Once again the Arlians gather around the great arena as they watch another fight. This time, however, they root for pretty purple haired one (the Queen's words,) Can Yakumo make them sing a different tune? We'll find out.
Trunks has 24 from now to get a post up or their claim is forfeit. This must be declared by the opposing forces in OS Chat to be valid.
A reminder of the rules are below:
- They will be 2v2, max. (When you begin your claim, you must name your +1. Any challengers must also name their +1 in their sneak post) - They are No Kill/Steal (if you lose, your character will be overrun by enemy forces, and you'll have to escape the planet. This doesn't require anything special from you, its just an IC excuse to end the battle) - Win Conditions: When the average damage of a side in battle reaches 50%, that side loses. If the battle reaches the end of Round 3 (standard 3 posts each per round), then the Fallen Forces lose. - Everyone will receive 4 actions per post (there is no speed action/tactician/etc). Stuns/DZ/similar techs will still work. - There is no healing of any kind. (There may be exceptions, but we'll tell you when the time comes) - Each combatant may bring in 3 prepped items. - Finishers are unusable. - In the interest of keeping this phase moving along, the 24 and 48 hour rules WILL be in affect. - Anyone that loses a battle must heal for 7 days before they may participate further.
He was there now as the defender of the forces he had tried to repel, the defender of soldiers that he had originally thought he had no common cause with. But, after seeing what they had done to Arlia, he found that perhaps he had been wrong about who the good guys were.
The Fallen were ruthless, that much was for certain. They didn’t hesitate to take what they needed, and enforce law and order as strictly as necessary. But they also guided the leaders of Arlia into becoming vassals, spread prosperity to the poorer classes of Arlian society, and even offered the young Arlians a way out through joining the army.
And then the Kais had sent their champion.
Trunks’ fingers ran slowly down the hilt of the blade strapped across his back. He had fought on the side of the Kais not so long ago, and had fled when news of his Mother had reached him - it was then that he had moved to fight for the Fallen, and it had led him here.
He let out a sigh as he stepped out of the underground rooms where to Arlian gladiators prepared. His opponent was already here, it seemed - good. The crowd let out a roar as Trunks walked out, rolling his shoulders to loosen them. He had discarded the blue capsule corp jacket that he had been wearing, instead opting for a black tank top that he tucked in to his regular black trousers.
The crowd quietened, and Trunks was ready.
“Solar Flare!” he roared, trying to get the jump on his opponent before making introductions. The bright red sun of Arlia flashed through Trunks’ splayed fingers, held up next to his head, and focussed directly at his opponent in the centre of the Arena.
Not wasting a second, he pushed off from the ground in a cloud of dust and hurtled at his opponent, aura flaring around him. His eyes flashed as power coursed through his veins, and he lowered his head and aimed it straight at his opponent’s chest.
He hurtled past his opponent after the first attack before turning around and launching the same attack from behind. Three times he attacked, and then he skidded to a stop across the dusty surface of the arena. Panting heavily, he straightened up and got a good look at his opponent for the first time.
“You’re just a kid?” he said, half a question and half a statement. He shook his head slowly, reaching up and pulling his blade free from its scabbard. The metal dazzled in the red sun, reflecting from the highly polished surface of the sword. “It was a mistake to come here - but you’ll be leaving soon enough.”
A frown came over Trunks’ face as his opponent stayed still, not reacting to his actions. For a second he wondered if he had simply imagined it, but the air fizzling with latent ki energy told him that he had indeed done as he had expected.
He twirled his sword in his hand once, experimentally, testing if his opponent would leap into action when he thought his opponent’s guard was down. When nothing came of it, his grip tightened on the hilt of his sword. If this was a test, he intended to make sure that the forces on this planet learned never to test him again.
The ground beneath him indented beneath his boot as he kicked himself forwards, hurtling over the red sands with his sword held high. He brought it down in a huge arc towards the top of his opponent’s head, muscles bulging beneath the skin on his arms. He let out the breath he had been holding before pulling the sword back upwards in a diagonal across the boy’s body, intent on slicing him limb from limb. Fatigue started to grip him, but he pushed it away as his sword moved as a blur, slashing seven times at the boy’s body in quick succession.
But his assault didn’t stop there. He dashed to the side, moving in a circle around his opponent, his sword moving all the while. Stab, slash, stab, slash, he made his way around the boy several times before coming to a steady stop several feet in front of him, breath heavy.
“Maybe now…” he said, his words interlaced with a heavy pant. “You’ll start to pay attention.”
