Legion: Combat Rune | Mazikeen: Combat Rune
Balial — 09/21/2021
Abel drifted, his mind clouded by a tempest of souls as screams howled through his head like a raging wind. Pain spiked through his head, hitting temple and surging to the back of his right eye as the grip of Hades tightened.
This was a constant struggle, an everyday event that he had to deal with- for the moment he tried to relax he knew Hades would take control. How long had it been now? Far more than centuries, possibly eons? Who even knew who Abel- no Legion- was anymore.
Rather it was the first human to be slain, Abel, or the first King of Hell, Hades, both were bound to one another. Stuck in a constant struggle for dominance not just against one another, but even with the thousands of souls that were bound with them.
So Legion took his mind somewhere safe, somewhere he could relax while still maintaining some form of control. The astral realm.
The world around him formed to a fitting scene. Green glass danced in the gentle breeze. Buildings stretched out in the distance wider than they were tall. Ivory pillars revealed their age and the Greek like structure eluded to a simpler time for Abel. With a sigh he plopped down into the grass and used his arms as pillows as he took a moment to gather his thoughts and quite the storm.

The astral realm was always a place of instant satisfaction to those who struggled with mental angst. Mazikeen knew this well. She had only wished that she could have an outlook of life similar to her older sister, Morrigan, but that was not the case. Mazikeen saw the world through a darker lens. Mazikeen saw the shadows and the creepy insect that only appeared at night. Her upbringing by the man she hated to call father did this to her.
She did not know why the man was harder on her than he was on Morrigan. The type of training that Mazikeen went through and had to endure twisted her mind. They were more like tortures than they were exercises of improvement. Her mental state always wavered when she failed to meditate and clear her mind, and so she did just that.
Her meditation slipped her into the realm. Mazikeen opened her eyes and took note that she was connected with someone else. The grass flowed almost like water in the breeze. That very same breeze gently cooled her skin and she hummed in satisfaction at the perfection in temperature. This felt more like the outlook her sister would have, and it was refreshing to escape the dark thoughts that she knew were waiting for her in her own astral projected realm.
She had never been to Earth and the fact that this was such an Old style Greek setting went over her head. Mazikeen sat up with a grunt that turned more into a sigh of relief as she finished putting stress on her legs to get up. She began to walk for a moment only to see a man lying down with his arms acting as a pillow.
Her dark hair ran down to her back and her clothing revealed major portions of her skin, yet only behind a see-through veil. The important private areas were easily covered with denser fabric. It was not a hard tell to catch that she was oozing with succubus like energies, but they were severely suppressed. One thing that Mazikeen always had done was keep those erotic aromas and auras in check.
Unlike the most common of succubi, or vampires which she was part of as well, she did not relish in attention. It was just unfortunate that such energies could only be suppressed and not completely diminished.
“This is an interesting escape,” she said loud enough for him to hear as she got closer.

A single eyelid lifted revealing thick runes etched inside the crimson iris of the man. Like little scanners the iris studied every detail of the woman; clothing, aura, scent, build- Demon? With a sigh Legion rose from his reclined state, hands flopping into his lap before running one of them through his hair.
"Come to kill me?" He said, his voice almost lackadaisical as if he had gone through this process a thousand times. He lifted his gaze from the blades of grass to the lurking woman. There wasn't much else he could do, Legion was never the one to act first- instead he was the calm and calculative type.
Questions did however mange to sneak their way into his thoughts as he grew curious of her essence. There was something familiar about the woman, yet he had never seen her in his life. A descendant of someone he knew from long ago? The chances weren't entirely impossible, but at the same time none of the beings of his time had any bloodline still roaming the mortal realm- at least he thought.

His lazy demeanor generated a chuckle from the woman. His question created a muffling sound of confusion. At his more focused gaze, she shrugged and then shook her head to give him a clear indication of her answer to his question. "That requires work. I do like to work, but then it would require a reward or payment. Is there some kind of bounty on your head?"
She then looked about the place before returning her own gaze to him. "Even so, I am not a fool. I couldn't kill you in the Astral Realm. I do not posses the means."

"So you're not the one..." Legion said with a look of disappointment on his face. "Maybe one day someone will come along to free me from my shackles," with another sigh the man stood. His simple tunic hidden under a black chlamys.
"There isn't a bounty on my head no, but you can never be too sure these days." Turning to the woman he gave a soft grin. "Well if you aren't here to kill me I suppose there is another reason for you to interrupt my small moment of peace and quiet?"
Erian — 09/23/2021
"So death is something you seek? You are trapped and require death as a way out," she asked, though it was more of an rhetorical observation. He was giving her the answers and she was just confirming them for herself. This caused her to place a hand upon her chin and twist her hips an inch or so, shifting her posture to a thoughtful one. Her gaze mellowed out to focus more on her thoughts than the man before her. No bounty that he knows of... well that is a bummer.
Then there was a grin from him, which she saw when her focus was brought back. "There is always a reason for a meeting. Maybe we are meant to exchange stories? Or we could have a relation that dates back centuries and it has come time to blossom it. It could be time for action," she stated. With that statement, she decided it was only fair to start off with her name and a little background.
"Mazikeen is my name. I am of a succubus mother and a vampire father. If you sense a bit of sensual energies nagging at your hormones, then I apologize. I suppress it as close to nothing as possible, knowing the potent reaction that it can give out. Unlike my sister, I do not enjoy such attentions."
Mazikeen did not enjoy sensations she could not control, not any longer. No. Not after the man she called a father exploited her innate ability to benefit from such sensation overload. Nothing was better than a slave that completely was devolved into acting on impulse in such a way.

"Yes," he said bluntly. Legion's eyes told the truth and while he looked at her there was a sorrow in his eyes that only those who knew true pain would see. It was a sadness embedded so deep within, a sadness concocted through years of endless torture- a sadness that would only stop once his life was ended.
He took a step toward her as she spoke, lifting her chin with his right hand until her gaze met his own. He looked at her for a moment and then adverted his gaze and released her chin as if he had discovered something.
"Lucky for you I have no interest in that sort of pleasure. In fact, I doubt there is anything in this world that can excite me anymore. Everything has been stripped from me. All the mortal joys of the world have been overdone and all the sins that insight excitement have now grown boring."
He turned once more to the sky this time. A gentle breeze carrying his hair back as he took in a breathe of fresh air. "I really do love this astral realm." He stated with the first real smile that he had done in years. "Its the one place where the pain doesn't exist. Is it the same for you?" Although he was changing the subject there was a certain look he had gave her moments ago, maybe they did know each other from the past.

There was a strange freeze in her physical mannerisms when he reached to life her chin with his hand; she did not protest or flinch. It was smooth and easy, as if she knew herself he would do so. Her gaze met his own and he could see her deep her amethyst eyes could stare. He had her full attention doing so, but then he looked away from her and lowered her chin.
This warranted a blink of confusion from her. "That is good. I second the luck you have given me." Though, there was a sense of challenge sparked up in her from his words. A silly feeling and thought started to invade her mind as he stated there may be nothing to spark such sensations. She felt challenged as a hybrid of two sins which thrived at enticement. But that was part of the impulses she hated.
And so it was suppressed. Simple as that. His words were genuine, but she marked those words as the unknown forces of the galaxy testing her resolve once again. At-least words were never the trigger to her insanity, and she was thankful for that. It was great that the man was peaceful and filled more with sorrow than with excitement.
If there was a physical confrontation, then things would have gone south for her much too quickly.
"Yes," she said in response to this being the place where pain doesn't exist. "Yes, pain doesn't exist here. When pain does not exist, I can no longer crave it...."
Then she caught a bit onto his nostalgia filled gaze when they were eye to eye a moment ago. "Do...I somehow know you? Or....maybe I remind you of someone?"
Balial — 09/23/2021
"Honestly I can't say for certain." Legion said with his onyx and crimson rune etched eyes. "It's possible, but I have been around for so long- I just don't know anymore." Letting his hand fall into his palm he gave another heart felt sigh.
"There is just too much that I don't want to get into that would properly explain the situation. Long story short- its possible." He took a moment to look back into her deep amethyst eyes.
"Actually, yeah- there is something about you." He said for a moment, daring not to approach as a strange feeling began to muster inside his heart. "Maybe it's just your nature? Vampire and succubus, what an interesting combination."
Legion, rather it be Abel or Hades, better yet the thousands of demons, eldritch horrors, or celestials that were trapped inside his body were all too familiar with succubus and vampires. Yet in all his time he had never heard of a vampire and succubus birthing a child. Maybe he had missed something, but typically a hybrid such as that he would have looked into. After all the powers of hybrids often times surpassed their parents.
If there was one thing that Legion truly desired apart from death it was to find someone as strong as her. Only a being with her control over magic would actually break his curse. No amount of physical power or ki would ever be able to rival the true power of the binding spell placed on his body.

"Born from one of Lilim's daughter's, Malthusa, and my father...a blacksmith known as Azara," she said to give him just a bit more information about her. Maybe it could ease his curiosities. There was a moment where she sighed deeply and then she fell backwards onto the ground, almost imitating the lackadaisical manner that he once held. Her hair pressed against the grass much like a dry mop would have when splattered onto the ground. Her body didn't shift when she fell, and she just lied there with her limbs comfortably sprawled out every where.
"This is very comfortable," she said as the breeze kicked in once again to blow all against her exposed skin. "So, you are shackled? Sounds pretty heavy. Is there a way to break the chains without death?"
Balial — 09/23/2021
Legion mimicked her as she mimicked what he had done earlier, falling into the grass like a drunkard falling in the streets. "Lilim eh?" For some reason that name stuck out to him, it struck a cord in his mind. "Honestly it sounds.... familiar, but who knows." He said passingly.
"I don't have the slightest clue," he lied unsure if she had picked up on his mannerisms to tell just yet. "I mean, I am sure there is, but I have searched for so long. Eventually we just want it all to come to an end."
The slightly slip of his tongue with the word 'we' could have spelled disastrous for Legion. He did not intend to elude to some secret meaning- but in his moment of peace he might have just done so. Without skipping a beat he immediately spoke up once more, trying to blend it together as smoothly as he could with the previous sentence.
"After all, you seem the same."

"I suppose I could be similar. But ending it all is a bit too...boring." She rolled over so that she could get a better look at the nameless man. "I seek to clear my mind of certain programming that was done to me in my youth. That certain feeling is something I think I am addicted to. Ending it all would end the possibility of reaching that feeling again.
"So, I think I will pass on that. You probably should pass on that as well. Death just seems like it will be nothing but darkness. That is how unknown it is."
She blinked and caught her self. "Sorry, I think I was going to go on a rant. I should leave you room to respond."
Balial — 09/24/2021
Legion couldn't help but chuckle as she caught herself mid speech. "What a polite young woman," Abel said with another heartfelt grin that spanned ear to ear, a rare sight indeed. "I guess you have some good points, but I don't know. If you life long enough eventually you are okay with the darkness, the unknown."
his voice trailed off as he thought about the nothingness and what it meant for not only himself but the souls bound to him. Some of them were familiar with the nothingness, the period of time before Hades's reign. A period where Hades was not king but a slayer.
An elder entity that not even demons knew where he held from, a time where he and his brothers slaughtered the horrors of hell and created the hell before Lucifer's rule.
"Anyway, sorry for the delay but I didn't catch your name. In this form I go by Abel, but I answer to Legion a lot these days as well." (edited)
Erian — 09/24/2021
That is when Mazikeen remembered. She said her name, but she did not say it in a way that would stick to it being her own. "O-oh, that is awkward. I said my name, but I think-- I have a tough time with speech sometimes. My name is Mazikeen. It is nice to meet you Abel."
She leaned upward and hugged her knees and gave off a pleasant smile with her eyes simmering to a close. "I am located at Keliouxian Academy. I am think of studying to become a magic user.
"Maybe I could figure out how to loosen your shackles?"
Balial — 09/24/2021
“My apologies I must have been lost in thought!” He said with an awkward chuckle as he ran his hand on the back of his head.
“Becoming a scholar? Wow, that’s impressive in its own right. Vampire, succumbs, scholar- a woman of many hats I see.”
As she hug her knees legion lifted himself from his leisurely position. Using his arms to keep himself upright he slightly reclined while looking up into the fake sky.
“Well if you so maybe I won’t have to seek out death as actively as I am.” He said with a passing false grin. Not that he didn’t trust her words, but to Legion she was a child when it came to their appearance of age. He, being the host and one of the first mortals created, was practically ageless, or at least so old that he had time to look into all manners of breaking his chains.
“Hope to see you around, I think it’s about time I return. Next time I see you how about you tell me some more about your time at the academy. Later Maze,” and with a wave and a wide grin he began to fade from the astral realm.
Erian — 09/24/2021
"That I will, Abel." She actually chuckled as she realized that he immediately called her by her shortened nickname without her telling him to. She did not fade away just yet, but only because she was intrigued by the scenery. She felt that maybe if she paid more attention to it and learned of its design, she would then learn more about this man.
This was, after all, a world created from within him. Maybe a distant memory of his home? Whatever it was, it was calm. Mazikeen enjoyed the calm when she could, because she knew that deep within her stirred a chaotic storm of lunacy that she wish would not be so tempting to dive into.
It took time, but eventually Mazikeen found herself waking up suddenly from her meditations and almost immediately there was one tiny crack of a voice in the back of her head.
Make him hurt you
