Trumpet has Baba's Crystal Ball, Cell has Combat

------------------------------------

Trumpet rested his head against a palm tree as a gentle wind swept across Kami's Lookout. The tree's long palm fronds cast welcome shadows as they shaded the namekian from the Earth's bright sun. It had been a lazy day, after the events that had transpired the afternoon before. He fingered the edges of the strange cloak he'd received from Dr. Neshin. It was silky smooth, but it was hard to believe because he'd seen the piles of stones that it had been created from. He'd never heard of Sun Stones before yesterday's excitement, but he was aware now of how powerful they were. He was glad to have had Soul and Fasha with him when that monster had come out of the rift the Doctor had opened. Without them, he wasn't sure if he'd be relaxing this very second.

With a yawn, he cleared his mind of such dark thoughts. That was in the past. Wondering what could have been was never healthy. He hated what ifs. Reaching out with his senses, he felt something drawing his attention and on closer inspection discovered that his Crystal Ball, wrapped up and stored away with his possession inside of Kami's mansion, was sending out some kind of signal. He reached for it with his mind and tapped into its power. Just as if he'd made physical contact with the ancient and powerful artifact, the world around him swirled into a stark white, blank slate. He squeezed his eyes and imagined a location on his home planet and when he opened them he found himself in that location just as he remembered it. A single tree rose up nearby, surrounded by a field of crops in every direction just about as far as the eye could see. It was one of the largest farms on all of Namek, and he'd spent many days in his first few years of life working that field to feed the larger villages in far away reaches of the planet.

His eyes roved the miles of freshly tilled dirt, the moist, earthen scent filling his nostrils. It was a veritable paradise. Taking it all in, he almost wondered why he'd ever left. He could have been happy as a farmer for all of his days, but then he remembered why that couldn't be so. The scenery changed, turning into a barren stretch of land. There were craters all over, some big and some small. Even the single tree, his favorite lounge under as a child, was broken in half. The whithered trunk still stood, but the top half was long gone. "Gelidus..." he muttered, clenching his fist.

Cell opened his eyes, another land in a far away place he had never been in the normal realm. It was dark and bleak, and battle scarred. It looked like the remnants of a destroyed village. Who ever had done this had very little regard for mortal life. What crossed the Bio-Androids mind was if this was an actual memory of another fighter or a made-up rendering from a scene in that person’s mind. Either way it was a very saddening rendition of a place that was surely vibrant and full of mirth. Expanding the senses of his mind Cell searched for the other being in this world, his eyes scanning the vicinity. While he did not see anyone, yet he knew someone was here, he felt them. Surprisingly he felt a familiar signature, one of Namekian origin. Was this that warriors home world? Or at least his variation of it. Trumpet was his name and he vividly remembered his exchange with the warrior from weeks previous. He had indeed put up quite a fight. The prospect of exchanging blows with him again excited him beyond measure. How much stronger had he gotten since their last exchange? Chuckling Cell decided to wait until the Namekian found him and willing increased his ki signature ever so slightly to raise his attention to his presence.

“Yes, I am here.”

Admist the loom and doom of his surroundings, Trumpet felt a familiar presence. He perked up and looked into the distance towards it. Sure enough, he could see a person in the distance, though he couldn't make out any details about his appearance. He knew who it was, though. He cast another longing glance at the dead tree from his childhood before flying off towards the fighter. When he neared, his eyes confirmed that it was the strange creature, Cell, that he'd fought in the astral realm before.

He landed nearby and looked the bio android up and down. He couldn't help but notice that Cell seemed stronger than before, and already he'd outclassed the namekian considerably the last time they had met. "Cell, we meet again. The astral realm seems to like sticking green people together," he said with a smirk.

Cell almost chuckled at the Namekian’s play at humor. It was rather amusing as he stood there, his arms crossed. He could tell the Namekian warrior was stronger then before and by a considerable amount. Cell was pleased with this as he sized his opponent up. What latent powers had this fighter unlocked in the time since last they had fought? He would have to test him and see what he had up his sleeve.

“So it would seem Trumpet.” The Bio-Android casually walked closer as he spoke, his demeanor clearly showing he felt very superior.

“You look like you have improved since last we met, I wonder at the limits of your new potential.” Cell smirked, clearly egging Trumpet on. “After all, after the last go around we had I would have thought you would never want to lay eyes on me again.” Cell smiled as he took up his stance and started to let his power seep out, slowly but steadily increasing his power level as he prepared for the Namek to advance. It surely would be rude to attack first when, He would gladly take the first hit and see just what he was dealing with.

“Your move.”

Trumpet grinned. He knew what Cell was playing at - trying to feel him out. Last time they'd met he'd held a surefire advantage, it was only reasonable for the android to assume the same to be true now, regardless of his own growth. He didn't know if he'd come far enough to best the bug-like warrior just yet, but he wasn't about to reveal his full hand on a whim. He wanted to see where his opponent was at now too.

"Gladly," the namekian replied with a wink. In the blink of an eye he'd sprung forward, crossing the distance between himself and his opponent in just a couple of bounds. Though he reared his fist back, the heavy haymaker was only a feint in favor of a much more swift set of jabs, capped off with an elbow across Cell's face.

As quickly as he'd been on the approach, he moved backwards again, resetting the short distance between them. He was eager to see his foe's own growth, and no better way he figured than to see how Cell initiated his attack.

Cell inwardly smiled as Trumpet had launched himself forward and let loose a few strikes. The attacks would have been easily dodge able but the Bio Android took them, each strike sliding him back slightly in the dirt and followed up with a deft elbow strike to the side of his face. He felt his footing slide to accommodate the hit, it had some bite to it. Much different then the last time they two had met, he had assuredly improved physically. But so had Cell and by a much greater degree. The coppery taste of his blood reinforced the fact that Trumpet was still hiding a decent amount of power and it exhilarated the creature. And just like that the Namekian had withdrawn and put distance between them, smartly so as Cell processed the information of his opponent’s attack and how to react.

“Very nice…very nice.” Cell clapped his hands as he let his power surge briefly, his muscles bulging at the sudden surge of strength. It was not even close to a true power up, but it would be enough to show his foe what he was getting himself into.

“Now let me pay back the favor.” Cell was grinning by this point, his gigantic frame slicing gracefully across the distance Trumpet had created, his body almost a complete blur as he launched a powerful set of consecutive combos towards the Namekians midsection, his tail whipping around to smack his opponent cleaning in the face. He didn’t expect any of this to do any real damage, but he wanted to see how Trumpet moved, how he reacted to each strike. The grin still evident across Cell’s face he placed his right hand out in front of himself and let lose a quick blast of ki hoping to sizzle his target and open up his defenses even more.

Cell moved with insane speed, becoming a blur to Trumpet's eyes. The android's fists pumped into his midsection rapidly, and then his foe's tail whipped around towards his face. Miraculously, the namekian ducked, letting the tail sail past him. He couldn't believe the dexterity Cell possessed, even at such a bulky size. He'd expected a more smash mouth style but the insect-man fought as smoothly as anyone he had met before.

With the bulked up android standing so close to him, Trumpet decided to trade blows with his foe. He spun around on his toes, aiming his elbow at Cell's face and then the backside of his other elbow as he came around. He followed the two strikes up with a barrage of jabs that he capped off with a harder cross to the face. With a little push he backed away from the close encounter again and stood with his legs spread.

"It seems that as much as I've improved, you've doubled my progress... You gotta tell me your secret," the namekian called with a wry smile.

What his secret was? It was genetics and hard work. Such was life in this universe, not all had a predisposition to greatness though. Cell smirked, then again, this Namekian was no slouch. He was strong in his own right and while he had been engineered for accelerated growth normal races and mortals such as Trumpet grew at their own speed and their own predestined rate. His growth factor seemed above normal for one of lesser means compared to the Bio Android. It was rather commendable he thought as he shrugged off the latest volley from his opponent.

“It is simply a matter of design and providence my good Namekian.” Cell smiled, his blood thirsty demeanor did not exist in this state as it did in his previous. That was not to say it did not exist, it was just more practical and easier to control. He remembered wanting to tear this being in front of him apart. And while in this place it was not going to be possible the thought still intrigued him. He would probably be better used as a contact though in the world of the living. Yes, the road to perfection would be a long one. Power was so much more then just a new form or increased destructive force, for that you needed at least a modicum of people on your side.

“You on the other hand have done well…the Namekian race does not normally garner power so quickly…truly impressive.” Cell moved from his fighter posture and cracked his neck. The time in this world was soon coming to a close, their brief exchange was all they were going to have.

“Find me in the world of the living Namekian, just follow the screams.”

And with that Cell’s eyes opened, his ships AI hologram looking at him as he rose from the astral realm.

“Download the information from my encounter, I want to know when this one is near.”
