Legion: Combat rune
Halsey: Champ Lv 2, Combat Rune
Balial — 28/09/2021
The dust settled over the ruined battlefield. Legion, in the human form that had once gone by Abel, stood there motionless. In his hands laid silent the obsidian forged Eldritch Bane. A blade forged from the blood of ancient beasts that once roamed hell long before Hades had decided to take the throne for the first time. Eldritch terrors, celestial warriors, and even demons that dared faced the First King, all paid their dues to be kin to the blade and be bound to Hades forever more.
Unlucky as Abel was, the first slain had his place among the first king. His eyes held the truth, a truth few would ever know- yet few would forget. Raven runes flickered like a candle's flame in the crimson irises.
He waited for his time to meet his opponent, twirling his blade in circles to pick up the wind once more. His spear danced, like a sage performer, as small gusts of dust lifted from the ground. Like small tornadoes they twirled around the Tempest of Souls. Finally with a single slash from the tip of his spear the dust cleaved itself in half.
"Are you here to kill me," Legion asked the bodiless energy that he felt had begun to emerge.

Halsey hadn't used her gem for quite a while, but seeing as she had nothing else to do on that rock filled with winged cretins and old fools of extraordinary stupidity, there wasn't much reason not to have some fun in the astral realm again. Thus without even exerting much effort, she sat down upon her bed in her private quarters aboard her ship, closing her eyes and allowing her mind to drift into the aether.
As she opened her eyes, she could see herself surrounded by what seemed to be...some sort of battlefield, a place littered with ruins and reeking of death. In a sort of morbid way, this was actually rather pleasing, as it reminded the Primeval of times in memoriam where she had the pleasure of waging her glorious war continuously.
The sound of a voice drew her attention, the scent of death stronger when Halsey focused on the origin of the voice. Rather, perhaps the scent was more likely to come from the very weapon the mysterious man was wielding. It seemed...oddly familiar, though she couldn’t exactly take a guess at when or how she would recognize it. However, as she was delighted to see someone she hadn’t met yet in the Astral realm, the woman simply tilted her head to the side with a somewhat perplexed expression upon her face. “Kill you...here in this place? That would be rather counter-productive, wouldn’t it be?” Letting out a chuckle, the Primeval slowly reached with both her hands behind her back, pulling out both a massive black blade in her right hand and a monstrous scythe seemingly formed out of the bones of a primordial being. “I’m not going to kill you, I’m going to filet you…”
Balial — 28/09/2021
"Well then if you think you can't kill me here, then you aren't the one." Legion said rather mysteriously as the blade summoned into her palms.
Like a choregraphed dance he began to spin his spear once more, weaving it in and out of his body. "I really would love to see you try.... There's something about you that seems familiar...."
Without saying much more he halted the approach of the spear, slamming the hilt into his palm as it bowed in response. With a ring the bow bent and warped and suddenly erected once more. "Well, just don't stand there." Legion said as his aura began to flood into Eldritch Bane.
Credius — 28/09/2021
“You’re funny,” The primeval licked her lips as she leaned forwards, bending slightly through her knees before suddenly launching herself towards her opponent with blinding speed, during which she crossed her arms and consequently the weapons she was holding. Only mere moments before reaching the mysterious warrior, she sliced both weapons through the air in an attempt to cut up her opponent in four equal parts.
“But…” As soon as her weapons made a downwards movement, she turned her scythe by the shaft, making sure the blade was turned upwards in order to swiftly follow up her assault with a slash intended to rip the man from groin to his scalp. “...don’t be so dreadfully serious.”
29 September 2021
Balial — 29/09/2021
Sparks flew through the sky as the clink of steel cried through the field of battle. Legion placed the palm of his hand on the rear of the staff and twisted the hilt with this other.
As the spear spun the tip redirected the opponents weapons showing just a hint of Legion’s mastery.
“Tch,” he muttered as he clicked his tongue against his teeth. Lunging forward the blade morphed from spear to xiphos.
Lightning flash slashes lashed out like venomous snakes springing at their prey. Precise, focused, and meticulous the blade weaved its attacks together in a beauty display of talent. Seven cut soon threatened each of the vital spots along Halsey’s body and Legion pulled no punches.
Credius — 29/09/2021
Looking at how the weapons clashed upon each other, the sound of metals scraping upon another, the weapons creaking and clanging, the Primeval’s eyes flashed with a crimson hue in utter delight, the corners of her lips curling upwards into a vicious smile.
As soon as the mysterious man retaliated, the woman lowered her arms, taking the sudden, swift seven slashes to her body with an extremely confident expression on her face. As the man’s blade tore through her garments, it revealed a combined armor that was pretty rare to witness anywhere, it’s gold and diamond colors gleaming as the white robes fell to the ground. Though she hissed momentarily, Halsey seemed to be quite resilient.
“Hmm...you got some skill there, I will not deny that,” Tilting her head a bit backwards, showing an extreme air of superiority, suddenly letting out a bloodcurdling sound of maniacal laughter as she made a quick quarter turn with the large black blade suddenly bursting in flames before she quickly shifted her weight, making a wide arcing slash with the blade, letting the momentum carry her, so she could follow up that swing of her sword with a consecutive swing with her scythe, intending to bisect the man with the gruesome weapon.
Balial — 29/09/2021
Unlike Halsey, Legion had to dip and wave his way through her attacks. Fearful to take an entire strike as his robes became tattered at the mere wind that blew by from her swing.
“Not half bad yourself.” He groaned as he forced his muscles to propel him further and further from her strike.
The wind pounded against his back, forcing his robe to cling to his body as he moved. His eyes flashed a similar crimson and suddenly a thing string found itself inches from Halsey.
“Shackle,” he roared as the fishing wire thin energy began to enclose on her.
Credius — 29/09/2021
If there was one fatal flaw to the Primevals with Halsey in particular, it would be their hubris and it happened, that just right there...that hubris did take the best of her.
She had not noticed it, focusing solely on getting a hit in on the mysterious man, until she suddenly found herself surrounded by a thin lash of energy, instantly binding her in place. Despite the thought she was stronger than her opponent, she remembered that perhaps...this man didn’t know the full depth of the vessel she was using.
“Hmm, intriguing,” She let go of the scythe, which evaporated into thin air, gripping the Xodus with both hands as she grunted deeply, her Ki rising rapidly, as she was removing the restraints she had put on herself and in doing so, she was fairly certain that the thin leash of energy wouldn’t last under the strain she was putting on it. “Playtime is now officially over.”
30 September 2021
Balial — 30/09/2021
"Guess it is!" Legion said as he appeared to her side and raised Eldritch Bane. With one foul swoop he slashed down at the bound woman, attempt to cleave her in two.
Quickly finishing his vicious slash he leapt backwards, placing a few feet of distance between each other. His right hand lifted and a single finger pointed toward her. Darkness swirled around him like a plague, ridding the world of light. The darkness slowly began to manifest itself, shifting between both an image of a raven and images of actual lost souls that had been bound to Legion.
The process continued, rebounding from one image to the next as they enclosed on Halsey. Legion smirked, although he was still obtaining his power he felt happy that his ability to restrict an opponent remained. Now it was up to his souls, the few he had on his side, to handle the restrained woman.
Credius — 30/09/2021
The downside of a technique like the one the mysterious man used was quite simple: if the one it was binding was beyond their own strength, one shouldn’t expect them to remain bound for long. As such it would’ve probably been quite the confusing, if not surprising moment when the energy of the technique simply...snapped when Halsey started to exert what was arguably the full power of her vessel.
Sidestepping the incoming slash, the woman had to really suck it all up to avoid the blade, even seeing her own eyes reflected in it for a split second. “Now now...don’t be too cocky.”
Noticing the swirling of souls and dark energy around the unnamed warrior, the primeval just stood still, realizing it finally. This man was a demon and perhaps even something somewhat akin to her or rather the meatsuit she was wearing: a vessel. This, though...did somewhat tarnish her amusement, as she disliked those demons that refused to realize her true nature or simply were too young to know.
“So...now,” She swiped her hand through the air, firing off a thin and devilishly fast projectile of her own energy towards Legion. “Let me interrupt your little conjuring here.”
Balial — 30/09/2021
The souls dispersed with ease as the energy carved through them like a heated blade. "Hm," Legion hummed before lowering his blade. "Just who are you?" His words lingered as he lowered his guard. Her moved had canceled his own. Her energy matched his own, and yet there was something so much different. She was old, maybe even as old as Hades, but at the same time her power felt weaker, as if her power was sealed where as Hades' power was only bound.
"What do you know of Hades?" Legion asked the demonic entity. If she knew Hades then she would undoubtedly be as old as he. A being before creation, a being before time itself. However, would she know of his journey? Would she know of how he became the first King of hell and along with Lilim molded hell to what it was before Lucifer took over? Just what did she know, how would she react to such a name forgotten to time itself?
Credius — 30/09/2021
“Hades...Hades...Hades?” Pressing a finger against her lips, the woman wondered if she knew anyone going by that name. It didn’t exactly ring a bell at all, but then again...considering the load of names she herself had been through, it may have been someone’s pseudonym, a name assumed by someone who just like her had passed through the ages like a menacing shadow waiting to pounce. Maybe it was a demon, considering her opponent and as demons did, they likened the first of their ilk as the ultimate beings...which Halsey had to admit was not far from the truth. “The name itself...doesn’t ring a bell, but then again...how much can one gleam from names.”
With her eyes suddenly shifting from the blood red crimson hue to a golden splendor, Halsey laughed, pointing her blade at the demon. “I mean...if we’re going by names, it’s rather hard to add some substance to it. Just imagine if I was going to ask you whether or not you have ever heard of Atrarxes of Defiler, Vorak the Butcher, Nemesis of Rath, Halcyon the Betrayer or...Ur’Alcyonis...how much would that help you?”
Holding a hand against her head, Halsey nodded calmly. “You should try to imagine how hard it is to remember just what my own name is after so many eons…”
Balial — 01/10/2021
“I’ll never forget my name.” Legion said bluntly eluding to his own situation.
“Often times a name is all we have.” He remained silent for some time after that. He thought of her words yet apart from his immediate response he had nothing to say.
A fire was lit inside him, one he had no reason why. It was almost like an instinct beckoning him to leap out and strike her down. But why? What was driving the feral emotions?
Credius — 01/10/2021
“You’ll TRY to remember,” The woman chuckled, slowly starting to find this...demon rather amusing, he sounded like someone probably even more desperate than herself to find something to complete them. Was it power, a tether, a goal? She didn’t know and she didn’t even care to take a guess, why would she?
Somehow getting the thought or rather the feeling the mysterious man displayed a swift, seemingly subtle and most faint sign of killing instinct, the Primeval’s right hand tightened its grip around the hilt of her large black blade. Yet, rather than respond to this momentary rise in tension with force, Halsey simply tilted her head a bit to the left and let out a rather rough chuckle mockingly. “It is not a name, but a purpose which guides us, drives us. It is a purpose that illuminates the path to greatness, it is a purpose that made the first of your kind to crawl out of the darkness, it is all for the sake of purpose.”
She lifted the blade upwards, pointing with it towards Legion. “Even those with power greater than the one I possess now, from the mightiest saiyan prince to the cruelest overlord of the shadow realm...will all be but a memory, a speck of dust in this ever changing multiverse...but I, I will remain, I will ALWAYS remain...no void, no voracious eaters, no angel, no king of the beyond will be capable of erasing the one constant since before the dawn of creation itself...ME, Ur’Alcyonis.”
