“Welcome back Mr. Gray” the black faced creature spoke from behind a corner as he stepped out. Mr. Popo, the grand ally to the Kami of Earth. Gray had been training under Kami for sometime, he felt great leaps in skill and experience but still couldn’t lay a finger on this creature. He had come to the conclusion that Popo was not human, but some sort of celestial god that chose to reside with the Namekian on earth. He smiled back at Mr. Popo and nodded his head greeting him in return. “Hello again Mr. Popo!” Gray started off, his head rising back up and his hand raising in a welcoming gesture. “How have you been?” Gray asked as he looked over, noticing that Kami sat on his rocking chair. Kami had a long history on earth and he was looking down upon the globe of some kind that he received from the Witch of earth. This globe allowed for him to view anyone anywhere on earth. It was definitely an item that was desired by many mortals but belonged only in the hands of a god. He looked up to Gray and gave a faint smile, which was more than he thought he was going to receive. “How have you been master Kami?” Gray asked as he bowed before his master, showing the respect that was more than deserved. “I am doing well Gray…” he paused for a moment, noticing that Gray’s appearance as altered. “If I wasn’t so blind...I would not have noticed but you look different young man…” Kami started as he approached Gray, his hand placed on his shoulder as he looked into his eyes. “The demonic energy is still there...but not as active as it once was. Have you and Ozi separated?” he questioned while thinking about his own split from Piccolo in the past. “Well, I managed to absorb his energy into my own. I was tricked into a science experiment that somehow managed to merge our energies into one...since then I…” he paused for a moment while holding his hand open and staring into his palm. “It’s strange...not having him after always being there for most of my life..” He looked back at Kami with a smile on his face, no regrets of the sequence of events that lead to this outcome. “I see…” Kami looked over toward the large white door. Gray was an amazing pupil and he felt that he could only get stronger if he was pushed in the right direction. “Well..I suppose your looking to enter the HBTC again?” he asked as he smiled back at Gray. “Yes Master” he replied and bowed quickly in a respectful manner. “I see, well then dont let me slow you down.” he started, his staff raising off the ground and tapping gently twice. Its echo seemed to act as a key and a callsign as the locks around the door opened and it swung open. “Please, return stronger and make the most of your time in there. This is your second and last visit.” he walked away and seemed to be finished speaking with Gray, something about the situation just felt awkward to Gray but he could not put his finger on it. “Mr. Gray” a voice from behind called out, Gray spun quickly around and his eyes met that of Mr. Popo who stood behind him. His hand clasped tightly around a bag of some sorts. “Here” he said as he threw the bag at Gray who caught it mid air, his hands clasped tightly around the bag but looking back at Popo in confusion. “What…” before he could finish Mr. Popo held his hand up and stopped him from speaking. “They are not senzu beans…” he started as his hand raised up and pointed toward his chest. “And don’t take them till you get inside…” his vague answer remained mystery in his head as he looked at the bag. Mr. Popo had already gone out of sight by time Gray looked up. He figured that the man must have had other important things to do. He made his way toward the entrance to the HBTC, stopping just before stepping in and looked up at the clock. Taking a deep breath as he closed his eyes. “Here we go…” he said to himself as he stepped through the doorway, blinded by the illuminated white foreverness that waited inside. The blinding illumination finally passed and he found himself standing the entry platform to the chamber with the door slamming behind him. He figured it was time to get started as he started to pull his jacket off, letting it slide off and onto the floor. He stopped just at the edge of the tile platform before stepping off to the training area. He was beginning to have flashbacks and regrets but knew that this was the most effective way to gain strength. As he stepped off to begin his training, he had no idea what the time in this chamber would actually bring him this time. The main event waited in the bag he left with his gear. |

One Month in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber It felt like weeks had passed, everyday he started with a different routine focusing on a different body part of technique. He had just returned from a day of working on coordination while increasing his rhythmic movement in combat, or in the latin his effective combat speed. He fell to the ground, his arms spread out from his side with sweat dripping from his resting body. The lack of gravity after stepping away from the spiritual platform was relieving and relaxing all at the same time. He took a deep breath as he brought his knees to his chest, kicking his legs into the air to propel himself to his feet, stumbling from exhaustion as he stumbled to the nearby pantry. He grabbed a twenty pound bag full of rice and threw it out of the pantry. It was quickly followed by some dried herbs and several forms of lean meats. One thing that he enjoyed about the Hyperbolic time chamber was the endless amount of food that constantly seemed to resupply itself every time he shut the door. After half an hour he had cooked a meal to feed several dozen people with only himself in mind. His plan was to devour every last crumb and grain of rice that he had put out. Before he could put the first spoon full of rice in his mouth, he couldn’t help but notice the bag that Mr. Popo had given him, resting under the bed. He reached out for it and held it tight, opening it and dumping some of its contents out into his palm. To his surprise, it really was not a senzu bean, but rather a black bean that seemed almost marble. “What…?” he thought to himself as he held it to the light and saw what seemed like a galaxy within it. He was unsure of what the contents of his bean were, or what its effects were that he would experience. But at this very moment it did not appeal to his stomach, he slipped it back into its bag and threw the bag back under the bed. He quickly went about scarfing down the contents of the meal he had prepared. Mr. Popo had given him those strange seeds for a reason, but he was still unsure of their purpose. He had massive respect for the deceivingly passive nature of the man. He could easily trick any fool into believing there was no real power to him, but anyone who trained under Kami knew that he was powerful. There were numerous times that Popo had tested Gray, nearly breaking him and putting him on the brink of quitting this journey. His respect for the assistant had grown so much that he was more concerned with disappointing him than he was Kami. |

Month two of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber “Haaaaaa!!!!” he shouted out as a Super Kamehameha wave left his hands, its mass amount of energy exploding away from him and traveling endlessly into the white void ahead of him. His arms fell to his sides as he panted to try and catch his breath. Looking down at the burn marks left by the base of his attack and the cracks that pushed away from it. His ki control was definitely increasing with practice, but he craved more. He turned to look over his shoulder back at the entry platform which seemed like a small spec in the distance. In order to utilize the effectiveness of the Hyperbolic time chamber, one must venture away from the safety of the platform. The conditions of survival became harder as the gravity increased the further out you went. The thickness of the oxygen increased, making it harder to breathe. Even though the walk back would only get easier as you got closer, it was the effort it takes out of your body to move out this far that was taxing. He dropped to a knee, sweat streaming from his brows as he panted for air. “Holy crap…” he thought to himself, wishing he had brought food or a senzu bean with him. It was his fault, he didn’t think the extra mile out from his normal distance would have such a significant impact on his body. He struggled to rise to his feet as he swung around, his body swaying left and right as he walked back toward the platform. “Tomorrow...I’ll bring my lunch…” he thought to himself, his legs weak and struggling to support his movement. |
