Val 209/209 The details were vague, but if that's how he felt comfortable explaining for now, then that's what she would have to accept. She still didn't know him well enough to pry too far, and she figured she about reached her limit. She wasn't going to push him past his comfort zone. She did want to help him, but with such vague details, it was tricky to figure out what he needed. She took a breath and walked around the counter to stand in front of him. "I'm here with you. I don't plan on going anywhere any time soon. Now would you like a hug?" She held out her arms toward him. She hoped he would let her hug him. She had wanted to do it again since that first night when he fell asleep in her arms. She wanted to take in his pine and sandalwood scent again. She wanted to feel his soft skin against hers again, although the hoodie made that part a little trickier. She also offered not just for her, but because when she felt hopeless and just far past okay, she just wanted someone to be there. She just wanted to know she wasn't alone. She wanted to give him that at least.

The Dual-Souled Avenger 213/213 He gave her a sad smile as she thought about what he said, and Soul became thankful when she kept her space and didn't pry. It's not that he wouldn't tell her ever, it just wasn't time to do so yet. His smile widened and grew slightly less sad at what she sad, and the offer of a hug. "Sure, I never turn down hugs from pretty ladies." With that, he embraced her and took a deep breath, and lowered his guard for the first time in a while. The intervals between them was getting shorter due to her, and his face grew warm with the thought of that and how she felt. Two mounds pressed against him, and the warmth of her coupled with the scent of strawberries caused the blush on his face to deepen. He coughed and turned away, considerably in better spirits as he tried not to make it awkward, or give a sign in the event she didn't have the feelings he had. He didn't want to ruin what they had or make her leave, and shrugged the thought away with a frown. The Blond struggled for a topic to distract himself and said; "Did you want to uh...you hungry? Do you know how to cook?"

Val 171/380 His comment made her smile lightly as her face tinted with pink. She held him close as she breathed in his scent, a mixture of sandlewood and pine. The smell felt safe. She felt his breath quicken as shs attempted to drag in every ounce of his scent. When he let go, she held on a second or two longer, reluctant to let go of the warmth and safety that he was. She gave him a confused looked as he stumbled over his question. "I thought you weren't hungry," she looked him in the eye. She finished answering the rest of the question. "Depends on your definition of cook I suppose," she tried to shrug it off at first, but she knew that that lie was no where near convincing. She let out a sigh. "No. Not really," the teen looked down, a little ashamed at the truth. It's not that she didn't want to learn. She just was not in an enviroment where she would have been taught such things.

The Dual-Souled Avenger 131/343 He shrugged in response to her read on him about Soul not being hungry, and didn't mind that she herself didn't know how to cook. He had suspected as much and spoke; "I might not be, but that doesn't mean you aren't either. Do you want to learn, or would you rather I cook instead? I don't mind the latter, but if I'm unable to for any reason or we part ways for a bit, you should know at least a few basics." He spread his arms around him, first to the shelves, then the freezer and fridgerator, followed by the tools and various other cooking implements. "It's honestly a treat to learn and cook, in my opinion, and things learned in cooking can be help with other tasks too!"

Val 151/531 She honestly didn't have much of an appetize, but that was probably due to still getting used to eating on a more regular basis. She didn't regularly at her parents' place. There were different reasons, but it all boiled down to eating only when she absolutely needed to. She had come to the kitchen to learn, and he was offering. It also might help get his mind off of things, and it was something for them to do together. "Sure,. Sounds like fun," she gave him a light smile. Her eyes followed him as he grabbed what he needed from around the kitchen. It all seemed fluid and natural. He seemed to know exactly what to grab from where. "So it looks like you have a meal in mind? How can I help?" She looked up to meet his eyes with a wide grin. It was nice to actually feel helpful.
