A Dance in the Dark [Maze/Morrigan [W]vs. Joe/Mona][Ref:A17]

Joseph stood in front of Mona. He stood slightly hunched over, panting as the fatigue and pain from his injuries were starting to set in; his gui and pants were riddled in taters. His clothes gave off smoke at various points along his upper body from the residual heat of Mazikeen’s precarious assault. When Mona continued to reason with the two women, something she said made him turn over, wearing his exhaustion and fatigue on his face. “Before?” Joseph asked, genuinely confused.

However, he understood the latter part of the negotiation and didn’t entertain it. “The Kai’s didn’t even pay me for Valhalla, and I’m certainly not paying these two.” It seemed the offer fell on deaf ears as they continued to attack, and Mona sent out some of her artifacts to buy much-needed time. Joseph took a moment to take a few steady breaths and correct his posture. Mazikeen only seemed to delve further into lunacy as her speech declined and became more broken than before. It was unsettling. Even when she came in belligerent at the jump, she initially came off as sensible to a degree, and now she was almost mindless in her desire to inflict and receive pain. Joseph exerted his ki veiling himself in a milky white field of ki that outlined his body to fortify himself against inevitable upcoming punishment.

She announced her intention to continue attacking and pressing the boy to feed into her masochism. Why did he keep encountering creepy women on this planet? First a sadomasochistic Android, and now these two. She mimicked the maneuver that he had performed before bursting forward. Joseph braced himself to deal with the attack, but Mona came forward in a flash and blocked the attack for him. This relieved him, and he wasn’t sure if he had the constitution to take much more; thankfully, with the endurance gained from super Saiyan 2 and the protective energies he transferred, she was able to withstand it without too much harm.

The wild demoness bounced into the air, drawing his gaze to the sky before she suddenly vanished. He frantically looked around before looking down to the sight of claws coming right towards his eyes. Joseph’s instincts drove him to lean back, slightly widening the distance. He focused for a moment on Mona’s energy, and in an instant, he popped from where he was behind Mona escaping the reach of Mazikeen’s claws.

The sister made her move, bursting towards the boy before disappearing from his sights. He faced forward with his eyes scanning each side, seeing her appear before him again and make two slashes that formed an X of energy that moved straight towards him. Joseph could tell by its shape that this technique behaved like a bladed weapon. His experience from fighting Puar and later fighting alongside Chenga made him wary of the devastation of such attacks. Just as the attack was about to make contact, he disappeared, giving off a flicker of blue sparks before reappearing again.

The ashy-haired woman split into three, with the second rushing towards him and sending the blade towards him with a massive downward swing. Joseph rose his arms above his head. Upon contact with the edge, a shockwave and loud crash erupted around them. Joseph kneeled as he submitted to Morrigan’s strength. The white veil flickered for a brief moment. When she rose, the blade up Joseph rose from his lowered posture. When she prepared her sword for the next set of swings, he rotated his shoulder in the way of it. At the moment of impact, he loosened up and let the blade knock his back, dispersing most of the force, though the blade still grazed him and sent a jolt through his arm that he felt throbbing through his bicep and shoulder. The Demi-Earthling rolled back and got back to his feet, raising his arms against the second and third swing with each making him skid further away, each impact making his veil flicker and wan in volume.

The exact moment he came to a stop, Morrigan went in for a final swing, this time aimed at his ribs. Joseph jumped back from his rear leg to escape the giant sword but couldn’t quite escape the edge which gashed him at his side, opening a burning, stinging wound, as the layer of energy shattered into small pieces before fading away. Joseph grunted and grasped his side, which felt like it had a 1000 degree knife lodged in. Mona showed that the sisters exhausted her patience. She clamored on how this had to end before she chanted the name of the Turtle Hermits famous technique, before casting a destructive wave of energy, then sending out two more with each reprise of its last syllable. She then topped it off with one more blast aimed at the second clone. She was right; this had to end, or this fight could end up overtaxing the defenses of the academy and lead to another disaster like the battle between Chaos and one of his cohorts against Yan and Juch.

Joseph towards Morrigan prime before flash stepping to her, once he was at arms-length, he clapped in front of his face. It may or may not have startled her, but she would suddenly experience dizziness and feel like she could faint. The Demi-Earthling then took two leaps back, landing next to Mona. He cupped his hand as am azure orb of energy formed in his hands, emitting beams between his fingers as it expanded, its brilliant luminescence shining against him and Mona and expandings its brightness to the vampires. Kaaaaa-Meeeeee-Haaaaaaa-Meeeee-. Joseph threw his hands forward, taking aim at the second Morrigan. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!. A large beachball sized blast launched from his hands. It would slam intothe clone, threatening to ravage her with an unrelenting force made up of the beam's immense heat, friction, and concussive force before it eventually detonating and exploding against her body.

Joseph raised his hands over his head and released a large scarlet pillar of red light that shot straight into the sky. When it reached the clouds, the beam stopped rising, its trail followed, and it condensed into a ball before before expanding in width and volume,  spreading to take a form akin to a massive red cloud that loomed over the battlefield. Joseph's gold aura flared and surrounded him. He slightly rose off the ground as he spread his arms. Cosmic Starstorm! The crimson storm flashed before a dozen scarlet bolts rained down on the vampiric adversaries. Each one was making the gravity feel immensely strong as they neared the ground. If any of them made contact with the ground, it would cause an earthquake that resonated through the academy and the capital city and leave a crater wherever they hit the ground. The lights of the academy would flicker for a second as the power was being strained before the systems refocused energy to strengthen the defenses.


It may have seemed like a reckless move, but Joseph had researched the events leading to crater city and its technology. These were defenses created with Yan’s level of power in mind and the incident involving the cosmic emperor. They were made to withstand powers of their caliber, and Joseph knew that the defenses could withstand his power, it was pushing it, but the students and faculty had already been well vacant from this area of the campus grounds. The blast continued to pepper down, sending an immense shockwave, and making heatwaves all around, uprooting trees and burning their leaves to cinders, cracking windows in the buildings surrounding them. After the final blast rained down from the storm, the red cloud began to shrink in volume and slowly faded. Joseph slowly lowered to the ground, hunched over and panting. He looked forward, waiting for the smoke to settle and hoping that last attack had been enough.

Mona didn’t want to fight anymore. She had blown her metaphorical load and used more ki than she thought she’d ever had to do in a battle before. Yet here she was still forced to fight by nature of her allegiance to Joseph. “It’s not too late to get out of here, I think I can get us out of here if you want to give fleeing a try,” she told him as he did everything he could to absorb the damage of the multiple morrigans who kept slashing at her repeatedly. Joseph wasn’t able to defend against the third round of slashes so Mona sighed and snapped her fingers.

Time froze around Mona as the slashes came her way. She didn’t have much “time” to work with but she took a moment to observe Morrigan’s figure and gave a satisfactory nod. If she was defeated at least it was going to be by someone decent looking, unlike that saiyan she’d lost to before. That guy was short and uggo.

“now, onto business,” she thought. She pressed her chest against the back of Joseph’s head and channeled healing energies into him. She then jumped out of the wany of Morrigan’s endless assault and positioned herself several dozen meters away from both Morrigan and Mazikeen. She then took out a senzu bean and ate it after chewing it thoroughly.

Time abruptly began flowing once more. “Fuck, I wasn’t fast enough to do everything I wanted…” was her first thought, but it was okay because she wasn’t getting whalloped anymore. She tossed a green orb at Mazikeen and then guzzled down an energy drink. These were basically the only helpful items she had left in her pockets. If they needed more they were probably fucked!

Joseph stayed beside Mona after releasing the volley of ki blast at the two sisters; the playful Maze made a game of dodging his shots using her enhanced speed, though her managing to evade didn’t surprise him given the speed she displayed earlier when she first deployed the acceleration spell. However, Morrigan was not able to avoid them in such a way. Still, Mazikeen berated his failure to shoot her and said they couldn’t play video games together and even questioning his skills in the battlefront.

Before he could vouch for his skills in the battlefront, Mazikeen pulled out a rocket launcher from seemingly out of nowhere, sticking her tongue out as she took aim and fired. The Demi-Earthling only had time to raise his arms to guard against the initial blast, which blew him, and ripped his gray gui to shreds, and knocked him back, leaving him on the ground and open to be slammed with a second explosive shot that sent him tumbling across the ground. He quickly generated a blue veil of ki to replace the one that shattered as he jumped to the side to avoid the third shot though he was still caught in the explosion. He gritted his teeth as explosive force crashed and traveled up and down his body. The fourth shot sent him stumbling and knocked him down, for the fifth and final shot to connect, swallowing him in an explosion, burning and turning his clothes, and burning his skin. 

The Demi-Earthling coughed as he rolled to the side and got himself back to his feet. He held his wrist together with his palms half-open as he released another torrent of blasts at the two sisters. “I’m going to try to take Morrigan out of the fight. Help me set this up.” At that, Joseph cupped his hands together and lowered his stance. Kaaaaa-Meeeeeee. A dark red ball of light emerged between his palms, emitting beams between the space of his fingers, expanding in size and brilliance as he chanted each syllable of the attack's name. Joseph then suddenly disappeared as he zipped side to side around the two sisters, leaving a hollow image of him before appearing somewhere else in a blink.Haaaaaaaaaaa-Meeeeeeee the ball expanded to the size of a basketball and covered the entire area in red light, the grounds beneath the fights tremoring under the force of his raw power. The boy appeared above Morrigan and threw his hands forward. Still, no beam would come out, the after image would disappear, and immediately after, Joseph would be right at her feet on the ground and launch his hands forward,Haaaaaaaaaaaa! He fired the large red beam to engulf and overtake the vampiric woman. Even if she rose a guard against it, the residual energy from the blast would detonate shortly after, hitting her with an explosive surprise.
