The only light given to this abandoned apartment complex was the sun. Who knew how long this place had gone without people, or the reason why it was left alone – probably financial issues. But it was the perfect place for runaways.
A perfect place for strays with nowhere to go, like Nijusan. She had options, but Niju did not like them. Being from a different timeline, or just a different dimension entirely, she felt out of place here. In her other timeline, she was alone and this always felt right to her. Being alone felt right. And so, here she was in a place left behind, sitting on a playground bench that seemed to be on its last few days of strength before it could break.
Man, did she enjoy this. Niju enjoyed this a bit more than she should though. It was the feeling of being to herself. As much as she hated being forced to be alone back in her world, it was this world that made it feel better. It was all because she had a choice. So, at night she needed to be alone before she went back to seeking out social connections again. Nijusan allowed her guard to drop, not using her ability to sense different powers or anything. She did not want to see right now.
So, this made her very easy to sneak up on, or not to notice anyone near by at first. There had to be a reason why she did not notice the other that was nearby, even if it is purely just to keep the story going in a plausible direction. Her feet kicked about and she hummed a tune that would sound foreign to anyone here, as it was a tune her mother used to sing on her version of Earth. It sounded more like a pop song or something and probably was if you knew Nijusan.

It had been a few days since Pan had taken off from her home, despite some often doubting how smart she was - she had been aware that at least a few members of her family would likely try to find her - trace her even to track her down and bring her back home kicking and screaming if need be. Surprisingly she hadn't yet been spotted by anyone she knew, allowing her to get further away and find places to stay when she needed some rest. It was a blessing that she could fly, allowing her to move faster and avoid needing any other form of transportation. Yet for the first time in her life, Pan found she was on her own - it wasn't scary, and she wasn't afraid of being alone at all - in some ways she was enjoying it even. She was able to do what she wanted, to seek out new things without someone telling her not to - she could even explore as much as her heart desired, this was her adventure even if it was one she was taking on her own. Yet.... it was kind of lonely, something she hadn't accounted for in her planning was the strange loneliness of not having someone to simply talk to, she was a social person after all and after days of being on her lonesome and not having anyone to speak with, it was almost a relief when she had touched down and noticed there was another figure nearby. A seemingly harmless figure even, but the young teenager knew to never judge someone by their appearance. Just because someone was small, or looked innocent and harmless didn't mean they couldn't kick your ass. Still, she carefully approached, her bag over her right shoulder - a little closer and she could hear the other - humming? Pan's head tilted slightly, listening to the humming, a little more closely - trying to disconcern what it was that was being hummed. It sounded like a pop song, maybe something Bulla would listen to even. After a moment of the humming is one of the only sounds, she figured she should make herself known - it'd be weird to be caught just standing and staring while she listened to someone right? "Uhh - Hi, what are you humming?" she offered a smile and a quick wave, trying to not spook the other.

Well, an attempt not to spook the girl would be quite the failed one – Nijusan jumped and her humming instantly stopped. Her senses kicked in, and it gave her vision of the intruder to her alone time. Her face turned to face Pan and Niju finally let the breath out of her lungs which was caught in her startle.
“Holy shit,” she let out and then sighed. “I probably shouldn’t turn my radar off like that.”
Her hand easily clasped onto her chest and Niju let out another sigh, but this was more of relief. “Sorry dude. I didn’t expect anyone to be near so quickly. Well, not that it matters. I am pretty durable so a sneak attack would just piss me off I guess.”
She wasn’t lying about that part, but Pan didn’t seem the type to do such a thing – well because if she was the type she would have did it already. Instead, Niju gave a pretty ‘I’m too cool for this’ kind of half wave to Pan. “Yo, uhm well I forgot the singer’s name. It’s a song my mom was obsessed with a long time ago. Wait, uhh… is the sun out already?”
That was a strange thing to ask, but Niju didn’t let that question go without explanation. It was a quick addition to what she said. “I don’t have traditional sight, I am blind but use my own energy to project things around me – oh and can see energy or something like that. Its basically a weird way to say “Hey I am blinder than a bat, and I use the same shit they do to see.”

Well, that was certainly an Oops... So her plan to not spook the other seemed to have failed for sure. Pan cringed slightly as she noticed the other jump when startled. The humming stopped and soon Pan was face to face with the blue-haired stranger. "Hey, Sorry about that... I didn't mean to make you jump." Pan gave a small laugh, rubbing the back of her neck with her hand before shrugging as her expression softened, "You alright?" Her head tilted slightly, eyes darting over the others form curious but with a smile on her face as she continued, "Well I only try a sneak attack on those I actually know - gotta know what to expect if I do something like that... although if its a stranger, a sneak attack could be useful, but that's a different situation." The teenager spoke, "It wasn't my intention this time though." Pan glanced up towards the sky, giving a small nod to herself as she closed her eyes for a moment - breathing deeply as she felt the sun on her face, "Yep - the sun is out for sure, bright and warm." she was a tiny bit puzzled by the question at first but the explanation came without needing to ask about why the other wasn't aware of the sun already being out for a while already. "Ohh! So you just see in a different way, that's cool!" It also sounded very useful, "Did someone teach you how to do that or you just... picked it up? Can you see me like that?" Pan gave a small jump on her feet, rocking back and forth slightly on her heels, she was excited and eager to know more.

A sneak attack on people you already knew just sounded like… friendship. That was pretty cool to hear and it put a smile on Nijusan’s face. Then the thought of sneak attacking in a different situation made her chuckle just a bit. Niju nodded at the confirmation that the sun was out.
“Yea, I kind of see on some 360 degrees kind of shit,” she stated. She pointed behind her without turning at a bird who was perched on its nest. “I got outlines, pretty detailed now. I also have Awesome J, or uhh Juturna who gives me these sweet mental images of things I have in my sensory range. Like, there is a bird right there behind me.”
She smiled. “Well I taught myself how to kind of do it. Then a friend of mine named Yan showed me how to refine it. And then his super cool ship A.I is linked to me and details what I sense. So…as long as I am sensing things I can see it. Just… well not with my eyes.”
That was a mouth full and Niju took a breath right after. “There is a lot to explain, but uhh we didn’t even give names yet. Hi. I am Nijusan. You can call me Niju…or San. Doesn’t matter.”
And now she held her hand out for a friendly handshake. “What’s your name?”

It wasn't actually all that uncommon for Pan to greet those she was closest with, by attempting to sneak up on them, mostly her victims were her Uncle Goten or Trunks. Her favorite was her Daddy though, although so far she had never managed to actually sneak up on him - not without trying of course, yet, somehow he always knew when she tried... but it was a challenge, a game of sorts - plus it was fun to jump out and land on their back. For Pan, it was a sign of true affection and trust - knowing if she jumped on them after an attempt to sneak - they would catch her and not let her fall. Not that it'd hurt her much, but - she could trust them. Now, the other reason for a sneak attack - the one that was more serious and not based on existing trust. She hadn't had much use for that kind of sneak attack but - learning from, mostly attempts to sneak up on her father and Mr. Piccolo he was one she also hadn't yet successfully snuck up on... it was good practice and training to keep her Ki low, so if she came across someone who meant harm, she could get closer before needing to attack. The quiet part was at times a bit of a struggle. She gave a gentle, almost un-noticeable shake of her head, her eyes darting to the pointed-out bird, "Okay that is cool, I mean - for you it's probably normal but... for me, that is such a cool thing. I so need to learn to do something like that one day...", Of all those she could have come across, it was certainly a win in Pan's book that she met someone so interesting and willing to talk with her to boot. "Wait Ship Ai? Like... Artificial Intelligence?" Things were just getting more curious and interesting for sure! "Oh snap, I forgot to introduce myself." The teenager gave a small laugh, shaking her head before reaching out herself, lightly grasping the offered hand and giving a firm handshake, "I'm Pan, it's awesome to meet you Niju!"

“Ah shit, well not Ship -- SUPER! Juturna is an Artificial SUPER Intelligence,” she corrected herself before she got a scolding from the A.I. “But yes she is super cool. I call her Awesome J. You’ll meet her hanging around me.”
Pan shook her hand and then proceeded to give attention to the pointing out of the bird and her whole sight dilemma. “Ah well, it isn’t hard. Well, if you already know how to see it probably would be distracting. I used to know how to see when I was much younger, I went through a whole lot when I was like 14. Girl, I wouldn’t know where to start with my origin story.”
But still it was nice to have someone to talk to, even if being alone was the plan. “So why are you out here? I would totally tell you why I am, but well… I am just kind of here right now. Gathering thoughts and boring stuff like that.”
Nijusan patted the bench she was sitting on as an invitation for Pan to sit next to her. “But I have a strong feeling we can be friends… yup sounds dope. Your energy level is pretty decent too. Feels like you’ve been through some martial arts training.”
Nijusan was really proficient at sensing exact levels of power and putting a number to it, and she felt Pan’s power. It was definitely higher than the average humans.

Pan blinked a few times before nodding slightly, she assumed this AI thing was like something Bulma used - some of the explanations never really made much sense to her but, things usually worked and she knew enough to grasp some understanding of what things meant, "So your A.I friend hangs around you sometimes? They have a body or something to do that right?" It really was quite cool in all honesty, "That's okay, I'm glad you found a way to adjust and keep going - I can't imagine myself not being able to see but, when training sometimes I use a blindfold and try to sense things when I can't see - it is hard and I often get knocked on my ass. But it's learning and training my other senses." She paused and hummed slightly, thinking before continuing, "I guess maybe it's like that but... different right?" She didn't know the story behind things and she wouldn't ask. "I'm on an adventure, mostly exploring - training and stuff." She gave a small shrug, it was the truth - she wasn't lying with what she said, each thing was the truth, "I wanted to go on my own adventure so, here I am - I stopped for a bit of a breather when I saw you here on your own." At the offer to join Nijusan on the bench she joined, crossing her legs and facing the other instead of sitting 'normally', "I'd like to be friends!" she nodded quickly, Pan's face lighting up as she spoke again. "Yeah, I've had training for as long as I can remember... it's kind of a family thing," That was saying the least, it was true though - pretty much everyone in her family trained, "I still have a lot to do and I want to get stronger - its another reason for my adventure really - I want to meet others, learn from them and stuff you know?" Somehow, it felt like maybe her new friend would understand at least a little.

“Stronger huh,” Niju grinned. “I remember being like that. I dig it. I don’t mind helping out with that.” Niju began to kick her feet a bit as she continue to speak. “My A.I friend… uhh I don’t know too much about her just yet. It’s a new relationship. She might have a body. I wonder about that.”
Now Niju had to think. Pan wanted to get stronger and also go on an adventure. The blind girl was still all smiles while talking to Pan, and really started to like the girl. “Well, come on. Let’s go have a few adventures. I hope we find a villain to fight off too along the way.”
It was just that simple with Nijusan. “I’m bored. Let’s go bother the old man on the island – you know Roshi?”

Pan gave a quick nod, "Yeah, most of my family is always telling me how dangerous things in the world are, and.. I wanna prove I'm strong enough to handle things." she shrugged slightly, she knew they cared of course she did - but she wasn't a little kid anymore and sometimes it felt like they either thought she was or that she couldn't handle anything herself. " That's cool! It seems fun to have an AI friend - maybe if they don't have a body, we can work out how to get them one - they can hang out with us then." It certainly seemed like a fun thing to think about doing. The teenager had her own smile on her face, it was fun talking to someone new - plus it was certainly seeming like she was making a new friend even! It had been a while since she had simply sat and talked to someone like this, at the mention of adventures she perked up, nodding her head even if Niju didn't fully see it. Her smile now a wide grin, "Cool! Let's do it then - can you fly?" she hopped up from the bench, landing on the ground. "Of course, I know Mr. Roshi - he trained my Grandpa when he was a little kid, he's at almost all the big family gatherings - he's.... kinda a really weird Uncle I guess." She really wasn't sure what to label that connection in her family, most of the time she barely paid much attention to the old man, but she respected him well enough due to his knowledge and talents when it came to training.

“Yea, that is totally normal around here I saw – except for Yan. He sucks at flying. But he is super fast.” Niju stood up from the bench as Pan hopped off, being a bit more chill and calm with her movements. She then floated, pretty simply too. Just rose few inches up so that her feet were just above the ground in a hover. “See?”
“Heh, really weird uncle huh. Yea, that sounds like him.” Niju looked off to the direction of Roshi, not actually looking with her eyes of course. She liked to actually look at what she sensed and faintly she could see the outline of his island. “Well then, let’s go see what he wants! I will race you there too!”
From her hover she pushed into the sky even higher waiting on Pan to follow her up.

Pan gave a small laugh, "Yeah, a lot of people I know can fly - but, not everyone," she couldn't help but think of her Grandpa Hercule before anyone else as she said that. Quickly though her focus returned to her new friend, her face lighting up as she floated just above the ground. "Awesome!""Yeah, it is about as close as I can think of what to call him," As weird as he was, he was kind of family - in a way. The teen rose from the ground herself, calmly floating as she adjusted her backpack. She could probably fly to Roshi's Island in her sleep with the number of times she had visited, "You want to race? Heck yeah!"She had done many a race, usually playful ones with her Uncle or Trunks, even occasionally her Dad. But it never stopped being fun and she'd happily push herself to fly faster. Easily she rose up until she was level with her new friend, a wide grin on her face, "I'll meet you there Niju! Let's Go!" With that, she took off in the direction of the familiar island.
