Joseph was outside Kame house, the home of the legendary Hermit Master Roshi. The turtle hermit stood outside with him as well, master and student faced each other with their arms extended. The back of each of Joseph's wrist in between Roshi's hands held to the side of Master Roshi's wrist. They held their feet planted firmly at the ground as they looked forward pensively.
Master Roshi initiated the motions in this position, shifting his hands to the side as they moved counter clockwise motioning in a semi-circle, the Demi-Earthling mimicked this motion to flow with the master's hand movements. Roshi curled the fingers of his right hand around Joseph wrist, before sending his opposite hand forward in a vertical shot, Joseph feeling the master's brush against his forward prompted his hand to move to the side having his open palm sending the fist off to the side, as he had that hand curl around to touch Roshi's wrist and shoot his own hand forward as the master, Roshi swayed that hand away with an open palm.
The two continued to stand in place as their hands interacted, going back and fourth in with the hands touching and moving in clockwise and counter clockwise motions. The exercise went on like this with occasional instances of one grabbing the others wrist to facilitate a linear shot with a free hand just to be stopped by the other.

Cauli walked outside Kame house, having spent quite a bit of time here in recent weeks. She had become somewhat accustomed to the lecherous master but knew better than to allow herself to be in a one on one situation. She wasn’t sure the other students would appreciate it if she murdered their master in his sleep because he assaulted her. She needn’t have concerned herself about him, for Roshi was engaged in a one-on-one lesson with Goku’s friend, Joe. The humanoid had asked Cauli to join he and Goku in the Black Panther Party and she had agreed to do so. She was alone in this universe and it never hurt to have an ally at your back. Her crew back on Sadala were a perfect example of this. The monarch couldn’t even come into their territory without an invitation.
As she watched the duo train, it looked like they were just holding hands. She could see a certain amount of purpose to it, but it didn’t seem all that relevant to her. She wasn’t a finesse fighter. Previously she had used brute strength and her inner energy that had been honed to form energy constructs that were damaging to her foes. In the short time that she had been here, Cauli had noted that some fighters honed their craft using weapons. While she wasn’t sure whether or not that was something that would interest her in the long term she was interested in trying a couple of different weapons to see how they suited her preferred fighting style.

As the exercise went on Roshi's motions were becoming more dominant. The Demi-Earthling found it harder to flow with the shifts of the master's hands to keep the stability of his hands making harder to hold his postions and counter the master's motions.
Roshi eventually managed to pin one of Joseph's hands down before sending a closed vertical hand at the Demi-Earthling to simulate a shot that would have been successful had he committed to it. They went back to the interactions of the hands roating as the wrist touched each others the tempo rising before the master yet again overtook the boy in the exercise, tapping him with a flurry of rolling vertical shots and sweeping the child by his leg before feinting another shot to show how he could have struck the boy while he was in a vulnerable prone position.
"Eheheh, you've managed stay stable for longer and your responses have sharpened. I can tell that much, but you still hesitate." The old master turned around and looked at Cauli had had been watching briefly. He smiled at her unable to help but show his appreciation for a shaply woman figure. "Oh hello Cauli, we have just finished doing the Chi-Sao exercise. Its an exercise in the martial art Wing Chun meant to hone awareness through feeling of touch and sharpen reaction. Since you're here how about you and I partake in this exercise?" The master sounded a brief chuckle at the thought of doing the exercise with his attractive woman students and the prospects it could hold.

As Cauli watched, she could see that Master Roshi was a much more advanced practitioner of the kata than Joe. While he clearly respected his student’s abilities, he overwhelmed him slowly but surely until Joe was vulnerable enough to have his legs swept. The drill looked… interesting to say the least. Subtlety and flow drills were not Cauli’s style. She didn’t see the sense in playing handsies when she could just as soon beat on her opponent in a practice fight. It was the best way for a Saiyan to get stronger.
Cauli shook her head in response to his offer of conducting the exercise, “no thanks. Thought I wouldn’t mind sparring with Joe, since based on your offer I am assuming the two of you are finished.”
She hoped down the stairs and strode over to the duo. She bowed to both, demonstrative respect that she had a lot of for Joe and very little of for the venerable master. While she understood that he was a skilled martial artist, she couldn’t get past his very clear flaws regarding women. Cauli had heard rumours that there were other martial arts masters on the planet and was looking forward to striking out to train with them as soon as possible.

"Very well," Roshi said simply. He was somewhat disappointed at Cauli turning down the offer, he had been hoping it would give him a chance to get some good feels of her during it, he'd have to seek out the prospect of such later. In the mean time he could enjoy the internet access provided by Jurturna and feeling up EP-3 whenever she came around.
"Alright then, you two can spar. Begin whenever you two are ready." The master sat down on the second to last step of his house. Joseph returned a bow to the full blooded Saiyan before taking a couple of steps back to prepare for the sparring match. Joseph placed his right leg behind his left placing his weight on his left foot and then rose his arms up. He held his left forearm up with the fingers facing up and slightly curled and extended it towards her. The right hand was held closer to his body near the bend of his arm, the hand held sideways. "Ready when you are."

Predictably the master creep’s face was plastered with disappointment at her rejection of his thinly veiled advance. It didn’t last long – probably because there were literally millions of others for him to creep on. Master Roshi seemed to think that getting a girl worked on the law of averages. If you had a one in a hundred chance of getting a girl, then all you needed to do was ask a hundred girls. With that kind of attitude, she gave him more of a one in a thousand chance but didn’t doubt that there would be someone willing to go for it. She had neglected to mention anything regarding the courtship customs from her planet. It was funny, really, because someone with his sort of martial skill would not have any sort of trouble landing a woman on Sadala.
Joe stood still, ready to receive her first gift and seeing him standing there all steadfast and ready gave Cauli an idea.
“First hit wins,” she said. Without waiting for him to agree, she rushed in to deliver just that. Half of the distance to him, she cocked her arm back. The haymaker would make his ancestors’ brains rattle if it connected but fortunately for them it was just a feint. Cauli fired the punch overhand and used it as a fulcrum to rotate her body at the hips into a flip that would bring her heel down on top of his head. She followed up that initial strike with an attempt to tackle the boy to the ground.
