(Planet, Combat Rune)

The fields had been fully harvested by now, and the rolling hills of soil were being prepared for the winter season. There was not a whole lot of work that needed done, but it still was part of the various lessons and books that the Kitsune martial-artist had studied over the last year. Had it already been a year...? It felt like so long ago since Hayami and himself had been brought to this world, both of them figurative prisoners to their adopted parent, Yan Cass... so much had changed since then, especially with himself and his outlook towards life. His instruction under so many masters, his growth as a person... it was hard to believe it had only been a year...

Unfortunately, his quiet reflection was interrupted by an energy spike--already, he could feel someone's power level go rather high from the direction of Querenci--normally, this would not be all that alarming, but the spirit energy was intimately familiar to him, both through his senses and his mental link with his beloved--Hayami's mind had suddenly heightened to an irritated state, accompanied by an unleashing of her power... or at least, a significant portion of it. It was sudden and alarming. So much so that he immediately dropped the tool in his hands and tapped the rune upon his belt, feeding it some of his personal energy in order to activate it--his other hand made a swift hand gesture, the symbol of travel, before he found himself swiftly transported to Querenci--and into a cart of potatoes.

He grunted audibly from the landing, but he was able to extract himself from the cart after a moment to recover from the sudden shift in air pressure and temperature--the weather was turning towards the cold, but Querenci was managing to hold onto some level of heat, thankfully. Once the Fox removed himself from the cart, he disted himself off and took a quick look around, noticing the damaged portion of the city from what looked like an energy blast. A few people were gathered around the scene, looking towards the crater whereas Daji's eyes were drawn towards his mate--Hayami.

What happened? he asked, his mind pressing against Hayami's affectionately, yet there was a mixture of protectiveness and concern within his tone as well, speaking to her with his thoughts rather than his voice--they had practiced so much when it came to speaking mentally that it had become more second nature than speaking--especially at long distances. She would sense the spike in power that he had felt from her, as if she needed an explanation about what his senses had felt. What was strange was the lack of a comparable spirit energy--he did not sense anyone strong enough to truly be a threat, so he was obviously confused why Hayami had decided to destroy a small portion of the city.

Of course, Daji wasted no time walking to Hayami's side, and even though she had an irritated look on her face at first, she still possessed a beauty and grace about her that was enthralling--she had always been that way, but he could not help but admire her fluid and beautiful movements. If she let him, she would feel his cheek brush against hers in their normal greeting, a hand upon her shoulder to reassure her of his presence. He was not going anywhere until she had calmed down.

Hayami saw nothing left of the stranger but a hole that smoldered. "Maybe that was a little harsh..." The kitsune reflected a moment and then said to herself, "Wellm he had to find out that there's always a bigger fish one day." She shrugged her shoulders, and then she felt Daji shift position, and then she giggled as the young fox saw in her mind's eye where- and what- he'd landed on. The question that he posed was easily replied to, "I over-reacted to a bug." There was more to it than that, but she'd explain it later.

For now, Hayami landed away from the crater as Grace healed herself. The young fox hardly- well more like in the past few months- had given Her Grace a scar like that. Luckily, she was self cleaning and all magical. Daji appeared soon afterwards, and the pair exchanged their facial rub greeting. The people in the square seemed to dissapate with the show over, though a few of the more "romantic" type stood a moment longer with that "aww, they're so cute together" look before they remembered what the female had done to the Grey.

"Lets...go back. To your farm. I haven't seen it in a while." Well, a while was a little of an exaggeration. She had helped out with the field when Daji was away, as she didn't want any of his hard work to go to waste. She just did little things, like pull weeds and water the plants. Daji was much more of an authority than Hayami, as she had told him: this was their project, but she wanted him to be smarter than her at it. It had likely bewildered poor Daji, but that was just how it was. He wanted to provide for them both, and Hayami had confessed that she didn't want him to feel like he wasn't if she helped him a ton early on.

Her response was... well, to say he was concerned was a little off the mark, and to say he was bewildered was shy of the post--there was a lot of things going on in his head at the moment, more so that she would respond to a bug with such... force, but then again, he knew something had been bothering her lately. But he did not have the reasons yet to really press her on that, or this, issue--she probably had gotten startled by something and had let herself go loose for a moment... but she would probably explain later. Their intimate moment was interrupted by a few people still watching them, making a few comments that made his face flush a little until Hayami gave her request--namely, to visit the farm.

It was true, she had been busy with her own work since he had regurned from his trip, and while she had helped maintain the land, she seemed to make it a point to let him take the lead--for what reason, she only hinted at times, but the male Kitsune figured she wanted him to excel at something on his own. Well... he was working on a few things, if he was honest, but it was nice to have so mich support from her. With an eager nod, he wrapped an arm around her waist before activating the teleportation rune again. Traveling such a short distance did not drain the rune as much as going to another planet did, and with a flash of Ki and a hand gesture, they would find themselves transported to the Fox's farm... and thankfully, not landing in any more potatoes.

It would be much like Hayami had left it, albeit with a lot less crops soaking in the sun. Everything had been harvested from the fuelds they had been given and taken to the storage to be milled and prepared as grain and rice. Nothing extravagant or diverse as most farmers, maybe, but it was Daji's first harvest, so it was best to stick to the basics. The mill was powered by the wind that seemed to blow across the fields unrelenting, but not harshly, and at the coot of the mill were a pair of buildings--The Dojo that Daji now used as a place of instruction for teaching Ninjitsu, and the other was... well, it was to be their new home, once they decided to finally move out of Juch's hotel.

Even now that they had arrived, Daji kept his arm around his beloved's waist, his tail brushing up against hers. "I've been... kind of busy, I guess you could say," he admitted, finally proud to show off all his hard work to his mate. The money he had collected on his travels had gone a long way... and thankfully, it meant a brighter future.

Indeed, things were strange with Hayami. With the loss of some memories, she was not as conservative as she'd been taught, though there were the lessons that Yan had given her. Though unlike that other... was it a guy or a woman?... Yan just wanted things to be more open to choice? That was how Hayami had felt it was like. Well, unlike before she had lost her memories, she was fine to do things with Daji that she otherwise might have been more rigid about. But now was not the time for that, not while she was still a little frayed. The situation and what she had done was a little shock to her system. She'd acted without thought, had just killed a person.

Unlike before, where she might have freaked out, something felt...relieved. She was surprised, and a little horrified inside that she had obliterated someone and it didn't feel like she'd done something bad. This was, however, very much against the reason she had came to Grace- or to be more accurate was forced to come to Grace- was to work on her not act impulsively. But Yan had promised her safety, especially from Damaskia. That feeling was shattered, splintered apart, and tossed to the ground. Suspended disbelief, one could say.

"Daji...I have to admit that I'm impressed with your work, and work ethic. You've improved yourself so much." There was no hint of jealously or anger, but there was a sense of happiness and pride in her mate. Hayami felt like she had hardly improved at all. She was still impulsive, still not able to let slights go easily. However, she had at least started to branch out and be less cooped up. She'd gotten to know the people around her, at the very least, and that was a start.

The young fox leaned, her head now against Daji's chest. She had not protested when he'd used his teleportation, and she didn't try to move away from him, nor did she want to move away from him. Not for a while. It had been a while since she had just stood or sat with her mate. He felt a bit foreign to her, with how much he had grown. "Tell me about your teachers, your adventures. I want to hear them from you. We can stay in our home to be, and I'll just listen."

It had been a long since she had just listened. And she wanted to listen, despite the disquiet in the young maiden's heart.

When he felt her head against his chest, he leaned his own head against hers, lightly and affectionately. He could sense the disquiet in her mind and heart, the kind that seemed to weigh on her on some days, but she always seemed to find a way to shine brightly and warmly--he never pressed the issue, even though some days he wanted to. Winter was coming, and they would have more time for one another when the snows fell; maybe then, they would be able to work through things. Something was bothering her, and though her preferences and boundaries had seemed to change over time, one thing was certain: she was still Hayami. She was still the woman he loved.

He was not sure if she was upset about over-reacting about a bug or if there was more to it... but he did not press, preferring to just spend this moment with his beloved.

She praised his work ethic and how much he had grown, feeling himself rise in pride for a moment as he kissed the top of her head. It is as you said--I work for both of us. Everything I do is for us both, he told her, their minds cuddling just as close as their bodies did, a sense of warmth and love spreading.

It was... well, I guess we can start from the start of it... after the incident on Grace... he started as he slowly began to walk, guiding her to their home-to-be as he explained what had happened. It was not a quick pace at all, cuddled as they were, and if she seemed reluctant to move, he was just stand there--he had no interest in ruining the moment.

"After I went to the temple in the west and escaped, I felt... responsible for that explosion in Malifore. I... I still kind of do, in a way. But I wanted the strength to keep that from happening again--so I went on my journey. I visited the Yaidratians first, since you had recommended them to me--and they were very welcoming and taught me many things. Then there was Kelioux with their massive libraries--the Grandmaster there was very wise and we stayed up... a lot of nights just talking. I still don't get everything he said... but I think Ill figure it out eventually. From there, I went to the planet Valhalla, where I met a Saiyan named Luther.

He was... well, he was a bit rough,
he continued as he finally slid the door to the house open, their home-to-be, and while it was still sparsely decorated, there was a comfortable couch for them to sit upon should she desire it. Luther... Its weird how some of the questions I had, that I had asked other masters, only Luther had an answer, and most of his answers... it all revolved around standing your ground, showing your bravery, and fighting for honor. It... they weren't the answers I was looking for, but then again, everything about this trip was not what I expected. Especially when I met King Kai--I'm still not sure if he took my training seriously or not. He was funny though--I learned a lot from him as well. And then... and then I went to Vegeta. The--the planet, not the person.
