Leading from hereJoseph sat on the rock and waited for Yua to respond to his answer. In all honesty, her asking about such long term plans so suddenly somewhat bemused him. She did always seem interested in what he was doing or planned to do. She seemed more interested in his life than he was. The boy was more use to his mother or Karen asking so many things about himself. Joseph didn't really give much thought to such prospects of the future. In truth he put more thought into short term things, such as the upcoming day of school, what he had to do or wanted to do when he got home. What was going to eat next or fight next thought there were times he mused on what the far future could hold. There were times when he thought about how much stronger he could get or who'd be the next warrior to test his himself against, however partaking in the more peaceful aspects of life, being a loving caretaker to someone else like his parents were to him was something that he had curiosity of. "What about you?" Joseph asked. There wasn't much he knew about the Android. He wondered if she had any such plans regarding either since she asked. WC: 214

His father still fighting didn't really matter all that much. Joseph was not one to think about the future, she saw, and that reflected in his childish wonder about the world. It was like he wanted to be a super hero, like on the television. The issue was, his ability to gain huge swaths of power really went against the street level of hero that he seemed to want to be. She nodded her head, but she figured that he wanted a verbal answer, so she placed a hand under her chin as she continued to float in the air like she was still on a chair, "Just because your father does still fight, does not mean that you will be able to."
But it wasn't just that. Children that gained power in the way that Joe did actually ended up crippled later in life. Though perhaps with his Saiyan biology, it was a bit different than for humans. But he was part human. In other words, there was a chance that Joseph had actually hurt his abilities in the future. Muscles put on before a certain age in humans put huge strain on their bodies growing in the proper way, as pieces of growth plate were not in place yet. It was fair to say that Joe might have done himself not favors in his quest for power.
"Me?" The android blinked at the question, that was a rather strange one for him to ask. But then again, children did tend to ask questions back at those that asked them difficult ones. Perhaps to gain greater insight, maybe a deflection. She took her hand from under her chin as she took both her arms and spread them out. "I have short term and long term goals in mind. My short term goal is to obtain more information in the Paladin organization. But my long term goal is a project that will take many years. Decades, dozens of them, maybe even beyond what my chassis is able to handle. I want to make the Paladins into what my first mater saw them as. What they should have been. Idealized, but respectable. I want to reform them."
It wasn't too specific, but it was a long term goal. So her short term aim was to get information and start the reformation once she had enough of it. In other words, her short term goals worked towards her long term ones. "But that's a rather adult topic, and since you aren't in the Paladins, I can't give you too many details. Just know that this will take a long time." Joseph could grow up and pass away from old age before she was done with the project. But after that? She had a long enough road, but her dreams went beyond the reformation. But they were so far away that it wasn't worth the air to speak them into being.
"You are still going to school, right? I assume not just Earth school since your mother didn't know that you were dead..." The only logically conclusion was the academy on Kelioux. Expensive, honestly, without the subsidies. "If you are in the Kelioux academy, do try and not get bad grades. Being in two schools- one of them across space- puts a huge strain on the budget." Well, it was likely that Joe worked some kind of deal or, maybe a scholarship? But if his grades slipped, then even the scholarship would slip out of his grasp. Say, if he were killed again so that he missed yet another roughly one month of school.

"I hope I'll be able to, God willing," Joseph said. The thought of not being able to fight anymore was perturbing. He enjoyed fighting it was fun, not to mention there were so many powerful bad guys out there. He wasn't sure what he'd do about if he didn't have the power to fight them, unbale to protect himself or any else. There were many cases of many great warriors who lost their ability to fight, either due to injuries or becoming ill. Saiyans were seemingly impervious to most diseases outside of things like the Heart Virus which was said to be able to put even a Super Saiyan on a death bed and even with their heightened healing they could have injuries that'd stick. The boy hoped that he wouldn't fall to such things.
Joseph looked at Yua as she touched her chin in thought and went on to explain the nature of her goals both of the long term and short term parts of her plans. He wasn't surprised that the former was gathering information about the Paladin's she seemed to have her hands in getting information everywhere. The long term goals she had interested him, she wanted to reform the Paladins.
"That's a good goal. I didn't think they needed reforming," Joseph said. "They seem so heroic, especially you, Anna, and Shell, but there's corruption in every entity. Well I hope you achieve. What's wrong with them? If there are some things you're allowed to tell me? If your chassis wears out before you're done can't you just get a new one?" Dozens of years was such a long time. Being part Saiyan he had their longevity and wouldn't start getting old until at least 80 but from the sound of it he may live to see it.
After Yua asked if he was still going to school he answered her. "Yeah, I'm in a program where I rotate around my Earth school and Kelioux every two weeks. My grades are good, math is hard though."

Obviously the android couldn't just tell him about the bad actors or the corruption in a military operation. She gave him a look like he'd lost his damn mind, but she decided not to punish him all that much besides that biting look. He was, after all, a child. There were situations and events that were best left out of his mind, so she simply stated, "A lot of organizations around the universe indeed have their faults. That's why you have to root out their corruption over a long time. It may take one life time, maybe even longer. It all depends on how people are willing to change, and the generation keeping with that change."
His first comment worried Yua great deal as well. He believed in such a strange concept, something like a higher power like the Kai were possible, she knew and had seen one. She wasn't so sure about any other invisible deities, however, but she also felt unequipped to argue against their existence. She could swat that aside for the time being, however, since he had an answer for her other question. Likely, this one was more important. No, it was definitely more important that he answered this one, because it would impact his future mind and not his body.
She gave him a rather hard look, as though she looked into his very soul. It was a hard look that he might have seen his mother give him when she didn't know if to believe what he said was true or not. She crossed her arms briefly, but that was all that she'd give to that little bit. The rotation between was also likely very expensive. "All the more reason for you to be careful. Your program could see you flunk out of more than one school." She unfolded her arms then, as the android seemed to power herself up, and he would notice her hair change to a fiery crimson, and the hair grew longer as well. In the psychic realm, it tied itself into a ponytail.
"Now to test how your control has progressed." She barely gave him that as she launched at him as she drew out what appeared to be a sword as large as his body that she swung with one hand at blinding speeds. Her strength in this Perfect form was beyond scary, as it easily smashed the rocks and boulders where he was, and it could have even flattened him, if he wasn't careful. As she started out in this form, he should know that he'd need to transform right away. She didn't let up easily in this form, especially considering the ambient power that she knew that he had.
She gave him just a moment to breathe after the first swing before her sword swing came in an arc that aimed to slice at his chest, but this was to make him dodge or block, as she followed tat up with her fingers pressed forward as she launched several missiles from her finger tips that acted like the technique Energy Dan and exploded on impact. Her fingers grew back, this time with red nail polish, or so it seemed. She held back just a moment before she brought her sword up and swung at where his energy signature was as she unleashed a massive wave of ki slash at him.

The Android's intense look signaled the periodic awkwardness of their conversations. He wondered what it was this time. He considered asking what he said this time but chose not to. The boy knew he was better off not pressing it, and he didn't want to annoy the irritable Android further. He folded his arms and nodded at her explanation of change being a gradual process and the successors keeping those changes. The answer about his schooling situation didn't seem to help. She looked into his soul with her synthetic eyes and explained that his attending two schools was all the more reason to be careful, as he could end up flunking two. Annoyance at the harshing of his mellow aside, he couldn't disagree. That would be a setback on any potential career plan, and his parents would kill him.
The Android then transformed and took a redheaded form. He watched the change with a rare show of interest before she announced that she'd be testing his control once again. "Still?" Joseph said as he looked confused; as Yua came with her monstrous swing, Joseph's form appeared to distort and flicker as he zipped to the side, a blue and gray blur lagging behind him as he sidestepped the attack. Her strength was indeed incredible, beyond what he believed could be built into a synthetic being, but he was happy to contest it with his speed and have her be hard-pressed to land.
"Since you said to not keep you waiting." In the small lull, she allowed Joseph's aura flashed, and in a blink, his hair was raised and golden, and his brown eyes were now emerald green. If not for what she said about his procrastination in taking the form last time, he would have spent more time seeing how he could manage her new form in his base form and maybe giji. When she came with a slash at his chest contrary to her intention to solicit a simple dodge or block, Joseph did raise his arms in a defensive position, but as he did so he generated a round shield of ki. It was blue transparent and appeared to have a bubble-like texture. The moment her sword would collide with it it would burst and send out a shockwave that would knock her back and envelop her in ki and would hold her like she was frozen. Some of the energy would threaten to envelop her and slow down the processing of her power.
When she launched her fingers at him like missiles, Joseph lowered his arms to adjust his center of gravity and cleared his mind. Unlike an organic opponent, he didn't have the feeling of energy to guide him. The Demi-Earthling stood in place and weaved between each of the missile fingers, slipping between them with carefully timed leans and pivots, after evading the final shot Joseph bursted forward, rushing toward her with his golden aura enveloping him giving him the appearance of a golden trail of light. Once he was in range, he shot an open palm at the hopefully stunned Android.

Bubbles were honestly nothing to her. The android's raw strength was enough that the ki slashed that he ignored ripped whatever the substance was apart and shattered it into little pieces of light. But he did give her a goof impression as to ho he handled these attacks. Not that she believed that his raw speed would ever be enough to evade her attacks forever. His weaving was fine, since she used her fingers and could regrow them near infinitely. She grinned as Joseph rushed at her, only to then see that her ki slash had torn his attack asunder.
All the same, she simply braced her body with the large sword in front of her as she rolled to her side and countered his simply strike with an elbow aimed at his chest, that would throw him into the ground below them. The rocky Kelioux below them howled in pain as she flung her sword at his direction, and used her hands with the psychic energy that she commanded. While she was not good with raw energy, she used the adage that the sword was an extension of her arm and it obeyed as if it were in her hands, with a massive slash aimed for his chest.
Once that was done, however, she would recall the weapon. If he did something crazy like tried to hitch a ride, that wouldn't be allowed, but she did keep her sensors active on his signature. What he likely didn't expect was for her next move. She smashed her hand against the ledge, or what was left of it, and created a smoke screen that would obscure where she was, and her movements. No matter what his combat prowess was, she was able to keep her power hidden from him in her state of being as she moved through the air in the dust.
Then she showed him a new talent of her's, as Yua threw her voice to where she sent the sword, so that if he did his vaunted "observation", he would have two areas that smoke in the smoke, "Now then, how will you handle this situation?" The voice came from where the sword was, as she had her other hand pointed outwards and towards it. Should he approach where she had sent the sword or herself, she would still fire off a massive ki blast in that direction, as she held her arm and fired off the very blue Big Bang Attack that she had mastered after hours of training to use it properly.
