She rambled as her new friend nodded along with what she was saying. She tried to keep it short. She just needed to say it out loud. She needed to feel like it wasn't all some secret to hide. Her life was turned upside down and all she had for company was a man she just met and an A.I. on his ship heading to a planet she never knew existed. She didn't know what to do or how to act. She was confused and just needed to purge the turmoil of emotions for just a moment.
The pink haired girl pulled her in for a hug after she apologized. The emotion filled woman let herself be weak for just a moment. The contact was enough to calm her down. She let out a heavy sigh of relief. She needed this. She didn't know what she would find here, but she found what she needed. "Thank you," she squeezed Kari in the hug before she pulled away. She gave a small but friendly smile.
"We can't always understand what each person is going through, but thank you fo-- wait. What? Did you say you were made in a lab? Like you were made in a Petri dish?" The confusion written on her face in bold letters. "I'm so sorry. That sounds really insensitive. It's been a long month... Or has it been longer than that. Sorry. I digress. I do really apologize. That's not my business to pry in to."

A friend, that's usually what anyone ever needed. There was a wise legend that the pink-haired woman didn't know much about that pertained to his heritage. It was said that her kind would reproduce in pairs so that they would never feel like they were alone in the world. She knew that her sister had other things to do obviously, but that legend didn't seem to be accurate.
"You don't have to apologize," she said, "I don't even understand how I was made. All I know is that my parents were partners or part of some group. They then reunited and I was made in a test tube at the age that I am now."
Right after she said that, she wondered herself. Did that mean she wouldn't age? Would she experience a normal life? She also wondered if there was more to that story, but her father refused to tell her a lot of things. She felt like he was hiding something to protect her. It drove her made at that thought, causing her to puff.
"I wish that I knew more about that but my dad won't tell me," she said, "I also don't even know what he's doing right now, but he calls himself the Avatar of War, whatever that means. He's probably fighting in some kind of War or who knows what he's doing."

"Avatar of war? I've never heard of it, but it sounds like an intimidation tactic to me," she shrugged off the thought. She didn't have much to offer on the subject. She looked down at all the flowers. "You know, I recognize most of these flowers. There are a few unfamiliar, but there is one flower in particular that I don't see. It is a little disappointing actually. My sunflowers. They aren't here in the garden. It would have been cool to see how this place would have changed them. Maybe they would be a blue. That would be interesting to see. Oh well," she let out a light sigh and looked over the garden again.
She wasn't really good at small talk, especially when she didn't expect company. She knew nothing about this girl and every question seemed to leave her with more questions than answers. She figured she needed to move to a different topic for now. Maybe come back to the more confusing topics later. "So, what is your favorite flower? Is it here?" She gestured to the garden and smiled.

It was a title that not even she knew about, part of her didn't even think the man known as her father had any idea what it was either. She was honestly convinced that he just says that because of how 'cool' it sounds. The pink-haired woman then noticed as her new friend mentioned a change of subject to flowers. She wanted to act like she knew anything about plant life, but she didn't. It was like a new subject for her.
A question was then asked, about whether or not if she had her own favorite. She frown a little and leaned down to get a closer look. To her, they just seemed like ordinary plants that she would see outside. She didn't see how they could be different in any way enough for her to choose one.
"I guess I would have to say this one," she said as she looked at a pure dazzling blue flower.
It was so blue that it appeared almost as if it was glowing, showing off light if you were to cup your hands around it. Kari immediately stopped what she was doing the moment she saw it. It matched the color of her eyes and she didn't understand why, but she liked that color. Maybe it reminded her of someone.
"Oh I'm sorry I zoned out," she apologized, "Do you have a favorite one?"

She watched as Kari pointed out one of the few that didn't belong to her garden. "That one is pretty," Val smiled at her. Val took another look around. "I wish the sunflowers were here, but... hmm... out of the ones here, I would have to say... these ones." She pointed to a light blue tea cup flower. The colors of her plants were all wrong, but she had no clue as to why. She bent down to pick one. "It's a daffodil. Although, I'm not sure why it's blue," she looked down at it curiously. "I think I like this better than the yellow anyway," She smiled as she held the flower out for the girl in front of her. "Here," she smiled. "What do you think?"

It was pretty, as silly as the little plan seemed to her at first, it made her realize something. Throughout all her training, and fighting to become better than her father, there were things that she didn't do. She didn't pause in to take the little things in. She didn't stop to smell the roses. Maybe she lived the way she did because of what Walid wanted out of her, she didn't know what she truly liked.
That made her come to a stop because she... didn't have her own identity yet. There was nothing special about her, she was just a shadow of her father. Maybe she needed to set out on a journey of her own to learn what she did like or didn't like. Before she could process her thoughts more, the smell from the flower started to make her nose twitch and made her sneeze.
"Oops," she said, "Sorry, I'm not used to these things."
She kind of wondered if she should explain herself a little more to her new friend. Kari got worried that not saying anything would make her feel insulted.
"I haven't really figured out yet in my life what I should do, or what I should like, or anything," she went on, "I've just always done whatever my father does and he... well... he likes fighting and war."

"Don't feel bad for sneezing," the orange haired girl giggled. "As for what you should like, that's up to you. It's all relative and you can like whatever you want. If you like war and fighting, that's great, but if you only like it because that's what you know, then you need to branch out. Paint a picture, sing, dance, find a hobby of some kind. Life is only worth living if you find something worth living for. Otherwise it's a mind numbing cycle that leaves you empty. Trust me, I know," she frowned and sighed before she continued.
"That's what this place was for me," she gestured to the garden. "This was my safe space, my reason for living. It may sound dumb, but this place, or well what this place is based off of, is the reason I'm still breathing," she looked up at Kari. "Sorry if that was a little too intense," she whispered before her eyes fell to her feet again.

"Hm" the pink-haired girl hummed as she listened to what her new friend had to say.
Maybe that's what the astral realm was. It wasn't a place where people were pulled from unexpected, or at least in her opinion. What if it was their mind seeking a place away from their daily lives? A place like your very own 'happy place'. She could hardly call any of the other places she had been to hers, but that didn't mean that they weren't a happy place for the ones she went there with.
"That's not dumb," she replied back, "Whatever you like is up to you. Your safe place should be whatever you like, "I'm just unfortunate to be the one to not have a place like that just yet."
It was true, she didn't have one that she could just 'call' upon. She needed to do what Val said, she needed to branch out. She had no doubts that in time, she too would be able to find a place like that.

Her phrasing seemed a little odd. She claimed not to know a lot about this place, but she made it seem as if she had been here before. I guess not everyone is as inquisitive trying to learn it all in the first trip, or maybe she came alone... but that wouldn't explain why she hasn't found her place, unless she keeps dropping in on someone new each time like a wander of the astral realm or something. She brushed off the train of thought. She could worry about the details later.
The orange haired girl looked up and smiled. "I'm sure you will find your version of the astral realm. In the mean time, you influence each one you visit. That's how it was explained to me, anyway. Nothing is one-hundred percent the same here as in the real world, but it is usually close," she was quiet for a moment. " Maybe you haven't found your space yet because you are need in someone else's. I know I'm glad I met you here today. I wasn't expecting company, but I'm glad the realm knew what I needed," she smiled to the pink haired teen.
The girl in front of her was a mystery, and Val's curiosity and impatience was getting the best of her. "So where are you from? I bet it's really interesting wherever you are?" She looked up excitedly at her newest friend.

That was true, she never really looked at it like that. Even if it wasn't her happy place, she could still be influenced by it. She could warp it into her own way, or was that even possible? She tried to do that, but nothing seemed to work. Regardless, there was still a chance that she could learn what she liked simply by seeing what others liked. Maybe she would learn to enjoy it as well.
"I'm glad too," she said with a smile, "I needed more friends."
She was then asked about where she was from. That was too tricky of a question for her, she didn't really know that herself. There was a place that seemed like home to her, but it's not where she originated from. It was a place that her father brought her too after she was 'born.'
"About that..." she first started to say, "I'm currently on Avalon. After I was born, my dad brought me along as he traveled to it in hopes of making me into a strong warrior after he saw the Paladin Knights who fought on it."

She was quiet for a moment before the thought popped to mind. "Maybe you haven't found your space because you don't need a place right now, but rather you need people?" She wasn't sure if that's actually how it worked, but it was a possibility.
"Avalon? I've never heard of that place. What's it like?" It took a minute for the second half to click. "Is that what you want? Do you want to become a warrior? You seemed like you wanted more than to fight," the orange haired girl frowned. "No one should be forced to do something that don't want to. It's just not right." The idea internally frustrated her. She only let concern show for her new friend, but it truly bothered her that her friend was not given a choice and had yet to make her own. Val knew Kari needed to be able to find out what she likes. She couldn't be warrior, because her dad decided. That isn't fullfilling. That wouldn't give her a life worth living, and Val knew how it felt to not feel like life was worth living. She didn't want that when she had it, and she certainly didn't want it for her new friend. "So, I don't know if you know Kelioux.... hopefully I pronounced it right... anyway, that's where we are headed. I don't know where on that planet, but from the sounds of it, Soul and I will be there a while. If you can manage to get here, you and I can try stuff other than fighting so we can see what you really like if you want?" She smiled at her pink haired friend.
