Soul and Val walked toward the training center from the bridge as the Hybrid showed her around the ship, his thoughts along the line of; If she's going to be with me, at least to Kelioux, and at the bare minimum of being my student and being in my care, she needs to learn the ship's layout and what everything does.
The door that led into the TC broke apart into thirds and sank into the sides of the doorway with a light hiss of air to reveal what was inside of it, and just how much of the ship was taken up by the center. Most of the floors were padded with a light but airy foam padding, and the training center itself was broken into several quadrants; each with plenty of room and separated into their individual tasks and workout regimens. He pointed and explained; "This is the training center where one can either improve their muscles or their ki usage, or if one is strong or ballsy enough; attempt a gauntlet against simulated AI holograms or even try their hand at gravity training."
The Hybrid motioned toward the first quadrant, which was filled with high-tech treadmills and a variety of machines similar to a leg press and continued; "Over there is the area dedicated to improving "leg or stamina day," as one might call it, and there would be for either arms or one's core." He motioned to the next that held a variety of arm presses, dumbbells, a bench press, and things of the nature.
Then, he pointed to a closed off, highly secure and extremely fortified antechamber in the center of the room; "That, right there, is the gravity chamber. If my memory is correct, which it should be, the minimum increase in gravity simulated like Earth's would be close to uh...what was it, fifty times, Spark?"
The tail end of the question was asked into the air and almost immediately answered by a glowing nebula of energy that crackled as it appeared and floated in midair; "That is correct, Master Soul. Would you like me to deny access to Val so an accident doesn't occur? If she were to turn it on, her musculature indicates that she would die a most gruesome death right now, at least until she strengthens her body with Ki and workout regimens."
Soul turned to Val and rose an eyebrow in question, as if to ask 'is that necessary?'

Soul's ship was huge. The sheer size blew her mind. The blond decided to show her around the ship; which she was grateful for. She felt like she could get lost trying to explore this area on her own. He led her through the bridge down to a rather large door that was broken into three triangular parts. As it opened the two outside pieces slid into the wall and the third receded into the ceiling. "Woah-- Sci-fi-y," she stared in awe.
He led the way explaining the training center and how it was broken up into different parts to work on different parts of the body. He showed her the equipment and explained that she could train with AI partners. It looked like a gym for the most part but the AI holograms caught her interest. That was something different than the typical equipment at a normal gym.
He directed her to the middle of the room where a huge chamber stood. He explained that it was a gravity chamber that put out a lot more force than she would be usefully, before he spoke to the air. A nebula of light crackled into existence to answer his question. That must be Spark.
"Woah, that is amazing. How does Spark work?" she stared at Spark as she moved around the nebula trying find the source of the projection. She had no such luck though. Spark seemed to be a floating projection with no source, yet another thing to boggle her mind today.
She laughed at Sparks question. "I mean could you blame me after just the partial shit you have seen me go through?" she looked at him as she let the joke hang in the air a moment. She sighed, "No. I will not go in the gravity chamber-thingy. Cross my heart and hope to die," she said rolling her eyes as she drew and 'X' across her chest.

"Spark is a smart A.I, meaning that he's an artificial intelligence that can keep learning and getting smarter, much like how Ki-cultivators can keep getting stronger, y'know? He has plenty of sensors and holographic markers around the ship that can beam his appearance to, and if he so chooses to, or is requested; or if that there is no such way to project himself, he can also use the countless speakers throughout the ship. He can also beam direct soundwaves to one's location so that they can only hear it, if they lack the technology for him to speak to them via an ear piece or similar type of communication. His appearance is one that he chooses, and he was actually my tutor, when he used to be...my parents." Soul explained, first animated, only to end it dejectedly with his eyes downcast. He had turned away from Val at the end of the of it, so she didn't see the emotion that tore his mask away that he used to hide his emotions, but he wasn't so successful in keeping it out of his voice.
He did, however, clear his face of it before he turned around at her casual suicidal joke, and decided to deadpan glance at her in confusion; "No, I wouldn't, but you would only let whoever has done whatever to you win if you take the cowards way out. Plus, honestly, I would rather choose a different way than a slow death by asphyxiation and the slow crush and pulverization of one's bones and muscles. Your organs would slowly burst and be pushed out your orifices, and it would probably be one of the messiest and most painful deaths than most that I can imagine."
The blond grinned at Val and motioned toward the center; "Anything you'd like to see in action, or try out? I can always show you how to use things, or if you don't believe me about the enhanced gravity, you can always watch. Worse to worse, I can show you other parts of the ship as well if we are done here."

The young girl listened as Soul explained how Spark worked, but her eyes were on Spark. His explanation made sense. He seemed proud of the device until the tail end of that discussion. "I'm so sorry," she looked to Soul, but he had turned away. She could hear the sorrow in his voice. When he turned back, he had composed himself and turned her joke into a serious warning. The chamber would be an awful way to die and he made that very clear for her. She made a disgusted face at the description but moved past that image. That was not something she really wanted to dwell on.
Val looked around as if debating his question, but she already knew what she wanted to see in action. "I mean if you wanna show me how the gravity chamber works that would be cool. Um why is it set for a standard so high to begin with though?" her face a little distorted from the confusing thought. She shook it off and continued with what had really captured her interest. "Actually what sounded really awesome is the hologram training. Is it like 3D training videos or can you actual fight and train with an A.I.?" her face lit up at the idea of being able to actually train instead of punching at the air and pretending to dodge someones attack. It seems to play out nicely when it's all imaginary. The possibility of having someone to train with and keep her on her toes excited her.

Soul shrugged her comment away, not because he didn't appreciate it, but because now wasn't the time to dwell on it. That could be later, for when he was alone and behind soundproofed doors. He did nod to her next hint at the fact that she wanted to see the gravity chamber, and the AI course as well. "Simple, for the fact that a higher gravitron can't have a lower base gravity that turns it on. It only has so much data and magnets and things of the sort to increase gravity, and the more magnets and data means more drain and an ever bigger space. So, fifty is the lowest it can go, while eighty-five is the highest, without upgrades of course. With a titan gravitron, also known as the biggest and best, it can go best two hundred. I want it but I don't have the money, but I'll show you both real quick," Soul bemoaned.
Then, he slowly made his way to the gravitron as he pulled off and neatly folded his shirt to leave him bare chested. The pants could stay for two reasons, one they weren't too baggy to get destroyed, and two Val was in the room. That set aside, he palmed the door's sensor which opened up easily to show several smaller and single versions of what was outside to better workout under the gravity as well. He pointed to the viewport, a small, trapazoid reinforced glass barrier, then stepped inside and closed the door before he worked his way to the center of the room. A series of button layouts and screens faced him, and he hummed quietly to himself as he keyed both the password and command sequence; rotated the dial to eighty-five times, then hit Engage.
The room instantly turned red as the machine began to start up, the gentle thrum of it building to a steady whine before it blew through their sound range. Soul walked over to his side of the glass and knocked on it, the gentle thud of his knuckle barely audible with the reinforcements.
Then, the gravity began to increase, a negligible pressure at first, only to build steadily as he stood there with his hands in his pockets, nonchalant and steady under the force. As soon as it started to reach its max, he frowned and coiled his tail around his body and jumped to the top of the chamber, only to fall and hit the ground faster that she could probably see. However, the impact of his body weight which was now over six and a half tonnes, and when his legs hit the deck, it shook the training center by a small amount. His legs sank, he strained, and stood to grin at her, his hair once normally spiked and unruly now sank close to his scalp. He could walk around and do things normally under this amount of pressure, but a move like that wasn't smart unless he used Ki to strengthen his muscles.
He poked his neck and looked at the camera above him, the signal to talk to the outside and spoke; "It's not so bad once you get used to it, but this is similar to the walk in the park for me. Any questions?"

The Sayian decided to show her the gravitron first. He made his way over to the chamber and removed his shirt. It left the orange-haired girl shocked. Her eyes widened as she took in the man in front of her. Um, wow. That shirt really does hide a lot. But, he eats so much. How is he so slim and toned? Even the back muscles are defined. Holy Hell! Her eyes tried to take all of him in as he stepped in the chamber. She watched him closely from the trapezoid view port he had pointed out to her. The chamber hummed, growing higher in pitch until it was no longer audible. He tapped on the glass to get the already attentive Val's attention. She couldn't peel her eyes away from the bare chested man if she tried. She watched as he leapt toward the top of the chamber before he flashed back down to the floor. He landed so hard on his feet that the center shook. "Wow," she mouthed. She smiled back at Soul.
She tried to compose herself before answering his question with her own. "Um, are you okay? That shook out here," she gestured with her hand to the room itself. "I hope that wasn't painful," she grimaced; the concern in her voice was prominent to say the least. She waited for him to say or show he was okay before she continued with her thought process. She didn't know what she could do if he wasn't, but she wasn't going to let him be in pain while in the chamber. "How long can you stay in there at a time? I'm assuming that the gravity would start to put a strain on you eventually. Also do you feel really light when you come back out? I have a feeling that each step is almost like bouncing after that much weight is taken off of you," she giggled lightly at the idea of him bouncing with each step and at the idea of how his now matted hair would flop when he took each step.

Soul cocked his head at her expression, doing his best to play dumb but he figured that the "wow" that he thought he saw her mouth was a mixture of his impact and how he looked. He glanced down at his lean physique in thought and pondered; I suppose she hasn't really seen anyone that's been friendly and eats like I do, yet doesn't look like a bodybuilder. It's probably one constant surprise after another for her, and I kinda feel bad, but I bet she didn't think I looked like this. I do hide everything with baggy clothing after all.
He glanced up at her again and answered; "Well, honestly, I felt that a bit. However, if you strengthen your muscles with Ki before impact, especially in fighting, it can take the edge off and pad most of the damage. As for in here, I think I can do a few hours at a time before I need to rest, but yeah; I walk out and it's like there's no gravity. You get so used to fighting this that when you go to take a step, or just walk, you end up putting more strength into it for a bit. I've had to repair the center a few times until I got used to it, and even then, I find it easier just to crawl out and lay down until my body relaxes."
He did a front flip and landed on his hands, his face close to the ground before he then slowly breathed out and extended his arms. He rose in a steady climb, not to fast and not to slow so not to fall, and then began to pump away in a handstand workout. Part of it was to show off, but the other part was to show that enhanced gravity was no joke. He kept up the rhythm and then craned his neck to view an upside down Val and asked; "So, what next? Do I continue this or would you like to see the AI course?"

"Oh no the poor equipment. I could see you breaking this equipment accidentally on a bad day or any day actually. This all looks like regular equipment from a standard gym. How do you actually use this stuff? I feel like it would all be too light for you," she tore her eyes away from him to look around the room at all the equipment. "I mean the stuff other than this," she gestured to the chamber, "and the A.I. all seem to look like normal equipment," the confusion was clear on her face as she turned her focus back to him. She waited for his explanation.
She watch as his muscles, his whole body actually, tensed while he flipped into a handstand and slowly straighten his arms out. He then did push ups while he was still in the handstand. "Show off," she called to him as she laughed. She teased him, but her heart beat a little faster as she watched him work out. Who knew exercise could be so fun? She subconsciously started biting her lip as she watched him. She watched as he continued his exercise, mesmerized by the way his muscles rippled with the movement.
He asked her a question. She took a second to snap out of the trance she was under while watching him. "Um, what? Oh," red flooded her cheeks as her brain tried to process what he asked. "Oh, um... that's up to you. If you wanna keep being a show off," she shrugged her shoulders and stuck her tongue out. She could still feel her cheeks burning, but she hoped he missed it. "Otherwise, there is some A.I. equipment waiting for us," she tried to give a big smile, but the red was so bright on her face that it clashed against her sunset orange hair that was strewn with streaks of purple.

Soul nodded once to her question, partially surprised at it but also glad that she had asked, for it was time to simultaneously blow her mind and show off once more. He continued his push-ups through the pressure and answered; "Typically, standard equipment won't do much with our strengths, even if we didn't enforce our muscles with Ki. However, do to what you would call "future" technology, the weights have been extremely reinforced and supplemented with what is called a gravity amplifier. So, just like how the Gravitron increases the weight of what's inside it, those gravity amplifiers increases the weight of those machines or the weights themselves."
Soul took a deep breath and tensed, then pushed off of the ground forcefully and twisted, the motion barely enough to put him upright to land on his two feet. He wiped his brow of the sweat that had sprouted from his minute or so workout and grinned at Val, only to cock an eyebrow at the blush that was all over the naive girl's face. He slowly stretched in front of her, then spun around and made his way over to the machine. A second later, the Gravitron powered down and the Hybrid exited the machine, only to pause for a few seconds right on the doorway. He went through a cycle of tensing and untensing his muscles, this time not to get a rise out of his student, but to prepare his body for the sudden lack of pressure.
After a few seconds, he took a gentle step and nearly bounded forward, then held out his hands to steady himself and began again. All in all, it took only about a minute to reorient himself to Earth's gravity, and then he made his way to the AI station. He turned to Val, snagged a strange "suit' that was really just a body harness with small nodes dotted across the surface; and spoke; "This harness does a variety of things, but it can easily be split into two features; the first, determines your physical capability, while the second helps determine the "damage" you take from attacks. If you step toward that doorway," he motioned toward the right door of the wall in front of him and continued; "and enter that room, you can see the battlefield that will be sure to form, along with my specs and any other details about the training simulator."
He strode toward the left door in the wall that fell away to reveal a white, barren room that took up several hundred feet in each direction; quickly donned the suit, then activated it with a pulse of Ki. Spark appeared next to him and seemed to 'study' him as the AI swirled around Soul's body, then faded from view before the would around him began to change. The door closed behind him with a hiss of air, and the room grew dark, then seemed to explode in a myriad of colors. The room hummed with energy, protected and dense beneath his feet.
"Initializing standard battle test," Spark's voice rang out in the shifting colors, only for them to suddenly solidify as 'columns' and 'buildings' seemed to rise from the ground or fade into existence. In the matter of seconds, a city block had formed, except it grew sporadic with several scars of battle in the forms of craters, or even destroyed walls or upturned vehicles. All made out of dense, holographic projections that looked and seemed almost real.
Soul stood, his head on a swivel to take in the environment and anything else that could appear, only to see a glint in the upper right hand window of a two-story, dystopian house. His head snapped back to dodge a narrow bullet of energy, and simultaneously raised an arm with the palm extended to fire a bolt of his own energy back. The ground behind him exploded from the hostile Ki, yet it was negligible compared to the absolute destruction that rippled across and atomized that section of the block.
The diode on his neck sparked, and he hissed in pain as a narrow line of 'blood' seemed to appear on his face.
"Pause simulation, Spark. Val, how do you like it? Any questions?"

He had started to answer her questions, but it wasn't easy to focus as he continued his work out. Her attention was split between what she was seeing and what he was saying. Her eyes were winning, but she understood the gist of what he had said about the equipment being similar to the gravatron. It was advanced technology, at least in comparison to Earth. She watched as he carefully and meticulously lowered himself from his handstand back into a standing potion. She hoped he hadn't seen her blush as the blond smiled at her. Gog, today is one of those days where I should have worn my hair down. Then I could hide the burning feeling that is my face, but of course, I decided to where it up because I was walking. Ahhhhh! Her thought process was cut short as Soul stretched, causing her focus to then move back to him instead of her internal panic.
Alright take a breath. He is coming back out here, so please stop making a fool of yourself. You are being ridiculous. It's a crush at best. You are a tiny child in his eyes, so STOP! She took a slow steady breath as he came to the edge of the open chamber door and showed off again as he stretched before taking a step. The first step sent him flying forward; she stepped forward to help him, but he caught his balance at the same moment. She quietly took the step back to where she had been before. "Are you okay?"
He didn't bother grabbing his shirt but instead led the way toward the A.I. equipment. God damn it. Couldn't make this simple could you. Have to keep me distracted this whole walk through? I mean the eye candy is nice, but it would be nice to be able to focus on the words coming out of your mouth too. Fuck it. It will be fine. I can do this. I will focus. After grabbing a harness that he explained was to help with the simulation, he pointed her to one door and he entered the other. From this room, Val could see both from Soul's perspectives and from a perspective that she assumed was one of Spark's cameras. The room she was in also had monitors to monitor damage, his heart rate, and some other things that were unclear to her.
The room he was in was completely empty, like a blank piece of paper. Spark appear next to him silent for a moment before he announced the battle test was to begin. Buildings and other signs of a ruined city began to materialize around him. Soul seemed to become more like the man she met in the alley. He seemed more like the hunter he had been when he saved her from the men who tried to take advantage if an innocent, lost girl. The monitor showed his heart rate quicken as his predatory instincts kicked in. It made the orange haired woman both a little unsettled and slightly excited at the same time. Her eyes barely kept up with what happened as something flew passed his face, and he fired some of his own Ki back from where it came. A trickle of blood appeared across his cheek. She reached for her own as if wiping her face would take care of the bit on his face. He paused the simulation to ask her opinion.
I have no idea if he will answer me or just to Soul. Worth a shot I guess. She spoke to the air in a quieted whisper, "um Spark, can he hear me or is there a button I press so I can answer him? What do I do here?"
"I will relay what you'd like to say, but for the future Ms. Val, there is a green button about three steps to your left that will open up the comms."
"Thank you, Spark," she smiled brightly. Thank God that worked. A slight panicked tone led her voice to be slightly higher in pitch, "are you okay? You keep getting hurt showing me all your fancy high tech equipment. I don't have medical experience on humans. I certainly don't have that kind of training for Saiyans. Please be careful," her words sounding like a worried mother. "Maybe it's time to call it on the training for a bit. I bet there are plenty of other parts of the ship you could show me," the concern has dropped from her voice to be replaced by a more joyful tone.
