Hey everybody. Just wanted to let ya’ll know that by the end of Wednesday the main site and various places on the forum will be updated with the new patch. This will make Thursday 1/28/2021 the live date meaning your updates for this Sunday will be under the new version. This is one of the larger patches that’s been compiled and after reviewing the work with Alex he and I believe the changes going into the game make a betterment for the playing experience. We will continue to make a focus on developing more enriching ways to sculpt our universe and give you the players the ability to shape how the landscape expands. I look forward to seeing lore and factions grow while each of you makes your mark across the galaxy.
Here is to a new year and another job well done by those who had a hand in development.
Thank you.

I have spent the better part of the day getting Patch 5.6.9 has been implemented on the site. Various members of the mod team will be looking over the information just incase I missed anything or something is broke. Patch notes has also been updated. I listed all the pertinent material there, but obviously once you get to certain pages reading helps. Over the next day or two the various edits need to the forum for quest items and actual quests will be completed by those on the mod team. If you have any questions, please reach out to those on staff so we can answer them for you. Thanks.

I added some late changes to the 5.6.9 patch. They are on the patch archive list for posterity but for convenience they are also below:
Added new donation item "Mirage Mirror."
Added two new passives: Sophisticated and Critical Striker.
Buffed Guides Pace Yourself, Power of the Soul, Develop an Iron Jaw, and Battle Ballet to add +100 instead of +50, and can be read twice now.
Buffed Book Teachings of Pyal to +100 instead of +50.
Buffed Chi of the Ancients to +100 instead of +25.
Buffed Scroll of the Eidolon to +25 instead of +20. Can now be read twice.
Increased the max number of passives from 4 slots to 5

Okay guys so I worked on this more last night and this morning, and there are a few other late additions to the patch which I am implementing now. They are pretty important as to how battles will work going forward so I did want them to have to wait until the summer patch. Keep in mind these changes affect future battles, not ones currently underway. The reason for these changes is that people are ki spamming far too much. I feel that these changes will force people to be more creative in their fighting and more varied in their posts and attacks, which is what DBZ is meant to be. You don't just spam M. Bison's slide. That's not fun for anybody. I also unlocked the thread if you want to comment.
Changes below:
Sneak Attack zeni has been increased from 5,000 zeni to 6,000. This means you must now carry over 6,000 zeni to be sneakable. Alliance vault caps increased from 10,000 to 12,000 respectively.
Added a new "tag team" battle type (this type of battle happens all the time in DBZ and I felt it should be something that can be done here).
Limited the number of advanced/finisher techniques you may perform per post in a battle to 1 to prevent ki spamming.
The "first block" no longer reduces damage by 75%. All blocks simply reduce damage by up to 50% (this added unnecessary complexity to figuring out blocks). 1 block action may now be used against 2 successive attacks to attempt to block both, with diminishing returns.
Speed Teleport functionality has been reduced from +50% speed to +40%. Improved Speed Teleport reduced from +65% speed to +50%.
If you attempt to dodge an attack, and fail, you now become Stunned (-1 action on your next post).
Increased training battle power level cap from 20,000 to 25,000.
Increased gains from spars to +35 all stats from +25 all. Also increased spar bonus from Partner Training respectively (still an additional +5 all).

Instead of limiting one advanced/finisher can we buff counter measures? I remember a while ago you added exhaustion which removed one action from your next post if you used more than one advanced, so you were open to counterattack. I thought that was a nice feature and the ooc mechanic was explained IC. Currently, I understand the need for the change, but it feels odd from a writing perspective to not be able to use your techs. Reverting the barrier chance would be good too so that way if somebody Ki spams you are protected and not ruled dead due to having no actions
Tag team battles sound metal as fuck and if anyone wants to try one hit me up!

Dodges that use speed teleports no longer take an action to use. What about dodging an attack that has been enhanced by a Speed Teleport or any other form of accelerated movement [Zanzoken / Double Zanzoken]? *Not Power Fly because its slower*

Removing the first block. I felt rather indifferent towards it though I feel that it did somewhat make up for Barrier changed to proactive us only, though I think it discouraged blocking in a way by making people think have to think carefully about when they use the block action for the first time. I like the idea of 1 block being usable against 2 techniques that was one of the solutions proposed to make second wave more manageable. I feel like making speed teleport dodges a free action is unnecessarily and makes the issue of the action economy more a problem and favors people with significantly greater speed than their opponent as it means they are more likely to dodge successfully with their greater speed and someone with the speed action and other action increasing things to have more than the opponent now can dodge for free, though I like the idea of dodge fails incurring a stun. Ki spam has become absurd and something being done to ameliorate it has been long over due, I but Limiting the amount of Advanced techniques to only once a post is too limiting. I would say 2-3 would be better, and have second wave able to bypass that restriction, but only if you haven't used any advanced techniques outside of the use of second wave. This limit placed on advanced favors weapon users as they still have a number of techniques with DR they can use. I understand why people wouldn't care for such a limit but Ki spam has been ridiculous. People shouldn't be getting nuked out and going down this quickly in battle. It feels like its not feasible to go against someone relying on constant use of advanced techniques with any other play style, plus first move advantage from things like sneaks were able to become overwhelming. forum.alexsdbzrpg.com/thread/13599/chilled-eski-ref-aria forum.alexsdbzrpg.com/thread/14067/recoome-planet-saviour-eski-lilimforum.alexsdbzrpg.com/thread/13988/chilled-cauli-ref-walidforum.alexsdbzrpg.com/thread/13882/recoome-joseph-ref-puariaPhysical fighters and weapon users seem to have the advantage as of now and I think increasing the amount of advanced moves in one post to 2-3 would be better or maybe 2 advanced in a post with a 1 post cool down period before you could use advanced again. People should be able to specialized in energy or physical abilities and use one or the other more often out of preference for the respective builds and play styles, though now a fundamental meta can emerge with moves like Serafin punch being able to reach DR 4 for 1% ki

Exhausted Status affect didn't work because you'd save up the need for it until you got a chance to stun your opponent and then unload with a bunch of 1 action Advanced techniques to defeat your opponent, thus avoiding the exhaustion.

So one of the main concerns is the so-called "free dodges" with speed teleports, so I am going to roll that back for the time being so it doesn't get abused. I'm sticking with the dodge fail penalty, the advanced limits 1 per post, and the new blocking though

Is this a problem though? Overwhelming your opponent has always been part of the game. Right now, you can do that without repercussion which is a problem. With exhaustion, if you tried to do that and they survived, you would get fucked which was the point IMO.
