It was a long flight back to the base. The dark skies of planet Frieza were sprinkled with stars throughout. Kuriza was impressed with the effort Sage displayed on their last mission. He showed great prowlist in the face of danger. Sage’s training had come far, but still had areas of improvement. In the PTO, Sage was neither at the top or bottom of his class. He didn’t excel in many areas in comparison to his fellow classmates. However, it was the focus and determination that would eventually lead him to being a first class soldier. Retrospectively speaking, Kuriza easily made it through the training academy. His strength and speed clearly separated him from the other recruits. Kuriza had made it known early to his superiors that he wanted more responsibilities. The Pto had assigned Sage, per Kuriza’s request, to his unit along with one other to complete missions that required unorthodox methods to accomplish. His goal of successfully penetrating the ranks of the PTO’S was coming to fruition and all he desired was more power.
Kuriza landed back at the base, Sage right at his heels. His arm was bruised, with deep cuts stretched throughout. “Head to the infermory and report to me when your battle ready, Is that clear? Kuriza said swiftly to sage. “Yes sir!” He said as he attempted to salute Kuriza, with a weak grin he walked off towards the medical units. Kuriza knew Sage had a lot more growing he needed to do. Especially when compared to Fasha. “Saiyans only respect one thing, and that's raw power.” Kuriza flashed back to their last time together, the amazing effort and determination. “And that Ki!” He said to himself, remembering that flurry of energy known to her as Energy Dan. Her words still crisp to his ears he spoke softly to himself. “Congratulations young saiyan. You were right, you will be more than a worthless grunt. I'll make sure of it!”
It was starting to get late, knowing the graduation ceremony was tomorrow Kuriza headed to the barracks. He would hope a good night's rest would have him prepared for Lord Frost’s legendary, long winded, inauguration speeches. Seeing as though he would be able to see them just as well as they would be able to see him, anything deemed unreputable would certainly result in death. If nothing more, be used as an example to once again show the might, and wrath of the Changeling Lord Frost. Kuriza idolized Frost's mentality and his dominance. The PTO’s rule stretched farther than what's seen by the eye. “Deception. And misdirection.” Kuriza Grinned. This future looked bright, and his plans were slowly falling in place. As he laid down in his bed he watched the shadows of people coming and going past the bunks. Everyone was moving with purpose and all for Lord Frost. Kuriza slowly flirted with his infatuation with power drifting off to sleep. Lucid dreams of a future to be.
As Kuriza slept over in the infirmary Sage laid on his back anticipating the events to transpire tomorrow morning. Still many hours before the ceremony, he reflected how lucky he was to have had Fasha and his Master Kuriza there with him during their last outing. The wolves were more difficult than he thought. He looked down at his arm. The wounds had been stitched and heavily bandaged, but he felt good. Knowing he wasn't one hundred percent yet he took his time to get out of bed. He took quick assessment to make sure he didn't look over any other injuries that might have been treated as well. Sage stood up and looked in the mirror. The sun was just starting to rise so a little light was creeping through the windows. Enough to see more stitches on his back shoulder. “Must have been from the trees.” he said remembering how he had to dodge and roll through the brush and trees. He turned to the window and stretched. Throwing a couple punches and kicks to evaluate his range of motion. After a quick warm up he knew he was good to go. Ready to get back out and serve his master, his Lord, Kuriza. “Doctor’s orders were to take it easy for a while.” Sage said to himself, standing beside his bed. He looked at the pillow. “I'm too amped to go back to sleep now.” Sage thought, clenching his fist in determination. “Well guess ill have to burn some energy!” Sage dropped to the floor and began doing push ups. After a quick set he rolled over and started doing sit ups. “There we go!” He said as sweat dropped from his brow. He stood up and began to jog in place. Picking up the pace he began to breath harder. “What do you think your doing?” The nurse had came in to room fusing and screaming. “Your arm was barely hanging together by a string and your in here running around like you about to participate in the formal Frost triathlon. Get in bed now you're Inauguration is tomorrow.” Sage smiled as his head dropped. He knew she was right, he was just so excited. “Here take this, it will help you sleep.” the nurse said handing Sage a pill and a glass of water. He quickly took the pill, a rather large grey pill, and chased it gulping large amounts of water. “Alright i’m getting in bed.” Sage responded as he pulled ack his sheets. He got into bed and peered out the window. As he fell closed his eye to sleep Sage took a sigh of relief. After Graduation he no longer would feel he had something to prove. He would have officially surpassed the other pupils at Master Kuriza’s dojo. “I wonder how Farrow’s been doing.” Farrow was ranked above him before the Dojo started doing joint training with the PTO. He had suddenly stop showing up at the Dojo. Sage looked at Farrow as a rival, always judging his own power in comparison with his. Dreams of an epic fight with his peer rushed through his head, as he fell asleep ready for a new day. Filled with new challenges, and another opportunity to close the gap between him and Farrow.
After her encounter with the ice wolf horde Fashs felt a new sense of confidence. She returned to the PTO barracks with her head held high and not a scratch on her. The sweet taste of victory was still fresh on her lips and the saiyan woman was savoring every second of it. The doors to the barracks opened and Fasha was relieved to see most of her brothers and sisters in arms were sleeping. She made her way to her cot and slept for what few hours she could before their graduation ceremony in the morning.
Fasha was awakened by the chit chat of her roommates as they prepared for the upcoming day. Her eyes opened and she hopped out of bed ready to be accepted as a full member of this fighting force. She attempted to keep her excitement bottled in as a way not to seem soft to her counterparts. Deep down inside though she wanted to scream for joy, knowing she had taken her first step towards being able to return to planet Vegeta.
As Fasha started to prepare herself for the ceremony she overheard a few students speaking about how Lord Frost would be giving a speech virtually and how they should all be on their best behavior because he would be able to see them as well. Fasha had hoped to meet the changeling Lord personally, maybe even shake his hand. She imagined some of his awesome power might rub off on her. She wrapped her tail around her waist and began to make her way towards the venue where the graduation ceremony would be held. She wanted to be the first there and show her fellow new recruits that she was serious about rising through the ranks. She believed in an old saying and continuously whispered it to herself as she walked towards the venue.
" The early bird gets the worm...The early bird gets the worm." She rambled on as she imagined her future success. She waited there alone for what seemed like hours. Whilst she waited her mind began to wonder. First she thought of the green alien who had helped her dispatch of the ice wolves. She wondered if his wounds had healed and if she would see him amongst the crowd during graduation. She then thought of the changeling adolescent that had offered her help in an almost insulting manner. "And what makes you so powerful?" She Said aloud. Neither his stature nor his physique screamed powerful. yet he had such an aura of confidence, almost cockiness. "WHAT IS YOUR SECRET?" Fasha yelled, slamming her fist into her palm. "No matter. I'll surpass you one day." At this point Fasha realized she never got the changelings or her alien friends name. She decided right then and there that she would make it her business to find the two during the graduation ceremony.
Slowly but steadily new graduates and veterans alike entered the venue, ready to welcome Fasha and her fellow graduates to the fold. There were even civilians from planet Freiza that came to show their respect and support for the PTO. Fasha scanned the crowd for any sign of the changeling or the green alien.
"Where are you baldy?" She turned her head left and right scanning the crowd once more "I know your here." She didn't have the ability to sense ki but she just knew he was somewhere close. "Show yourself." She murmured to herself fist with her clinched. Before she knew it the crowd was packed. commander Spade took center stage ready to greet the crowd. Spade was a familiar face to Fasha. She had been under his tutelage during her basic training. The crowd roared in excitement showing their enthusiasm for the new set of recruits.
"Welcome, welcome I commander spade am honored to host our annual grading ceremony. This year the fresh blood we received has been a cut above the rest. So much so that lord Frost himself has prepared a speech for you. This is an unheard of event and because of this Lord Frost has chosen to speak prior to the ceremony. Now if you all would turn your attention to the large monitors located around the Venue I present to you Lord Frost."
The crowd grew silent and the once blank screens came to life with the changeling Lord's image. He nodded his head in approval at the class before beginning his speech.
"Now usually I don't congratulate recruits on conquering the smallest hill on the mountain. However I've heard that Commander Spade here hasn't made it easy on you in the slightest and the weaklings among you lost their lives within the first few weeks of training. If you made it this far you make sure you wear that emblem with pride. I personally would like to say I'm proud of you all. I will now name the three recruits who excelled the most during basic training. In third place Fasha. second place goes to Goro and in first place Kuriza. Make some noise for yourselves!"
A picture of each recruit scrolled across the screen as their name was called. The crowd cheered even louder than before with some of the recruits screaming at the top of their lungs. Fasha however was silent. Not only was this mystery changeling ranked higher than her but by two whole ranks in the eyes of Lord Frost. The only positive Fasha took from the speech is that she now knew his name and she repeated it to make sure she didn't forget. "Kuriza!"
Quickly the random crowd noise became an organized chant.
"FROST..FROST..FROST." they yelled repeatedly. Suddenly a large explosion could be heard and felt. One of the monitors was all but obliterated. The other three monitors showed the shocked face of Lord Frost.
"What the….who dare ruin this special occasion!" Frost's voice roared through the audio system. "New PTO Member find out who that was and make them pay, make them pay with their Li-"
All three visual broadcasts were brought to a simultaneous stop as the remaining screens exploded sending shards of glass into the crowd. Several aliens of various races flew up from the crowd and began to loot and destroy the venue Chanting one phrase repeatedly. "DEFUND THE PTO...DEFUND THE PTO"
Fasha got excited at the prospect of showing off in front of her superiors and sprung head first into action. She shot into the sky leaving a trail of ki behind her.
"Third place my ass!" She yelled as her fist slammed into one of the rioters' stomach and sent them flying through the roof of the venue. When they spoke of defunding the PTO Fasha took it personally. This was the only organization to give her a chance and she would be damned if that chance was taken away by rioters and looters.
Sage turned his head to see where the last came from. Kuriza, who was the top ranked recruit this year, instead of traditionally sitting in the front he chose to be in the last row with Sage sitting in front of him. A fire erupted from the exploded monitor as panic swept throughout the arena. “Sage, get as many as you can to safety, and put out those fires!” Sage got to his feet and flew off as fast as he could to the stands. Large chunks of debris blocked the exits, everyone was pushing, almost climbing over one another in a frantic attempt to get to safety. “Everyone move out the way!” Sage yelled out as he began to charge ki in his mouth. “AHHHHH!” he screamed creating a beam of ki blasting through the rock.
“Come with me, this way! I'll lead you all out of here. Trust me I am a member of the PTO and I will protect you.” Sage ushered them all one by one through the rubble down to the stairs. “I'll go first.” He spoke quietly as he cut through the crowd. He wanted to make sure if the enemy was here they would see and attack him first before anyone else. To his relief they made it to the bottom where the emergency exit was. Bursting into fresh air the attendees poured out coughing from the smoke. Tears of joy as some reunited with their loved ones, others of sorrow because the worst had become for theirs.
Kuriza looked off as Sage sprang to action. The stands had started to empty and Kuriza was pleased knowing Sage was successful. “Alight, let's find out what this was all about.” Kuriza could still hear the chants coming from outside the arena. “Defund the PTO, Defund the PTO!” “God forsaken rebels!” Kuriza said as he flew up high to access the situation. He could see where Sage was still escorting people to Safety. He looked over to his left and he could see the fire’s still raging and it looked as if now the attackers were on the move. Kuriza looked around,
He would be greatly outnumbered if he took the attack to them. If they were bold enough to attack an arena full of PTO recruits then they had to be ready for a fight. This had to be a diversion. It was too late, before Kuriza knew it a large group of rebels were pouring out of a storm drain located in the middle of the arena. “Damn it they must have travelled through when the bomb went off.”With Sage out, and still needing to put out the fires, Kuriza knew it would be a while before he got some decent back up.
The crowds outside began to calm and subdue. Sage had repeated over and over until everyone was safe, going in the burning arena and by and means necessary getting the civilians out. Fortunately, he suffered no losses in his transport however casualties began to add up from the initial attack. Sage now confident he accomplished the first part, took off flying into the air.” Time to do something about those fires. It was one main fire that was beginning to spread and smaller fires were scattered around the arena. The major issue was making sure the main fire did not accelerate the smaller ones. “What to do, what to do? Sage wondered to himself trying to think fast, time was running out and his back was against the wall. After a quick brainstorm Sage determined the greatest threat was the main fire and should start by extinguishing it first then he would be able to either assist the others or further support the recovery and rescue efforts still going on at the main level. Sage looked up to the sky and saw Kuriza also surveying the arena. Sage could see a figure flying fast towards Kuriza. Sage squinted his eyes in an attempt to make out the blurred image heading right to his boss.
Kuriza was a more than capable fighter, he was the best in their graduating class. If anyone here could handle themselves it would be him. Sage wouldn't let his undivided loyalty to Kuriza distract him from the direct order he had been given by him. “My mission is rescue and recovery, not asset protection. Master Kuriza can handle his own, I must focus on my own task. Now for these fires.” Sage had decided the best method was to shoot ki blast into the ground. The dust would help suffocate the fires. Sage blasted holes into the ground and just as he planned dust began to fill the arena. Sage then rushed to grab the water hose. Sage with hose in hand began to spray the smoking flames. Mud began to form from the collection of dirt and dust from the flames calming the main fire done. “Almost there!” He said. Sage took another glimpse at his boss flying even higher above him. Kuriza looked around still looking for options, and in the distance he could see someone flying fast. It was Fasha the third ranking member of his graduating class. She looked ready for a fight. With her help they would be able to make quick work of these rebels. The strongest fighters on the planet were in the PTO, whoever they were, they had lacked the proper training to capitalize on this moment of weakness. It was a smart, well thought out plan but without the proper muscle it was nothing more than livestock rushing to the slaughterhouse.
Fasha let out an animalistic growl and she sought out more combatants. Anyone seen destroying or defacing any property would be handled immediately. She floated In the air for a moment after dispatching her first target. The crowd had gone into a panic with several civilians losing their lives due to the cowardly attacks. Fasha's saiyan blood began to boil as she watched whole families get destroyed.
"You must have a death wish woman." An alien with saiyan style armor approached Fasha and squared up with her in the sky. The saiyan woman looked the alien in his eyes with disgust and replied to him with both words and action.
"BIG!" Fasha's arms stretched out horizontally to her sides with her palms held flat outwards. "TREE!" Two yellow balls of ki began to form, One in each palm. Once the two ki balls reached their full size Fasha brought her hands together in front of her and fired off a beam of ki "CANNON!
Her target disappeared before her eyes leaving only an after image in his place. Before Fasha could react he was floating above her. After scanning left and right for a moment she finally looked upwards and was greeted by the aliens fists. Her adversary showed her no mercy and slammed into her face with a two handed hammer fist. The blow turned her head slightly in the other direction but Fasha stayed floating in the air. The rest of her body unfazed.
"I'll give it to you. You're fast as hell." Fasha let out a slight chuckle before spitting out a bit of blood. "You don't pack much of a punch though do you." Fasha's laugh got louder as she reached upwards and grabbed him by his ankles one hand holding each. "Now it's my turn!!" She let out a battle cry as she pulled him downwards and used her power fly ability to propel herself upwards, head first into his chin. The two collided and the alien almost immediately fell unconscious. The saiyan warrior did not let him fall out of the sky however. Instead she caught his limp body by the ankles and swung him around in a circle twice before tossing him into the stands.
Now that he was dealt with Fasha began to turn her eyes to some of the damage that had been caused by these rioters. There were fires raging people trapped under the rubble of collapsed parts of the venue. As she observed her surroundings she spotted her bald alien friend. She was surprised to see him helping people, saving lives. She considered helping but before she could make that decision a more dire situation arose. Dozens of rebels had entered the building through a storm drain and were pouring into the arena. No matter how much she wanted to help save the people her saiyan blood drew her to the fight. She finally had a chance to fight without holding back, and she planned on releasing all her frustrations upon the enemies of the PTO.
"Haa! Haa!" Fasha let out screams as she fired off balls of ki into the rebel forces as they began to spread throughout the arena. "Oh no you don't!" She was beginning to have fun using the fodder alien force as target practice. "Lord foster said kill you all and I'll most certainly oblige!" A feeling of blood lust was starting to come over Fasha. With every kill she confirmed or injury she caused she felt herself going on more of a high. Her actions became even less calculated and she began to move off of pure fighting and survival instincts. Fasha had lost herself in the battle and it was the best feeling she had ever felt. She felt like a tank amongst soldiers mowing down the weaklings in no time.
That's when she saw him. A sight that pissed her off more than any of the rebels had up until this point. Mister first in class himself. "KURIZA!" Fasha yelled to the changeling as she grabbed a rebel by his arm and tossed them right at Kuriza. "YOU THINK YOUR BETTER THAN ME? HUH?" Fasha flew in the direction of the changeling slowly blasting enemies out the sky that dare fly past her vision. "ANSWER ME!" She continued to yell and float towards him, tossing any enemy that challenged her physically right at the changeling and watching for how he would go about dealing with them. "SHOW ME YOUR POWER!" She stared at Kuriza intensely through the dust and smoke that had filled the arena. Crisis or not the saiyan woman had decided she wanted answers and she would not be ignored.
The fires began to die down in the background. Fasha assumed baldy was successful in his attempts to limit casualties. She was almost certain he was a stand up guy. As far as Kuriza was concerned she wasn't sure but she sure was interested. How could he be the number one recruit yet go unnoticed by her for so long? Something just didn't sit right with her about the changeling.
“Power, you say?” Kuriza chuckled, raising his hand above his head. The body Fasha threw at him was closing in. With one swipe of his hand he back slapped the body dropping him hard into the ground. Kuriza laughed as he looked at the body crash into the ground. Kuriza slowly began to spin as he rose higher in the sky. “So you want to see my power? Kurizas body started to seize. Each ligament was moving in its own direction and at different paces. The sounds Kuriza made were sounds of pain and agony, however he laughed throughout the process. Two large black horns started to creep out of the sides of his head, growing larger by each passing second. His arms doubled in size, width and length while his legs and tail followed suit. His chest imploded then exploded, similar to a heart beat. Increasing rapidly in size with every beat.
Kuriza yelled to the heavens for a final time as his transformation was complete. He stopped spinning and looked Fasha dead in her eyes. “Bare witness.” He said calmly. Kuriza stuck his hand out in front of him and began collecting energy. A ball of Ki began to grow from his palm. The energy surge was intense, the air itself felt heavy and thick. He took aim at a group rioting outside of the arena trying to break through the doors. They were all still chanting, “Defund the PTO!” You poor fools, Trap Shooter.” Kuriza said, his voice was much calmer now. As he pushed the ball of Ki forward multiple smaller balls of ki began to come from that one blast, showering down below. Explosions erupted as each ball hit a different target. “ It seems there still a few more.” Kuriza began charging a second attack in his other palm. No matter, Beam ball.” Kuriza said calmly once more as four balls of ki appeared spinning in his palm. He sent out four more blasts one by one plucking off the survivors from his first attack. Kuriza laughed and he began to slowly hoover back towards Fasha, whom he now was much larger than. “Do you require more demonstration or have I satisfied your curiosity?” He said anticipating her responce. Wc:374 Final word count: 2363
"Satisfied? No not in the slightest. I'm actually dying to know what one of those attacks of yours feels like." Fasha looked at the changeling's new form in disgust. "I thought my great form was ugly both this. This is hideous." She looked down below them and took note of the bodies that surrounded the building. It was only now that she had noticed the chanting completely stopped.
"You don't waste time do you Kuriza, you could have left me at least a handful to practice on." Fasha said as she descended from the arenas ceiling. Suddenly a loud screech blared through what speakers were left standing. When it ceased, Lord Frost's voice began to rumble through the arena.
"Good job you two, by far the most entertaining graduation ceremony I have ever witnessed. Next time try not to destroy my beautiful venue or I'll have your heads understood. you are dismissed." Fasha stood up stiff as if she was still in basic training and saluted the air not knowing which direction to look in.
"Yes sir, Lord Frost!" She exclaimed. She immediately felt like an idiot for her actions but she was still attempting to earn her place on Freiza both by force on the battlefield and finesse with her superiors. The finesse part of her plan was less natural however. The saiyan warrior looked around at the destruction and casualties the PTO had suffered this day and vowed to never allow it to happen again. She then looked at the Vulgar Kuriza and spoke to him.
"The day when I face you on the battlefield will come. I see your power but you never truly know a warrior until you feel their power. You might be number one now but trust me changeling I'm coming for your spot." She smiled at Kuriza before turning her back to him and walking off. "I wonder how your little transformation would fare against my great ape. But since there's no moon on Freiza I guess we'll have to wait and see."
She continued to walk off with the prospect of the battle she had suggested on her mind. She couldn't wait to cross fists with him.
