Mira VS Juch
Juch — Yesterday at 4:19 PM
Mm, a shower to wash off the mess would be nice. But as Mira said, it wouldn't be here. Even if the water wasn't a conspicuous shade, he wouldn't trust it. Juch made another noise of disgust as he reached back to brush more off of his overcoat, only to find his hand covered in some sort of sticky gunk. Flicking it away to the dark corners of the room as a small rumble shook the entire structure.
Juch took a glance at Mira, who appeared to have sensed it as well, "I sensed it too. Hm..." he trailed off as he walked towards the exit of the living room, only to stop. Originally it was a kitchen--messy, but a kitchen regardless--that had connected the living room to the remainder of the house. But now it was gone altogether. A long hallway now stood before him, its distance so long that the android didn't see the end of it.
The hallway seemed to stretch on forever, disappearing into the darkness. The walls were made of a cold, dull peeling wallpaper, and the floor was made of ancient wood that creaked with every step. The air was thick and heavy, and a sense of unease washed through the opening the longer the Scholar looked at it. He shook his head before looking back at his companion. Well, this was different. Time to get under way then. It didn't seem like they had much left to do in the living room.
Juch gestured Mira to come over to take a look, "Looks like there's more to explore now."
Shell Mira Towa — Today at 6:28 AM
Mira followed Juch out of the living area, but to his surprise it was not a kitchen anymore. The home had shifted during that strange quaking feeling they had. Now they had a long hall before them. He tilted his head seeing this almost like an interested dog. He then got the idea of this being another maze. An ever changing labyrinth of annoyance. He had just done that and was not ready for another maze to deal with.
"More to explore indeed." Mira said looking down the hall. It seemed rather long and from what he could see was without doors on the sides meaning it was just a hallway to whatever was on the end and not a section with different areas to branch off to.
He started walking down the hallway. Lucky for them the lights seemed to be working in this hall, but just as he was thinking that they started to flicker. He smirked a bit, "Guess I shouldn't have thought it was nice the lights were working."
Juch — Today at 11:21 AM
Juch began following Mira down the hallway. As the other android looked around, Juch was still focused more on brushing off what dust and other unspeakables off of his person. Little bits of dirty debris fell down onto the wooden floor, leaving a trail of disgusting breadcrumbs behind them.
Every step they took seemed to echo through the hallway, as if someone, or something, was following them. But there was no one around; just him, Mira, and the empty passages. How long was this go on? The concept of space in this place had been shattered completely--it's either that, or perhaps they feel that they're making progress, but in actuality it was just them walking in a loop through this never ending hall.
It went down for a long way; how long was anyone's guess. The Scholar only looked up when he noticed the lights flickering. At Mira's comment, he let out a snort, "Ah, oh dear," he chuckled as he finally looked up.
The rows of lights weren't exactly the brightest to begin with, but now the hallway seemed way darker now that they started to flicker. The flashing was sudden and unpredictable, as if they were warning them of something. But what could it be? Juch looked around, especially towards the ceiling to ensure that nothing was going to fall down on top of them. Thankfully, he didn't see anything.
A sound in the distance--vaguely in front of them, it was as if something was cut. And then, from the darkness, a whooshing sound accompanied the sight of a sharp axe swinging towards them at high speeds, "Ah, so now it's actual traps," Juch remarked as he pressed himself against the wall, allowing the weapon to swing down the middle past him.
Shell Mira Towa — Today at 11:31 AM
Mira continued down the hallway until the sound of something coming from the air started. Through the flicker of lights he saw the axe coming right for his head, Calmly he tilted his head to the side watching the axe go past his head. He sighed looking at the chain that was swinging it. His eyes lit up quickly, a burst of power cutting the line and stopping the axe from swinging back as it crashed to the ground so it wouldn't inevitably swing back towards them.
Juch mentioned traps. It made sense for a house that was going to annoy them. This really was starting to feel like another maze though.
"Do you think our thoughts will play a role in what is to come moving forward?" Mira asked, "I mentioned the movie with the girl that crawled out the tv and then it happened. We thought about the disgusting issues and you got covered with it. I thought about the lights and they started flickering."
It was not overly concerning to him, but he was tempted to test it, if Juch thought it was a valid theory.
Juch — Today at 11:41 AM
The sharp axe slammed down into the ground, leaving splinters in its wake with a loud crack. The lights continued to flicker as Juch removed himself from the wall. Mira spoke of some new possibilities and Juch scratched his chin at it, "Usually the feedback loop between our thoughts and the astral realm shouldn't happen this fast--I'm not talking about our active thoughts, like if we were to focus on manipulating our surroundings; rather, this was more our passive observations. Hm, I think it's worth a shot."
"I'll think about the wall, for example, and see if anything happens," Juch said, looking at the dirty wallpaper; it was a picture of repeating flowers and the like, though stained with age. Suddenly, vines began to start sprouting through the walls all around them, "Hm, I wonder if this has to do with bringing in a real item into the astral realm," Juch wondered aloud.
Shell Mira Towa — Today at 11:48 AM
Vines started sprouting from the walls. Mira looked at Juch as he saw this, but the scholar had a theory about it quickly. He watched the vines grow too, but said it might be them bringing a real item into the realm that caused this.
As they watched the vines, suddenly another audible creak could be heard from back where they had come from. Mira turned his head as the stomping noise came towards them shortly after. A massive ogre looking monster came charging down the hall with the axe Mira had stopped from swinging in his hand. The massive axe came swinging towards Mira's skull, but the Android held his arm up catching the massive arm of the monster before it struck his body.
Mira spoke quickly, "Vines."
As he said that the vines rushed out from the wall and seemingly grabbed the ogre pulling him tightly to the wall.
"Looks like we can also use that to our advantage."
Juch — Today at 6:54 PM
"Interesting," Juch chuckled as he leapt up into the air, his overcoat fluttering behind him. While Juch's was a passive observation, Mira's attention seemed to be more directed and that had affected how the house also responded to him. It wasn't too dissimilar to telekinesis in a way the Scholar supposed.
It was then a different beast came charging towards them. It was an ogre of sorts. The ogre had a large, barrel-shaped chest, and its arms were thick and muscular. It carried a crude, makeshift weapon, a large club made of a tree trunk with jagged metal slabs that looked at best like a crude axe of sorts, that it swung with deadly precision. The ogre's breath was hot and rancid, and even though he attacked Mira first, from where Juch was standing, he could smell the stench of rotting flesh on its breath.
The ogre let out a deafening roar as it charged towards Mira, its weapon raised high. However, before it could fully connect the blow, the thick arm of the creature--somehow managing to navigate through the hallway with a deftness that was unexpected to Juch--came to a screeching halt as Mira stopped it in its tracks. A bundle of vines came out of the wall, then trapping it in its place as it was pinned against the wall.
Still, the ogre--while he was still a monster--was a little different than the horror elements from before; perhaps they were even changing genres at this point? Charging up a spinning disk of ki in his palm, Juch launched the powerful technique towards the Ogre now that he was pinned against the wall to neutralize the threat. The Kienzan wasn't able to slice him in half--there was a strong attack for something like that, but Juch's attacks when focused upon were very deadly indeed. The Ogre exploded into a flash, with the vines that entrapped him falling down to the floor, their mission completed. Despite its sudden appearance, there wasn't a spurt of blood and gore that resulted from the attack, nor was there a corpse left over after the fact. Rather, the Ogre also puffed into a cloud of colorful pixels, fluttering back into the darkness ahead once more; the eternal shadows that, no matter how much they had traveled through the hallway thus far, could never quite reach. It just sat there, taunting them with its presence the entire time and if they were to look back, they would also see something similar. The living room was long gone and instead it was also replaced by an eerie void. It was as if the house had just become this hallway until something changed.
Just after the attack left his fingers, a massive arm suddenly burst through the wall, the huge fist slamming into Juch and sending him through the other side of the hallway with a deafening crash. There was no yelp of pain from the Scholar from the surprise attack, but he disappeared into the massive hole in the wall as the fist turned towards Mira and swung towards him next.
Shell Mira Towa — Today at 8:51 PM
With the Ogre taken care of rather quickly it felt like the place was going to remain rather simple to deal with. Almost as soon as Mira lowered his guard though Juch was pummeled by a massive fist.
Damn he got hit hard... or at least it looked that way.
The fist swung next towards Mira. A field of raw energy formed around the time traveler causing the fist to stop short against the Aura of the Android. Even with the protection though it seemed to push Mira slightly.
He jumped towards were the fist had come from ready to see whatever it was that created this forceful strike. Maybe they would finally find a challenge in here.
