Christmas, it was Joseph's favorite holiday. The joy, the giving, festivities were all things he enjoyed in the holiday season. The time spent around the holiday entailed shopping, attending church, parties along with the other festivities that people gathered together to participate in. In terms of what he wanted for Christmas Joseph usually had an idea of what he wanted, usually books, a game, or a game console.
During this year, Joseph wasn't sure what he wanted in particular, he hadn't thought much about it until his parents asked him what he wanted this year. Joseph was sitting at a desk in a corner of his room looking down at a piece of paper with a pencil in hand as he was trying to decide what he wanted. After some time thinking Joseph wrote down his wishlist that included the new Sonic game and Batman comics and gave it to his mother. Afterward, him and his parents decorated the Christmas tree and sat together and watched holiday specials. You open your present to find... Capsule Corp Video Game. Can be placed on a user planet or spaceship. May be played once per week by using a build slot. Grants +5 EXP, +1 SP, and -1 intelligence. Santa was told the 'M' rating stands for 'Merry Christmas.' You may instead play multiplayer with another member on the same planet, granting you both +10 EXP, +2 SP, and -3 intelligence.
Once ago in his prime, the Avatar of War was skilled in the art of creating weapons. To be more specific, he crafted primitive hand-held ones. He felt as though they felt a little different than ones that had bells and whistles. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the set up that he used to. In his journey across the universe he would gather supplies to help his creations. There was no telling what happened to them after his assassination attempt.
“Those men most likely confiscated them… bastards,” he growled.
If there was one present, or wish that he had, it would be for a better set up. He was practically using rocks that he found across deserts. They were good for basic tools, but he knew that he could do better. He wanted not only to help himself, but his brothers in arms in the Protectorate.
“I want a forgery of my own to make better weapons,” he said, wiping away the sweat from his forehead, “Or at least somewhere where I can make them.” You open your present to find... Santa's Forge. This definitely did not used to be Santa's Workshop. Can be placed on a User Planet or Spaceship. Build times are reduced by one week to a limit of one week. Santa hopes you will build items other than weapons, but he feels bad for Laerys, so... just don't let him see you do it, okay?
Christmas… it was a time that most people would have spent with their families. Too bad for a certain pink-haired woman, she wasn’t able to do that. She had no idea where her father was, she knew even less where her mother could possibly be. Kari couldn’t even find Yan either who usually showed up at just the right time for her. She was writing a list after hearing what other people did for what they could receive from Space Santa.
Others on Avalon, she overheard had lists that contained lots of possible gifts for them. She, however, only scribbled down one thing on hers. It was for a plaything or pet. If something existed for her that depended on her, then she knew that they wouldn’t want to leave her to be alone. Loneliness was a dangerous feeling for anyone, so she hoped that she would get her wish.
“A pet,” she laughed, “Some might say that Hobbet already fits that department. And you know what just for the hell of it, I'll ask for some new boots too.” You open your present to find... a broken egg. How did that get in there? No, really. This isn't a present. You can't claim it. A bird must have laid it while Santa wasn't looking. How hard did you shake the box? Oh, now it's dripping down the box and seeping into the carpet. No!!
Even the Icer system celebrated the holiday... in their own way. While most planets treated it as a celebration meant to be kind and joyous, the Changelings on Planet Frieza celebrated the death it brought. Called the Soulstíss, the holiday took place on the coldest day of the year. It would fluctuate between a period of around two weeks, and tradition evolved into including these two weeks as one holiday. Most aliens would be granted a reprieve from work, unless they had a natural resistance to the cold, and Changelings would take over.
This wasn't to be charitable to the lower class, however. Most aliens could not survive the harsh conditions of this time period, and the PTO would make efforts to avoid losing the bulk of their work force. On the Soulstíss, dozens of aliens die. Sometimes they are caught outside, going to the store or for a jog. Other times they would be huddled inside their home, found frozen next to the fireplace. It is said that the best Soulstísses are the ones where the most aliens die, because weakness has left the Ice and made the planet more resilient.
Lord Frieza would assign a value to these deaths. For every so many aliens that would die on the coldest day, he would take a drink. It was a favorite holiday drinking game. "What would I want?" Frieza thought to himself. "I suppose a vintage red Vagril wine would suffice." You open your present to find... Vagril Wine Cask. Santa is... absolutely abhorred. However, he appreciates that the Planet Pefu has not been blown up. Not that his elves are Galvarians, of course. He just likes the planet. Can be placed on a user planet or ship. May be dispensed by those on the same planet once per week by using a build slot. Grants +2 DP and -1 charisma.
"What do you want?" Abo asked. He was a stubby, blue alien that worked for Lord Frieza. "I dunno," Cado answered. Also stubby and also working for Frieza, but this one was red.
"I wish I had 800 Zeni," Abo mentioned after a minute of thinking. "I think that's a good number."
"Why not wish for more?" A wish was hypothetical. He could've wished for 1,000. "I would want a scouter. One of the new ones, complete with a built-in camera."
"Those cost 800z." Abo began writing his wishlist, including vegetables and soups, as well as new boots. There was a hole in the big toe. He grabbed his wishlist and put it in an envelope with Cado's. You open you present to find... nothing but air. One of you has been naughty, but which one?
Happy Holidays, ADBZ! For everyone that participated, thanks! The first year I joined, we did a Secret Santa, and I got a 10,000z ship. It was awesome. I hope some of you feel similar. If not, don't worry! You may re-gift your present at the anonymous white elephant exchange.
By surrendering your present, one of your characters can receive a new gift. (If your second soul received a gift, you may re-gift and claim the new present on your primary character, for example.) However, there is no telling if the new gift belonged to somebody who was naughty or somebody who was nice. You will have a 33% chance at receiving one of the below, and a 33% chance at receiving nothing. (So: option 1 is 33%, option 2 is 33%, nothing is 33%.)
1) Santa's Sack. Equipped as an Accessory. May be equipped alongside one other item and cannot be inscribed. Allows the user to withdraw two unprepared items during battle as a free action. They must still be either used or equipped by spending an action. Due to the sheer weight of endless Christmas toys, this accessory also gives +10 all stats to training per week while equipped.
2) Krampus's Coal. Must be a prepared item. Can be used to charge any technique once without spending an extra action at the cost of 3% Ki. Takes one prepared item slot. Limit to use once per battle. Cannot be used on techniques with CE: Burn, as it would disintegrate.
If you would like to re-gift, please post here. If you are content with what Santa got you, please claim it in your next update. Do not edit your posts.
