"Damaskian lab?" she asked as she blinked.
There wasnt a lot that the pink-haired woman knew about. Damaskia sounded familiar to her, but she couldn't quite place it. Did that mean that she was a Damaskian? She then looked all over the place to really get a feel for what kind of person her mother was.
"Was she a nice person?" she asked, wondering what sort of experimenting she played around in.

"Is," Yan corrected with a laugh. "Unless she's dead to you, which would be more than fair~" He paused though contemplating the answer, only to shrug. "She's not mean?"

"Wait," she started to get worried, "I'm dead to her?!" The pink-haired woman didn't know what to think. Was that why she didn't see her mother? Was there something wrong with her?

“No, I meant if she was dead to you, like if you never wanted to see or think about her anymore,” Yan explained with patience. “You know, when someone’s dead you don’t have to make excuses why they aren’t there.”

"Oh," she responded back, "She's not dead to me at this moment." Part of her wondered why she wasn't. It wasn't like she was in her life or anything, "I still want her in my life, I would like to get to know her and all that."

“You’re not missing much,” Yan replied with a smile. “At least you have your dad right?”
JaxYesterday at 8:59 PM
Did she have him? Lately it felt like she didn't either. "I mean he's there sometimes but I feel like it's only when he wants to be there. It's that or he's off doing something without telling me. He also doesn't seem to know what he's doing either as far as parenting goes."

Yan couldn’t speak much to Walid’s dynamic with her. If anything he didn’t actually expect him to be a good dad. Not that he’d be a horrible dad and harmful to the girl, just nothing really to brag about. Even Walid’s way of expressing his affection was usually off point. If that’s how she felt it was probably accurate.
“Most parents don’t,” Yan offered with a small smile before lifting his finger. “But do you know what the most important thing to a healthy relationship is?”
