Mira VS Juch
Juch — Yesterday at 9:05 PM
The howling storm, with specks of flame rather than the chilling drizzle of rain, seemed unrelenting as the two of them progressed towards their target. Fortunately, there didn't seem any focus in those attacks. Just a wild smattering without much thought. Through sheer quantity, a large army may have been deterred from advancing. But a large amount of projectiles not concentrated, but rather just flailed about in a wild manner, reeked more of desperation rather than a legitimate battle strategy.
So Juch also side stepped the arcing fireballs, the attacks not slowing down his pace. The voluminous wall of flames that blocked their path, however, was something a little different altogether. One that seemed to function almost like an electric fence of sorts. As electric waves concentrated enough can absorb weaker ki blasts, this wall did too. Mira demonstrated that adequately.
"Fire requires oxygen, fuel, heat, and a reaction process," Juch remarked, stepping forward. The ground shook as he approached the flames, a wide chunk of rock hovering over above to his side, "Deprive it of one, and the entire structure collapses."
With that, the rock floated over the flames. The electricity zapped at the chunk, but it wasn't very effective. Slamming down, a large section of the fire smothered from the oppressive force, leaving a section of wall gone entirely; the space was wide enough for one person to traverse without being adversely affected by the lightning aura. Juch looked back to Mira, nodding and gesturing to the opening, "After you."
Shell Mira Towa — Today at 11:24 AM
Mira walked forward calmly after Juch solved the problem. Even if the demon could have summoned the wall again the power and time required to set up that defense again would have not kept them from making it further towards their destination. That layer of protection was gone now. The demon lacked many more options to deal with the two androids.
Drips of blood lined the path, the bits that they could see bubbling with electrically charged flames. Mira followed the path to the top of the hill and to what looked like the entrance to a palace door even though it was just seemingly a cave.
Mira looked ready to blast the door open, but before he did, they opened before him. He watched as the demon walked out. He was still wounded, but still looked rather confident.
"You two are pests. This is my realm. I have absorbed powers of fools like you that have tried to stop me and now I know your tricks. Soon I will have both of your powers and find a way to restore myself to the land of the living with all my new found powers too. You coming to stop me has doomed all living beings." The demon said as lightning began to spark around him. It wasn't meant for a show of his power.
Power erupted once again from the demon, it wasn't the massive explosion again as what Mira had dodged before. This was seemingly just a warning shot. Mira held his hand out absorbing the eruption of power and went to charge in when the whip spun around sending another shockwave of power at both of them. The time traveler pulled up his guard only getting pushed back a brief moment. He pounced off the ground firing a blast to start and as before the Demon faded avoiding the attack. Mira got close to strike only to be met with the incoming sword as the demon managed to adapt and counter his attempted strike.
The blade swatted Mira away, his eyes narrowing as he stared down his target, maybe this fight would actually become interesting if he had truly learned from the previous encounters they had.
Juch — Today at 1:28 PM
Follow the breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs of blood and gore. A trail that led to a gingerbread house built on the suffering of millions. No candy cane fences, just pickets of twisted metal. No icing roof shingles, just melting heat and twisting lightning.
But the witch was still there. Almost giddy to shove more into the broiler and consume it all. The Demon, despite the noticeable injuries, seemed to have put his previous failures behind him. Instead, he looked to the future and in his perspective, the future seemed bright. A time where he would defeat both Mira and Juch, return to the realm of the living, and then continue his reign of terror with even more power than before.
In the astral realm, it was certainly true that one's wildest fantasies could come true if one manipulated it enough. But it was just that: a fantasy. It was delusional.
This final battle would prove that once and for all. It ends here. Either the Demon stands over their corpses, crowing in victory or be finally vanquished forever. There was no in between. As the Demon charged up, Juch braced himself for the potential strike. But what came was just a pittance of the previous payload; a little sting, nothing more. Swinging his cane around, Juch coaxed the energies of the attack to slow down before it was also absorbed by as well.
As Mira charged, Juch did as well, moving up into the air rather than going directly to the Demon himself. While the close ranged combat ensued between his companion and his opponent, the Scholar decided to concentrate his energies to form a spinning disk of raw energy. It wasn't strong enough to cut limbs off directly, but it was enough to deal quite a bit of damage.
The Demon had already faded away once. That meant it left an opening to strike. It was when Juch took it, sending the homing attack roaring through the oppressive heat. It took the long way around, swinging towards the Demon's back, just as Mira was countered away. Will it hit? It will hurt.
Shell Mira Towa — Today at 7:42 PM
Juch readied his attack and fired, but as the tracking blasts went around the demon spun his blade cutting into the attacks and seemingly absorbing them. The monstrous force of the demon began to swell again as the blast the scholar had fired seemed to fuel him with energy.
"You will both know this as your last day." The demon stated. Was it possible for him to actually kill them in the Astral Realm? Considering what they had seen so far the odds seemed like he might actually know of a way to kill in here and make it stick.
Flames shot out around him once more, behind it bolts of powerful lightning looking to keep both the warriors off guard. Mira jumped off the ground to avoid the first and swatted away the second. It was time to come up with a new plan too.
The blast of energy would give the bodyguard of the demon goddess an idea. His energy seemed to break apart. It wasn't exactly like the zanzoken technique but a still of Mira floated in the air. Suddenly a clone of the Shadowguard agent emerged. Both at the same time rushed the demon. One just moments behind the other. The demon followed his previous pattern, avoiding the first while the second he moved to counter. Then suddenly a third clone appeared and crashed its fist into the body of the demon.
It was a direct hit again. The force caused the demons whip to fall to his side, Mira dropped his leg down, trapping the whip against the ground. He assumed Juch would know what to do now.
Juch — Today at 9:12 PM
Tch. So it wasn't enough. The Demon absorbed the attack with his blade. Juch sighed, crossing his arms. The Demon talked a big talk, but other than some flashy fire and thunder, he hadn't been that impressive. Well, there was also his raw power. There was that.
Mira suddenly split into two...no, three! They cornered him, finally knocking that infernal weapon out of his hands. Juch charged up another ki blast, one that threatened to destroy the Demon once and for all. But first--a small diversion to cause the Demon to disappear again. Then another one that forced him to counter. Finally, the third massive blast fired forth, threatening to engulf him completely and end this fight once and for all
Shell Mira Towa — Today at 9:16 PM
Juch's combination started off working, each of the first couple of blasts causing a reaction. The important part was when the demon faded the whip fell to the ground.
Mira faded as the last blast consumed the demon. As the smoke settled the sword pushed out from the remains of the blast. It looked to impale Juch, but suddenly stopped when another powerful strike crashed into the body of the demon.
The sword flew out of his hand as well from the impact. Mira looked over at Juch. The demon had tried to fade away, but had no luck. The damage was too much for his powers to work.
Mira nodded to Juch, "Finish him off!"
Juch — Today at 9:20 PM
Juch returned Mira's nod. Charging up his final attack, the second sunstone shard within his core glowing to boost his attack to the very max. A blast that seemed to be reminiscent of an artillery shell formed in his hands. There was no need for small attacks anymore, for the Demon's dodging skills seemed to have stopped.
Good.
He fired, sending the massive attack that normally would have deciminated the area for miles. Overkill? Perhaps. But Juch didn't want to go through this again. Better too much than not enough!
Shell Mira Towa — Today at 9:30 PM
The demon tried to flicker out of the way of the attack, but the pain was too much. The smoke settled and the demon was broken, battered and scorched by the duo.
Mira stepped away, watching the foe fall to the ground. His time was up, he was defeated.
The Shadowguard agent looked down on the powerful enemy. The fight had been won, the battle was over. They just could watch him die or truly finish him off.
That was when suddenly the sword flew back into the hand of the demon. Mira jumped out of the way to avoid it. That gave the demon enough time to jam the blade into the ground, "I said you would both die."
The stab caused a massive explosion. Suddenly Mira's connection to the Astral Realm was broken. He was back on his ship heading to his next mission.
Had the demon been defeated, or had he bought himself another few days by disconnecting Mira and Juch from the Astral Realm? That question they would have to wait to get an answer for another day.
