| The Last Samurai Yajirobe Word Count: 883 |
Honorable samurai. Noble. The Bushido code. Such tenets compelled the vagabond known as Yajirobe to help those in need. The cities were well protected, but who watched out for the villages? The small towns on the outskirts where beasts, monsters, and villains reigned unchecked? That was why he offered his services to an old timey western town, about as far west as one could tread. It was a town that was said to be rich with gold deposits in their mines, and the townsfolk lived in lavish luxury and opulence. Such things did not stir Yajirobe, so he slept his days away atop a mountain that overlooked the town. Unaware of the battles that had been fought in his absence, the days that he wasted away eating, drinking, and doing everything he could to avoid the inevitable. But a little girl had climbed to the top, hearing tales of a samurai atop the mountain that promised to be the town's salvation should they need it. And that was why she stood before him while the portly (but very physically imposing with lots of muscles too) man slept underneath the shade of a large oak tree. "Y-Yajirobe...?" The girl huffed out, her weak voice did not stir him awake, so she walked up to him and began to shake him. "Yajirobe! Yajirobe! Wake up! We are under attack!" Immediately he hopped awake and onto his feet, gripping his sacred katana, his hand shaded his hilt. "Huh?! What?! Who!? Where!?" He looked around only to find a small girl with dark hair in pigtails standing there. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and for a moment his heart sank into his stomach. "Oh, you must be from the village. If it's about that Carrot monster then hasn't he been dealt with already? Last I heard the Red Ribbon Army were after him. No way he survived that." The girl shook her head. "N-No...they failed. Please Yajirobe my father is the Sheriff and he's being held hostage in our own home! I managed to escape but everyone is living in fear! They're nothing but a bunch of bullies and no one has stopped him yet!" The girl wept. Yajirobe sighed. His eyes turned sad, his face crestfallen. Not just for the girl's plight, but for his lack of attentiveness. "My lack of honor has caused this..." He muttered so low that not even the girl could make out what he had said. The samurai patted his face to psych himself up. Then he underwent what the girl could only describe as an awe inspiring transformation. His hair remained long, yet his body had changed so drastically, and so suddenly, that she couldn't believe it was the same person. "Alright, where is he?" Yajirobe asked, his eyes looked down upon the town. "U-Uhm...our house is in the center of the village. It's the largest home with three floors." Without another word Yajirobe jumped down from the mountain top and then took off into the air, flying until his eyes met the large three-story home of the Sheriff's manor. The home had a roof access at the top, no doubt a place the Sheriff could go to overlook the town, much like how he heard that there was a Guardian that overlooked the Earth. He entered through the roof access, but as soon as he did so he was met with a guard. "Hey who are y-" Yajirobe's sword slice through his neck. The cut was pristine and clean, quick. The man fell over and onto the ground with a resounding thud. No doubt they would hear the commotion, but that was fine with him. On the third floor he looked down to see the monster rabbit sitting upon a throne on the ground level, yelling for his guards to take care of the noise he had heard. Yajirobe inhaled and fired off a golden blast of energy directly atop of the monster's head, and the ensuing explosion engulfed the manor, rocking it. The samurai descended from the top floor with his blade drawn, tracking the rabbit through the smoke, and he attempted to slice him with an overhead sword strike down the length of his arm. He twisted and twirled, brought his legs up, and attempted a lightning quick kick to the rabbit's stomach to send him back out of the billowing smoke. He continued onward, his gait was precise and he moved quick, his sandles were light upon the ground and his yellow yukata swayed to and fro. He attempted to slash the monster across his stomach, then hopped up and used his sheath as a weapon to stab into his cranium. When the samurai dropped back in front of him, the Monster could see him in his full form.  "You have ate your last carrot, Monster." Yajirobe declared. "I am Yajirobe. The Last Samurai. The Follower Of The Way Of Bushido. The Heavenly Sword. The Honored One." All were titles that no one called him. Not even himself. He just made them up on the spot.

Another day, another dollar. Carrot hadn’t had a long reprieve since the carrot exploded on him, but he was on Earth, the planet that rebuilt itself on the dally, so Android 16’s efforts to hinder his business were only so successful. He had to shuck out the money for the reparations, but it was worth it for speed, and the town was rebuilt in his image with new stashes and mines to dig out. The townspeople should be thanking him, honestly. While the Sheriff's office was being repaired, Carrot decided he would make base in the sheriff’s house. It was one of the larger buildings, three whole stories in a strange old western town. Normally they only had things like bell towers that high, but Carrot ran with it. It was an old Victorian splendor, and even when the office was rebuilt, the wanted criminal decided he would keep his place in such a palace. The Sheriff wasn’t too happy about that, but Carrot spared him, locking him in his own basement to wallow, while threatening to turn the man’s daughter into lunch. He folded easily enough with that, unknowing that the little girl had escaped somewhere and was probably dead in the desert. It wasn’t his problem. So he was counting his carrot’s while watching the football game on the sheriff’s big screen TV when noise broke over the loud commercial. ”How many times are we going to go through this!” Carrot screamed at his minions who scurried up the stairs. He didn’t wait this time, his body growing in size and his fur poofing out around him. Wise too, because soon an energy blast was rippling from the upper landing. Carrot’s aura flared, and he threw his massive arms over his head to block the falling blast which left a ring of soot around him in the once pristine living room. It looked like he was going to have another base destroyed. This one had been so pretty too. Hopefully the sheriff died with it. He was probably panicking below them. The thought made Carrot happy. But his goons were useless yet again, and the offender made it to the ground floor with a flourish of his blade. Carrot’s thick hide thickened against the strike as the blade cut into the fur. He stepped back with the kick, letting out a grunt before another slice targeted the same spot. As the swordsman brought the sheath up Carrot just about had it and slammed his forward against the attack, protecting himself with the hardest point in his skull. The dust cleared and the man began to speak but he had not defeated all the guards in his rush to challenge the master rabbit. As his title was dropped, gunshots exploded out towards him, one from above, and one from across the room. Carrot took this moment to rush Yajirobe, opening his mouth to increase the gunfire’s energy blasts with a barrage of his own at close range. He sprayed energy in a destructive cone of spittle and as he finished, the same attack came from behind the samurai, a huge barrage of mouth blasts threatening to engulf the whole room. Another goon? Nope. Despite the Carrot in front of him, there was now a Carrot from behind, and this furball lunged at Yajirobe with a wide swipe of his claw, meant to slice him open.

The goons swarmed around him from above, their weapons were drawn. Yajirobe counted them but his focus remained on the Monster in front of him. His hide was impressively thick, as even his sacred katana could not filet him like a fish. He was tough, but his training would see him through.
The goons blasted downward towards him, their shots collided with his cloak, marring his arms with bolts that singed his skin and robes. He winced but remained ever alert as the Carrot used that opening to his advantage. Dishonorable - Yajirobe had expected as much.
The code of Bushido meant nothing to such a creature. When the rabbit opened its maw and light emanated from it, the samurai drew his fist back, and when the cone of blasts shot forth his fist met the volley head on. It was something akin to magic, as the wind of his fist caused the barrage to sail back onto Carrot, making him literally eat the blasts that he attempted to pepper the samurai with.
From his flank a barrage came, and he had not expected it. The blast careened into his back, penetrating through his aura and causing him to double forward. He growled and ducked low, his peripheral picked up the shadow of someone else. A goon? No...another Monster?
He stayed low like a feline to dodge the vicious swipe, his legs shot up and he was in a handstand now, so when the Carrot's swipe missed Yajirobe attempted to ram his feet into the monster's chin, hard enough to send him flying above to the second level wall.
With a hop the samurai was back onto his feet and his body began to glow with a pale white light. When he spread his arms apart a volley of white bolts shot out, two each for the two Carrot Monsters, and two more to fry the goons that shot from above, effectively removing them as a nuisance.
He shot forward like a dart, his aura exploded around him, which then sparked his hard head with a transcalent energy. He attempted to ram it towards Carrot's gut.
Then he drew his blade quick when he touched down in front of him, so quick in fact that it was a blur of steel like lightning itself. The slice was aimed at his neck, and he followed up that attack by aiming high with a fast knuckle strike to his throat to stagger him backwards and knock him through the throne that he was so proud of.
"Cheap tricks won't work, Monster. Fight with honor."

The original Carrot’s mouth hadn’t even closed when Yajirobe sent the blasts right back at him. Open, it immediately unleashed an additional barrage of blasts. His jaw tightened and his throat burned but he pushed them out in rapid fire. At the same time, Carrot leapt back, getting some space from the blasts impacting against each other, the miniature explosions diminished greatly against each other, but was still a mess of fireworks inside a building. Meanwhile Carrot 2 went on a more physical offensive, which didn’t work out too great for him, but he was building momentum! The wide swipe licked nothing but air, causing his upper body to hunch over some from the missed swing. This was extra unfortunate for him as Yajirobe’s legs kicked up from the ground slamming into his torso and sending him flying through the ceiling. He crashed right through a bed and szx stopped by the second floor's ceiling with another grunt. Carrot was not one to miss the advantage of the situation however. He jumped down away from the hole and out of Yajirobe’s sight. His sharp animal ears heard the moment of contact the blasts hit against the ceiling where Yajirobe was forced to guess where he was, and with a rush of ki he zoomed across the room to escape it, out of the bedroom and back into the hallway landing where he could see the fight. Carrot 1 didn’t have the same advantage however, nor the goons who took the hit to the face and keeled over immediately. Monster Carrot wouldn’t be bested in one hit however! His arms crossed again over his body and his aura flared. When the two blasts impacted upon him he threw his arms out to push them away before they exploded. This gave Yajirobe the cover he likely wanted however, and as the man zoomed towards him he was able to dig his emo fringe into Carrot’s exposed stomach. Another grunt as Carrot was pushed into the air. This time there was no ceiling to break through and he zoomed upwards as the samurai unleashed his weapon once more. This time the blade would find softer tissue, but the hard hide was still difficult to break through, and Carrot’s fur seemed to expand like a balloon every time Yajirobe got close. His throat could hardly be found in this bulbous form, slowing the impact as the man was forced to squeeze through the fat from his chin and chest. Carrot’s mouth opened to further squish and slow that strike, and from it erupted another blast that ripped from the fat rabbit like a fart. At this point, the more nimble Carrot dove from the landing, his aura exploding around him as his rage powered him down from the second floor like a rocket, aiming to barrel into Yajirobe’s side to knock him away from Carrot 1. Whether he connected or not, he leapt up after and aimed both of his powerful rabbit legs into Yajirobe’s chest.

His blade was hindered by the rabbit's thick fur, it grew in size, ballooning and bubbling to the surface. He gritted his teeth, but when the dastardly rabbit opened it's maw a shot of energy spewed forth towards the vagabond's face. Yajirobe caught the black in his mouth, almost as if he devoured it, but in truth an energy blast had caught it that came from the depths of his stomach, upward past his mouth to meet Carrot's blast head on in order to stop it dead center.
The ensuing eruption created a plume of smoke that sent the ronin staggering back, his senses were in disarray, so he didn't see the other clone Carrot cut through the air like a bullet.
He rammed into Yajirobe who gasped, and he was sent tumbling into the far wall, bursting through an adjacent hall and leaving a human sized crater through the plywood. His aura shrouded him and it served as a secondary coat of armor, but he was still a little roughed up by it, which in turn annoyed him.
The rabbit hopped up and attempted to slam his legs onto the samurai's chest, but he nimbly avoided the attack by rolling to the side.
He pushed himself back up with his arms and spun in mid-air like a torpedo to ram his thick skull into the Monster's gut once more. His momentum continued, his aura ignited in an explosive burst of power that jettisoned outward, attempting to grab onto the rabbit and slam him hard through the wall, so hard that he would lead him outside of the manor, pushing him through layers of plywood until he rolled across the landscape like a ball of yarn.
Their plan seemed simple enough, to divide and conquer. But there was something that the vagabond noticed about the technique they used. Strength in numbers was always a powerful thing, but this came at a cost. Their attacks didn't hurt as badly as he thought they would. Sure he had some bruises but, maybe that was the technique's weakness - their strength was divided as well.
Thus he chose to knock the clone away and isolate it. He soared towards him with his blade drawn once more for a slash attempt at his ankles to slice at his feet, and he'd raise his fist up for an uppercut to his chin and hopefully send him airborne.
"Heh! Your hide is tough. Maybe I should skin you and wear it as a fur coat. That'll keep me warm in the winter."

The skinny nancy boy rolled like a bundle of sticks over the ground, but was quick to jump up again. Carrot did as well, jumping at the boy kicked up, his large paws pressing down to protect his gut as his fur expanded out again. The hat rammed into his hands, sending him higher into the air with nothing to stop the impact. But he didn’t stop there, his aura suddenly pulsing as he reached up. Carrot shoved the man’s head down with his paws, but being weaker it did nothing to Yajirobe, but did throw him faster upwards, allowing him to flip over the man before he was grabbed and slide right down his back side. Skinny as he was, there was no butt to stop him and the rabbit fell right off back to the ground while Yajirobe fucked up the Sheriff's house some more. But this was a battle, and the vagabond was not going to let him off that easily. He zoomed back through his hole at the unsuspecting rabbit who thought he had a minute’s reprieve. He had actually turned, ready to defend, but Yajirobe surprised him even more and went skyward and all the way to the ground in a sweeping slice. The large rabbit, grown even larger in his beast form, was completely skipped past to get to the ground, and for a minute Carrot thought he had another Android 16 trying to dig underground for no goddamn sensible reason. Thus, when the man recovered from the dive to slash at his legs Carrot immediately jumped up with a loud ”Yowch!” at the hard hit, before he practically frog jumped into an uppercut. Just what kind of strange tactics were these? The so called samurai had zero flow to his movement, which meant predicting him would be very difficult, but were they really effective either? In the air, Carrot 2 spun and dove down at Yajirobe to try and slam into his body to knock him to the ground. Whether he hit or not the rabbit rolled away for his partner to get a lick in next. Carrot Prime was ready and after his partner’s attack finished he was there launching a spin kick to try and knock off Yajirobe’s head. Landing, he immediately hunched forward and let out a large burp that exploded into flames looking to engulf the strange samurai, not caring at this point if he set the whole place on fire. Without pause, he pulled from a pouch at his belt and threw a small cylinder that exploded in the air releasing a microscopic dust over the house that would settle in the skin and cause the nerves to lag when sending their messages. Carrot 2 had vanished, and if it was going to be a one on one again, the rabbit wasn’t looking forward to dealing with this so called samurai's speed.

The Carrot Monsters were relentless and coordinated in their assaults, but there would be no give from the samurai, even if he was outnumbered he would fight with honor and integrity. No tricks, no gimmicks - that was his Bushido Way.
But one of the Carrots was on the attack, moving swiftly in the air to slam into Yajirobe, who doubled over in pain and nearly toppled over completely had he not used his sheath as a crutch. But when he looked up the other rabbit hit him with a spinning kick to his head and he was sent reeling backwards, staggering and sliding nearly tripping against the debris of the plywood that he had destroyed.
This gave the monster enough time to spew forth a torrent of flame from its gaping maw, it encircled him and the entire house and Yajirobe's aura burst forth to coat him and his skin, minimizing the bruises and the burns yet the flames still managed to nip at his skin and singe his yellow yukata.
At this point the entire manor was nearly on fire, and his mind went to the hostages. Which room would they be? The girl never said where her father was. If the vagabond could hazard a guess, he'd assume somewhere in the basement. So as long as the fire didn't spread too far then he'd have enough time to bail the Sheriff out before his house collapsed atop of him.
The samurai prepared his attack and holstered his sheath, his blade remained firmly gripped within his palms in a ready position. Yet the rabbit pulled a capsule and threw it towards him, and when it exploded, a cloud of dust enshrined him. He shook it off, or at least tried to, but his senses dulled slightly. He was half a second off, maybe, from his body moving when his body told him to.
So, that was the way he was going to play it huh?
"More tricks huh Monster?!" The honorable samurai barked.
The way of the Bushido was sacred to him, so in anger he lashed out and charged the beast, seeing as now there was only one of them. He flew straight towards the Monster's gut, then shot up and darted down in a zig zag pattern to get to his flank.
The proud warrior moved in and attempted a hard headbutt to the back of the rabbit's head, Yajirobe's own hard head was surging with a charge of Ki energy to reinforce it so that he didn't hurt himself in the process.
His blade was still at the ready and he sliced at Carrot's spine, then pivoted so that he was at the monster's side and attempted a body shot with his fist to send him staggering back.
In one motion he swung his blade in an upward arc to attempt to cut the furball at a diagonal angle from his hip up to his shoulder, then took a step forward, his foot stomped against the manor tiles, and tried to shove his shoulder into the Monster's chin to disorientate him.
Yajirobe skillfully hopped up and held his sword in a traditional Kenpo grip, which consisted of both of his hands gripping onto his katana's hilt.
While he remained above the Monster he slashed at him viciously, from his head to his neck, his ears, his shoulders, his nose and mouth, he moved so quickly in a flurry that a faint golden hue enveloped his katana blade, augmented by Yajirobe's own power. His goal was clear, to slice Carrot's face into ribbons.
He rose higher still and dropped a large canister from his hand that was tucked underneath his robe. It clanked directly in front of Carrot and exploded in a white gooey powder that stuck onto his feet to keep him tied down, or at least slow him down.
"I am an honorable samurai, Monster. Tell me where the Sheriff is and I promise that I will give you a warrior's death."

Carrot merely chuckled at Yajirobe’s frustration, which was cut off as the emo kid zoomed towards him. Carrot barely had any time to defend, but after calling him out on tricks it looked like the man was looking to shoot him in the back. Carrot’s thick arms covered his head and he jumped, curling himself into a spinning ball of thick fur to push the crushing force of Yajirobe’s head off center and reduce the impact. The swordsman quickly moved into his next formation, slicing down on the ball with his sword and snapping the spinning ball back into a flat rabbit on the ground. The punch had to come down on him, and slicing up was more difficult as he pressed himself to the floor in attempt to weaken the assault, and also force Yajirobe to literally strike a man when he was down. But when Yajirobe jumped over the sprawled out rabbit, the monster sensed a kill shot and a bubble popped out around his body. Yajirobe’s masterful strikes crashed into the bubble, and even with his level of skill, he could do nothing to penetrate it. Carrot used this time to roll over, his mouth curled into a wide mocking grin. But then Yajirobe dropped a canister on him, erasing the smile completely as he was quickly covered in a thick white powder. He sat up, then shook his entire body to throw the sticky crap off his fur. ”An honorable samurai fights with these kinds of tricks?” Carrot countered, seeing a certain level of hypocrisy. His opponent had gone on and on about honor, but when the time came, he was quick to throw this sticky concoction at him instead of his own blade. ”Alls fair in love and war!”His aura exploded around him and kicked hard off the ground with his superior bunny legs and launched himself into the air at Yajirobe. Long before the slower rabbit should have got there however, he suddenly vanished only to finish his explosive charge much earlier, trying to slam his heavy form into Yajirobe. Ki and pure physical force would crash into the man if he didn’t find a defence, and knock him back up to the second floor. Whether he hit or not, Carrot quickly spun in the air to be above the samurai, his mouth opening again. Instead of a single blast however, the rabbit’s mouth once more served as a mini machine gun unleashing a spew of blasts down on Yajirobe and the first floor. Still feeling slowed, the answer on what to do next was obvious. Jumping over Carrot’s head came Carrot Number Two, wielding a flame thrower—or so it seemed as fire exploded out from the new adversary. The first bit of flame had engulfed the curtains and some of the broken furniture, slowly spreading, and now the second expanded upon that. The precious TV melted and the wood fixtures began to catch. The smoke was beginning to get thicker.

The carrot monster challenged Yajirobe for his use of tricks, which made him shoot the monster a mischievous smirk. Well, well, well, if he wasn't the pot calling the kettle black. But finally they could see eye to eye on something.
"That's right Monster. All's fair in love and war!"
His aura erupted around him, the aftershock nearly tore the manor apart in the process. The flames that remained continued to burn and damage the estate as well. If things continued, then the entire building could potentially fall down atop of their heads. Perhaps they could survive it, but the Sheriff....
The rabbit careened towards Yajirobe at an incredible speed. He vanished mid-flight when he pushed himself to his limit, but the samurai's trained eye managed to track his movement.
He brought his sheath and timed it just right - in a blur he used his scabbard to push against Carrot's shoulder blades to steer him away from the vagabond's center mass, effectively redirecting him towards the direction of the second floor while Yajirobe remained suspended in the air, nearly carried further away than he would have liked if he hadn't mounted his defense.
The rabbit spun in mid-air and fired off a barrage of Ki from his gaping maw. Once more the ronin winded his fist back and then shot it forward to summon a strong gust of wind that directed the barrage right back at the Monster.
From over his head came a second Carrot with a mechanical device in his hand. The vagabond had not recognized what it was but would soon find out when it spewed forth a torrent a flame at him. His translucent aura flared to life and coated his body to protect him from the burns. Small singe marks peppered his skin and his glorious yukata was further singed. The sheriff's manor however burned further, and the samurai gritted his teeth at the sight of it.
The smoke thickened, but his eyes cut through the fog and he shot up in the air in an explosive display of speed to appear directly above the Carrot that he reflected the barrage back to. He opened his mouth to fire a golden blast of energy that was large enough to nearly engulf the rabbit whole and hopefully blast him further down.
Yajirobe then reared his right fist back and the flames that danced around the manor was now drawn to the vagabond's meaty hand. It swirled around it and coated it, condensing around his knuckle. This would stop the manor from burning even further than it already had, but the smoke he knew would be toxic for the sheriff to inhale. But Yajirobe had a hunch that he must have been locked up in a cellar somewhere down below.
"Bushido: Burning Knuckle!"
As impressive of a barrier that the rabbit had, the vagabond's fist would hopefully prove too much for it to handle and shatter it like glass while he punched him hard in his stomach to send him through the first floor and down....down towards the underground manor level.

A wind blew, rustling the rabbit’s fur as his blasts careened back to him. Furious, he once more kept shooting, sending blast after blast as he had before to create an almost wall of defense his own blasts couldn’t break through. He was just running out of steam as the blasts ended, and was about to pat himself on the back, when Yajirobe appeared above him. ”Sonnava—“ he let out, only to get slammed with the samurai’s attack and send flying back to the first floor, the wooden panels a broken mess under him. He was quick to recover however, snapping to his feet as Yajirobe pulled the fire into his grip. It was pretty cool, but Carrot stomped his foot hard into the ground sending the wood panels and debris up in front of him to block the attack before the energy pushed against his aura and cross arm block. The floor further creaked, cracking under the weight and damage but not yet breaking open. Ki already flared up, and Yajirobe at close range, the rabbit launched into a swift counter attack, swinging his fist towards the samurai’s open stomach after such a powerful swing down. Carrot 2 however was still in the air, and after taking a gulp from his flask, took his cue from his partner to flare his aura as well. He dove down in a mad rush aiming to slam his fist into Yajirobe's back in a perfect one-two with Carrot 1.

The Monster was resilient and quite resourceful, for he managed to mitigate Yajirobe's Burning Knuckle by using the manor's wooden panel and debris as a soft barrier between the vabagond's attack. Yet he still managed to break through and make contact with the rabbit's fur to deliver the blow in spite of his defense. Yet he maintained his composure and his aura erupted, Yajirobe saw him prep for a strike with his fist clenched primed and ready.
The fire that engulfed his fist blazed into a tempest that consumed his body, coating it into a fiery shell. It would provide the Vagabond with a barrier of his own to protect himself from the Monster's attack, no matter how impressive and destructive it was. The inferno blazed out in an arc to singe and mar the furball's deadly paw, but to the vagabond's rear the second Carrot monster careened towards him.
The fire around Yajirobe dissipated and his aura flared out when he saw the second Carrot approach him, it was all a quick reflex and he was struck from behind, slamming through the ground floor and nearly into what would have been the basement level.
Instead of exploring further and going down, Yajirobe opted to finish the fight clean for now before worrying about rescuing the Sheriff and immediately shot back up with his body encased in a blinding white light that engulfed the manor. His muscles bulged, his Ki swelled, and his eyes gleamed with the promise of death. It was time for him to cut loose.
In a flash of white he disappeared and attempted to ram straight through the belly of the first Carrot Monster, moving so quickly that he left a trail of Ki in his wake. The enusing aftershock caused an upheaval of wood, dust, and debris to scatter about as he attempted to push the Monster back through the whole outside of the Manor.
He wouldn't stop there either, as he went along with his original plan to separate the two monsters, he focused on the same one he wanted to drag outside by unleashing his blade upon him in a deadly fury of precise sword strikes, roaring as he slashed at the creature's rabbit feet, legs, crotch, midsection, and more on up to it's head, each strike bisecting across the last to filet him like a fish.
Yajirobe's aura flared once more as he shot up to fire a blast from his mouth, much like the last, that was large enough to nearly engulf the monster and careen towards his midsection to send him sailing further outside towards a jagged formation that stood a few feet away.
"Let's get some fresh air, you look like you need it furball."

”YEOWCH!” Carrot let out as flames engulfed him and the floor once more. The hardwood plating was already quite damaged, but below that was insulation, and the insulation was happy to begin to burn, and with it some toxic fumes. If he wasn’t on fire he might have been more concerned about that, but there would be time later probably. For now, he needed to get the hell out of these flames, so he did what any good Rabbit Scout was taught and ducked, and rolled away as Carrot 2 slammed his attack through sending Yajirobe and some of the burning insulation down into the basement. He quickly hopped back from the new flames himself, but the both felt the ground begin to rumble as Yajirobe’s power level spiked before briefly turning into a blinding sun. Carrot had enough. Both of them did, so at the same time they jumped into the air through the ruined ceiling and screamed at the top of their lungs. If you’ve never heard a rabbit scream before, you’d be curious to know they have two types of “screams.” One, while considered screaming for a rabbit, actually sounds like a baby crying. It’s not super high pitched and is very easily mistaken for a child. The other however… The other could easily be the sound effect of a horror movie: a screeching distorting sounds the tears at the eardrums and makes you think an animal is being brutally murdered. Carrot’s screams were the latter, and people outside the house all covered their ears in protest, wincing away from the sound. It was most impactful from Carrot 1, Yajirobe’s target and who he was trying to blow up from under. The vicious screeching was enough to tear at his equilibrium, disrupting his balance and jump, only to continue on three more times disrupting every impact to set the man off target enough Carrot 1 could step out of the way as he barreled back through the third floor. Wait, wasn’t he trying to get him outside? From below? Wasn’t Carrot’s problem, and didn’t really matter because Yajirobe had to come back inside to make his comeback. As he came zooming back, Carrot dove through one of the small holes his earlier attacks made, ducking under the drywood so Yajirobe’s sharp blade would have to cut through it first--which it did, with ease, but it gave the rabbit room to cover his vital spots, throw out an aura of ki again. Yajirobe had to slice through or position himself oddly, giving Carrot an advantage in blocking, but he was terribly weakened at this point, his flesh a mess of blood, so he did what any reasonable man would do. He slammed his head through the floor so it broke and he fell through to safety. Well, at least back downstairs to the chemically burning house. And at least until Yajirobe jumped up again to Mouth Blast below him to send Carrot…outside? But? Simple laws of physics meant shooting down drove him down? Carrot’s aura suddenly flared up as the blast came down, but the combination of both energy’s broke the floor sending him down into the basement, his body hidden by the rubble and debris. Carrot 2 had enough at this point too, recognizing the weakness in his other half, which would very soon become him. ”You want some fresh air!?” he shouted, only to open his mouth and unleash another wave of devastating flames, turning his head back and forth as he did to catch Yajirobe and as much of the messed up wood, curtains, and anything else that might burn out and create smoke. Hiding in a cloud of it, he jumped up over Yajirobe, only to deal another blast of fire down on the man, hoping to entirely engulf him and spread the flames downstairs, his goal now to set the whole house on fire and pin him inside. Using ki to keep himself floating, he smacked his lips together before opening his mouth one more time, this time unleashing an explosive roar, very much unlike a rabbit this time, and with it shot a soundwave that tore at the inner ear to slow down any movement. Carrot 1 laid on the basement floor, almost finished. The smoke was billowing down here, and the sheriff in the cell next to him was laughing through tears at his beat up state. Sucked to be him though because this was only half of Carrot, and he was still tied up in expert bondage to a furnace of all things. He was definitely going to go up in flames at this rate. At least he got a laugh. Carrot on the other hand, took a deep breath, his own body seeming to be on fire before him and the flame vanished from existence. This left only the fire breathing Carrot above, his aura now a raging fire around him, with Yajirobe, and while he immediately seemed more battered up, he also seemed stronger.

The shrieking was maddening. It was a blood curdling and disturbing wail of a dying widow. Yajirobe grimaced at the sound of it and he wanted to cover his ears if he hadn't been in the midst of combat. He missed his mark on his assault, but had tried to push through nonetheless, and when the Carrot monster had burrowed its head further down into the basement level the vagabond had shot a blast of energy from his mouth. It was a miscalculation on his part however, as he originally wanted to send him outside but the rabbit managed to avoid such a fate.
Also there was an issue....if his blast had missed Carrot and went down below towards a cellar where the sheriff was....would he had killed him?
Thankfully he didn't have to go down that road as the rabbit Monster's aura flared to life, a small beacon of light within the darkness below. Before he could pursue the dastardly rabbit the second Carrot shouted and opened his mouth to unleash a torrent of flames from its gaping maw. The flames engulfed his body and Yajirobe tried to fight it off with his own Ki energy to chase them away, but the rabbit was relentless and as more fire spewed forth the vagabond's skin and glorious yellow yukata were marred with burn marks that continued to fester upon his flesh.
Even his long mane of hair had been in danger of catching fire if he didn't have a protective aura of coating. Yajirobe clenched his fists and prepared to move in, but was stopped when that terrible shriek happened against. He grimaced once more and staggered back as if he had taken a shot to the gut, shaking his head to try and gain back any equilibrium that he may have lost.
However he mistepped and fell into the hole that the other Carrot had made. Clumsily the vagabond continued to fall before regaining his bearing to fly, and it was in that moment that the terrible ringing in his ears died down and he heard the voice of a man down below coughing and hacking yet laughing and yelling all the same.
"It-It's about...ack...time you got what you de-deserve--ack! hehehe..."
Yajirobe descended down and saw the man in the cell wearing a police uniform with a badge over his chest. The vagabond smirked when he saw him and didn't spare too much of a thought to the other Carrot that appeared to have been in a bloody and broken state. He'd deal with him in a second, but first he had to free the man.
The thick smoke and flames made breathing difficult even for the experienced vagabond who had been trained for such harsh conditions, so he knew that the sheriff would be on borrowed time. He quickly used his katana to cut the cell bars open and he cut the man's chains with his sacred blade in order to free him from the furnace.
Yajirobe placed the man on his back and then with a burst he ascended, still a bit loopy from the shriek that he had been subjected to but he nonetheless made a beeline towards the hole that the rabbit had made, then continued with his sacred katana gripped tightly in his right hand, his blade ready to strike. He knew that the second Carrot awaited him above in the burning building, but even with the Sheriff on his back he was able to move in a blur, slicing in multiple directions as he continued upward, one slash aimed to bisect the Monster in two, the second was upwards from groin to head, and the third was a vicious slash across his neck to slice open his throat. Each slash was heavy handed to try and penetrate through the Rabbit's impressively thick fur coat.
Yajirobe continued past the Rabbit in a blur towards the ceiling of the manor and crashed through it to get to the outside.
The duo hacked and coughed continuously as Yajirobe descended towards the village grounds and allowed the sheriff to hop off of his back.
The sheriff then turned towards Yajirobe and gave him a once over.
"Thank you kind stranger, I owe you my life," He said gratefully.
"Your daughter climbed the mountain top to reach me. She's the one that told me to save you," He informed him.
"Wow really?! That little rascal, she always was my little daredevil, and now she's my hero," He spoke fondly with a soft smile. As he peaked over Yajirobe's shoulder to look at his blazing manor, he questioned to the vagabond...
"Do you think that its dead....?"

It seemed to be a habit with the people who challenged Carrot to take their own sweet time about things. Yajirobe disappeared into the basement and did not return causing the rabbit to fume a bit more, but he couldn’t actually do much about it due to the laws of the universe. He dropped down to the second floor, stomping as he went to push up the wood until he was surrounded by a flaming shield of plywood. His flaming aura pulled back to him, creating a protective film as his power rose. It felt like he had all the time in the world to do nothing substantial. But Yajirobe eventually appeared, slowed down by the clumsy man on his back, forced to drive his strikes first through the shielding Carrot created. It weakened the blows before they reached the powered up creature, then Yajirobe fled again. The mobster understood the hero’s aim now, and while god was against him using the hostage against the would be hero, Yajirobe seemed to desperately want him to get in the way. Why else would he attack Rabbit in the house he knew held a hostage? Why else would he sit and have a conversation with the sheriff instead of telling him to flee? Well, Carrot of course gave immediate chase. While they were stupidly talking instead of preparing for Carrot’s next assault, he didn’t give Yajirobe or the sheriff much time before he was zooming towards them, his maw stretched open as it shot out machine gun fire at both Yajirobe and Sheriff Andrew who was too stupid to get out of dodge. His blasts ripped open the earth all around them, meant to trap them in a reign of blasts all exploding in a chain reaction. Carrot’s aura flared even higher as he stopped above them twin yellow blasts growing in his two paws. They grew rapidly into giant orbs that could easily take out the whole house were they still in it before Carrot slammed them together and shot them both in a deadly beam. ”Die!” he shouted as he pushed out enough energy to completely engulf both Yajirobe and his new buddy. Taking a breath and appreciating the damage the other Carrot piled on him, the rabbit quickly grabbed one of those nasty green beans and gave it a good crunch, absorbing the healing powers with gusto.

There little room for rest, respite, nor conversation. For after the Sheriff uttered the word "dead", the Monster came streaking from the burning manor in a fury, its gaping maw opened and Ki energy swelled to its mouth to prepare to launch a barrage upon them. Yajirobe's Ki ignited around him like a flame, the gust of wind caused the Sheriff to fly backwards which of course, the samurai was glad for to help get him out of dodge.
"Run! I'll hold him off!"
When the barrage came closer Yajirobe opened his mouth and bellowed a thunderous roar that shook the earth beneath his feet, causing it to crack and nearly cave in. The energy blasts that came from the rabbit's mouth were halted in the air by the vagabond's sound waves, and then they dispersed into embers of golden light that descended harmlessly onto the dirt.
The rabbit's Ki flared to life and emanated a shockwave as he harnessed two orbs of power in the palms of his hands. It grew and Yajirobe looked back to see that the Sheriff was indeed running away yet the blast could possibly generate an explosion that was large enough to engulf him within it. The vagabond gritted his teeth and shot off towards the Monster, knowing that his best bet would be to meet the blast head on before it could reach the ground, and that is what he did.
Carrot fired the powerful beam and Yajirobe flew towards it with his guard up, his arms crossed over his body center mass and his aura coated him like a shield. His skin flaked, his yukata nearly tore off from the top as the powerful beam collided with his skin, nearly causing him to fall back towards the ground...but he dug in deep within himself to remain firm in the air, and when the beam exploded and the smoke blanketed the air, an ominous green glow wrapped itself around the samurai's body.
When the fog diminished the Monster would find that Yajirobe's sacred katana illuminated a bright emerald light that basked the samurai in it as well to reduce the amount of burns, singe marks, and scars that emanated on his body. His flesh was battered and worse for the wear due to the power of the technique, and his katana did its best to offset it.
But what's more was the fury that bubbled to the surface of his visage.
"You should have burned with that building, Monster!" Yajirobe placed his hands in front of the crown of his head, his fingers spread apart, and the sun's rays glistened upon his back.
"Solar Flare!" A bright blinding light engulfed the Rabbit's eyes to attempt to stun him, and immediately after Yajirobe burst forward with an explosive aura around him. His fist was cocked back, his knuckles were wrapped in flames, and he attempted to uppercut the Monster higher into the sky - Yajirobe's meaty fist aimed for his chin to send him on a flight into the sky.
He pursued him with an aura around him, so explosive and quick that he was a blur of light and attempted to slam his hard head into the rabbit's back to send him even higher up into the atmosphere, so high in fact that the village below appeared to have been nothing more than a speck of dust. Up in the atmosphere at least, the Monster wouldn't be a threat to anyone or any houses.
