The general goal was to spend more time out of her head. Well, she was failing miserably with this. Again she would retreat to the astral plain and watch it paint the scenery before her. The maiden noticed amongst a few of the overall changes she was making, her mental scenery was becoming less morbid. Not yet would she place herself upon a sunny, sandy beach. But she did seem to place herself in a boundless flatland plain with a hint of mountains far along the horizon from her point of view. But she did so with plans of seeing another soul here. Perhaps shortly he would arrive. In the meantime, she willed her hair to rise up and form a bit of a bun, as she would normally do before a skirmish. She was seeking one. She could only recall his name after a bit of thought; Raiosu. He didn't seem able to resist the chance to try his abilities. She felt he would not do so here either. But for now he seemed non existent. How much longer would she wait? She seated herself with her legs folded upon the grass and planted her palms together. After that she would levitate with her eyes closed and wait for his arrival.
Raiosu walked up to the woman, mysteriously appearing in front of Kasume as if he was a ghost. But he hadn't. He remembered Kasume from their first and only spar, wondering of they were both able to use magic. He let some of his chi emanate from his palm, sticking a lighter in the middle of his palm and lighting it, the energy turning into a fire-based chi. He then thought of a general image of Kasume and the fire grew bigger. He had used this technique with Yua, if he remembered correctly.
As he slowly walked, the fire got bigger, letting him know he was getting close to the other mage. Then, when he finally saw her he began running towards her. As he got withing 5 feet of her, after running slowly up to the woman he had previously asked if she was evil, the fire of chi combusted and disappeared. "Kasume, was it?" He said, breaking the ice first.
"Are you not a mage? I need to discuss something with someone like you. See, I'm having a difficult time controlling myself... It turns out that my Saiyajin side and my 'human' side keep fighting. In my thoughts."
It seemed Raiosu was having a hard time bringing up the dwindling power of the wizard's seal on his mind, and his kind nature was beginning to fall into a slump of sorts, though he hadn't yet worked up the courage to talk about that story. Also, there was a chi signature similar to Hayami's coming from the Saiyajin's chest.
His presence started to become apparently shortly after her own meditative posture was taken. HIs approach was steady and lacking in any sort of fear. But why would he approach in fear anyway? Her eyes were closed as he approached but she could maintain awareness nonetheless. He stopped before she could give the command to do so and was quick in addressing her.
"Kasume, was it?" he said.
Her left eye opened and fixated on his position before her.
"Are you not a mage?"
There's a question that left an impression and forced her to think. During the time she made Dekalb her home, she had come to give aid to several mages; practitioners of the arts to be more correct in terms of this world. But never did she really stop to decide if she herself was of the title. But he didn't pause long enough for her to respond just yet.
"I need to discuss something with someone like you. See, I'm having a difficult time controlling myself... It turns out that my Saiyajin side and my 'human' side keep fighting. In my thoughts."
Both eyes were now open, peering upon this man with intensity. His struggle was not unknown to her. At one point she herself was part demon and fought with that side of her more frequently over time. As her heart opened up more to Kento, her own dark desired manifested themselves into a whole other person who saw fit to hunt and do unspeakable deeds to others; particularly other demons. She let her feet touch the ground and continued her silence for a moment.
"If you're about to ask me if I can restore that seal, most likely the answer is no. I can sense the unnatural barrier present in your mind. Your inability to control yourself has something to do with that seal starting to lose its hold. I clashed with my demon side for some time before I came to the decision to purge it. But this isn't as simple as that..."
She left out the part of the extraordinary circumstance that led to the purge.
"But were I to see this other side of you, I could perhaps decipher the nature of your clash. We're in a mental plain after all. So it's likely to expand your thoughts quite a bit. So why don't we start with that?"
With a forced wingspread of her arms, the emptiness around them suddenly took shape and placed them at the bottom of a canyon amidst a sunset.
"Now bring your clash outward and focus it on me," she commanded.
Her head would tilt to the right. A piece of the canyon wall ejected itself from its structure and with but a glance she set it a flame as it approached. Then she took command of it further and aimed it for Raiosu. She herself would leap upward and back looking to place herself upon the cliffside where she would be awaiting his eventual aggression.
Raiosu felt a pang of disillusionment, hearing that the seal was so far impossible to restore. But he was somewhat surprised at her, being either brave or just strong enough to try and settle the matter this way.
"OK, I'll temporarily lift my restraints." His hair turned blue, and his expression changed from amazement to a cold glare.
"So I see you're letting go of chivalry. Betraying your other you, Raiosu? Aren't we supposed to be allies, at least for now?" He spoke aloud, His hair flaring up into the air as the fiery rock came.
The Saiyajin half raised his palms and fired of a quick punch, a powerful wind colliding with and shattering the rock into pieces.
"Witch, if you're going to use those little tricks, my only recourse is to use weak attacks too. Do you expect me to take you seriously if you try doing a magic show? By the way, Raiosu, Aimee is against this. I'm just making sure you know." Bersimmon yelled, as he mentioned a familiar name to Raiosu. But why'd he say that? Where was Aimee? (184, twc 443)
