Once again the rippling chill came over him. It was hard to know just how effective her weapon really was, but the ability to ignore the body shield and still freeze him out of reaction time was something that Orache had yet to figure out. All he was doing was pretty much looking for an opening to put things to bed with this fight. The Saiyan knew if he was going to keep the monster out of the battle, then he was going to have to finish it quickly. He just wasn’t sure he truly had the ability to do that.
As more flames engulfed her, her power shot up. The hunter seemingly was ready to take this fight that much more serious. Her words made it clear that Orache was not going to get through this fight though without going somewhere his conscious self had never been to before. The Saiyan had never killed anyone without the influence of the monster taking over. If he was going to accomplish his goals in this fight he was going to have to find a way to not only kill this opponent, but keep the monster away at the same time. She clearly was not going to simply allow him to live, her actions and words made that clear.
The slowed down Saiyan stood boldly before the barrage of energy that came towards him. Only his natural defensive aura popped up in that moment, looking to at least keep the attack from fully engulfing him. He stepped forward from the barrage, trying to show his durability, but right into a smoke bomb that exploded before his eyes.
Being unable to see for the moment, he tapped his foot, the needle in his boot injecting him with a boosting agent of his own power and allowing him to feel a little bit better. Than as the smoke cleared he stepped forward, throwing a massive right hand towards her head and then a quick kick to her body.
”This could be easier for both of us, if you just left and forgot why you came here.” He spun quickly, looking to ram his elbow into her head and then a sudden knee to the side of her thigh.
He looked at the hunter resolute that he could manage both sides of his goal here, ”I do not know much about you, but you won’t like the path you are headed down. This is not the way for you or me or anyone.”

The smoke cleared, revealing her position and Orache immediately returned to the offensive, but it was a large and bulky strike she could see the trajectory of. Angling her weapon with both hands still on it, she shot it up with increased strength, its dull point slamming into his arm to push it off target before she stepped in to slam the other side of the weapon into his gut before he could get into formation to complete the kick. Her right hand slid down, clasping above the hilt to easier turn it into a downward strike, attempting to slam the full width of it into his neck. He recovered faster than she gave him credit for though, gaining gumption and striking with an elbow into her gut, momentarily catching the air in her lungs before the next strike cut into her thigh disrupting her balance. ”Who wants easy?” she said in her slow way of speaking, but still challenging him. Her attacks said she was taking this battle seriously, but her face now, her words, and relaxed tone argued that immensely. Orache didn’t know a thing about her. She came here following a prewritten script presented to her. She already knew the path she must walk down in this battle, and while there were many branches to it, not a single one was not to her liking. The soft pink glow of her aura expanded again, releasing sparks of electricity as if her entire body was made of lightning. Where she bled the sparks came out stronger, like the current ran through her very blood, and the openings had created a dangerous short. Her power rose with it, and with metaphorical lightning speed, they all suddenly set a course down her arm, and through her blade creating a storm around it. She pressed into his space keeping it an infight as much as possible, her smile pressing up close to his, and struck the blade forward. Whether it hit or not, the electrons broke free, and from the blade shot a wave of ki as if they struck each other in an invisible explosion meant to throw him back and crush him under the weight of it. ”Your consideration is self absorbed,” she offered in criticism. ”Do not think of me as if I am you.” In her shoes, Orache would not like this path. Orache would choose to flee. Orache would hide from the possibility of death and pain. Sitka was not Orache, and if her earlier words of having fun with this did not make it clear, maybe this would.

It might have been an after effect or maybe he just didn’t realize it right away, but suddenly the smoke from the bomb really impacted his eyes. Maybe that is how he didn’t see the counter rush coming or maybe it was just her skill, but the dangerous weapon did what it does best and struck him once again, he knew the constant strikes from that weapon at this point where the reason he could not act properly in battle and the more he had to deal with it the more he was going to be on the defensive.
A surge of power beeped on his scouter, not that he could see it, but at least he had an idea that her power was increasing again. He felt confident as someone could be after being smashed around with a staff of where she was, only because he could still sense her energy as well. He held up his hand, a glowing ring on it, creating a blue barrier around him for a moment. The goal of the ring was to reflect the attack back at the opponent, but he was blind so likely it would miss, but at least the attack wouldn’t strike him.
”Your words are self absorbed.” Orache counter, tapping his other foot on the ground for the injection of energy once again. He still couldn’t see her, but he could at least speak.
It was at that moment he felt the energy from the monster again. It certainly wanted out now. He was blind and hindered and she was certainly another holier than thou hunter come to punish him for crimes she knew nothing about. The monster didn’t care about that, but he would use that to try to weaken Orache at keeping him away.
”NOOOOOOOO” He shouted again, a surge of energy erupting around him, he managed once again to keep the monster away, but his power had certainly grown once more.
His vision came back, ”I think of you as one that simply doesn’t understand the path they are traveling. I do, I have been down a similar path before.” He blinked his eye and suddenly and a device popped up near her, exploding and hoping to keep her a bit hindered as well at this point in the battle, he was trying to gain any advantage he could.
”Long ago, I came to the understanding I would die. Being a hunted target was just part of my road, but that road is because of what is inside of me and not who I am.” He readied himself as well as he could for what was to follow from her, he knew he was speaking to a void of emotion at this point, but he wasn’t going to simply give up on her.

”I am self absorbed~” Sitka immediately countered, her smile growing wide. She was beginning to find Orache’s attempts to preach at her to be amusing. They seemed to be going around each other. Sitka was not trying to be condescending as he was apparently taking her words. Well, maybe at the very beginning. She was definitely making fun of him at the very beginning. He was nowhere~ But after that she meant to speak to him as an equal, blunt as she could be. She questioned him with honest curiosity and answered him with the same opinionated honesty. She didn’t think isolation was punishment enough. She also offered to make things more friendly, as friendly as a ‘to the death’ battle could be, to truly push at his control for the monster since that seemed to be his goal. If she pushed him to new extremes and he held the monster back longer than ever before, the next time, were he to survive, would give him even greater control. But he ignored that offer, trying to save her. Trying to preach to her. And now he was preaching again. The monster also seemed to not enjoy his stylings thus far, trying to seep out, trying to play with a new partner, but Orache reeled it in once more, and Sitka activated a vile in her glove and pressed her finger to her lips, absorbing new life, the natural aura of defense around her body growing stronger. ”Orache,” she said, her energy beginning to pulse and rise again. ”By self absorbed I mean you are only relating me to your experiences. Your path. Your conclusions.”She sheathed her sword with the speed of a master swordsman unsheathing it and rushed him once more. Her electric aura compressed to her, the energy pouring down her arms as she moved to hit him with a spree of rapid hand strikes, only each strike release a giant destructive blast that meant to engulf him, and still she pressed through it, towards him each time, creating a chain of explosions meant to obliterate him even as she gave chase. ”You didn’t understand, so I don’t?” she said, pushing in and striking with her actual palm now aimed under his jaw before the dulled blade was unleashed again in a wide slash. Her words moved slower than her body. ”Who do you think you are?”

Her words were rather straight forward, but she was not wrong. Orache was certainly a lost soul, probably self-absorbed as well as he only spoke from what he did know. The Saiyan’s power was unknown as a child, he unleashed it when he was unaware and then he eventually evolved until he was taken captive as the Saiyans tried to weaponize the monster. Orache also knew the monster had grown in power and holding it back was the only way to not permanently become it.
”Is that not what we all have to go off of, our own experience?” Orache replied as she sheathed his sword and rushed forward. She released an onslaught of energy attacks, moving closer to make it harder for him to dodge with the multitude of attacks that she had unleashed in that quick onslaught.
Orache was hindered as well, but he was not going to be caught off guard. As she rushed him, he forced his energy to grow as well and as she threw the “punches” and releasing the energy at him/ He held both hands out flicking his fingers as energy radiated around them. As the attacks came at him, hundreds of small energy flicks popped out, crashing into the orbs the hunter had released and causing a great explosion, but both warriors seemed to be safe from this particular explosion.
She is arrogant. She dares talk down to you. Let me OUT. LET ME CRUSH HER!!!” The monster said, Orache twitching at his words. He was being constantly slowed down and hindered by the attacks of this opponent and he was constantly in trouble in this fight. Maybe it was because he had not let the beast out, but he did not want to lose himself.
She spoke again, the words almost being drowned out by the monster inside of him, but the Saiyan managed to catch enough to reply, ”I will always know who I am.” Orache said, leaned backwards as he kicked quickly at the knee of the hunter as he avoided the palm strike, ”I am just a Saiyan, tested and hunted because of what is inside of me.” He threw a strong punch towards the side of her body as he moved to avoid the wide slash.
As he hoped to push into her body with his counter punch he looked at her with a smirk on his face, ”Do you know who you are?”

”Of course,” Sitka replied with ease to his words on experience, agreeing full heartedly, ”but it is arrogance to assume everyone’s experience will match your own.”That was self absorbed, though he might take more offense to arrogance even if it implied the same thing in her mind. If he assumed everyone would experience things exactly as he did, if he assumed walking down the same path he did would provide the exact same results to her as it did to him, then he was exaggerating the importance of his own reactions, his own sense of self. He was preaching to her. He was looking at his past and how things went for him and was failing to think someone else might handle things differently. Someone else might be truly evil and accept the monster with glee. Someone else might be as masochistic as to enjoy the threat of death lingering over their heads. Someone else might walk down this path with a sense of righteousness, that made death and trauma worth the journey. Not everyone was Orache, forced to fight for his mind and self against a monster within. Not everyone was Orache, who believed isolation was the only way to save himself. Not everyone was so kind. Still, it seemed she was finally breaking through to him on a mental level, even if her attacks did not. The rapid strikes of blasts into his guard were doused by a wave of energy blasts from the Saiyan that was seemingly able to go on and on forever to block each of her continuing strikes, and stopped her continuous press forward. It died down as if on cue to her own energy fluctuating back to normal, and she was finally able to reach Orache, but he was ready once more with another counter. She took the attacks with a small grunt, but did as she had done throughout this entire exchange: pressed forward. She spun with his punch, and with hands on her weapon it pulsed with more energy. The spin led her back to him, weapon out like a bat as she swung it hard towards his side with increased destructive force, trying to burst open one of his kidney and crack through his ribs. Pulling the weapon up she swiftly swung it again, this time aimed at his head with enough power behind it that even a brush of it would make him dazed once more, dragging his consciousness apart from his nerves, even before the electric shock danced from its body once more. ”You’ll have to forgive me if I think I’m more than that,” she said stepping back just enough to snap forward, throwing the electrical weapon at his body with renewed strength and speed meant to send him sailing back with it, but with a snap, it seemed to vanish in place, returning to her hand as if tied there by fate. ”’Just a Saiyan’ is too small for even you.”With that the sword released a blinding light.

He had ended up fighting this fight without much of a chance to really go on the offensive. The electrical surges from this hunter were certainly difficult to deal with and the more he was put on the defensive the harder it was to really mount a counter offensive. Instead, he was trying to solve the problem that the weapons of this hunter had created. He knew they were what she was using to attack, so all the hindrances to his body had to have come from those.
”They don’t match my own, I know that, but a dark path is a dark path no matter who is traveling it.” Orache said, turning his body, so that his armored bracers where what the staff crashed into and not his exposed side. He might have hit her side with a counter, but a retaliation would be just as painful, especially from that dangerous weapon.
As the next strike came at his head, the Saiyan bolted forward, a burst of speed allowing him to avoid the strike for the moment. The problem was the hunter moved quickly as well, and she was next to him, jamming her staff into his side once more. Orache moved his body to try to deflect as much of the damage as possible, but her speed kept him from negating it completely. Instead, he was left with a deflection that radiated the damage throughout his arm instead of into his side. The pain was lessened, but it was still most certainly there.
”Someday you will understand what I’m saying if you live that long. I hope that is the case. As for me, I know how my life has gone. That maybe too little for me but…”
As Orache tried to reply suddenly a burst of light radiated from her sword, covering the area and blinding him once more. He rubbed his eyes, backing away from where she was quickly, trying to gather himself once more, and hopefully be able to see sooner rather than later.
I WILL BE FREE SOONER RATHER THAN LATER Orache heard the voice within, the struggle would continue yet again, but he would not be able to hold off much longer at this rate. Orache just hoped he could regain control before he may have been lost forever.

“It’s only dark without a light.”Orache might have taken the comment as a glib to her last attack and his current situation but Sitka’s words tended to go deeper than that. From the beginning, all her words had meaning, even if some where challenging and others came off condescending. In this case, she was speaking about a metaphorical light. There was a key difference Orache was not taking into consideration when comparing his life to someone else’s: he had always been aimless. He fought to survive. He fought not to be used. Never for a moment did he step into a position where he believed in something enough he wouldn’t mind being used. Never did he find someone who would use him to his morals, to his belief, and to a cause he thought worthy of his life. He had been tricked, and maybe that negative view was how he expected the world to go, but Sitka’s light, her purpose in wandering down this dark path, was not blind or disillusioned. She had a greater cause, a greater future to walk towards, and defeating a man who would be hunted by someone else was a fairly illuminated step down it. Seeing as he was still recovering she fixed her stance and spun the electrical weapon in her palms before striking it forward. The electric current once more left the weapon and exploded towards Orache with the destructive force to send his weakened form crashing to the ground, succumbed by the pure weight of it, if he was not careful. “Maybe some day you’ll understand me,” she responded and she vanished there, adjusting her stance again to fuel her movement, kicking hard off the earth with enough speed to slide away from his already wounded sight. It landed her next to him, and she swung the weapon again to the side she managed to hit last. The weapon pulsed on contact, her strength increased once more as it threatened to send him flying. A charge left it, finding him like he was made of copper, and she stepped after him, shifting so her side was in front of him in order for her next swing to crash towards his chest, into his heart. The charge coursed through her to him, and her weapon rose overhead before slamming down towards his skull, trying to crack it open and leave him even more out of sorts. Free. It was a fair that someone had come to take on Orache with an actual plan and not just to go and die without anything more than assuming an easy victory. If this fight had proven one thing, it was that a plan and a strategy was something that was important in combat. This hunter certainly had a plan and she was sticking to it. Keep Orache; or any opponent for that matter, away from acting and you can take on almost any opponent. The solar flare that erupted from the sword, had blinded him, his weapon had crushed his bones and that damn weapon had hindered his movement once again as it had done repeatedly.
All of that had been going against the Saiyan, but Orache had not given up hope. He had worked so hard to try to keep the monster away and control his power and maybe in the moment where he might have needed the monster the most, he was still finding a way to keep himself. He was without many options at this point, but he also wasn’t going to simply give up. He couldn’t see the energy coming at him to start the next onslaught from the hunter, but he could hear the scouter beeping to let him know what was going on. As it happened, he tapped his chest, a glow from his armor forming as it formed a protective barrier around him before absorbing the attack and keeping him from harm.
Then his senses felt her vanish, it was only for a moment, but he felt her energy right next to him once again, looking to strike with that weapon once again to his side. He turned his body, covering up his side he was last hit at, to lessen the impact from the powerful weapon and hoping that eventually he would find an opportunity to attack once again.
Still unable to see and assuming the ruthless nature he had felt from her was still there, he formed a slight protective field of energy around him. As the next strike came to his chest he could feel the impact pushing through that protective field and took a step back, allowing him to shift his guard to get both arms in front of his body in order to keep the weapon from caving in his chest.
The impact was strong though and being off balance as he already was he was sent reeling from the attack. He had no way of knowing what was coming next, but he felt that something else did. A tug at his essence began once more. The monster had found his opening. As the staff came down towards his head, it felt like the Orache had split for a brief moment. Sitka would see two version of the same man. One of them, that she had been fighting and another a larger, beastly looking version of him. It likely would not have kept her from hitting, but as Orache kept the monster away he was violently sent away. The essence of the monster was sent back into him out of pure force of will from the Saiyan and with that he had still managed to keep his power.
”Sadly their won’t be a someday. You will either kill me as you have declared your intention or I will defeat you and as you have said, arrogantly assume myself to be correct.” Orache said, his vision finally coming back as he tried to gather himself from the onslaught he had just faced, knowing more was coming soon.

It definitely didn’t stop Sitka from swinging, but she was glad it happened on her last strike, the distance the Saiyan placed between them giving her a moment to consider it. She had thought his monster this far as a snapping wire in his brain, a trigger being pulled he was carefully holding back as the tension continued to grow. This sudden appearance argued that. It seemed more like a separate entity, a possession, that there was actually a tangible something inside of him trying to break free. Maybe he needed a priest. She took this moment of thought to recalibrate her stance, and a pulse of that chaotic energy flooded her aura before she rushed forward a second time. Well, it was really far more than two times at this point, but a second time without any interruption by the Saiyan. Shifting her speed she seemed to vanish again, diving out of his line of sight with ease before reappearing beside him, low with her arm pulled back. She stepped in, driving the punch up into his abdomen if he didn’t manage a counter, an explosive force erupting between them on contact. Her weapon pulled back at her side shot forward to ram towards his shoulder, as she stepped in again with a quick punch to his face to bring his guard back up. If she managed this he’d have more difficulty blocking as her other leg rose up to slam her knee into the same spot as her punch. “Who knows what new experiences might teach you,” she said driving her knee up once more hoping to choke any immediate response. Life was strange that way, and you never could predict it. Maybe she did die this fight, or maybe he did. The next dimension wasn’t amazing at keeping people dead, and the possibility of them meeting once again would always exist even in some tiny percentage. Maybe she died, maybe Orache found purpose. Maybe he died, and the monster left him. He could stay self absorbed, but new experiences might find him reacting in new ways to selfishly push on to new people.

It was a brief moment, after Orache had dodged her last attack before Sitka went back on the offensive. The constant barrage of hindering techniques to the Saiyan had kept him from being able to properly defend himself during this battle and also mount an offensive. This allowed Orache to regain his vision for the moment and ready himself for what was coming next.
As she tried to punch with another ki infused blow, it was at least nice to see that she was somewhat predictable with her assault. Not that it made a huge difference, but knowing her physical strikes only came as part of a combination with her weapon or with energy mixed in allowed him to know for that moment, the weapon was off the table. As her punch was about to strike another field of fire erupted around the Saiyan, the shield blocking the damage and attempting to consume the girl with a flame that had helped him before.
He didn’t have long to be satisfied though after the flames as the weapon came back into play. Orache had grown to hate that thing, but this time he had an answer in his back pocket. The flames he hoped would have consumed her were his go to, but maybe he could catch her with some of her own tricks. The odds were rather small, but he wanted to try. A flick from his hand, sent a wave of ice towards the girl, hoping to keep her away for a moment and give him a little more time to react.
He was then met with a sudden change of her tactics. The strong knee to his body sent out a gasp of air and spit. He had believed he knew the answer to her tricks, but now she had changed it up. The power of the first knee was obvious, but as she spoke, he did not even have time to answer as another knee nailed him directly to his armored body. He might have been a little more prepared for that blow as a slight field of energy formed around him, but it didn’t make it hurt any less.
It was as he was gasping for air that he heard the monster once more, YOU ARE PATHETIC. YOU THINK YOU HAVE YOUR OWN POWER, BUT YOU ARE NOTHING WITHOUT ME AND WITHOUT ME YOU WILL DIE!!!
Were the monsters words right? Was Orache going to believe it? He was not sure of anything at this point, but he knew he had to fix this problem quickly or else he might not have a choice on what would happen next.

Her punch was once more met with flames. They flowed up her arm, absorbing the impact of her strike and letting her own ki fuel the fire. The heat threatened to overtake her, and then it was gone, making the night air feel devastatingly cold against her damaged skin, the heat pouring off it in waves and taking her body’s natural heat with it. As if understanding the chill she’d endure, Orache’s next counter was ice. Her weapon dove in and crashed against a blast of ice but she swiftly turned the weapon before it was completely engulfed. Pulling it back to her she delivered a swift strike through it, the speed and force enough to send it off into the wild. While her attacks were less effective than she liked, it appeared she had at least stunned Orache into silence. That, or he lost track of his conversation with her to talk instead with the beast inside him. If it was the latter, she should feel quite insulted. She’d give him the benefit of the doubt though, and blame her knee, and capitalized on his bent form. He might have thought her attacks were repetitive, but what did he expect from someone trained for years to hone in their ability to use a weapon? On Avalon, stances and strikes had been drilled into her over and over so that she could deliver an attack with ease, flexibility, and arguably most importantly, strength from any position. Of course her go to was her weapon. Of course those drilled maneuvers came to her more easily than the standard punch and kick. Her weapon pulled swiftly over her head before he could recover, striking down on his hopefully hunched body before her knee shot up again towards his potentially falling form. Her body moved with fluidity, the electric weapon already in form to strike him from the side with crushing force before her free hand cut through the air to try and punch him in the face if he had recovered, into his collarbone if he had not. She pressed forward, and again her weapon pulled back before it shot towards his center mass as she had done multiple times thus far. Maybe he was expecting it, but mentally knowing what was going to happen did not mean his body could catch up in her onslaught. Each strike was performed with no loss in speed, with a flow that made jumping from defending his side and face to his chest more difficult. And again, with such smooth movements she was in his space, her arm rising from below to try and uppercut into his body. That was her key target throughout the battle thus far, because if she could not stun him, the body blows would at least weaken his legs and draw him into a new trap. ”Fight harder,” she said, pressing into close combat. ”Stress yourself more…or give up now.”Not to her, but the beast inside. He needed to use this battle to further train himself. He needed to see how far he could be pushed to reel in this monster. He needed to fight harder, and while she pinned down his actions, she had done little to the effect thus far. They were only beginning.

Maybe the Saiyan blood of the hunted was starting to show. He was a novice in combat, a rather weak warrior overall, but all the time being hunted, all the battles were the beast took over, all those problems, his body had seemingly learned. Was he still much more of a brawler than a true martial artist; yes, but he was developing battle tactics along the way that certainly helped him become a true threat even without the monster.
Or at least that is what he was believing. That weapon was still in play though and as she came at him, the Saiyan reacted the best he could. A body shield formed around him. The attacks she used being easily dispersed, but as he did, he reached forward, grabbing her by the shoulders and looking to slam her down. Hoping that worked, he formed a quick gathering of energy and unleashed it directly onto the body to the hunter, hoping another rush of attacks would give him a slight advantage.
Whether she was hindered or not he did not know, but either way she continued her assault. The next two combinations crashing into the formed body shield, but this time penetrating the protection to still strike into his body even if slightly blocked. He was pushed back as she challenged him to fight harder and stress himself more.
Orache shook his head as she was now in close combat, ”I can’t stress myself further without losing control.” The hunted said, throwing a quick jab towards her face before turning to try to connect with a powerful spinning kick to her body.
He continued his spinning motion hoping to connect with a powerful backfist to her chin and then a snap kick follow up, ”I appreciate you pushing me this far and showing me I could handle a fight by myself.”
Suddenly, he brought his knee up forcefully looking to strike into her body as well with force before unleashing a quick jab, ”I hope that I can learn more, but” He stopped thinking about this fight and all it did before trying to smash his elbow into her chest and then stomp down on her foot.

Orache shook his head, after his last combination, finally flipping in the air, looking to bring both fists down into her skull and pummel her into the ground to gain some semblance of an advantage.
”You don’t deserve this struggle.” It was hard to know for sure what he meant at this point, but Orache was seemingly sincere in his words and yet worried about what might happen next. He knew the monster’s power and how close it was to being released. He just didn’t want to accept what might happen next if he didn’t fight it back.

As Orache reached forward, she’d look to him with a smile before seeming to vanish from his grasp. He’d manned so many counter defenses thus far he was becoming more predictable. She didn't go far, couldn’t really, but enough that the length of his arms could not reach. As he aimed, she let him fire but her speed kicked up again, and she carefully ducked low under the blast with a burst forward, leaving another after image as she locked onto him for her next attack. She felt the toughness of his shielding, but took advantage of his step back, preparing for his counter attack. Her senses were sharpening the longer the battle went on, and she knew at this point she needed to counter him this time. Prepared she dropped under the jab, her body turning to dish out a sweeping strike with her weapon. It was meant to destroy the wind up of his kick and set him off balance. In such close combat, the blade did not give its trademark shock, but seemed to have sharpened to slice instead of crush, while pulling at him in a dangerous way. With that combo disrupted the power behind his next punch was diminished and more predictable. She pivoted out of the way of his wide swing just as it gained speed again, feeling the pull it had on her loose strands of hair, then sent a powerful blow into his face to keep him reeling enough he could not execute the next kick. She lifted her leg to deliver her own swift kick towards the leg he planned to land on. He moved his knee up and she jumped with it, slamming her heel into his rising thigh, before bringing her arms down on his head. His elbow came next and she met it with her braced forearm trying to intercept it from doing greater damage. His leg moved and she immediately lifted hers, slamming her shin against his to block the strike. Despite being a trained Paladin with more training with her sword, she was still extremely agile and not at all afraid to brawl. A Paladin also needed to prepare in case that trained weapon was disarmed. He had the advantage but pulled away, jumping through the air to gain more power. Doing so gave her plenty of time to fix her stance to be able to sidestep the attack, taking advantage that his spinning velocity would make it hard for him to reaim. With that much power he’d go crashing into the ground. “It’s okay,” she said with a gentleness that did not match her vicious assault. She swung her blade down like a lashing against his potentially exposed and recovering body, the blade not only cutting through just the air now. “Dark path or not…” she said, sending her foot down to continue her strike with a heel stomp. “I chose to walk it. If you lose control or kill me, do not take away my agency by feeling guilty.”

The dangerous hindering rod that she was utilizing suddenly changed to another staff like weapon, but this one somehow also a sword. Utilizing a weapon like this in a quick close combat encounter was not normal, but the glaive like function of a staff allowed it to be used and that was certainly not good for the wanted Saiyan.
As the staff… sword came at him to sweep him, Orache was caught off guard. Maybe he should have paid attention to the stance she had taken, but he likely missed it during all the times of him being blind and hindered. Not having much of an option, he used a burst of speed, shifting his location from in front of her to behind her and completely ignoring his previously used attack. He wanted to hit her, but her ability to counter was certainly a danger to him now.
As he tried to continue his previously attempted attack sequence, she continued her defensive counterstriking ways. Her counter punch was straight to his face allowing him to raise his arms up from attacking to blocking in a swift motion. Pushing his arms in front of him in a guarded cross block he let the punch crash into his armored bracers. It kept him in the close combat, but his arms being upped did not allow him a chance to protect himself against the swift kick towards his own attacking leg. The impact twisted him around but did not deter his attempted assault on her.
He tried to connect knee her but being off balanced from her previous attacks certainly did not make it easy. The only thing that did was that they were in this close combat situation. As she tried to slam her heel into his the Saiyan shifted his body mass, lifting his legs backwards for a moment to keep his own leg clear from the attack, but it left his head vulnerable as she brought her arms down on his head. Luckily for him, they were just brought down on his head and not sent with a force that might stun him.
She continued to defend herself from his barrage of attacks but had managed to keep herself safe in that moment. Orache was pushing as much as he could and it seemed to keep her from going on attack, but her counters had certainly put a hindrance in his plans.
Her words were calm, matching her cold demeanor perfectly, but as she tried to slash into his body. He lowered his arm to block the attack to his exposed core and then lifted his foot to avoid her own stomp. He had worked on his defenses before, knowing the more damage he took the harder it was to focus on the battle and keeping the monster away, but he was still far from perfect at that as well.
”I wish you would see the fault in your thinking,” Orache said, shifting from defense to offense as he raised his arm that had just blocked, trying to smash it into her nose before throwing a snap kick towards her calf area.
The Saiyan was not going to go down lightly as he tried to ram his elbow into her throat this time around before throwing a quick jab at her face with his other arm, ”I truly only desire that you someday understand, just as you hope I will learn as well.”
How long could he hold up against her assault was unknown, but he would try for as long as possible, knowing this was likely the last effort he had to keep the beast away.
