As Cooler was laying down for the evening in his quarters on Yaidrat, a strange feeling came over him. He couldn’t quite determine what it was, but it felt significant. With a groan, he rolled over and tried to ignore it. He was exhausted from the day’s efforts and he needed every bit of rest he could get in order to maximize the time he had left with the Elders. He closed his eyes… and they shot open again. ”It can’t be…”

The feeling was the same feeling that he had when Black had fallen out of that strange rift but slightly different. Perhaps it was his proximity to that event that made him more sensitive to this one, but if it was indeed the same then it was something from a different universe. Entering a meditative state, he tried to get a better sense of the power and he actually shuddered. ”No… It’s not possible. Father?”

Reaching out with his mind, he entered into the astral realm and sent a summons to the being that felt like his father: King Cold himself. The realm formed into an image of the Cold Clan’s palace back on Planet Frieza. He would wait until his call was answered, but his mind was racing with possibilities. His father hadn’t been seen or heard from in quite a long time. Most people, Cooler included, figured him to be dead. If he was still alive… but no. The feeling was definitely that of another universe, so perhaps if it was indeed King Cold, it was a version of his father from a different universe.

At any rate, the last time he had seen his father had been here in this throne room. Cooler had always been even more proficient with his transformations than his father was, but Cold had still been much stronger than him. He was one of the few people who had seriously harmed Cooler when he was growing up. Now, however, Cooler had grown in both strength and experience. He refused to cower before the King like he used to.

Though not ideal, the leader of the Cold Clan had used his subordinates to fashion himself a throne out of nearby natural materials. In truth, it wasn't a half-bad effort, considering the tools they possessed and the fact that they were limited purely to wood and rocks from the current terrain. And there the King sat, underneath the bright blue sky, the midday sun blazing down upon them.

The horned Changeling had not long arrived on a planet known as Earth, a relatively weak planet he'd had his soldiers conquer in his own Universe, and sold for somewhat of a mediocre price. His decision to come here was not completely his own. The Changeling's underlings had suggested that Earth currently possessed the greatest number of above average warriors - a good starting place for recruiting and rebuilding his Empire.

Despite being deep in thought, the Frost Demon felt a familiar vibration on the arm of his chair. Picking it up, King Cold examined the gem he'd discovered on the Planet Vegeta, an odd artifact capable of transporting him to another realm. Once again, the jewel glowed a crimson red, engulfing him within the light and warping the world around him.

The landscape was vastly different from his previous trip to this dimension. The familiar setting of a palace surrounded the King. For a moment, Cold could swear he'd been summoned back to his own Universe, but the setting wasn't quite right. Small changes adorned the Palace Hall, of which he was not used to. As he gazed upon the Grand landscape before him, the King finally laid eyes on whom he was here to meet.

Cold could scarcely believe his eyes, his son stood before him, brazen as ever. Cooler, his oldest son, was a powerful warrior. Neither of his two sons had reached the dizzying heights of the King, but both were well on their way to greatness, and he could only hope that the two of them were collectively continuing to run his Empire in his absence.

"Well, well, young Prince," The King began, a sly smirk growing across his face. "It would appear as though you've seen a ghost,"

At the sound of his father's voice, Cooler snapped out of the stupor he was in. "Father," he said, struggling to keep his voice steady. It was an apt comparison though, it felt a lot like he was indeed seeing a ghost.

"Nobody has heard from you in years. Everyone thought that you were dead." A flood of emotions crashed through the prince. Betrayal at being abandoned, relief that his father was still alive, hope for the future of their clan... But everything stopped almost as soon as it had begun.

He had almost forgotten the reason that he had come to investigate in the first place. The fact that he had felt that strange otherworldly energy told him this being didn't merit any of those feelings. "But you're not actually my father, are you? I felt your arrival here and it felt similar to another arrival from another universe." Cooler was mainly curious as to what this King Cold was doing here. It could theoretically be possible that it was his father who had somehow harnessed this universe-transcending power. If that were the case, however, he would have to be much more powerful than the strength he appeared to have now.

There was also the difference in the strange phenomenon that he had sensed. While Black had arrived from what appeared to be a wormhole that was only sealed through a great amount of effort of him and others, this one seemed much more sudden and natural. What could that mean?
