The world was a vast emptiness of black and then a pulse resonated, locking onto one person in mind. It was the pink-haired warrior reaching out to his friend and fellow warrior in combat, Rocket. The first thing to come into view was a bright light in the shape of a sphere. Inside of that was the Avatar of War sitting on the ground.
He, however, wasn't there by choice. On the Zaunite's limbs were chains as he was chained to the ground. He would be upset, but in reality he didn't seem to care at what fate did to him. His goal was to reach out to someone, someone he hadn't seen in awhile to check in on them.
"Yo Rocket," he said, hoping to pull his friend into his realm, "We need to talk."

It wasn't often that R found himself being summoned telepathically, yet here was the second mental challenge in as many weeks. He had ignored the first, having not recognized the voice but this one he was all too happy to answer.
Moments later, he appeared in the astral realm in front of his friend, Walid.
"What's up?" He responded simply.

With his friend in front of him, the pink-haired warrior moved a little. His movements caused the chains that were attached to his limbs to rattle. He didn't move to let his friend know how he was doing, but rather he was trying to sit better. When that wasn't enough, the Zaunite finally stood up.
"Oh you know," he said, "Just in a little trouble."
In his honest opinion, the Avatar of War didn't see how his actions could have warranted the punishment that was given to him. Because of that, he didn't show any signs of regret, nor any kind of sadness. Quite the contrary, he was proud of them and displayed a smug look on his face.
"Apparently the Paladins have decided that I'm a monster," he answered, "They don't trust me not to loose control and want me locked up until they've decided what to do with me."

As Walid shifted, chains on his limbs rattled and called attention to themselves. R was confused for a moment - this was the astral realm, why were the chains still there.
"I mean," said R, "what do you expect from a bunch of uptight do-gooders? You need a jail break?"

A bunch of uptight do-gooders... that was a good description of the type of people that the Zaunite teamed up with. There were some he respected and some who did nothing but live to a strict set of rules. Of course the ones he liked followed said rules as well, but they weren't uptight about it whenever he chose not to. It was apparent that his ways and theirs differed greatly.
"You're not wrong about that," he said, "They definitely don't know how to have some fun. And I don't need a jailbreak at this moment. If they want to go to war with me, than I won't go without a fight."
And then he remembered someone who was on the side of good, someone whom he felt would complicate things. She was in no way ready to face him, but the same could be said about the Zaunite.
"Did you know that I have a daughter who fights with them?" he asked, unsure if he even told his friend about his family, "I can't imagine what's going on in her head right now."

"You're shackled in a prison ... seems like the going down part has already largely happened."
Walid seemed to pause for a moment, thinking about something else.
"You have a daughter? How come I've never met her?"
Jax — 05/07/2021
"Oh this?" he asked, showing the shackles on him, "I'm not a prisoner, these are to make sure I don't unleash my full power. I apparently go too far sometimes."
It was true, or at least to the Avatar of War's knowledge, that his friend had never met his child. It's not because he was hiding her from people or the like. The simple explanation was he was afraid to have her around, showing a look of fear on his face.
"I try to keep her away from my life the best I can. I want to keep her innocent and away from the dangers I have to do. The things I've witnessed, I don't want her to also see it," he answered, "She stays mostly on Avalon from what I know, trying to figure out more about either her mother or me."

"Too far," R repeated as thought it was a foreign concept. He immediately thought of Emi and laughed to himself, "you should enlist in the Shadowguard, we don't know the meaning of the word."
"You do you," R said, having exactly zero knowledge of child rearing, "who's her mum? Would finding out too much be dangerous for her?"
