Leading from hereJoseph looked bemused as Yua had simply torn though the energy meant to envelope her. He had always known that Yua's strength was impressive, but he didn't expect the attack to be outright nulled through brute force. Most people took at least a moment if not more to break free of the energy if the attack landed. These Android's were something else. He couldn't help but marvel at how technology is to a place where synthetic beings could not only think for themselves but also be so powerful. When he had realized the power of Super Saiyan for the first time he would never have thought that something that could match or surpass his power could be built, then Aria proved him wrong. His palm strike was avoid and before he could move or follow up he took an elbow that knocked the air out his lungs and sent him plummeting to the ground. The boy land making a loud crash and dug a small crater into the ground. Joseph stepped out of the crater while looking around for Yua and saw her sword flying toward him. The Demi-Earthling leaned away and shifted to the side to avoid the incoming blade and hopped away to gain distance. When she beckoned her sword to return to her Joseph jumped to the blade, he landed with a foot on the blade and one on the hilt, but his balance was off and he fell off as the sword made its way back to its owner. He started getting back to his feet just as Yua struck the ledge and created a large cloud of smoke that she quickly became lost to him in. He couldn't deny it was a clever ploy. Usually such a move would mean nothing to his ability to sense ki, but he couldn't sense Android's not without a scouter. Joseph heard Yua's voice and turned toward where Yua had cast her weapon. The boy extended his hand toward the sword and made a ball of energy before he something coming toward him, turning to the sight of a massive ki blast heading his way. Joseph gasped reached his hands to the massive blast, generating a hollow circle of wavy blue ki. The attack struck the middle and slowly shrunk as the boy clsoed his hand. He then drew his hand to the side and swipped it sending out a half dozen bolts of ki at the Android, even if he couldn't sense her energy or see her if she was in the general direction the arrowhead shaped bolts of ki would home in on her. Two can play at that game Joseph thought as generated a small pellet between his fingers and flicked ti to shatter on the ground. The pellet burst and released a quickly expanding cloud of smoke that thickened and spread throughout the area. The fuddle the sense of sight, blocked any scents within, and his ki would feel like it was everywhere in the cloud. Joseph dropped down and began pounding at the ground, digging into the ground where he started tunneling. WC: 520

Though he likely thought that the ki arrows would be a surprise, the boy was very wrong. For one, Yua was familiar with this move, since she herself knew it. The Negative Arrows technique, and she was vitally familiar with their weakness. She smiled them as she simply deflected each and every arrow. Even though this gave away her location, she easily crushed another side of the cliff, or at least, she was about to.
Joseph must have thought that the android wasn't built with functions to see past the smoke screen, but unfortunately for him, she could see him oh so well with the inferred. So even though her sensors told her that he was in that cloud of smoke, her eyes told her differently. But since he was such a slippery one, she decided on a much more ingenious idea: attack both of them! Not to mention that the ground was no place for the child, because unfortunately for him, her ears also worked. This was unfortunate for him at any rate, since she charged up her Renzoku Energy Dan and placed her hand out right at where he had just started to dig and the cloud itself and fired several blasts down, as she rained hell down on the small Saiyan. Her energy blasts had the energy to penetrate the very ground with ease before they exploded.
After that, the android summoned even more ki to her hands as she formed a matrix within her hands, as she drew her sword up and back. As much as Joseph thought that he was a clever monkey, Yua had one of her few best friends, that also happened to be an upgrades specialist. Juturna had a lot of cool ideas and was great at what Yua explained were the weaknesses that she felt like she had. If Joe thought that he was clever to think about that tactic, Yua had the experience to fight against other androids. Thermal vision was just one of the ways to track her opponents, as she could also pick up on their degree of cold. It just depended on the weather around her. If he thought that he could get the jump on Yua by using the same tactics of the android, then he had another thing coming. She might be slightly weaker than him, but the android had way more experiences with both life and death battles and super powered beings. This was just her Monday morning.

While the boy was digging and burrowing into the ground, he sensed his half dozen bolts of ki get deflected away. Even so, figuring out her position based on where they homed in and him sensing them would at least improve his situation. Joseph tunneled through the ground, rapidly beating through the dirt to traverse it. He had hoped that Yua would be preoccupied trying to figure out where he was in the dense smoke.
He couldn't sense the energy that was being amassed by the gynoid and didn't know about them until he was being bombarded. He was struck with shockwaves and detonations from all angles and quickly generated a barrier to shield himself from the volley of blasts. The boy gritted his teeth and burrowed farther into the ground. The blasts pounded against his shield flickered and waned against the explosive force of each of the shots.
Afterward, the bombardment had stopped. He dug toward where he felt his blasts just before they were deflected away. The Demi-Earthling focused his ki while placing his hands together, concentrating energy between them as a dark red orb appeared and expanded in his hands. Joseph then spread his hands apart, and the ball of ki exploded making an explosion that erupted from the ground he was underneath and reached the surface below. The explosion of destructive ki exploded and would make an expanding down that would span several yards across the battlefield. Joseph then stood in the crater he created exerted to blow away the smoke while looking around for Yua. He saw her and flash-stepped toward her.
The moment she was in his reach, he threw a flurry of punches at the android, starting with attacks at her stomach and ribs and working his way up her body and started punching at her head. Each set of punches came so quickly it appeared as if he had multiple arms and was almost like he was striking eight places at a time.

If Joseph thought that the smoke was a great idea to make, he made a gave mistake. Yua smirked as she used her most "evil" technique against the child, as she placed her hands together and snatched her sword. Before he reached her, the android slammed the cliff next to her, and then the boy struck. He moved with quite the determination, but his plan and efforts were disguised. What he did hear, however, were the sounds of his fists connecting with a body, and the grunts of pain. But he would be mistaken to think that that was Yua. Because the Morphing Weapon copied all weapons, Yua used her biggest secret against him, and it showed her voice throwing talent: the morphing weapon at the abuse, and once his blows were finished, he'd only then feel with his last punch solid metal.
Yua believed that this was enough of a shock, so she placed a hand on his shoulder and whispered, "Fin." She had enough of a grasp on his abilities now, though she wasn't sure if he had full emotional control while in this state. That was why she grabbed his shoulder as hard as she could, emphasized that she meant it. Though he could take that as an attack, Yua smiled as she sat back in her false air chair and blew air all around them to clear the dusty smoke.
"You did well, but don't forget that battle androids are usually also equipped to deal with someone using their same tactics against them. Your burrowing was decent, but not that effective against an android. Most modern models likely have built in heat sensors, either in the eyes or just part of them. Avalon models in particular need to fight demons that usually give off a lot of heat. Though my eyes weren't supplied by Avalon." That was his one clue that even if he researched Avalanian androids, he wouldn't get much value in it to fight Yua with. Though she did have to admit that his punches hurt, as she wasn't fast enough to evade his first volley of them.
She considered, before she asked him, with a hand held out towards him with a water bottle, "How do you feel, Joseph? Is it really battle that gets your blood pumping, or is it studying that really makes you think more? There is no wrong answer, by the way." While there wasn't a wrong answer, she did want a different one for the boy. But since this wasn't a test for that, she added, "Compared to our last fight, I'd give that an A. An unknown opponent with you seeking weaknesses and strategies." He could have likely just blown away the smoke in the first place, since it wasn't held there by her ki, it was literally just dust in the air that obscured his vision of her location. Nor could she utilize this on Avalon or it's family of planets. It was a tactic reserved for enemy territory or the psychic realm.

Joseph felt his barrage of punches connect and he thought he had the Android on the ropes but something seemed off. His combinations went uninterrupted, even if there was a lot of them he would have thought that Yua would have been able to raise some type of guard, especially since she analyzed his speed during their last spar. He started to get a more metallic feeling during his last strike. The smoke started clear and he started to see the vague shape what he had actually been striking. She can do the Escape Jutsu now? he thought to himself
The boy's looked at the morphing weapon flummoxed and his eyes roved around to look for the Android. When Yua touched his shoulder, flinched and looked over his shoulder to the sight of Yua holding his shoulder firmly. He heard her say "fin" and her watched her go back into her floating seated position. It took a moment, but he relaxed and powered down from his Super Saiyan form. It was easy to settle down from his battle focused state of mind since it was just a friendly spar in the astral realm. There wasn't anything that drove him to have tunnel vision. She was looking or checked with her sensors she'd notice that his heart rate didn't exceed 70 bpm during the spar. It rarely went above 80 even during some more serious fights he had.
He listened to her explain that though he did well but why Android's would be equipped for the tactics he tried to employ against Android. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind." She then offered him a water bottle and he took it. "Thank you." he said as he opened the bottle. He took a sip of the water as she asked him questions. "hm? I'm fine. What about you" Joseph said. "Fighting is fun, whether its that or studying that makes me think more depends on who I'm fighting or what I'm studying. Figuring out how to beat an opponent feels like solving a puzzle at times. When it comes to studying sometimes I thinking because its hard or because its interesting." He heard Yua give her assessment of the fighting. The fact she'd give it an A was surprising, but he wouldn't argue with the self-appointed teacher. "I wonder what you'll think after our real fight." Joseph felt like he was able to hold his own against Yua, though he felt like he could have done better in each of their bouts. She always seemed a step ahead, though he was aware of the fact that he had yet to go all out, there were transformations and techniques he intentionally kept in his back pocket, reserving the possibility of their use for the real fight. Yua was a Paladin Captain after all, not to mention she was seemingly the most capable Android in the Paladin's ranks. Knowing she was the Battle Sister to Anna, he was sure she was.
