, after all. Yet after another week, it seemed that Ticho’s patience had paid off. The android’s briefcase swung to and fro as he headed towards the building, but instead of walking past Ticho, the professor stopped beside him, “Good morning, Ticho,” Juch nodded, “Still studying even now? Very admirable, I must say.” Fall break started tomorrow, and office hours for Juch were nonexistent for the day, hence why he had the inclination to not simply walk by like the past two weeks. Roughly 2 weeks had gone by with no change in the interaction. Ticho began to wonder if his methods had been too subtle. The spot he'd chosen really was a nice spot to study and the book he'd chosen really did have a lot of material he needed. Within the first couple of days, fake studying had become real studying. On the last day before Fall break, the infinite loop the young scholar had intiated finally broke. Before him stood the professor in his usual cheerful demeanor. Looking up from his book, Ticho gave a warm smile. "Well, those who goof off during Fall break usually struggle when class starts again. Really, Fall Break should be renamed 'independent study week' in my humble opinion." The saiyan studied Juch subtly, keeping his eye open for any changes in demeanor. So far, it seemed the android had maintained the same mannerisms despite their discussion a few weeks ago. "I know you've been swamped, but I did want to touch base. Have you found anything out about the inquiry I made?" The young scholar maintained his facial expression, feeling that applying a lot of pressure would ruin the results of this exercise. He wanted to see exactly how the instructor's demeanor changed as the question escaped his lips. WC: 215 + 424 = 639 |

Ticho seemed to be in a good mood, as he reflected Juch’s expression with one of his own. The campus was not as loud now, with many students either sleeping in or going back home for the remainder of the week, so the stairs wouldn’t be flooded with the foot traffic of the various scholars that resided within the academic walls, “Mm, mm, I suppose that’s one way to look at it,” the android gave an encouraging nod to the Saiyan’s declaration of his view regarding the fall break, “It is good to see that your motivation hasn’t waned.” And that was certainly true. It might be easy to have that sort of drive during the first week, the first semester, the first year. But time is a terrifying foe indeed. But those who can overcome that and remain consistent throughout is something that’s truly admirable, regardless of the field they partake in. The Saiyan’s curiosity also seemed to know no bounds, as he brought up the topic that he had originally asked Juch about around a fortnight ago. Ah, it was GRIME, wasn’t it? Hm, why was he so interested in that anyways? The doctor’s mouth formed an ‘o’ shape as ran his fingers through his thick hair, “Ah yes, I remember that,” Juch nodded, “It was that organization, right?” As he leaned down, the android took a seat besides Ticho on the steps with a soft sigh and continued, “I took a look and did some research on that group. As far as I can tell, there has been no information available regarding them that’s on Kelioux. I’ll try and expand my search to Ippen, Juno, and Cauldron next when I get the chance.” “But, from what you told me last time, there was someone you were looking for, right? A ‘person of interest’,” Juch tilted his head, “Is that a time sensitive matter?” Juch Word Count: 316 Total Word Count: 316 + 359 = 675 |

The android was pretty quick to assure the saiyan that he'd been looking into the organization. His mannerisms appeared fairly genuine for the most part, though running his hand through his hair was unusual. Ticho shook his head as the professor asked if there was any urgency to the request. "I hope not anyway. It couldn't hurt to find out sooner rather than later. She seemed pretty interested in keeping contact and then seemingly went off the grid. If she's in some sort of trouble, I would like to know so that I can help her." The saiyan gave a light sigh at the thought. She seemed strong enough to take care of herself so it seemed unlikely, but even the strongest person can be brought down under the right conditions. "I even tried investigating Capsule Corp after you pointed our her possible connection. Their customer service is complete garbage and I couldn't get any conclusive information from them. I was able to uncover rumors that members of the Briefs family are missing, but nothing definative or specific." WC: 178 + 639 = 817 |

Juch placed both of his hands on top of the cane as he nodded. Ticho was worried about the girl, but it wasn’t much that he could do about it without a trail to latch onto. At the very least the Saiyan did try to reach out to Capsule Corp, but it seemed that the search in that area had turned up fruitless. Alas, that was the situation, and even though Ticho had vented some frustration with dealing with the customer support, the android had expected something like that to happen. After all, what was seemingly like just a random call asking about the CEO and her family may not end well half the time. “Well, it has been a few weeks now since you first contacted her, correct?” Juch turned back to Ticho, “So, it is possible that something may have happened to her; or perhaps not. It is all conjecture at this point, unfortunately. The reason could be something as simple as changing her mind. But, I’ll continue taking a look at the issue if I have some more time.” Juch Word Count: 182 Total Word Count: 182 + 675 = 857 |
