“Heh, quite some spunk for someone as young as you,” The Primeval calmly accepted the gesture of the Damaskian, allowing himself to be dragged back onto his feet by the young man, with a soft chuckle, he waved his hand in the air, his entire attire changing to a more comfortable and somber looking three-piece suit, with a black shirt and purple tie. He removed the pair of glasses which had still been adorning his face despite the entire onslaught, combing his hair backwards as he let out an audible sigh. Halcyon turned his back at the Damaskian, looking up towards the two blue suns, as he listened to what the young man wished to know.
“My goal, hmm?” He had always lived simply with the knowledge that his destiny was to see the end of all creation, it had spurned him into becoming the literal embodiment of destruction. However, with all these strong warriors having popped up in his absence, simply waging war or seeking to control the way that end would arrive had become somewhat of a rather difficult if not impossible task without the capacity and immeasurable power of his true body. “One could say my true goal is to find something which belongs to me, something which has been stolen from me a long, long time ago.”
Hearing the young man mention the fact that there were those within the shadow guard who were to be considered even more dangerous than the damaskian himself, the Primeval’s eyes turned dark, his sclera becoming black as the iris’ of his eyes turned purple with silver slit pupils adorning them. “Do you really think I am afraid of those puppets who might wield more power than this decrepit vessel I now inhabit? Even if they were to turn this vessel into ash, rip it to shreds, I wouldn't matter, the only one that has my true interest is that brat Pendragon.”
Rei — Today at 5:54 PM
Halcyon didn't see that what he said gave much more away than he might have thought. The retired mercenary had seen, heard, and read much. That he missed the opportunity to betray Damaskia was unfortunate for him- though Lucas held no personal love for Pendragon- he didn't want an end to the universe. But the biggest mistake was to speak of vessels. "Hoh?" While he looked young in the sense of a human, Lucas was in his thirties, a property of the Damaskian race or his Chaos Seed, the answer to that was not something he wanted to ask. "I see, you look at the Chaos Council and those that command the armies as puppets, then?"
But that his purpose made him a puppet of his own didn't seem to dawn on the creature. Utterly ironically, he didn't try to have his own purpose. He walked a path that that Lucas assessed as futility. The end of the universe was trivial to the higher powers in some ways. Another time line, another universe, to the true king of existence, that was small. At least in Lucas's opinion. He didn't know any person that didn't see themselves as the protagonist in their own story. But now the hunt was on to find Halcyon's greatest treasure: his original body. And destroy it or turn it feeble. Useless to any plans he might have. "Then so long as you don't betray my expectations, I'll just keep an eye on you." The sound was between amusement and a threat. Something he'd find out one of his best friends did often.
"I wouldn't discount those powers, but the way. I don't think you've found them all out, just like I haven't." Lucas turned as he looked about Rath. He turned back with a small smile on his face, "Does this planet still exist?" It was another tone that Halcyon would have to decide if it was a threat or amusement. If his vessel was held on Rath, did he really think it could stay there now? Lucas could easily destroy the planet if he chose to.

“Of course I view them as puppets,” Halcyon almost let out a chuckle when hearing the Damaskian’s question. Tapping on the ground with a foot, he reached with a hand into the sky, making a gesture as if he wanted to snuff out one of the moons. “We all have a purpose, thus we are all puppets to that purpose, slaves to some nuisance my brother dared to call destiny. I turned on my kin, I waged war against my brethren, all in the act of defying this...so-called destiny.”
Countless lives had been lost during the wars he had waged, his own kin had fallen due to their division, the angels nearly wiped out, demons gone into hiding, the leviathans locked away in the void between the universes. He had done so much and seen so much in his attempt to defy the Truth which had been given to him and in due time, with the eons passing, the Primeval, the Firstborn, the Progenitor had come to realize that even He, who had seen the beginning of all creation, was but a slave, a puppet to his own Truth.
“All I can do is either bring the end myself or sit back and watch it happen,” The man let out a deep sigh, turning his attention towards Lucas. “But for now...I reckon my best bet is the latter. You see, I’ve gotten a bit attached to the idea of being alive...in a certain sense and if creation would end, I would assume, I would also end. So for now, I simply seek out the things most likely to act as a catalyst for such an apocalyptic scenario.”
Images of a monstrous, deformed Rauga from Arlia formed within the astral realm, a gem pulsating with ominous light and draining life out of other beings, an ever mutating creature injected with the replicated cells of a primeval. “These are but minor incidents to deal with...but imagine...if someone managed to harness such violent power...someone like Pendragon?”
Rei — Today at 7:01 PM
The Damaskian wasn't really all that bothered to speak of the creatures of creation. There was probably a moment that the demon would see, that would pass, as the Damaskian placed his thumb and things to his chin. "Puppets, is it? There's one such 'puppet' that ripped it's strings off, though I haven't met her... it... myself. A friend of mine has an android that broke free of everything that bound her to the 'destiny' that she had been forced into, known her whole life. In addition..." His grey eyes narrowed as he placed both hands out and grabbed both moons.
"By waging the war against your kin, let's call this the first Kin Strife, you only hastened the end, have you not?" By killing anything that was meant to bring life, he made this harder. By killing and waging death and ruin, he brought that ruin closer. Lucas brought his hands down before he smiled lightly. Giant locusts formed on the surface, ten feet tall, as he pointed out, "There was a release of these ancient creatures on Arlia a few years back. I was part of a merc team at the time, hired to assist in the defense of the planet. K'chain Malle, or something like that. Tough as nails, led by nine of their remaining chieftains.
But the worst part was what the aliens of another sector of the universe brought. A Dark Star, something rather similar to that all consuming white light. Instead, anti-light ate so much that it started to form. A creature that was meant to eat everything, make this universe nothing. Barren worlds, even the energy of creation taken. All to make a being that would have been left in the world. It was stopped by people that didn't want it to die. They said a god discarded his godly power and destroyed the creature."
He pointed to Halcyon, "I assume it wasn't your doing? But if you believe that you are stuck in a loop of puppetry and use, you won't be able to fight that destiny that you bring to fruition. By fighting what you think was a war to go against your purpose, you only bring it closer. From what I know, from what I've seen. There's no way my mortal mind could probably understand it all, though, right?" Lucas was still young, yes, but he wasn't a fool. To fight towards a purpose or against, that didn't mean that even the Primevil saw the macro of it all. At least to his mind.
Credius — Today at 7:13 PM
"An android is perhaps much closer to the understanding of my kin, than you might realize, as they too know their purpose," Halcyon laughed at the idea of actually comparing himself to an android, but relatively speaking it may actually not have been that farfetched. On the other hand though, simply changing one single digit in an android's code could effectively remove their purpose, free them from it. However, that was different from how it worked for him, as he couldn't just change some simple number in an equation and... "Wait a moment..."
He thought about it, what the Damaskian said, there was a point in all of it, a method to the madness, but in the end what he said was true, his wars had deminished the numbers, it had threatened the multiverse twice with near extinction and even now his legacy could be felt. However, he did not say that he simply embraced his destiny, it seemed that that part had eluded the Damaskian.
"Well...no," The Primeval sighed, listening to how some monstrocity had managed to threaten the universe in his absense. It sounded rather interesting, almost akin to the leviathans or Voracious eaters, different, but still similar. However, if a mere god or whatever did call themselves a god these days was capable of destroying such a creature, it may have been something else entirely. After all, what Halcyon knew of the beings that called themselves 'gods' these days, he'd call it quite the grandiose thought of inferior beings. "You may be correct, that in my foolish fear and hatred, I inevitably turned the tide against me...facilitating the very means to further my purpose and to strip me of the very power that could stop it."
The irony wasn't lost on the Primeval, who simply started laughing. "To be honest, every story has an end. If it happens now or within a hundred eons, I will be there to witness it. The question now would simply be...how to prevent the story from ending sooner than desired?"
Rei — Today at 9:15 PM
Lucas smiled, but it wasn't one of victory. The purpose would remain unknown, though, as he frowned. "You might meet her, though I'm not sure how she'll react. Since she's not with the robotics program..." Well, to be honest, wasn't she a Paladin? The Damaskian wondered just a moment before he pointed at Halcyon. "Embracing your purpose only works if you are all-in. But I don't see you manipulating Damaskian to annihilate the universe. Beasts you placed away might have already been released and slain, for example." Just because he placed them away didn't exactly mean they stayed that way. There were beings that could access the spaces between dimensions. "For example, those aliens that brought out a starving Dark Star, as they called it."
He waved his hand the locust creature blew away like dust before he tilted his head. "How to delay the end of the universe, huh?" He then smiled a bit wickedly. "The issue is what the 'end' means, of course." He sauntered over to an ice spike that he pulled from the ground and leaned against that. "I see why this is such a dark concept. Without a concrete answer, that leaves your truth up in the air. Or..." He pulled a coin from his pocket and flicked it towards Halcyon, "Can you choose the answer?"
That was something that he might have wrestled with before he added, "If you seek the end, couldn't that be the 'end of creation', or perhaps the 'end of the age of creation'? Both have vastly different meanings. The first is probably the end of life as mortal creatures know it. But the other...I'd assume that the age of wild experimentation and creation is over. What do you think?" Halcyon was certainly a puzzle, one that Lucas decided he wanted to look into.
Credius — Today at 9:59 PM
“You’re right on that one, I don’t manipulate Damaskia at all nor do I have anything to do with the Voracious eaters, the leviathans or what this Dark star you mentioned might be,” The Primeval wondered though, if this young man truly understood just how pointless that would be. Ever since it had appeared, Damaskia had been central to too many wars to count, the lust for power and domination within the Pendragon line was remarkable and eclipsed even that of the changelings. “As for beings traversing the void between the universes, of course there are those that can, angels, some demons, and at least two Damaskians...should that interest you, hmm?”
“If the idea of the end is an abstract concept, it might be anything,” The ancient being let out a sigh, his lips curling into somewhat of a sinister grin. As the coin was tossed his way, he grabbed it and spun it around his fingers. “The end of the age of creation, I like the sound of that, but then again, that would imply more than you can possibly imagine, but I do like the mystique of it.”
Flipping the coin into the air, Halcyon wondered if he had ever even considered an alternative idea to the concept of the “end”. Looking at Lucas, he tilted his head a bit sideways. “I used to know a woman who you resemble a bit, she second guessed all my plans, always asking me whether my views on everything weren’t influenced by my own desires and my own designs. If you truly want to know my motivations...find Rath, find the Tomb of Ur-alcyonis and you’ll see why Damaskia is so important to me.”
Feeling the Astral realm’s resistance kicking in, the primeval tapped the Sigil of the shadowguard adorned on his chest with his right index finger. “The shadow tomb on Mortoseth will lead you to Rath, the key...is already in your hands, I guess.” With those words, Halcyon made a swift bow before vanishing from the astral realm all together.
Rei — Today at 10:10 PM
Lucas stuck on the cold world for a few moments before mad giggles started for the young-looking man. He grinned, mad with intrigue, as he looked at where the demon had been. He was silent, quiet to a degree that Halcyon might have found strange, considering their recent exchange. But that was the mystery of it, right? Lucas turned and looked at the icy blue moons of Rath, and slowly snaked his left arm towards the left-most moon.
"The ability to live as long as Halcyon has. The dispair that goes along with that... mmm, that sounds delicious." Lucas, after all, was unhinged in a great many ways. He always displayed a calm face to others, but if Halcyon had stayed, to get a look, he'd have seen the grey eyes turn a deep emerald as his skin bleached to white hues. Only his face would have shown that, but it would have been enough to give the demon an idea of what lay within the Damaskian. "So, what will I do with you," he asked himself as he turned and looked over as the dust from earlier formed into the Scholar demon Kotarou.
Why Kotarou? The answer was simple: that creature was not who he used to be in Lucas's mercenary company. He was that godly being darkly reborn. The dark pheonix, as it was. A twisted returning as a creature of the void and of heaven, as the Dark Star and it's energy couldn't really be destroyed. No, that energy simply latched into that creature. He kept tabs on the demon through the dark heaven war that had just ended, that was mislabeled as a demon invasion. Yes, Kotarou was probably the key to finding out some answers for Lucas. That Dark Star could have been one of those 'in-between' beings.
The Damaskian waved the icy dust away as he allowed his being to fade from the realm. "The question is...will Halcyon find him first?"
