One Too Many Stealing - Quark (Dead) vs Master Arctic(W)

It had been some time since the fact that his thievery had given so much power and influence that he was last attacked for being a wanted man. Master Arctic also being one of the few of his race that was not naturally battle inclined had learned that he was not the best teacher. People did not come to him for full on lessons. More they came to him to steal what he had stolen. To be fair it wasn’t exactly stealing since he charged them tremendously to teach these stolen techniques, but they certainly did not stay around for long. That was fine with him though. Less people around let him simply count his money and live how he wanted.

That all changed on this day though. Well at least the current peacefulness changed. It was a brief flicker in his mind that let him know he was under attack and because of that he shifted quickly, his feet pushing off the ground and pushing him back just before he would be hit by a shot to the groin.

He could not tell exactly how powerful this opponent was, but he did know that he did not want to be bothered. As he landed and listened to the words of the attacker, his form shifted to a much more sleek and yet extremely more powerful form. An evil hue overcame his eyes and expanded out to his aura as he tried to utilize his mastery of shifting to his advantage.

”You will die for this invasion of my privacy.” It was all he had to say to start with as his dark eyes glared at his now obvious target.

That focus though was bad. As the hunter started to sing, the focus of the master became his weakness as he focused on the wrong part of what was going on. Again, that lack of real battle knowledge came into play to hinder the changeling. Something had come out of the hunter’s body and caused his vision to become impaired.

In that moment though, he showed a bit of the coward in him and covered up. It wasn’t with his own body though. Instead, he summoned forth loosened ice to protect him for a moment as the attacks that were coming would hopefully have to break through that protective layer before they actually harmed him too much.

His vision came back rather quickly as the ice he brough shattered around him from the force of his opponents strikes, ”I could have taught you so much if you would have just paid. Now you will simply pay with your life.”

The chunks of ice that were still around suddenly started to fly though the air, all going right for the target and hopefully causing some pain to this little hunter. It was also hopefully a situation where he would get an advantage for what he had planned to follow.

A normal master like Frost would have attacked with precision to inflict the most pain possible with a single strike in many cases. In Arctic’s case though without his stolen techniques, he was a rather poor fighter. He did try to act like he was much more skilled though than he truly was. In this case his arms began to move incredibly quickly as he flailed almost like a true novice simply looking to punch any part of his opponent that he could with as many strikes as he could.

Right jab, left cross, back elbow, double left jab, double right jabs. To a pure martial artist, it would have been clear that he was just trying to hit the target when he had this multitude of arms seemingly launching out at Quark, but he tried to at least make it look like he knew what he was doing. Maybe this hunter would have been able to tell or maybe not, but Arctic wasn’t going to let up until he was done with this onslaught.

It ended up being a pure barrage of 24 quick strikes aimed mostly at the head, but a few at the body and all from the arms of the Changeling. He likely looked like a child trying to beat up a stuffed animal at this point, but that was effectively his skill level in this sort of a fight. It was the techniques that he had stolen that made him different. Those he used in mastery, but for now those would wait.

Suddenly, as if he was not in control of it himself, he stopped with the strikes. It was likely just moments before a massive failure in balance, but his feet planted and he took a stance, ready to continue his onslaught. Now he certainly looked like he knew what he was doing. Just how long that would last though was highly unknown.

The Changeling smirked at the little hunter, ”Your vulgar words show you are not ready to deal with a master such as myself.” Truthfully the Master had no idea that the attack was coming for his groin, he figured the midget was only able to reach that high due to his stature.

After what felt like random luck, Arctic felt like he was doing something right in this fight. He was beating up this weakling and that was certainly going to make him all that much more confident. He was ready to continue his onslaught till burning energy began to form around the arm of the hunter. A ki sword of sorts and one that looked incredibly dangerous to the Changeling.

As the first stab came to his chest, he brought his arms up, covering his chest with his gauntlet covered arms in order to minimalize the damage to his main armor at the start. The burning was annoying, but he wasn't sure if it was from the cut that formed or the flames themselves.

Then the hunter spun and went to slice at the neck. Again, he brought his arms up, the power of the attack still burning and slicing into his arms, but the defense enough to protect his vital regions so far. Still more pain was inflicted and it only heightened the frustration Arctic had in this interaction.

Due to that pain, as the last attack was incoming, the wanted Changeling faded away for a moment, teleporting to safety behind the little warrior. He did not want to feel that weapon strike at his body again.

”Choke on this!” He said thrusting his right hand forward towards middle of the attacker’s body. The lack of technique before, seemed to fade away in this moment as this particular strike looked like something that was actually deserving of a master’s title. A distinct different form of attack now that he was utilizing techniques and not just basic strikes.

Maybe that would be obvious or maybe it wouldn't be. Arctic always liked to explain it away as his strategy of lulling his opponents in combat, but he knew deep down inside that wasn't the case. Instead he just wasn't that skilled if it wasn't for his wish.

As the first strike was thrown, a greenish hue formed on his left hand and his fingernails grew into devilish claws that were covered in a seemingly dripping green energy from that radiating hue of power. Slashing that hand forward, it was clear that Arctic was simply looking to mess with his opponent’s source of power with this combination of poison and toxicity. Eventually he would hope that it would properly hinder that onslaught of attacks he had faced up to this point.

”I need to figure out how I want to punish you.” It likely sounded dirty in the tone that was used here and that is exactly how Master Arctic wanted it. He wanted to certainly mess with this little creature that seemed to think he was going to wank before the attack.

”What about fi..” Arctic’s words were cut off by the flames that his fist came in contact with and then the immediate onslaught of attacks from the little hunter. The Changeling was battered with the physical onslaught all while the flames from his own strike connecting seemed to overwhelm his body.

That was if his body didn’t have a chilling effect from the last sequence of attacks. He felt cold and warm at the same time and as he tried to recover from the beating, it felt like so far things were not going his way. He wanted to make this hunter pay like the last one, but so far had yet to find an opening to do that. A small bomb fell from the opponent and as the Master tried to figure out what it was, it exploded causing an overabundance of smoke to fill the area.

He hacked and coughed for the moment, trying to gather himself in the middle of the smoke, but then a beam penetrated the area. Quickly the target swung his arm upwards, deflecting the beam away and with that the smoke that filled the area as well.

As the area cleared for the moment, it found Arctic in a squat of sorts with his arms to the side. Quickly he threw punches from a distance, but each of them had power behind them to seem like an endless number of punches was suddenly going in the direction of this little creature. The technique was used to keep an enemy at distance, but also hit them at the same time with an onslaught of ruthless attacks.

The Changeling needed a chance to get some offense going on his behalf. That onslaught of punches was one way, but he had another idea in mind. Was it a good idea? That was yet to be known.

He opened his mouth as he jumped into the air, seemingly ready to talk, but then a rather basic, but still effective blast of energy came out and went right towards his target. He continued his path from the jump, twirling around in the air before firing a second similar blast. Then as he looped around in the air a third and finally before he landed a fourth blast went right towards his target. The barrage of attacks looking to either hurt the hunter or get him away from the offensive onslaught he had been unleashing so far.

For Arctic either way was ok, but he knew he had to turn the tides of this battle sooner rather than later if he was going to complete his task of punishing this bounty hunter.

The Master was surprised when his opponent managed to dodge the infinite punch attack. Maybe he should have set it up a little better, but while the technique was used flawlessly, the combat strategy still lacked from the Changeling. It was a sign that even wishing for all the raw skill that he had, knowing how to utilize it was still one of the most important parts of a battle. Arctic knew that was a weak point for him, but he also knew that he could overcome his poor battle strategy with raw technical power.

As he tried to plan for his next step, the Changeling saw something manifest in hand of the miniature hunter. His eyes widened as it was thrown, realizing what it was, but too late to act. He was caught in the explosion of the grenade simply designed to hinder his capability to keep fighting at the intense pace they were trying to keep.

That grenade kept him on the defensive, unable to simply act as he wanted. He was going to need to do something in order to get back on the offensive side of things. He was playing far to defensively at this point to properly be able to win a battle. Even his battle novice mind knew that.

He saw the swirling disc of energy coming right at him and quickly recognized the ability. The technique of the Namekian master Perrin, one of many he had acquired. Holding his hand out he somehow stopped the disc as it was spinning and suddenly contorted the energy to change it from a disc shape to a wide-open donut of sorts. A flick of that hand sent the disc back at Quark, but its intentions were now to trap the little warrior and keep him from continuing the endless onslaught of attacks that kept coming in the direction of the Master.

What followed was an eruption of lava up towards the Changeling. Arctic eyes flared for a moment, causing the flames to seemingly consume him for a moment before they began to swirl around him, forming a protective shield. This shield though was just as dangerous of a weapon as it was a shield at this point. He looked at the hunter and rushed forward. Maybe he was not properly ready for this, but he wanted to see how some close combat would go again. Letting his opponent just fire energy attacks was not working and hopefully some fisticuffs flying would create and opening for Arctic and let that shield he had just formed also go to work on the body of his opponent.

”Let’s play!”

Well it seemed they both had the ability to turn attacks used against them into shields of fire. Arctic knew that the little hunter could create this shield, but he did not know he also had the ability to manipulate the energy like he did. It felt like he was on equal footing with this warrior, but the problem was him starting the close combat with both of them having a shield of fire around them seemed to take away from the planning he had. Maybe it was just more of the fundamental flaws of the battle strategy of the pseudo master?

As he sat ready to use his plan and take the first strike against his body for the purpose of activating the shield, he realized that plan was rather foolish. Instead of actually getting the advantage he wanted, instead he was hit quickly and put off balance. The onslaught of blows was rather impressive and also rather unique. Maybe not the most violent strikes ever, but certainly confusing and that allowed the series of strikes to find their home when they hit the Changeling one after another.

”ENOUGH!” He shouted as he was being pummeled with quick attacks.

The pseudo master was being made a fool of and that got his anger flowing rather quickly. In that moment when he finally got upset and wildly swung his tail right at the head of the hunter. It was the type of blow that was meant to cause extreme pain suddenly and maybe even stun an opponent that was hit with it.

As that attack was used though Master Arctic realized that he was still not capable of doing this type of martial arts fighting against this particular opponent. Instead, he needed to rely on the stolen techniques and the power of the wish that granted him so much combat prowess. It was also what made him a wanted man and had once moved him to being reviewed before even the Bounty Hunters Guild would touch him.

Energy suddenly formed on both of his hands, even more than a normal blast punch style technique, this was designed to do maximum damage as quickly as possible.

The first Ki infused punch went right towards the face of the hunter, but even as the energy would erupt hopefully on the target, it would not fade away. Instead he channeled more energy into the hand trying to use that as a distraction while the left came with a vicious hook towards the body. Energy once again continued to flow into that hand even after the slight explosion from the hybrid attack before he swung first the right and then the left arm over; looking to chop down on the skull of the hunter.

Even after the four ki infused strikes, more energy was channeled into those hands. This time the right came straight towards the chest of the hunter, looking to crash into his chest and hopefully cause a new level of extreme pain to his victim. The right hand though was just a setup as the ki seemed to erupt once again before he would come across with a looping left hook looking to connect right to the chin of the hunter and send him away once and for all… or at least that is what the pseudo master desired.

The energy punches one after another seemed to find their mark. While some of punches crashed into the flaming shield of the little hunter, most of them seemed to connect flush with the opponent and that part seemed to be going very well. He felt like he got the upper hand and was finally going to get on the offensive, when the frost strikes of the hunter even overcame the Master and started to slow him down. Even with the flames that were consuming the body, his limbs were freezing and his ability to capitalize on whatever advantage he might have just created with his onslaught.

Arctic flailed around for a moment, trying to get the flames to consume the frozen parts and get him back into the fight, but as he was doing that famous words of the turtle hermit master were heard. He waited as the blast came at him before taking a deep breath and releasing the air causing a barrier of energy to form around him. The first blast seemed to weaken the barrier, but the following bursts of fire ended up being absorbed to some extent by the protective barrier, but not completely. He still could feel the overwhelming power of his opponent breaking through to further injure his body.

The barrier and still positioning created a field of smoke around where Arctic was and even though he felt the pain he knew he had to focus. His opponent had been extremely aggressive and still very much fresh at this point. A surge of power pushed the cloud away as it was followed with his eyes lighting up and sending a shockwave of energy right towards the miniature hunter. He wanted to keep him off balance and needed to create some kind of opening to do so.

Then as the burst went right towards he raised his hand, ”I’m done with these games, you need to just die!” He dropped his hand and gave a sinister smile as a cutting wave of energy looked to slice right into the flesh of his foe and put this creature down once and for all.

His eyes remained focused, looking to finally find a way to get on the offensive and take over the fight so that he could finish this pest off once and for all.

The little pest was resilient for sure. His defenses were also on point, trying to make sure that he was always able to keep on the offensive. It had kept the master off balance. Arctic was not good at this sort of thing and eventually he knew he had to find a way around this endless onslaught if he wanted a chance to actually win the battle. If things kept up like this he was going to be defeated sooner rather than later.

”It would make my life easier if you did just die.” Arctic said in reply to the mini warriors quick words.

Then the hunter explained what was about to happen. It sounded bad. He certainly didn’t want any kind of poison like he tried to inflict on his opponent earlier inflicted on him. He readied for whatever was coming as a strange substance dripped from his enemies’ hands. Arctic waited for the creature to attack with that claw, but as he did; he brought both knees upwards looking to crash them into the body of the hunter and send him away for at least a brief moment. He felt confident as he saw his opponent preparing to use an old and useful technique that his protection would work… it did not.

The words “Solar Flare” were heard and while he stood confidently waiting to finally get on the attack, he realized rather quickly it had been enhanced and somehow overcome his protection. What good was protection that didn’t work? He was angry maybe he should have invested in those high-tech double scouter glasses, but he had never had his protection fail like this.

Thinking about his sadness in the situation, he clearly wasted too much time. He was not even focusing on the battle and more on the piss poor protection. As he finally remembered he was in a fight he quickly dropped into a fighting stance, not that it helped, but he hoped it would give the illusion that he was still able to fight back even as he was blind.

He then made a generic motion, hoping it was in the right direction of his opponent and while he did that his other hand tapped his hip, sending a shot of energy into his side and refueling his energy reserves, hoping he would eventually be ready to fight this creature once again.
