For transparency sake, I’m not for it. For a few reasons which I don’t mind sharing.
1) I truly do not think it’s our place to make a change like this. I think our role is to accommodate member concerns and amend the site accordingly, but something as raw as what stats do is off limits in my mind. At the end of the day it’s still adbz and this is one of those things that would shift it to be something else.
2) Ignoring #1, I don’t think it makes sense. In Dragonball there are some characters who are known for going fast, who are known for being resilient, who are known for pacing themselves and staying fresh, and who are known for being physically strong. I can’t think of any example of a character who is known for having damaging Ki attacks. That’s not really a stat, it’s a measurement of overall power level. It’s a good system for RPGs like final fantasy, but I don’t feel is reflective of the source material.
3) Ignoring the first two, since those are thoughts, the fact is ADBZ was started on the concept of Ki being the damage stat. Everything on the site gives +all stats. You can focus on other stats a bit if you want to be a bit more resilient or strong, or fast or fresh, but by playing the game you’re going to have a pretty standard distribution. Before making a change like this you’d have to change other things. It’s not a simple wording change. You’d want to edit the site such that you choose which stats you receive as gains. I speculate this was done originally because Damage isn’t a stat to focus on, everybody needs to do damage. That’s how you win fights. You can try to do damage by taking less damage than your opponent and trading blows, by being faster and making sure your blows hit while theirs do not, or by pacing yourself and staying fresh so your power level is higher than theirs despite the battle being lengthy. But you have to do damage, always.
4) You guys are going to use Ki redistribution to remove your strength (and stamina if android) to put it into vitality so you are doing 3x the damage as compared to a standard stat distribution while suffering no drawbacks. That’s unhealthy.
