The woman hung over the toilet bowl, black liquid splattering across the white surface of the toilet as she coughed loudly. It was too soon, it seemed that the corruption had already started to settle in, which was never a good sign. Luckily this vessel wasn't some random husk the primeval had pulled together in desperation. She knew there would be some discomfort along the road, she even knew how it would start and how it would end...but unlike last time, she had time, she had clues to reach her goal and most importantly, she had a powerful asset that wouldn't just throw away what they had gained from her. Slumping down next to the bown, Halsey reached for something she had been keeping in her clothes, that simple red gem on a chain which would allow her to escape this annoying situation. She closed her eyes, let her mind drift and vanished into the astral realm...
Balial — 24/08/2021
Vegeta had recently left the field of battle where he had encountered the strange woman- Mona. She was a witch- or wizard, with a foul mouth and horrid personality. To top off her persona she had no manners nor decency as a woman. However, the Prince showed no mercy in his fight, that was until the end. Her power had done more than just impressed him, in fact he was struck with curiosity. With his battle finally ended he felt rather uncertain about his actions and still he wanted to blow off some steam.
Drifting into his dreams he let his mind linger into the astral realm, a realm where he could unleash his true power. That's when he felt it, the strange and familiar power of Haclyon- now known as Halsey Ona. Latching onto her consciousness he allowed his mind to manifest before her. "Woman," he said with a scoff as his eyes fell over her sick frame. "Wait, what's wrong with you?"
Credius — 24/08/2021
Her eyes flared up for a moment, feeling a presence she almost had manifested her scythe to cut down the one who appeared into the void where she had managed to manifest her own self, yet she had manifested herself as she was in the mortal realm, meaning that those with keen senses could see the splatters of black liquid on her clothes and the wiped streak near the corners of her mouth of the same liquid.
Noticing that it was Vegeta, the one man she truly did not want to see in this state, Halsey pressed her hand against her head, tilting it backwards as she laughed. "The usual...just the usual," Standing up and looking around, she actually only now realized that she had already passed the threshold into the astral realm, not sitting in the bathroom stall of some backwater hotsprings facility. "I mean really, considering the fact you should have seen 'THAT'... I gathered you already know that none of these vessels truly last long, no matter how well they're made."
Balial — 24/08/2021
"I had my assumptions," said the Prince with a passing word. "Though that is honestly none of my business." Trying to steer the conversation away from the clearly swore topic the Prince waved his hand through the air. Before the two warriors a fine oak table with strange runes etched into the wood appeared.
"So, I had a chance to finally test out a bit of the power you bestowed upon me. Care to hear?"
Credius — 24/08/2021
Utilizing the freedom of the Astral realm in the same way as the prince did, the Primeval removed any and all signs of her vessel's beginning deterioration, sat down and leaned forward on the table Vegeta had just conjured up. with a wicked grin upon her face, Halsey expressed some serious interest. "Well now, did you? Do go on..."
Balial — 24/08/2021
"It was quite..... Overwhelming to say the least- for them of course." Vegeta said with a grin, two chalices appearing in each palm. "Drink as I spin the tale." Vegeta said, lifting his glass in a half assed toast.
"So it was against some witch, the letter was signed... Mona I believe." He began with a smile. "I wanted to start off slow, warm up the ol' Saiyan Blood, but even I wasn't expecting the power that I was able to summon." The tale seemed truthful from his words thus far. "Truth be told she didn't land a single blow on me- even the one that she did almost manage I could have dodged with ease."
Credius — 24/08/2021
Accepting the chalice, Halsey calmly listened as the prince started to talk about someone he had fought. To hear him call this woman a witch was...interesting at the very least, even if she was incapable of properly facing the man in front of her, a witch meant they'd be someone with magical powers and for any primordial being, be it a demon, a celestial or a primeval...that was always both an interesting fact and a threat. "Perhaps...she wasn't accustomed to a proper fight, most certainly not against someone like you who lives and breathes war and combat like those inferior beings do air."
Halsey wondered though, with such a sense for combat, such a drive to gain more power, face stronger, more powerful opponents...when would this man's hunger be satiated, if it would ever be. "So, you triumphed against a woman with most likely no fighting experience of any kind...even if they would be strong, without the knowledge and talent...I reckon that would've left you rather pissed, no?"
Balial — 25/08/2021
"You know I thought the same thing at first, but there was something about her. It wasn't just her appearance, it was the nature of her ki. It was.... Different." Vegeta said deep in thought as he lifted the chalice to his lips and took the first sip of his drink.
"You're correct," Vegeta said drably. "I felt no sense of accomplishment from that battle." His voice lingered on for a moment as he lifted the drink once more and slammed the chalice down. "I am beginning to think there is no one worth fighting in this world. Hell, the Paladins and Shadowguard have some mighty fine warriors- but even they seem to uptight to appreciate a good fight." He lowered his head as he sighed with sorrow.
"Maybe I have reached my limits."
Credius — 25/08/2021
"Different, hmm.." that made the Primeval wonder if it was divine ki, but that would be rather unconventional and illogical. Maybe it was simply magic, given Vegeta did call this opponent he faced a witch, so that may have been the case. Alas, it seemed that Vegeta's mood was turning rather dejected, which was kind of surprising to behold. "Bullshit... saiyans shouldn't be reaching their limits that easy. The shadowguard do have a bunch of strong people in their ranks, but their guided by that brat of a Pendragon..."
Halsey sighed, placed down the chalice upon the table and started tapping her fingers upon the carved wood. "Maybe for once...you don't need to be looking outward, but inward. You've been toiling for your empire...but in reality, can you really call it YOUR empire?"
Balial — Yesterday at 03:29
"Don't be absurd," Vegeta spat as he kicked back in his chair and allowed the realm to fill his glass with the sweet scent of liquor. "Of course it's not my Empire. The whole damn kingdom is my father's." He lifted his glass and pressed it against his lips until crimson liquid began to flow into his throat. With a loud "ah" he turned back to Halsey.
"Please, continue." He said halfheartedly, his eyes trained on her now.
Credius — Yesterday at 09:40
"It's simple isn't it...your father may have been a great warrior in his prime, but it is obvious that he lacked the quality of leadership and strategy, something he burdened Luther with..." Halsey leaned back slightly, tapping the wood on the table to let the message sink in a bit. "They're both no longer in their prime, they've been making mistake after mistake. Is it not that while you work the hardest, you are not the one benefitting the most...though you have many ideas, I reckon in the end they'd only get a pass when the old man approves them...but does he approve of your efficiency and your methods?"
Balial — Today at 18:03
The words entered the young prince’s mind like a plague. Sowing seeds of doubt and anarchy throughout his memories. Every single time his father had scolded him suddenly became evident that the king was jealous of the prince. His power, his potential, Vegeta know that his father saw what the king lacked was in the prince.
“Interesting,” the prince said nonchalantly. “Although I fear you’re wrong. My father is a great warrior and a better king.” Vegeta hid behind his words as the tiny seed that Halsey planted slowly took root and began to grow
Credius — Today at 18:13
A better king and a great warrior, that was what the prince called the old bearded fool. He had BEEN a great warrior and perhaps could've been seen as a good king at some point in his lifetime, but Halsey had seen the king in action, had both fought at the man's side and against him. That king had grown soft and ignorant, relying on initial talent rather than hard work, prefering the council of those with brawn rather than brain.
Halsey had been through a similar stage of idiocy, it killed her in a certain sense, as she too had learned the folly of her ways. It was true, King vegeta in the end...was a fool. "How would I be wrong, my prince? Do you not earn the respect of your kin by battling alongside them, by leading them to victory...now tell me, when did you father last LEAD from the front rather than the back?"
Balial — Today at 18:21
“But a few months ago.” Vegeta said with a scoff, lifting his glass to his lips once more. “He single handedly stood against the invaders to allow the Saiyans to relocate after a surprise invasion. Our forces were stretched thin. Our people’s will shattered. Yet he stood alone against them all. Until finally he had fallen in battle. It was the efforts of his royal guard captain that freed him.”
The prince already knew what might follow, a king falling in battle- how sad. “I know he fell in battle. But that is to be expected when sacrificing yourself for your people.”
Still even after the words left his lips he couldn’t help but feel the seed growing. Was the king’s time as ruler over ?
Credius — Today at 18:34
For a moment Halsey sighed, slowly placing the chalice on the table. Tilting her head a bit, she looked straight into the saiyan prince's eyes, not saying a word as she reached for his chin with her left hand, the tips of her fingers gently reaching to his skin. "My poor delusional boy...where is that pride, that ambition?" Her eyes, her expression was exactly the same as it was during their first meeting, completely unfaltering even in the presence of someone who by all accounts would be able to snuff her out like the flame of a candle. "Where is your empire, what does it consist of, besides a few miserable scraps of spacedust? As long as you kneel down before that man with no ambition, no pride...how do you see your race prosper?"
Balial — Today at 18:40
Swatting her hand away the prince jerked his chin from her grasp. “Silence fool. I won’t expect a snake like yourself to understand the pride and loyalty the Saiyans hold. The man saved our race from extinction.” Holding his tongue for a moment he sighed.
“But some of your words shed a semblance of truth.”
Credius — Today at 18:46
"That man never saved you or your kind..." With her hand being swatted aside, Halsey momentarily blinked and looked at said hand, before showing a rather sinister smile on her face. "But you can, don't you?"
With that being said, she tapped with a finger on the table and chuckled out loud. "Who's fit to lead the saiyans? A King waiting for his end or a King waiting to be the start of a new era?"
Balial — Today at 19:05
“Stop spewing these words woman. I no longer wish to hear such things.” Vegeta’s temper began to rise as he thought on her lingering voice. She was right. Maybe it was time he came forth.
“There are those who lead and those who’s place is on the field of battle.” He paused for a moment. “I am a warrior. So for now I must explore this path until I find another.”
Credius — Today at 19:12
This was the astral realm, a place where a person's mind had the absolute control over their form, their mind, their image. Halsey knew this, sighing yet again as the Prince's obstinate nature seemed to get to her nerves. This man's intellect was hampered by the inability to see the bigger picture, the very reason why he needed to become king rather than languish as a prince...it was all for her sake, not his. She needed him to become more powerful, not just physically, but politically as well, Halsey needed the PERFECT pawn.
Thus by utilizing the properties of the astral realm, her connection to the prince through her blood, her form began to change. First she shifted to her former form, then to that of a wicked looking changeling, a saiyan, another demon, a human, a celestial, an angel, another demon...reverting herself, her image, her form through time. "So many have weighed my words with caution, so many have dismissed them as lies, so many have ignored my council...but those who did heed my words, those who realized the value of my words..."
A massive shadow seemed to fill up the astral realm, a pair of eyes larger than suns looked down upon the prince, before suddenly just right in front of him, Halsey snapped her fingers with a smile on her face. "Those who did value my words...became what they were always meant to be."
"gods"
Balial — Today at 19:27
His eyes flashed with curiosity as the forms began to shift and twist with each new personality that Halsey had manifested. Until one, a certain Saiyan that struck Vegeta with the upmost pride. Something was strange about him, but even the prince couldn't place his finger on it. That was until her final word. Gods, was it possible that Halsey was linked to Yamoshi? After all there was only one Saiyan god, Yamoshi the Father of the Great Apes. The sole reason the Saiyans held power. Was it possible this was all due to the council of the primordial ?
"That Saiyan, do you know his name?" Vegeta asked slowly, placing his chalice against the table, but in all reality it took every ounce of luck to have not dropped it from his grasp at first.
Credius — Today at 19:36
The primeval's lips curled into a smile when hearing the prince's reaction, her eyes closing slowly. "You know how long I've lived...how long I've wandered this universe...they'd have to have done something amazing for me to remember them...but who knows...one day it might all come back to me, wouldn't that be nice?"
Balial — Today at 19:54
Vegeta narrowed his eyes and couldn’t believe the words he heard. Halsey, the one who could redo all her forms of previous host and those who she council suddenly couldn’t remember names.
“Right then. Maybe one day you can grant me the name. Wouldn’t that be nice. So is there anything else we need from each other at the moment ?”
Credius — Today at 19:56
The Primeval couldn't help but chuckle at the Prince's response, showing a rather sinisterly gleeful expression before reverting back to some normalcy in her façade. "well...if there isn't another drink...I guess we're fine for now."
Balial — Today at 20:05
“Great. Then I’ll take my leave. “ standing the prince said nothing else, instead he just allows his mind to separate from the connection. Leaving himself with his slumbered thoughts and a seed that would one day grow into something more sinister than anything he had done to date.
