Chaos watched Joseph burst through the wake of glowing particles his Ki disk left in its path, hellish flames roaring at the expected response. The Saiyan was a blur, a smudge against the canvas of reality as he once again closed the distance at a furious pace.
Dark gouts of hellfire leapt from his body as each strike connected, smashing his head sideways with such force he was certain he felt a crunch in his neck. The downward kick caught him hard on the edge of his shoulder, but in response the largest release of flames erupted around Joseph large enough to consume his entire figure several times over.
Chaos got his arms in front of his abdomen but the Ki infused strike knocked him back so hard that it looked like Joseph separated him from the hellfire. He slid to a stop leaving behind a pair of steaming trenches in the ground.
As he caught his bearings the battlefield became awash with thick smoke. He squinted hard trying to find any tell of movement in the mist. Somehow, the dark cloud was even interfering with his ability to sense Joseph’s position through his Ki. As the smoke rolled closer he remained perfectly still, balanced in a reactive position for what he expected to come. His eyes burned but he stayed unblinking until–
There!--
The tiniest of ripples of smoke, and the unmistakable tidal wave of Saiyan power aided his foresight as he threw himself sideways with all the force he could muster in that moment, turning his head to see just how narrow his escape had been.
He rolled, caught himself, and flipped to his feet twenty yards from where Joseph now stood. His chest heaved with deep breaths of the putrid air that did little to soothe his burning lungs, but he managed to regain his composure. With the severity of his previous injuries greatly diminished, his ability to recover from such exchanges had been restored.
Chaos rolled his head side to side, enjoying the relieving series of pops this elicited. He exhaled and leveled his gaze on his opponent, and smiled.
The eye-piercing ultraviolet light of his aura exploded around him, the air resonating in response to the release of energy and blurring Chaos’ figure. A pressure bubble burst out and cleared the air in a neat sphere around him. Pillars of flame rotated around where he stood in a triple-helix that tore the ground apart. The few buildings and walls that had remained upright to that point were ripped asunder by the initial pressure outburst and their remains super-heated into a hot soup that rapidly cooled into uneven slabs.
His aura subsided and returned closer to his skin, the planet-wide tremors ended, and the battlefield was unrecognizable. Open trenches spewed fountains of lava into the air periodically and a dark thunderstorm had gathered overhead in response, brewing with fiery red bolts of lightning.
He watched Joseph in the distance, eyes glowing within the darkness of his aura. They were in the deep water now, he could feel it. Now, all he had to do was hold Joseph’s head under.

Another combination landed cleanly in exchange for another violent burst of fire swallowing him. Joseph’s head turned away as the flames pushed him back. The boy breathed heavily, frantically taking in air that wasn’t polluted by the fumes of Chaos’ dark fire. Chaos managed to block Joseph’s ki-empowered punch. The boy watched as the man was sent skidding back and making trenches into the devastated streets and used that distance to escape the boy’s attempt to close in again. Joseph wasn’t used to chasing his opponents like this. Usually, they were the ones chasing him. Joseph watched Chaos’ movements with Emerald eyes and felt a great amount of energy erupt from the Celestial.
Joseph suspected Chaos was withholding reserves. The notion was worrisome, especially when validated, but he wouldn’t allow intimidation from such power to impede him. As Chaos powered up, Joseph reached into his sash, pulling out a small, moon-shaped charm from his cudgel from his staff, and turned and pulled the middle. The weapon clicked and elongated to the length of a quarterstaff. He held the staff in both hands and widened his stance as he pointed the end toward Chaos. This stance was one facilitating any offense or defense performed through his weapon. Maintaining the economy of motion was imperative. If either fumbled or let up, it would likely end this fight.
He focused on the magic of the charm, which glimmered and released aqua-blue energy that layered over the boy’s skin as a ring surrounded him. He could feel the energy restoring his stamina and some of his spirit energy. After exerting himself going back and forth with the Emperor for so long, it felt like he had a refreshing drink of water. Those attuned to magic would sense the water element, matching the magical affinity of the Mage who attacked quite some time ago. He put his charm away and placed his other hand back on his weapon, eyes still trained on Chaos. It was due or die. Even with that bit of restitution, the clock was still ticking on his ascended state. The boy had to do better at biding his time than the Emperor and bring this to a close when the opportunity presented itself or better yet make that opportunity. Each moment brought them deeper in the water and they fighting to hold the other under.
The child ran forward to close the distance. Once in range, he pivoted and swung his staff to strike across Chaos’ body before pulling it back and spinning as he swung two elbows to clip him across the jaw as he left one hand go from the cudgel. The boy then swiped his weapon to the side to smack against Chaos’ face and followed with a double jab aimed at his chin. The boy threw down another smoke pellet, flooding the streets with gaseous ki once more, and lunged at the Emperor. He intended to fight his kind of fight even with how elusive Chaos showed to be. He was sure he’d catch him in due time.

Chaos watched with great curiosity as Joseph took the break in action to catch his breath. His lips curled into a sinister smirk as his suspicions were confirmed, affirming that he merely needed to wear the young warrior down a bit more.
His eyes widened as he recognized Joseph’s first explosive step towards him that shattered the momentary peace. Chaos’ muscles tensed, his black sword exploded through a pile of molten rock, caught in his right hand.
The dark blade got there just in time, a multicolored shower of sparks and deafening ring emanating from where the staff and sword met before springing apart. His left arm got up but was easily battered aside by Joseph’s punches. Still, his arm absorbed most of the damage of the first punch before the second pierced his defense and landed true.
He caught himself, ducked under the staff and weaved around the simple jabs without ever moving his feet. His eyes narrowed, catching the movement of the Saiyan’s hand as he threw another smoke bomb at the ground.
The effects were immediate, blackening the air around them like ink in water and his eyes burned from the sensation. Without hesitation he sprang straight up, aura flaring around him. He flew upward until he broke out the other side of the polluted air and hovered there, desperately rubbing his eyes.
It seemed his opponent had no intention of changing his strategy, all raw power and youthful ferver and little in the way of battle savvy. Still, even from up here he could feel the weight of the Saiyan’s power and he could not afford to let his guard down for even a second. What the Saiyan lacked in imagination he made up for with sheer aggression and resilience, a truly annoying combination that could turn the tides of battle at any moment with one lucky punch.
This could not be allowed.
He kept his senses trained on Joseph below as a hot breeze began to thin the smokey air. Chaos’ lips moved but no sound came out, the incantation being chanted in such a way that it could only be heard in the higher dimensions that exist in the folds between reality. From that plane of existence he words echoed out for infinities and in response a half dozen specters of eldritch energy came and orbited behind him. The strange entities would be imperceptible to most three dimensional creatures, but if Joseph possessed exceptional sensory abilities he may recognize that something was now there due to the stray bits of Chaos’ energy that fed them.
If Joseph didn’t sense the orbs yet he would become aware of their existence very quickly if he recklessly continued his previous attack patterns.

Joseph could feel Chaos’ ki surge as the man took to the sky to escape from the fuddling mist. Not long after, the gaseous ki slowly subsided from the air, clearing the sight of the battered streets. The boy took more slow and steady breaths as he watched the Emperor ascend into the air. This change in his position would bring complications. Joseph had a vast repertoire of techniques; however, flight was not one of them.
That was not the only development that concerned the Demi-Earthling. Chaos’ power rose, and he could feel concentrations of ki surrounding the Celestial, though he wasn’t sure of the source. Joseph’s eyes narrowed as he scrutinized Chaos and his aura, and after a moment, he realized what he was sensing. A half-dozen masses of ki floating around their creator. There wasn’t any movement of Chaos’ body or the orbs to suggest he was going to shoot them, at least not at the moment. Joseph discerned that this was meant to be another defense meant to repel his advances. Joseph was wary of them, though he considered a way he could turn this to his advantage.
Joseph placed a hand on each side of his mouth and leaned forward as he took a breath before exclaiming something. “Flying Nimbus!” Joseph shouted. The cloud rushed through the air and went down to the boy, who promptly hoped on it and flew up towards Chaos. Joseph pulled out his staff and swung it to strike across Chaos’ hooded head. He followed with a hook from his other hand and closed the combo with an uppercut.
Joseph flew up into the air above Chaos' head and went upside down, dropping from the cloud which circled around and descended. He curled into a ball spun down in a similar fashion to his previous spin attacks before uncurling with the staff held over his head land brought down to hammer down on the Emperor's head as the Nimbus made its way below the child. Upon landing on the cloud Joseph shot a hook, followed by a right cross at Chaos' stomach.
The Demi-Earthling spun on top his cloud and he moved to Chaos' side and swung his staff to strike the side of Chaos' neck before sending a spinning backfist toward Chaos' jaw before dropping down swinging his leg to strike the Celestial's knee. Joseph stayed in close range on his Nimbus, circling around Chaos as he prepared to engage him further.

At this distance and vantage point it was far easier to react to Joseph’s ensuing attacks, and with the restraints on his power lifted the gap in their movement significantly shrank. Coupled with the predictability of Joseph’s strategy, he only needed to move ever so slightly to duck under the staff strike. Like a wraith he weaved around the hook and uppercut that came from the same hand making the miniscule dodge all the easier.
He leaned a few inches to his left allowing the sledgehammer-like staff strike to go sailing by harmlessly. Joseph seemed to be depending on the strange cloud at his feet and the momentary delay between his staff attack, landing on the cloud, and propelling himself back on the attack gave Chaos all the time he needed to react. Though Joseph’s speed and momentum were amplified it was not enough to overcome the readability of his movements, Chaos dancing around the simple punches.
Joseph’s strategy was predictable but Chaos had to concede that his technique was unorthodox and though he knew what was coming the Saiyan did manage inventive angles of attack that occasionally slipped through.
The young warrior did some wacky acrobatics with his cloud, utilizing it like an X-Games athlete, and caught Chaos in the neck with his staff. Blood and spit flew from his mouth, two mystical orbs springing to action in response, one screaming through the air towards Joseph’s left leg and the other aiming to hit him square in the chest.
Despite his automated interdimensional defenses, Joseph pressed on, his last attack nearly buckling Chaos’ leg on contact. Sensing the tide turning in the short exchange he descended rapidly, wooden sandals hitting the molten ground a millisecond later as Joseph circled overhead like a bird of prey.

This round goes to Chaos. Unfortunately for Joseph, Chaos is an excellent defensive writer and can make the smallest of actions interesting to read. Joseph's combos in comparison aren't bad but lack the same grace. There's also only so many ways you can initiate a grapple without seeming repetitive whereas a dodge will flows with you.

The pitfalls he anticipated showed themselves; Chaos managed to evade the first two combinations with impeccable evasive movement until the third set of attacks hit their mark. Joseph felt a shift in the masses of energy surrounding the Emperor, promptly speeding toward him for retaliation. He sensed one heading for his chest and the other for his leg. Joseph held a hand out toward the two spheres, tendrils of blue energy waving as the boy focused on the ki signature of the orbs. The waves of energy ensnared the two orbs and pulled them into Joseph’s palm, their presence seeming to disappear as their power was assimilated into the boy’s being. The Demi-Earthling did not stop there. The tendrils expanded and homed into where he could feel the other four orbs surrounding Chaos. Like the previous two, the remaining spheres were snatched and pulled into the blue energy in Joseph’s hand. The boy could feel the power from the confiscated orbs replenish his reserves. Though it was a small amount, it was more than welcome and bought him time to maintain his ascended state. Joseph looked down at Chaos as he wisely retreated from the one-sided exchange. Joseph descended to follow and jumped off when he was three stories off the ground, a thud sounding and a small crater created from his landing. The child then dashed toward Chaos with his cudgel in hand. Just when he entered arm’s reach, he leaped forward and swung a hook at Chaos’ stomach, followed by a kick at his heel, before turning his weapon to strike across Chaos’ chin. Joseph twirled his weapon in both hands and stopped as he pointed the end at Chaos before lounging forward with the staff overhead. “Crushing Barrage.” Joseph broke off into a flurry of swinging with his weapon. The staff blurred and left, fading afterimages as the child sent out a barrage of strikes at Chaos. The sheer force of each of his swings would shake the planet and send a tremor that would resonate throughout the streets of the City. The boy started at the lower body, focusing on the legs, mainly the knees, and worked his way up. The assault advanced to the torso, the pole hurling to strike each side of his ribs to test his armor and the endurance of the man underneath, then to the stomach to beat the air out of his lungs. Even if he conquered countless worlds, fought gods, and commanded mythical powers, he still needed to breathe. The strikes continued targeting his wrists and hands, hoping to make him drop his sword or at least make it harder to hold it or anything. The impetuous assault traveled up his arms, striking at his elbows and upper arm. Toward the end of the barrage, Joseph worked his way, striking at each of the shoulders along his neck, lashing from side to side to clip him across each side of his jaw, and closing the combination with strikes to smack him upside the head and down on his temple. Joseph gave no break in the action, following him back to the ground and bounding for him in a blur of physics-defying motion. Chaos grit his teeth and tried to get his arms up but whiffed, crunching around Joseph’s punch and spewing saliva before he was caught in the back of the leg with a blow that nearly burst his Achilles tendon. He had no chance to consider the damage as the staff caught him clean on his chin and filled his vision with stars.
His left hand caught himself on the ground and he stumbled back with his eyes trained on the lengthy wood his opponent wielded. Chaos was well versed in armed combat and although his specialty was clearly bladed weapons he had studied all forms, finding similarities in many, so it was with some irony that he found himself faring better against Joseph’s staff than his bare hands.
With the advantage of extended reach came several new variables of attack angles and speed, but Chaos anticipated each strike with practiced mastery, narrowly avoiding them despite his expertise as he danced backward and forced Joseph to give chase. This served to minimize the angles he had to defend, but it still required every ounce of speed and focus to maintain. The climbing attack pattern was one he recognized, one he used himself, but he kept hyper-vigilant for any wrinkles in attack while continually moving away, knowing he could blindly stumble on debris at any second.
As if on que he felt loose gravel slip underfoot and his eyes momentarily left his opponent and in that moment he caught the end of the staff hard with his neck. The force of the blow propelled his already-backwards momentum as he regained his balance and composure.
His eyes widened as there was a sudden forward lurch that brought Joseph inside of his own staff’s range, and Chaos’ teeth flashed in a sinister smile. He brought his blade between them, slamming the breaks on his own momentum and meeting Joseph’s advance, slapping his nearest arm aside with the flat of his blade.
Without hesitation he drew his sword across Joseph’s defenseless thigh, the impossibly sharp blade threatening to cut through muscle and tendon as if it were wet paper. Allowing Joseph’s momentum to take him forward Chaos continued his own path forward and spun on his heel, dark blade carving a dangerous path at the Saiyan’s exposed throat. A shockwave tore off the edge of the stroke and carved a half-pipe in the landscape.
He exhaled, focusing on the interdimensional realm he had beckoned earlier. Another series of eldritch orbs appeared behind him to replace those Joseph had taken. It was entirely likely now that Joseph was not only aware of their existence, but capable of seeing them like any other ki. That would greatly depend on the young warrior’s capacity for absorbing and recognizing different forms of energy. Regardless, the orbiting mines should act as a deterrent even for a reckless Saiyan.

His persistence finally paid off with an initial combination landing, though he did not expect Chaos to be able to keep up with the speed and volume of Crushing Barrage. If he counted correctly, Chaos managed to defend against two-thirds of his strikes. He caught the Emperor smiling from under his hood before stopping himself, slapping the nearest arm to the side before he swung his blade at the boy’s thigh; Joseph brought his feet together amid his advance and pivoted to the side, looking as if he was disappeared as he moved outside the arc of the slash. Joseph stepped back and could see the follow-up from the corner of his eye. Joseph gritted his teeth and leaned back, narrowly getting his throat out of the blade’s reach. It glanced across his scarf as he leaned farther back, nearly becoming parallel with the ground. The scarf wasn’t cut. Chaos would likely be surprised. The scarf and the rest of the outfit were made of materials resistant to various forms of attack. The boy felt another shift in Chaos' aura and sensed more of the mysterious orbs of energy. He bounded back with a flip, catching himself on his hands and getting right-side up as he drew a hand across his body. He swiped his hand to the side, sending out an arrow-head shaped bolt of ki at Chaos. Once it was a meter away from Chaos, it would split and become two bolts that would home in on him and move in a pincer. Where ever Chaos moved, the blasts would split again, two more separating from each one sending in six homing bolts that would home in on Chaos and detonate on contact. The boy panted from the sudden feeling of heaviness. It wasn't the most costly attack in his arsenal, but it was strenuous at his level of fatigue, plus that shaved off time on his metaphorical clock. The Demi-Earthling took a few breathes as he shortened his staff and made it the length of a nightstick and held it in one hand. Joseph took his free hand and sent an uppercut at Chaos’ gut before drawing the hand back and shooting it up to hit his chin before swinging his staff downward to bludgeon his hooded head. Joseph shot two more jabs at Chaos’ jaw, then pivoted to his back and swung his staff at the back of the Celestial’s neck. Joseph then moved in, trying to stay in close range for more melee. Chaos’ vision blurred as a result of Joseph’s last barrage and instinctively he summoned empowering fire from the Hell plane to bolster his movement speed. As Joseph increased the distance between them for the first time in hours Chaos sensed a surge of power from the youth and prepared to move. The hell fire not only enhanced his speed but augmented his reaction time causing Joseph’s movements to appear a fraction slower, more readable while in this heightened state. So as an arrow of Ki flung from Joseph’s fingers, Chaos was ready, dodging to the side with ease.
Then, it split.
His eyes widened, shifting between the two, allowing one to go sailing into the distance where it erupted over the horizon. The other bolt split again, and Chaos deftly maneuvered around them, bouncing on the tips of his sandals, racing across the rugged landscape as one of the arrows weaved to cut him off, missed, and split itself again. He navigated around the mostly flat landscape until the right opportunity to flip up and let the arrows collide into each other.
A violent eruption of energy at their collision sent a shockwave that pushed him back but he arrested his momentum just in time to pinpoint his opponent. Joseph was on him, but a pair of spheres went to intercept. The Saiyan’s combo struck home, but the two orbs still went for the young warrior’s knees.
Chaos managed to evade the next simple set of jabs and duck under a wild staff swing. While ducking that strike, his eyes glinted and he flashed a devilish smile, swinging his blade up toward Joseph’s exposed armpit.
His sandals clicked against the pavement as he weaved around Joseph’s back while slashing in a diagonal arc and finished with a two handed thrust to the spine.

There was another burst of power from Chaos as hell fire enveloped him again. He watched as Chaos with astonishing and deftly applied speed. The speed was on par with his own. The sight brought a twinge of frustration. All that energy expended to a disparaging lack of returns, though he didn’t want to admit it. Chaos was not only able to keep up with his pace but match his defensive ability. He needed to find a better opening, make one, though such an opportunity seemed hard-pressed to present itself.
Despite Chaos’ elusiveness, Joseph managed to strike with another combination. Two more of the orbs sprung forward yet again to see to it that he didn’t land for free. The Demi-Earthling felt them coming at his knees. There wasn’t time to stop himself or set himself to absorb him the same way he did earlier. Joseph encircled himself in a swirling bubble of blue ki that gave off flickering sparks of electricity. The two eldritch orbs collided with the sphere and quickly shrunk and got absorbed into it. As Joseph approached, the remaining four orbs gravitated toward the bubble and disappeared into it as well as Joseph twirled his weapon and placed back in his sash.
This method of absorption had a greater threshold for the power it could contain but was far less efficient in conserving energy for both his own and that of the target. His ki pool further diminished what little remained. Chaos dodged his next set of strikes, and Joseph caught another unsettling smile as the sword swung toward his underarm. Reflexes took over. Joseph lifted a leg off the ground and thrusted it at Chaos’ stomach amid his swing. Whether Chaos could match or surpass his speed, Joseph’s attack had the quicker path between the two attacks, a straight line. The intercepting kick would bring a halt to the Celestial’s forward momentum and shorten the swing, draining it of power and knocking it off its mark. Joseph could feel the tip brushing across the sleeve of his blue shirt. Joseph followed by stepping forward, sending out an open palm, followed by a punch at Chaos’ stomach.
Joseph placed his feet together and pivoted to follow Chaos and deny him his back. As the diagonal swing came down, Joseph shifted again, moving to Chaos’ flank in the shape of a checkmark. Joseph followed this with a hook at Chaos’ chin and shooting two quick kicks at the Celestial’s knees before hoping back. The thrust followed the diagonal swing Joseph leaned back and dropped beneath the blade. He caught himself on his hands and shot his legs forward forward to slam his feet into Chaos’ torso and send the Emperor flying back. Joseph then hoped to two his feet and followed with a hook to the stomach, followed by a straight right to his face.
Joseph continued the press the action, following with two more chain, punches followed by an uppercut. Joseph then rotated along Chaos’ body to pepper him with another flurry of chain punches, targeting his stomach and each side of his ribs. He opened the part of his barrage by swiping his hand down at Chaos’ wrist to open him up for the next set hooks at his jaw. Joseph closed the assault with another jab to his chin, followed by a hook, before jumping and spinning into a spinning into a hook-kick at his head.

Joseph managed to avoid his initial strike, barely, but his own retort was easily handled thanks largely due to Chaos’ preexisting momentum. His left arm intercepted the kick and the force propelled him just enough to slap aside the wild palm strike and allow his other arm to block a punch with his forearm.
The young Saiyan again avoided the edge of his blade and answered with his own attacks, but it was impossible for him to throw clean strikes while also avoiding his dangerous slash. Joseph moved away from the swinging blade which gave Chaos time to react. He leaned away from the incoming punch, considered taking advantage of Joseph’ proximity, but opted to hop back in that split second, narrowly escaping a pair of knee shattering kicks.
Joseph slipped under Chaos’ next swing, caught himself under the passing blade, and attempted a wildly unorthodox reverse donkey kick type maneuver.
Surprised by the imaginative move, Chaos could do little else in the moment with arm still outstretched mid strike but get his free hand in front of Joseph’s feet.
One arm wasn’t enough to stop it though and the sheer force of it knocked him back and sent warm blood spraying from his mouth.
The power behind it sent Chaos sliding back for several yards before he could arrest his momentum, eyes trained on Joseph the entire way.
The aggressive warrior was upon him before he came to a complete stop which ironically aided Chaos in defending the next pair of attacks, slapping aside one with his empty hand and soundly blocking the other with his right.
Joseph’s ensuing flurry came in a furious rage, a seemingly random assault of machine gun punches that, while fast, came in such small bunches it didn’t take much to simply step away from them and lean a few inches to the side around the uppercut.
His opponent then attempted to slap aside one of his hands, which he allowed, letting the wide arc carry him into a looping cartwheel, that gave him enough space to react to the next hook combination, ducking and weaving around them.
Sweat poured down his brow as he feverishly worked to keep up with the onslaught, knowing a single misstep in his movements would likely lead to him eating several unpleasant shots. As if on cue he felt his back foot slide slide over the dusty ground and he slammed the tip of his sword into the ground to stop himself from falling.
He released the hilt in time to bring his arms up in a cross guard that easily ate the jab and hook combination, but the beautiful spin kick that followed crashed into his block hard enough to smash his arms against his own face.
Chaos reeled backward, eyes wide and empty for a split second, body contorted in such a way that it appeared he would fall over at any moment.
His instincts kicked in and he tore his blade from the ground sending a fountain of debris spraying up in its wake, and drew a lightspeed slash horizontally.
The swing carried the usual power but lacked the expected refinement as it was more of a defensive action to regain his bearings than a practiced offensive move. If Joseph recklessly pursued him after his kick battered his block, he would run straight into his surprise slash and his entrails would fall to the street like a string of raw sausage links.

Chaos keeps the reward. Joseph is still over explaining a bit and doing some repetitive lines but I was a bit disappointed in both of you this turn.

Reminder again, I have a weakening system that makes attacks hit harder the more damaged you are, and this also works even more intensely with combos.
Another reminder, I do not fail dodges unless a check is requested. I am more keen to fail or partial fall dodges when they are done in excess. Just ask me.

Joseph had finally been able to instigate the close-quarters exchange he desired. It was apodictic that breaking through his defense to land in this exchange was a different story. Nearly strikes were dealt with, either blocked or evaded. Joseph believed that Chaos had outdone Aria in managing him in this range of combat. After his spinning kick had been blocked, Joseph landed on one leg and raised the knee of the other to its maximum height. He raised his arms over his head and pointed his hands downward, mimicking the shape of a bird’s wings. Joseph decided to take a new stance rather than rush toward Chaos. The Emperor was already engaging him as he wanted. There was no longer reason to chase him down.
The Demi-Earthling watched the Cosmic Emperor tear from the ground in a slash-threatening evisceration. Joseph hopped off of his planted leg, shooting himself off the ground. Less Keen eyes would only see a flickering yellow blur as the sword swiped across a fading trail of golden light. Joseph landed on the flat of the blade with perfect balance. Midway through the swing, he lowered slightly, then hopped again while flickering his leg out for a kick targeted at Chaos’ chin. He landed on the ground, lunged forward, shot out an open palm, stepped in, and followed with a straight punch to his stomach.
The Demi-Earthling then stepped back to gain some distance and started circling around the Emperor while closing the distance. He opened with a heavy jab to rattle the emperor and flicked his arm out for two lighter jabs. Hoping the three blows gave him a cover, Joseph pressed forward and threw a barrage of vertically-fisted punches to test his gut further. The seamless blows rolled over one another, each on its way to its mark right after the other retracted. The flurry was proceeded by an uppercut shooting toward Chaos’ chin. The following combination was a left hook to his face, followed by a straight right, closed with a jab and step back.
Joseph started spinning. His aura erupted from his being and swirled as it enveloped him, giving him the appearance of a golden tornado. Joseph approached the Emperor and delivered a flurry of looping punches and kicks. Spinning fists targeted his body, and rapid round kicks were aimed at his head. The boy changed his angle, with each shot intending to flummox and overwhelm the Emperor, sneaking above or below any potential guard. Wherever Chaos moved to evade to escape one attack, the next was on its way to meet him wherever he moved. On his final rotation, Joseph grabbed at Chaos’ armor a placing a leg behind the Celestial’s foot. He pushed against Chaos’ chest while bringing his leg in to trip Chaos and send him on his back. Joseph then shot two more punches at his body to knock the air out of Chaos’ lunges.

Joseph circled Chaos, surprisingly giving him some distance and offering Chaos a chance to gather react to the rapid fire series of jabs. Chaos weaved around a jab thrown with impressive force but lacking in usual jab-speed, and leaned away from the quicker punches, narrowly avoiding the lancing lead hand.
With his momentum already going back, Chaos' feet feverishly danced below to keep him just out of reach of the short-armed uppercut. He felt the tiny pressure bursts of each near miss, but as Joseph continued to target the torso and head with simple punches simply manuevering away kept him a step ahead of the flurry.
The young warrior's relentlessness finally caught up to him though, closing that scant few inches of space between them with a powerful hook. He attempted to get his armored forearm in front of the strike but the bone rattling force tossed his blocking arm aside and smashed into his ear causing him to stumble sideways. The straight right hand kept Chaos from falling over, ironically, and the faster jab tapped his chin and snapped his head back. He grunted, blinking desperately to clear the new field of stars flooding his vision.
Joseph again gave him a microsecond of reprieve by sending himself into a wild tornado of raw golden power, allowing Chaos to regain his footing once again. Impressive as it was, it was not beyond Chaos' level to perceive and as the first wild backfist came he ducked, popped up, and delivered a kidney bursting hook to Joseph's lower back. The dark blade immediately followed in a tight, dangerous arc at the throat.
Now it was Chaos turning on the pressure, but the savvy veteran didn't intend to give his opponent the same micro-lulls that head lead to the tide turning in his favor. His right leg snapped through a violent thrust kick at the center of Joseph's torso and brought his sword behind it in a two-handed stab.
He kept pressing forward, staying within at least his sword's striking range as best he could, smelling the blood in the deep water.
