Forward: As some of you may know, I have been working for roughly the past five months or so on an appropriate custom item for Lilim. As of current, I have had several attempts and iterations. As it stands, it seems like an often-cited aspect of my custom ideas is that they would perform better as a site-implemented item or feature rather than as a custom item. I will admit, a lot of my ideas are really out there, some are creative, some are just crazy. At the moment, I'm more-or-less okay with the item that I have, Infernal Dominion Dominator Fleet, but the features it provides are rather strange and, as some pointed out, should probably be more features that the site provides for those that wish to strive for it rather than something only Lilim can do.
This prompted me to go through the many, many suggestions and requests I had made concerning Lilim's custom item and try to do my best to separate what is something that should be a site feature and what should be something that is actually unique. For the most part, this threat serves as more of a chalk board for me to write down my errant and erratic thoughts on this topic so that I can figure something out that would qualify properly as a custom item--especially given the standards I have been given so far from staff--while also being suitably satisfying to own and utilize. At first, this procedure was not entirely clear as to what I should be doing, which is when I ended up finding one of my own posts from roughly 2 years ago--it should be something that is personal and specific to the character in question.
This prompted me to go through as much of Lilim's personal story and roleplays to the best of my abilities, which I'm hoping to document here so that I can read through them several times and put my thoughts into each one. I'll be keeping this thread open for suggestions, so people can suggest mechanics or ideas that might fit or might work properly. I understand this has been a laborious process for some people, and I wanted to thank everyone for all of their contributions and assistance when it comes to this sort of thing.
Race: Demon
Specifically: Elder Demon of Lust
First and foremost, we need to make sure that some mechanics that I want for Lilim are things that are better served as custom items instead of something that should be a potential site mechanic. Previously, Lilim had an item called the 'Crest of the Demon Queen' which allowed her to maintain more than one Majin at a time and recharge Majin slots. Additionally, the power gained for each one of her Majins while in the same battle was lesser depending upon how many were in the battle. Eventually, someone pointed out the last part wasn't really a downside when I don't battle that often (something I hope to rectify in the future).
Now, when we're talking about individual abilities, it's important that we examine each one separately before we can look at any sort of item that attempts to connect things as a whole. So first off, before we can examine possible abilities, its probably for the best if we look at something we already know:
Maintain Multiple Majins at the Same time.
Funnily enough, this could work as part of a custom item, as I don't see it as a good idea to allow all demons access to this sort of ability. Maintaining multiple Majins is a force-multiplier for alliances that might or might not prove to be toxic, especially as there are revamps and retools going on with the battle system (as far as I am aware). As much as this could be a custom item, and this would lend itself well with Lilim's overall character, it's less precise in how she goes about doing things. She's more of a 'tempt someone to worship her' sort of person, and while she has used her Majin abilities on people she wanted to dig her claws into, this would probably be a Low Priority ability for her.
Recharge/Recover Majin Slots.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, this would be a perfect candidate for an Epic Quest. Honestly, I would design the quest to be in Hell, since all demons have access to that, and make it so that Demons would regain one Majin slot per year. I feel that is more than fair given the circumstances, but we want to make sure not to go above that, considering Majins can potentially be just a free power up for someone with zero consequences. For Lilim there are consequences to being her Majin, but you can't use how I use Majins as a basis for anything. So, in effect, this sort of ability would be better served as a site feature as part of a quest (or chain of quests) rather than a custom item.
Now then, with all of that out of the way, I'm going to look at abilities and features that I currently have 'approved' as part of my current custom item: Here
The original intention of this item was to perpetuate Lilim's empire of planets that I have been working on for the past four or so years. It's actually something of a point of pride for me to keep creating planets and keep creating a narrative around these planets and the empire as a sort of player-built faction of sorts. In another thread, I am working on ways to expand upon this to add utility, worth, and weight to the concept of doing just that, and so far, it's been a very liberating process for me to put all of my ideas down for site features. As such, however, the custom item itself performs less and less of a good function. To effect, I make the Dominator Fleet bigger (and carry more upgrades) based upon how many quests I do (quests from planets I own, that is), and while this does come with the feature of 'building' planets, that's not really something I want out of a custom item at this point--I can already buy one every 3 weeks as it is. Additionally, people have raised an objection to someone being able to create worlds for free when these are supposed to be significant zeni investments (and trust me, they are, just look at the thousands of Zeni I spend on my worlds to keep upgrading them). In effect, the overall function of the fleet as a custom item just doesn't really work overall. It would be better served by making several site items that can simulate the same effect while also being available to everyone.
Furthermore, let's look at items that didn't get approved:
Item 2:
As before, many of this item's perks are better served as site items that everyone can buy. In particular, being able to own multiple underlings, students, officers, and ships simultaneously feels like an incredibly potent perk--especially at the higher power level range--that should require a significant investment of some sort tied to it. There has always been a common complaint that underlings, students, and officers have always been rather underwhelming, and while I would love to help expand their usefulness, it needs to be done through site features, not as a custom item feature. Indeed, this was the item that informed me that many of ideas would serve the site better than it would the personal. As much as I want to do more with my empire of planets, it should be done through the site, not through a custom item. Just because Lilim is the Empress of the Dominion doesn't mean that her custom item should emphasize things that are inherently separate from her.
Item 3:
This one was stated as being too eclectic and wide-ranged to be suitable as a custom item. Originally, the idea was for folks to pick three perks that they thought would make for a suitable item, but that's going to cause far too much variance to really reach a conclusive consensus. As such, we'll have to break these things down one at a time and see what's salvageable and what's not. Bear in mind, that multiple people have said that even with three of the perks--excluding the too powerful ones--wouldn't make for an ideal custom item either.
It is literally to the surprise of 0 people that Lilim is a physical fighter--having an item that bolsters that particular part of her fighting style is a good starting point, as it emphasizes her obscene physical might. Its a little basic--and perhaps a smidge potent, given her fighting style--but playing into your character's strengths isn't necessarily a bad thing. We might adjust this or perhaps change it up a little to be less brute-force and more nuanced.
I don't think anyone in their right mind would approve of this. Being unsneakable for zeni and increased zeni gains is too much of a single perk by itself, I believe, and while gaining additional zeni isn't a terrible item quality, it's a smidge boring and Lilim already makes a lot of zeni on each update anyway. Methods of generating wealth should be from a site feature, not necessarily from a custom item. Additionally, outright removing a method of sneak-attacking--especially one that Lilim can be susceptible of if I'm not paying attention--kind of puts an unnecessary barrier around the character that honestly shouldn't exist. Just because I don't like being sneak attacked doesn't mean I should get a free shield to be immune to it.
Lilim has always been fairly charismatic and alluring to most people--especially to those she is romantically involved with--and while this particular perk could be really potent, I feel like this should be part of a site mechanic rather than a custom item (probably). For example, say each character can only specialize in one of the three traits (Charisma, Determination, Intelligence), and by specializing in one, you gain a feature that is exclusive to that specialization. I'm not sure what Determination's would be or Intelligence's, but its an idea I've been tossing around my head for awhile now.
For Lilim, that would be another 100 points of strength per week by itself, plus another 5 to all traits. While that's not a very impressive number, free stats from a custom item is generally discouraged. Not a good perk.
I think this one can be reworked--as free stats, its a bad perk. However, Lilim is an incredibly sexual character, and for obvious reasons, that sort of content is restricted on the site, otherwise, I would be able to come up with more perks just based around that fact. However, if she were able to choose a character on the same planet as herself, and then they would both get a benefit from it, that could be doable. At first, I thought some sort of partner training would work, but Lilim gains more stats from meditation training in general. We could rework this as 'Lilim enhances the gains from planet spars by +10%', but that's kind of what Champion does already, and custom items aren't supposed to be a replacement for passives. That makes this a lot more tricky. Being with Lilim is supposed to be utterly intoxicating and blissful, tempting and irresistible, and of course, sexually liberating. Having the benefit just be raw stats is a little underwhelming, so part of me is wondering if we can't mix it up a little bit. Maybe +determination or +charisma when planet sparring with Lilim?
This isn't that bad of a perk, but it's dangerously close to the Vorox Wing, and we've said in the past that custom items shouldn't be an unsneakable version of a rare item. Even if Lilim has her own demon wings that I RP frequently, that doesn't mean I can bypass the rules, so this isn't suitable.
This leads us to the natural question of 'what can Lilim do?' The answer is a lot.
- She was born sometime around 25,000,000 years ago, and she has lived as an immortal for much of that time. Even then, that timeline is more of an estimate than a really compelling figure. (Not sure if this could be used as a feature)
- She created a pocket dimension between planes of existence called her 'Shadow Realm' where her succubus daughters reside as a safe haven. There's a lot of lore written about it that I need to post somewhere on this site at some point, but suffice to say, it's basically a Bloodborne + Dark Souls + Castlevania world dominated by a massive castle that's all 'powered' by a giant black star. (Not sure if this could be used as a feature or if this is basically just 'fluff')
- She has the ability to convert mortal women into succubi, thereby inducting them into her coven. Basically, the way this works is that those women who believed they were sinned against--and desire vengeance--can beseech the aid of Lilim. She comes to them and grants them power so that they can have their revenge. Upon its completion, if they undergo a ritual, their race changes from whatever it was to demon. (Not sure if this could be used as a feature, but it might be pretty neat. Unfortunately, watarian implants and blood infusions already exist for this purpose)
- She teleports through the shadows of the world--basically, if there is a shadow cast by an object or if there is complete darkness, she can step into it and teleport to another shadow regardless of distance. This is less like Instant Transmission, as she is travelling 'between' dimensions, but for all intents and purposes, its basically instant transmission.
- Lilim is highly skilled in the arts of Magic, and while her spellcasting is more 'instinctive and creative', its no less potent. The idea here is that she has slowly picked up things from one source or another and slowly just accumulated every skill she has over the course of many millennia. (Not sure if this could be a feature or not--its more fluff to describe her battle style)
- She is literally able to halt time across the galaxy and punch a hole through reality. Note that this takes a lot of exertion out of her and leaves her dangerously exhausted, even if she is immortal. Though she can 'die', her physical form merely reanimates in Hell (taking four weeks) before she returns to the mortal plane. The only way to permanently kill her is with the Z-Sword. (This could potentially inform us about her ludicrous strength and immense power, but I feel like incorporating her weakness against the Z-Sword is very important)
So with all of that in mind, we will need to come up with a proper item for Lilim. When I get time, I'll be posting ideas and thoughts either as edits to this post or in subsequent posts in this thread.
This prompted me to go through the many, many suggestions and requests I had made concerning Lilim's custom item and try to do my best to separate what is something that should be a site feature and what should be something that is actually unique. Infernal Dominion Dominator Fleet - Counts as one ship that can hold 8 people until upgraded.
-The ship starts with 6 slots for any upgrades. The number of slots can be increased by Lilim completing quests on planets she owns and paying the 2,000 zeni per slot. Each quest difficulty level offers +1 Slot (ie. Easy gives 1 Slot, Medium gives 2 Slots with 4,000z needing paid). Only any one upgrade can be used by one person at one time.
Upgrade Costs:
-Training Center - 5 slots*
-Luxury Rejuvenation Tank - 4 slots
-Jump Drive - 1 slot (must have one for every 10 slots to successfully use)
-Mark IV Anti-Personnel Warheads - 5 slots
-Rejuvenation Tank - 1 slot per
-Barracks cost - 8 slots
-Hospital - 10 slots
-Factory - 8 slots
-Any Gravitron Below Titan - 2 slots
-Titan Gravitron &Reinforce Chamber - 4 slots
Every 8 slots adds one more person the ship can fit.
-Can utilize a build slot to search for planets (mechanically, building a planet). This takes 52 weeks, minus a number of weeks equal to the number of slots after the first 10. Capped at 6 months reduction. Can only build one at a time. This build slot can only be used to search/build normal planets (no additional gravity).
Travelling does not reset this timer.
-In battle 3 Mark IV Anti-Personnel Warheads can be used (if they have been purchased and installed for the right slots), but only if no other upgrades are being used throughout the entire battle (IE. Lilim cannot use her training center at all during the battle if she plans to use her warhead). The max a battle can have remains at 3 for three people in battle, meaning if Lilim uses all three, her ally’s cannot use theirs.
*TC upgrades like gravitron and such are TC upgrades not ship upgrades and can be applied normally

Item 2:
Empress of the Dominion
-Equipped on the Head. Cannot be equipped with any other item on the Head.
- Removes all limits on purchasing and owning Underlings, Officers, and Ships.
- Underlings can partner train with anyone, but they all start with a Power Level of 10,000 (instead of the normal %). These Underlings count as demons, but they do not gain race benefits. Additionally, these Underlings represent groups of military forces, so they fill all transport slots on a ship that transports them, and they cannot be transported by a Ship with a capacity less than 6.
- In order to equip any equipment or prepare any battle item, these Underlings must be given Ten (10) of the same item (for the purposes of training and battles, owning ten of the same item only counts as one, both as equipment and prepared items), as the Underling represents a group of Infantry rather than a single individual. Accordingly, all Underlings must be purchased at ten times their normal cost.
- Each Underling purchased gains a single build slot, but they cannot benefit from anything that reduces build times.
-Equipped on the Head. Cannot be equipped with any other item on the Head.
- Removes all limits on purchasing and owning Underlings, Officers, and Ships.

Mark of Lust - Equipped on Head, Body, Arms, and Legs. Cannot be interlocked with anything except for items required for Champion's Set to be active.
- Removes the damage bonus of Champions Gloves.
- The Mark of Lust doubles the damage of all physical attacks.
- Cannot be sneak attacked for Zeni, regardless of amount held. Zeni can still be stolen. Increases the zeni and strength gains from her weekly job by 50%.
- Removes the cap on stats gained from Lilim's Charisma in battle.
- Doubles the Strength and Trait gains from meditation training.
- Once per week, Lilim can seduce another character on the same world as her, granting them both +10 all stats and +10 all traits.
- Lilim may recharge one Majin slot per year.
- The Ki cost for Fly is changed to 0%, but the cost for Power Fly is doubled.
